What can you do to help climate change?
There are many things you can do to help lower the CO2 levels in the air, carbon emissions are the main contributor to climate change.
Things like catching public transport or car pooling to work with friends or family is a great idea when it is not essential to use your own car by yourself. This will still put out carbon emissions but it will make a small difference. You may think that it wont make a difference if you do help or not because its only one person and it cant make a difference, but in fact if everybody had this attitude to think about themselves it would make things allot worse instead of helping make it better, but if everybody is self conscious with the amount of energy they use it will all add up equaling a huge change for the better. Car pooling and public transport aren’t the only things you can do to help; if possible you could walk or ride your bike. There are things in your house hold you can do to make a difference to, like turning of unnecessary lights and appliances, switching to double glazed windows, take shorter showers and making use of your ability to use grey water for things like your garden.

Prosesornya juga sama yaitu 208 Mhz, namun dengan RAM 128 MB, membuatnya lebih mirip dengan W950, W960 dan P1

Keypadnya menarik, walau penggunaannya tidak semudah G700. Navigasi D-pad dan soft key membuatnya tampil cantik.

Sayangnya tombol camera terlalu “masuk” sehingga menyulitkan untuk digunakan

Total skor G900 tidak setinggi G700 karena posisi slot memori M2 yg menyulitkan serta keypad yg tidak seergonomis G700.
Namun dengan adanya dukungan WiFi serta harga yg lebih rendah, membuat ponsel ini lebih direkomendasikan ketimbang W960

Sebelum sahur,  seorang pasukan tempur EYB bergerak merayap. Gagasannya memercik seketika setelah bibirnya disodok batangan 234 :  “Bikin grup pooling untuk album Antologi Jiwa-Jiwa (AJJ).”

Sepertinya ada tiga alasan yang bisa di pertanggung jawabkan tentang latar belakang ide ini :

• Pertama, lagi nganggur
• Kedua, gak mungkin nonton bokep di bulan Ramadhan
• ketiga, menebarkan teror dan isue pra-rilis AJJ.

Hal ketiga adalah hal yang sungguh cerdas meski sifat gerakannya sporadis. Bukti nyatanya adalah hanya dalam tempo satu jam tergalang dukungan dari 100 an publik terhadap album AJJ. Tentunya sporaditas macam inilah yang dibutuhkan dalam sebuah gerakan karya gerilya, dimana ” inisiatif  publik ” menjadi modal utama untuk berdiri dan menjadi bagian perjuangan.

Kunci untuk mendapatkannya sederhana : Buatlah karya yang bermutu agar publik menjadikannya gizi bagi kebutuhan rohani kreatifnya

There is an interesting article about Netflix in today’s Chicago Tribune (“How Netflix gets your movies to your mailbox so fast“, Aug 4th). The article brings two interesting points about Netflix: its location (or the fact that Netflix is doing its best not to disclose the exact locations of its warehouses) and its inventory management system.

I will follow the structure of my previous postings (which is also the structure of the tribune article) and start with a sensational quote before moving to discussing the more interesting (read: operationally relevant) point of the article.

1. Location: Apparently Netflix is not interested that we know the exact location of its warehouses.

“Unmarked trucks roll up, then roll out. Employees (called “associates,” in Netflix-ese) enter through a less-than-obvious door. Indeed, one of the few things about the building that suggested it was not a meth lab was that, at sunrise, the parking lot was full — shifts begin at 3 a.m.”

Neflix claims that this is done in order to avoid having people bring their DVD and dropping them there. Even employees are requested to mail their DVD.

2.  Inventory Management: Netflix has 58 warehouses throughout the US and the article focuses on the one near Chicago. Neflix is a good example of, what we refer to as, virtual inventory pooling. Virtual pooling basically means that you manage your inventory as if it in one pile even though things might be “sitting” in different places. This allows firms to reduce stock-out risks (or maintain quick response) while reducing shipping costs (since most products, if available, are shipped from the closest  location).

The way Neflix manages its warehouse is fairly interesting: it is done through constant sorting of the inventory. Traditional inventory management requires locating different items carried on shelves and shipping them to the customer. There are no proper shelves in Netflix. Every day all items are sorted into two groups: “ship today” and “scan tomorrow” (See “90,000 DVDs. No Shelves.”)

The tribune article claims that this is done in order to notify other stores of the inventory location, but I find it hard to believe that you need to scan an item everyday for that purpose. The Fast Company article states that this is done since “It’s a lot faster than a traditional shelving system where you have to run around and marry up orders”. (None of the articles mention, but DVDs that are not being rented at high frequency – find their way to San-Jone, the main hub).

I went a bit mad today and totally sorted out my stash. Now instead of 5 drawers and 3 bags of *stuff* I have 5 drawers and ONE bag – excluding my current project bag of course.

I cast on and started the front of the Fire & Brimstone, but I’ve frogged it back, never before happened to me, but the Manos Silk Blend was pooling… even more unusually I was using 2 balls and they both pooled in the same way together >.< must just be the size I’m knitting.. will investigate later how to make it stop.

I tried to ball the skein of lace weight I got with my sub to Yarn Forward, my yarn winder is too rough for it, it seems, and it just snapped, guess I’ll need to think about what to do with it.. may just give it to someone who likes knitting lace  -.o

I also frogged the Sea Breeze and now have (approx) 11 skeins of Noro Silk Garden to find something to do with.

The one drawback to knitting socks is that really, once you get past the initial “this weird tube thing is going to be socks,” there is not a lot to blog about until you’ve actually turned them into socks.

I’m not quite there yet, but I’m close – ready to bind off at the top, at least. I’m knitting these with an afterthought heel, because I have many ambitions but short-rowing two socks at once is not one of them. It’s actually my favourite kind of heel, I think it makes the socks look really polished and neat, and I’m really stoked about being able to get both out of the way at once. This technique is exactly what I needed to actually be able to work on socks.

The Koigu is, of course, pooling terribly, but I’m not surprised. I think it’s something about the size of my feet, but every variegated yarn I’ve ever used just turns into diagonal stripes when I knit it into socks for myself. Oh well.

In my earlier post on WCF behaviors I had given some code snippets on how we can implement pooling in WCF using Behaviors.In this series of posts I am planning to elaborate on the implementation on the same.So to start with the question What is Pooling? needs to be answered.Pooling is a technique where resources are recycled to avoid expensive creation and release of resources.Once the resources are recycled and sent back to pool they lose all their state and identity and are ready to be used again.

To start with first I have defined an interface IResourcePool which defines the contract to acquire and release an object back to the pool.

The class ResourcePool is the implementation of IResourcePool.The four main properties driving the pool configuration are:

The EagerLoad method creates the objects and pushes them into the stack.This stack is the in memory data structure used to keep track of the pooled instances.

Now in this we have two more interesting properties related to the pool configuration:

The method used to acquire objects from pool is a simple one which checks the instance count in the pool and pops an object from the underlying stack and reduces the count by one.
