1. Bugatti Veyron, $1.7 million

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is the most powerful, most expensive and fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a proven top speed of over 400 km/h (407 km/h or 253 mph). It reached full production in September 2005. The car is built by Volkswagen AG subsidiary Bugatti Automobiles SAS and sold under Bugatti marquee. It is named after racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939 while racing for the original Bugatti firm.

2. Ferrari Enzo, $1 million

The Ferrari Enzo is a 12-cylinder Ferrari supercar named after the company’s founder, Enzo Ferrari. It was built in 2003 using Formula One technology, such as a carbon-fiber body, F1-style sequential shift transmission, and carbon-ceramic brake discs. Also used are technologies not allowed in F1 such as active aerodynamics. After a downforce of 775 kg (1709 lb) is reached at 300 km/h (186 mph) the rear wing is actuated by computer to maintain that down force.
Motor Trend Classic named the Enzo as number four in their list of the ten “Greatest Ferraris of all time”.

3. Pagani Zonda C12, $741,000

The Pagani Zonda is a mid-engined sports car produced by Pagani in Italy. It debuted in 1999 and continues through the present, with production proceeding at roughly 10 cars per year. As of April, 2008, 91 Zondas had been built. Both 2-seat coupe and convertible versions have been produced. Construction is mainly of carbon fiber.
Some early Zonda engineering was done by Formula One champion, Juan Manuel Fangio. The car was originally to be named for him, the “Fangio F1″, but the name was changed upon his death in 1995, renamed after an air current above Argentina.

4. Koenigsegg CCX, $600,910

The Koenigsegg CCX is a supercar from Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg, to replace the Koenigsegg CCR. CCX is an abbreviation for Competition Coupe X, the X commemorates the 10th anniversary of the completion and test drive of the first CC vehicle in 1996. The CCX is intended to be suitable for the United States market and thus engineered to comply with US regulations. A base model CCX costs approximately US$ 540 000 (€ 395 000) but with all optional extras the car costs US$600 000 (€440 000).

5. Porsche Carrera GT, $484,000

The Porsche Carrera GT is a supercar, manufactured by Porsche of Germany. The Carrera GT is powered by an all-new 5.7 litre V10 engine producing 612 SAE horsepower (450 kW). Porsche claims it will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62.5 mph) in 3.9 seconds and has a maximum speed of 330 km/h (206 mph), although road tests indicated that in actuality the car could accelerate from 0-60 in under 3.5 seconds and to 0-100 in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 335-340km/h (209-212.5mph).

A report indicates that Porsche is planning several new models within the next 4 years.

These apparently include a new generation of Cayenne, a baby Cayenne (This will be to the Cayenne as the Audi Q5 is to the Audi Q7), a V6 Panamera, with a diesel version in certain markets and a hybrid Panamera, which will be coupled to either a V6 or V8.

Also, a new generation of 911 is due by 2012. It is expected to be significantly different from current one, though the engine will still remain in the wrong place back.

A successor to the 928 is also planned (In coupe and convertible form), as well as a supercar based on the RS Spyder racing car, and if their last supercar is anything to go by (Carrera GT), it should be brilliant.

Besides the disgusting fantastic hybrid Panamera they’re developing, there’s also an electric sportscar on it’s way. Lastly, the Boxster Spyder I posted earlier will be released, as I mentioned, in February 2010. Looks like the brand is going to have the biggest line up in a while soon.

Torque is the turning force that makes cars accelerate. The higher the torque, the more powerful the force that turns the wheels, and the quicker the wheels can get going and push the weight of the car.

Internal combustion engines are limited in this respect in that they need to ‘rev’ at a certain rate before reaching their peak torque, and even then their peak torque can only be maintained within a limited RPM (speed) range. Jay Leno has been said to have over 100 cars. Some vehicles he has which I would love to own are; the Bugatti Veyron, Porsche Carrera GT, (my all time favorite) a 66′ Ford GT 40, the Lambo Countach and Miura and the Mazda RX8. Actually I own it! Leno has also been said to be into Eco solutions for some of his cars. The one on the agenda today would be his creation; the EcoJet. Leno designed this unique little beauty with General Motor’s design chief; Ed Welburn, and Frank Saucedo. If you’re thinking; wait I’ve seen this car before, you’d be right! The EcoJet was first seen in 2006 at the SEMA show. Back then, the car was a static model with no driving capabilities. That was until Leno, along with the Burbank Shop got their hands on it and worked to make it a running supercar.

So what lies under the hood of the once display only car? The numbers are definitely impressive, hence the name “EcoJET”. A Honeywell LT-101 turbine engine makes this Eco supercar go, producing about 700hp and 500lb-ft of torque. The body consists of a redone Corvette aluminum fame underneath a carbon fiber body. Going a top speed of over 150mph, this bio diesel powered Turbine speedster means business.

My Thoughts: This is really one hell of a car. It’s Eco-friendly, its looks are definitely one of a kind, and it’s pretty damn fast! As far as creativity goes, Leno really made something unique and original.

It’s got my vote, thumbs up!

I have No Clue What is GOing on with THis Car Either – Same Team Who Designed the Lambo. Although I must say It is pretty cool he went to the extent to try to design his own kit for such a rare car. But Style Points still Lag. If it does serve Aerodynamic functionality then i guess a pass.

No post escrito em 26/06/09, foi explicada a enorme eficiência do Nissan GTR, mesmo se comparado com um dos automóveis mais potentes do mundo, o Bugatti Veyron. Tal eficiência foi comprovada pelo tempo da volta em Nurburgring, em que o GTR (480cv) completa uma volta em 7 minutos e 38 segundos, 2 segundo mais rápido que o Veyron (1001cv).  Mas a própria Nissan ainda não estava satisfeita… 

Preparado para ser lançado em 2010, o Nisan GTR V-Spec tirou nada mais nada menos do que 11,3 segundos da sua volta no traçado germânico. Agora a façanha é completada em 7 minutos, 26 segundos e 7 décimos de segundo. Esse sedan, que pode transportar 5 pessoas, é mais rápido e Nurburgring que o Porsche 911 Turbo (7 minuitos e 38 segundos),  Pagani Zonda F (7 minutos e 33 segundos) Porche caffera GT (7 minutos, 28 segundos e 7 décimos de segundo), e diversos outros super esportivos. Ele é apenas 3 décimos mais “lento” que o novíssimo Corvette ZR1, o Corvette mais radical e esportivo já construído, com 626cv. Um verdadeiro carro de corrida.

Qual é o segredo para tanto desempenho? Infelizmente, as informações oficiais não foram concedidas à imprensa, mas há rumores de que o modelo emagreceu entre 150 e 200kg,  que recebeu ajustes – Seria possível? - na sua transmissão, suspensão, e eletrônica embarcada. A potência doV-Spec, embora não seja dado oficial, agora gira em torno dos 520 a 580cv.

 É importante lembrar que o motor continua sendo o V6 biturbo com deslocamento de 3.6 litros. Se ele estiver gerando “apenas” 520 vc,  a sua potência específica  será de  144.4 cv/l , oque é fenomenal.

Aguardarei mais informações, principalmente as oficiais, para informções posteriores.

Hacer una versión mejorada de un auto de la extraordinaria calidad de este puede ser una empresa difícil de lograr, sin embargo Porsche lanzará el próximo año su renovado Carrera GT. En realidad los cambios van en torno al diseño interior, mejor logrado para el piloto, que podrá disfrutar ahora con mayor comodidad la brutal performance de esta supermáquina.
