Maybe it’s just me and I’ve watched too many James Bond films in my life (oh, my god, like that’s possible), but does anyone else automatically bump Eastern European men and women a few points up the hotness scale? The accent, the Otherness of their features and upbringing, the idea of them maybe having done unspeakable things in desperate times — it’s all superhot spy-type shit. Maybe it’s some kind of residual Cold War “forbidden territory” thing, even? Anyways, I mention this by way of introducing Inga Drozdova, the lovely and talented Miss November, 1997, who has the distinction of being Playboy’s only Latvian Playmate of the Month to date.

A.N.JELL is worldwidely famous, especially in Asian countries, group like TVXQ. They are going to join a member “Minam Go”, but he had a problem with surgery so his twin sister Minyeo Go (Minyeo means Beautiful) have to join that group and perform as a member of A.N.JELL for a month.

Even though this drama had been showing at the same time of Iris (Popular Korean drama with famous actors and spectacular scenes), this could be successful because of the story. Every girl has curious part of Singer Group, and sometimes, girls imagine about it. This Drama showed exactly what they imagined.

Also, member of A.N.JELL was great. Geun-Suk Jang (starring Taekyung, main character) is popular in Korea, he is an actor who started to actor since long long time ago, and Hong-ki Lee (with blonde hair) is a main vocal of korean singer group, F.T. ISLAND, and he is an actor who started long time ago, too. Finally, Yong-hwa Jeong is a member of CN BLUE, korean band which performs in Japan mainly.

Also, Y.B. could be loved by foreigners because of subtitled-version of YB on YouTube. There are many videos which have English subtitle on YouTube, so if you want to see this Drama, just search it! Y.B. was so popular that fans of this drama are asking Season 2 of this drama! I hope it too, but this end was good.

Ok, before you jump down my throat, search for my coordinates on Google maps and hunt me down in my sleep, please hear me out.

First of all, I like Taylor Swift. I like that she’s sweet and wholesome, I like that she writes her own music, I like that they play her music all the time on the radio so I can turn it up loud when I’m driving and sing at the top of my lungs. I think she’s got awesome hair and love that she doesn’t let her 5′11 frame bother her.

I really do like her.

But all that being said, I also think the Taylor-mania is getting a little out of control. When she beat out Beyonce at the now infamous VMAs this past September, I agreed with what Kanye said. (And that made me rather unpopular, to say the least.) Sure, Taylor’s song was catchy and the video was cute, but it was not better than Beyonce’s jaw-dropping choreography for “All The Single Ladies.” The lyrics weren’t anything new or brilliant, the tune wasn’t anything we hadn’t heard before (assuming anyone ever listened to country music before…) and while the song was good, it was by no means the best.

And it was at that moment – when Kanye acted a fool – that people started looking at Taylor in a new way, putting her up on some pedestal that she never really deserved to be on.

Just last week Taylor beat out Martina McBride and Reba McEntire to take home the award for Entertainer of the Year at the CMAs. Then at last night’s AMAs, she took home 5 awards, even beating out Lady Gaga, KOL an MICHAEL FREAKING JACKSON for Artist of the Year.

Now, I get the love for T-Swift, but really?

This is a little much.

Taylor Swift has done a lot to bring country to the forefront of the music scene and she knows how to write a good sing-along jam (I can’t help but belt out some Love Story at the bar), but she is not the artist everyone is touting her to be. Her voice isn’t strong like Celine, she doesn’t dance like Beyonce and she’s not really pushing any envelopes like Gaga.

So what is all the fuss about? What is it about Taylor that is so effing great?!

I’m sorry, but she’s is just another run of the mill sugar coated pop star with a great PR team around her making us all believe she’s something that she’s not. And when she looks at those 10 new statues she’s taken home in the past 3 months alone, she better be giving thanks to the one and only Kanye West.

November 16th

When we got to Japan we were devastated to hear that sumo season was over. Between that and only spotting one geisha, our to do list was looking pretty meager. Luckily Giles and Anne , in their infinite wisdom, informed us that the sumo tournament was only just beginning in Fukuoka so, ignoring Lonely Planet’s advice that people start queueing at dawn for the special (and cheap) ‘on the day’ tickets, we picked up our Japanese Rail passes and massive backpacks and headed straight for Japan’s second city.

