Champions Trophy – Top order and Bowling a major concern for India
My Thoughts

India takes on South Africa in couple of days in Sophia Gardens and they still have few issues to address before the big game. The team selected for a major trophy like the Champions Trophy has a few gaping holes which might prove to be India’s undoing in the tournament. Murali Vijay has failed in the two warm up games and so has Dhawan. Rohit Sharma’s continued lackluster showing at the international level isn’t helping India’s already inexperienced batting lineup. The batting entirely depends on the experience of Dhoni, Raina and Kohli. Dinesh Karthik has shown excellent form in the two warm up games and Dhoni will be hoping that he takes that form into the tournament. The opening combination of Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan does not inspire a huge amount of confidence at the moment. It seems like Dhoni will not open with Rohit in the Champions Trophy which means that India has to stick with the Vijay/Dhawan combo for the tournament unless they push either Pathan or Karthik to the

Montreal
A MINUTE FOR MINUTE

This past Memorial Day Weekend, a group of us drove up to Montreal to enjoy the sights, smells and delicacies of our Canadian neighbors. Unfortunately, the weather was quite awful and photo taking was done at a minimum. I managed to take my Mark II out for one afternoon as we strolled around the Olympic Park. We also stopped by quickly to see the most amazing architectural housing complex I’d ever seen called Habitat 67. It’s hard to believe it was made without the help of a computer (the structure was completed in 1967) Here are some photos from our trip to the Park. WF: East to West
Naty Matos' Blog

I think one of the things Christians, especially new Christians struggle the most is condemnation. We live in the world of “forgive and not forget” and we have the tendency to look at God in the same light. I have said many times that understanding God’s mercy was hard for me. How could he forgive the things I had done when his Word said that those things were against his will? Then I discovered Grace. That favor that God gives us that covers all our sins. That which brings to life the sacrifice of the cross. Even after salvation we are not perfect, and there are times when we life in this fear of when will be the day when he will say enough, you’ve crossed the line of unforgiveness. But lucky for us that day will not arrive. As long as we repent we will be covered once again by the blood of the lamb, because Jesus died for ALL our sins. The ones we did and the ones to be done.  1 Peter 1:18-20 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were red

Champions Trophy – Confusing team selection
My Thoughts

The Indian team for the upcoming Champions Trophy was announced a few days back and there were for sure some surprises. The biggest surprise was the selection of Murali Vijay. Vijay had a great home series against Australia in tests but he hasn’t done anything for India in shorter format to inspire any confidence among the fans. He has struggled for CSK in the ongoing IPL season and does not look like a right candidate for the ODI’s. The selector’s argument is that Vijay is technically equipped to see off the new ball in England but again is he the right candidate to accelerate in the ODI format is the question everyone has in their mind. This seemed in the lines of Rahul Dravid’s selection in the 2009 Champions Trophy. Gautham Gambhir should probably have been selected in the squad for some experience in the top of the order. Gambhir has struggled in the recent times in all forms of cricket but again in the absence of Sehwag, Gambhir would have been an ideal player to have in those co

Three Jeers! Today is Spam Day!
The Computer Cat's Corner

If you want to impress your geeky friends out there, wish them a “Happy Spam Day” today!  And if you want to annoy your I.T. Administrators, wish them a “Happy Spam Day”, too. Spam is more than that delectable salty luncheon meat made up of unidentified animal by-products. It is the term coined to describe the electronic equivalent of postal junk mail. There are actually two Spam Days:  Way back in the days of big mainframe computers, the first documented “electronic junk mail” was sent on May 3rd, 1978.   But it was on March 31st, 1993 that the name “Spam” was first used to describe an unwanted mass transmission that was sent across the ‘Net. As the Internet became more available to more people in the world, so did the proliferation of Spam.  Now you can’t open your e-mail without being blasted with tons of claims of big discounts on drugs, ways to enhance (certain areas of the body), and how you can make big money by forwarding this e-mail to a hundred friends. So in keep

Never Enough
The Mind of James

I don’t know why I am almost always on the defensive with people.  I don’t even know why I constantly feel like I am under sustained assault.  There aren’t any words that can convey the kind of fear that grips me most of the time these days, and I’m always afraid of it all falling apart.  If I were just a little better, just a little smarter, a little stronger, a little better-looking… actually, scratch “a little”.  There is a lot that I wish I was a lot more of.  A lot smarter would help.  At least maybe then I could figure out what the hell is keeping me in this constant state of duress. It’s ironic because usually the first and last thing I want to do or be is the impediment or the person that is in someone else’s way.  Used to be that I would just get out of everyone’s way, and that was my ultimate goal in life: get enough money together, live apart from the rest of the world somewhere (either in space or in a cabin somewh