We managed to blag the cheap seats for that day for 2,100 yen (around 16 euro) but it being only 11am, the stadium was pretty empty so we had someone else’s ringside (sweat splatter) seats until around 2.30pm. The tournament runs from 8.30am until 6pm every day for the duration of the festival, starting with the lower level sumos and moving onto the world’s best in the afternoon. Surprisingly, there are only around 800 sumo wrestlers currently competing, as Japanese boys move towards the country’s latest craze – baseball.

I had always imagined sumo to be an epic battle between two massive forces of nature so when the first few competitors came into the ring, weighing little over 14 stone, I was a bit disappointed. Fortunately as the day progressed, they got bigger, until they weight around 1 kilo less than a fully grown sperm whale. I was also surprised by the amount of ceremony involved (apparently sumo was originally part of a religious ritual).

The first person to enter the stage is a man in traditional dress (looking a little like a medieval squire) who sings/chants the competitor’s name. The sumo then hauls himself into the ring, a circle with a diameter of around 15ft on a sand platform. They stretch, lifting one swollen foot over their head before stomping it down on the ground and repeating with the other foot. Then they square up, squatting down, before standing up and walking out of the ring. The referee (also in traditional dress) dances about a bit and the sumos return, squat and sometimes, leave again.

After around 10 minutes of this the fat (or sometimes not so fat) men finally get to it. The referee starts yelping like an injured seal (apparently shouting encouragement) and they rush at each other, colliding and sending all their rolls of fat (and in one sumos case four boobs) quivering towards their rear in fear.

Oftentimes this is all it takes. One puts his shoulder down lower and the other, defying the law of gravity, soars over his back, suspended gracefully mid-air in a backflip for one terrifying moment, before he hits the floor/judge/closest audience member. And that’s it. After all the ceremony, chanting and prancing, they hobble back to the stage, bow and exit the room demurely. Sumo wrestlers, unlike Irish football fans, are not permitted to show emotion after winning or losing a bout.

The best fights are the ones where the wrestlers weigh about the same and have similar strength. When their shoulders meet, neither gives way and they wrap their free arm around each other. This leads to a standoff which, after a few minutes, starts to look a bit more like the world’s fleshiest cuddle.

You would think that seven and a half hours of watching a foreign sport in an unintelligible language with a seemingly endless routine of unrecognizable religious rituals, would be too much of a good thing. But its not. As the day went on it got more and more exciting and, as the more successful sumos arrived, the crowd got more and more excited. A queue of people waiting to greet the world champions formed outside the stadium and with all the screaming teenagers and swooning women, you would have been excused for thinking that you were at a Take That concert.

We left feeling like kids who had spent the day at Disney, practicing our squats and splits and stamping on the bus, just daring people twice our size to take us on. And why not? Sumo has it all – morbidly obese men, thongs, long flowing locks, bear hugs, elaborate costumes, injured sea creatures, gravity defying belly flops and the ever present fear that the next time they fall, it could be on you. What more could you want from a sport?

With 4 chart topping hit songs, an undeniably unique sense of fashion, and more TV appearances than you can shake a stick at, musical artist Lady Gaga has become a household name. Some love her, and some hate her, but its impossible to avoid her. Known for her skimpy pants-less outfits and raunchy songs, Lady Gaga is making an impression on the musical industry and the youth. Is it a good thing, or is she promoting what some view to be a bad life style?

Though her songs and music videos usually depict lyrics and images of sex, lust, and risque activities, I don’t believe she is glorifying any of it-in fact, the presence of sex is made so casual that she turns it into what sex has become to much of today’s youth- a natural and common act.

The songs Just Dance and Love Game are both about being young, partying, and engaging in no-strings-attached sex. Some may say that by broadcasting casual sex in such a manner is glorifying it-but I disagree. A large portion of teens between ages 15 and 20 engage in casual sex, and while many people choose to ignore it or condone it, there are few who give comfort to teens (especially young girls) and educate them on casual sex. Lady Gaga comes forth in her songs and talks about -gasp- actually enjoying sex! Casual sex is something that is simply not going to go away, no matter how much education or punishment is put toward it. Though artists like Kanye West and other rappers talk about having casual sex, it is all from a male point of view, sometimes referring to women in their songs as “easy” or “hoes”. To have a white, young, female artist come forward and say, “I have casual sex, and so do you” is incredibly empowering to today’s female youth, and sends a strong message that they are not alone in their decisions.

Aside from her music, Lady Gaga has been blasted for her fashion choices, being called everything from “eccentric” to “ridiculous” to “slutty”. Her signature look of a leotard, fishnet or opaque stockings, boots, and sunglasses have made many deem her as a hooker-look-alike. The internet gossips sites were a-buzz when she was seen wearing tape over her nipples under a sheer t-shirt, however fellow singer Rihanna was called fashionable when she did the same. Lady Gaga has said that she embraces her body, and has never had any plastic surgery done to change her features. She’s appeared semi-nude in magazines, however not once has her nudity been the focus of an image. She wears leotards or bikini bottoms in public and is called “whoreish”, while Beyonce and Britney Spears wear the same, if not raunchier, outfits on stage and no one blinks an eyelash.

So, is Lady Gaga a good role model? My answer is yes. She isn’t posing in playboy like The Hills star Heidi Montag, or wearing booty shorts and pole dancing at age 16 like Miley Cyrus. She isn’t singing about blaming obvious rape on alcohol like artist Jamie Foxx. Lady Gaga hasn’t been seen leaving a night club completely intoxicated, or snorting coke in the back of a bathroom, or committing adultery.

She is writing her own songs, performing her shows, and experimenting with fashion. Last I checked-isn’t that what most parent’s encourage their children to do? Find their own style, work with their talents, and do what they love?

I have just returned from a 9am showing of “This Is It” which is the earliest I have ever seen anything on at the cinema. So it opened today for only 2 weeks, which I think is a fantastic idea. Mainly because it gives it more of the concert/show feel that after 2 weeks you cannot see it on the big screen again. I really could not help but thinking what an incredible show this would have been, it really would have been the greatest concert in the history of music. Some of the stuff they had set up and ready for the songs were just totally out of this world.

The film shows Michael rehearsing, completing sound checks and figuring out dance routines and how he wanted everything to go together and flow. We see this in-depth for quite a few songs, I thought “Smooth Criminal” looked fantastic with MJ being put into the movie. Had to wait til the very end to see my two favorite songs, “Billie Jean” and “Man in the Mirror”.

I am quite geeky in the fact that I really like seeing behind the scenes footage of how things are put together and done. So this film is no exception which is really just great seeing how much time and effort went into ensuring the show was going to be pretty much perfect and go to plan every night it was due to be on. I really enjoyed the brief auditioning clips for the dancers and showing how many people from all over the world wanted to be apart of this show. Then showing which dancers made it to be the main dancers on the show, and how they got into it with Michael becoming part of the show. One of the quotes about that was to dance in a Michael Jackson show you become an extenstion of Michael, which really meant that they had to be able to really dance, as damn Michael could move.

From the point of view watching Michael Jackson at work, it really showed how much of a perfectionist he was and how much he really cared about performing and more importantly his music. The way he wanted to have control while he was singing and be able to use handjesters to signal a light change, or to stop the music as a build up to the end of the song. I thought it was rather cute when he asked to change the ear piece as it was hurting him as he was not used to wearing them and he was adjusting. Yes, that may seem rather random but I did actually feel sorry for him in that moment.

I found it interesting when watching him on stage without the dancers, and they acted more as the audience. You really wanted to actually applaud after some of the songs as it does give you a feel of being there and watching the rehearsal process. I guess this just shows the presence Michael Jackson had when he was on a stage, totally fantastic. He wanted everything to be perfect and sound exactly the same as when he originally recorded the songs. Which I thought was great as often in live shows artist/bands slightly change songs to sing them live, Michael had no interest in that. He kept saying he wanted to keep it really for the fans and I am sure he would have done with this show.

The most heartbreaking realisation about watching this is knowing that what would have been the most fantastic pop concert ever did not even get completely finished let alone performed for the amazing 50 shows. This really was it for Michael, but he will live on forever in his music.

“This Is It” song was played over the credits, it is such an amazing song and I am sure when it is released it will rightly go straight into number 1. As I am sure this film will go straight to number 1 at the cinema box office all over the world. Michael Jackson was the King of Pop and no-one will ever come close.

Um grupo de dedicados fãs de Michael Jackson iniciou uma campanha de “despertar” sobre o filme “This is it”, que está prestes a estrear, dizendo que ele esconde a horrível realidade dos últimos dias do pop star.

O grupo representa fãs de pelo menos dez países. Eles alegam que o filme, que chega aos cinemas do mundo amanhã (28) é baseado nos ensaios do artista para uma série de shows em Londres, esconde o “estado extremo” de sua saúde, enquanto enriquece os promotores que seriam em parte responsável pela morte de Jackson em 25 de junho.

“Nas semanas que levaram à morte de Michael Jackson, enquanto esse filme estava sendo feito, as pessoas em volta dele sabiam que ele parecia como se tivesse morrido. Mas os que lucrariam [com os shows] escolheram ignorar isso”, disse o grupo.

Jackson estava se preparando para os concertos na época em que morreu por overdose de medicamentos. A polícia focou a investigação da morte no médico pessoal do artista, Conrad Murray. Até agora, porém, nenhuma acusação foi feita.

Turn on the radio and the TV and there they are. The One hit Wonders, they are a band, a boy  or a girl group , or a solo female or a male artist. Yes they made a hit!Topped the Charts and unfortunately that’s it. They are called the one hit wonders because they only hit it big time, once…They made great songs that made us dance, made you sing and made you cry, and we are hoping for more. They can be in the form of R&Bs with those flashy videos, Rock & Roll bands with their grudgee Lyrics or Just a Pop video with their earcathing chorus.

      Making Music that will top the charts wasn’t easy for them. They worked hard for it, and sometimes getting into troubles for it, whatever it takes listeners are craving for more and they are gone, where did they go? Usually Musicians takes ome time off  to  make some songs. Feeling every notes and rhythm that will change the music industry, and sometimes it’s not for every musicians.     Maybe the key is by the Listeners themselves, you have to please them. Kylie Minogue-Australian Gay Icon- was reportedly paid $1 million for her appearance in the $25 million Blue Bollywood film released in India on Friday night.’The producers have made much of the participation of Minogue, apparently hoping to distance their film from Bollywood’s traditional kitsch romances and bombastic potboilers,” a reviewer wrote in The Times of London.

Happy Stephen poses for photo's but privately he struggled with depression

This is a sad blog. One of my absolute teenage heart-thobs, Stephen Gately has died while on holiday aged just 33 years old. What happened? Stephen was enjoying a holiday in Majorca and after a night on the town went home to sleep it off but failed to wake up. Does this sound familiar? When Heath Ledger ‘failed to wake up’ people were quick to jump on the drug addict label but we subsequently found out that Heath was on a lot of prescription medication.

I know that Stephen had struggled with depression and he was involved in a lot of work recently with the Boyzone come-back and his own stage theatre career. If he was indeed taking a high dose of anti-depressants, maybe a few uppers to help his energy levels then a night on the lash with a lot of alcohol would have been a serious risk to his health. If he indeed die because of a tragic mixture of his antidepressants then I think this highlights the danger of these drugs. There are many forums and campaign groups from families who have been devestated in a similar manner because there is not enough information about these medications.

There are no confirmed reasons as to why this young man has lost his life at such a vibrant and fun time but my theory would be

a) prescription drug leading to heart failure

b) plain and simple cardiac arrest

c) choking on his own vomit

What are you theories? How could this have happened to someone? I really liked Stephen Gately. I had all his posters up all over my room when I was 12/13! I thought he was very talented.

Jennifer Aniston foi pega chorando em seu trailer, no set do filme The Bounty, há algumas semanas.

A pessoa que flagrou a atriz contou ao New York Post que Jennifer teria dito à sua assistente, que tentava consolá-la:

“Preciso de um tempo. Esta cena me lembrou tanto de quando estava com Brad”.

Aniston se refez em alguns minutos, e logo saiu do trailer com um sorriso no rosto.

A fonte comentou:

“Enquanto ela anda pelo set sorrindo e flertando com Gerard, em segredo mostra que ainda está muito fragilizada”.
