Hovik & Anahit’s Wedding was one beautiful wedding.  From their family to the flowers, everything and everyone was just amazing.  Knowing that it was raining, Hovik had booked a hotel as a backup, but with their luck, as soon as we got to Downtown, the sun came out shinning.   Not only did we have an amazing weather, but the clouds were just amazing.  We don’t usually get these type of clouds in LA, but I guess God was smiling down on them. Thank you for making me a part of your special day.   I’ll keep this short, enjoy the images and come back soon to see more upcoming beautiful weddings.  Also, you may now sign up to get email notifications as soon as the blog is updated.

Previously we posted a total of 7 series of Hendra & Siska’s pre-wedding pictures, and now we have come to the conclusion. Below is the video compilation of all their pictures that were taken in Sydney. The video titled 365+1 narrates 365 days of their courtship and +1 represents the 366th day which was the day Hendra proposed Siska under the romantic lights of Harbour Bridge with a beautiful Tiffany diamond ring.

Wedding Fayre at the Cwrt Bleddyn

The first big wedding fayre of the year is now over and done with – and boy am I glad. It was great to meet all those brides and grooms though – I sometimes think I get as excited as they do!!

The staff at the Cwrt Bleddyn are great and provided tea, coffee and sandwhiches which as a welcome for me!

Weather was damned cold though, must have been about -1 all day though it didnt stop the brides coming along.

I got some great leads and have spent today chasing them up.

Apple iPad

Wow – did you see Steve Jobs launch the new Apple iPad??!! No, I didn’t either – I was on a photo shoot!!

As is typical of the hype when Apple launches new gadgets there was lots of media cover etc etc. What I want to know is how come Apple manage to keep things like this under wraps for soooo long without anyone getting an idea of what the details are??!! Please, can we have Apple security division running Mi5 or Mi6 ??!!

Anyway, to the gist of the post. The iPad – any good for photographers?

I’ve not read loads on the new machine, not much on the way of tech specs etc but the first thing that springs to mind is being able to use it as a storage facility when your out and about. (Ok, not sure how were gonna get the images from the camera into the iPad without some other gadget…) At 65Gb it is a pretty hefty drive size, much better than the usual 30Gb on the portable viewers that are about.

It would also give you the option of getting a dammed decent look at the images so you can do basic deleting, sorry editing! (Come on Adobe – how about a PS4 Lite for the iPad??!!!)

Next thing that springs to mind is being able to use it to show clients your images – the ultimate hand held portfolio. A device like this just brings the convergence of digital art closer.

Next on my think list is to use it as a photo-viewer at wedding fayres, wedding shoots and the like. Lets face it, is is gonna be a lot cheaper than the standard stuff you can get from Currys or Dixons – a bigger screen and it can do much more as well. All we need is a stand….

Next for me would be to catch up on the old CPD – Continuous Professional Development. I can read photography books, watch short film clips (I do like the Digital Photography Connection stuff) and surf the web via the in built WiFi. (Im not sure about paying another £81 for 3G though!!! and I’d have to have contract on top of that as I can’t see O2 giving me a dual sim!!)

Next up for me would be as a tool for updating my website via an iPad version of iWeb (if there is one? If not COME ON APPLE!!!!). I can shoot a wedding and whilst having a break get some images uploaded almost straight away!!

Given it’s size it looks good, the demos look good so it just remains to be seen what it is like in real life…

We’re back. Now with somemore updates from Kamal and Rohaizah. You might have seen a lot of their pictures here in MCM website, now we are adding more of their lovely picas. Sbb diorang nie amik Tunang, Kahwin, Bersanding, Bertandang with us, MCM decided to give them free PostWedding Session for the lovely couple. It was a fine beautiful morning at Putrajaya. The session starts a bit late at 9am and finishes around 12.30pm. Byk moment were captured and some of them are as showcased below. So, enjoy…

This was our first wedding of 2010, and what a wedding it was.  I was pumped up from 2009 and I knew I had to do something special. For their pre-wedding, they were very nervous, but as you can tell, for the wedding, they were ready  We started early at Bella Nella, which is always a pleasure  to be in their salon.  Then, to the bride’s house which was packed with family and friends, and they had a great party.  Then out to the photo location, which was owned by one of my clients, and they agreed to rent it out for the wedding shoot.  It’s a gorgeous house, with a crazy view.  I’ll let the pictures tell the story.  The reception was at the amazing Taglyan Hall in Hollywood and Ara K. was the singer.  Again, thank you for making me a part of your special day. 

It’s been a while since I’ve been to the beach, but today I got a chance to go back.  The sunset was beautiful and the weather, nice, at least for me, since I was out of the water, not so much for the couple though…lol.  What I love about the ocean is that you always get something new and unique.  The waves are never the same, and the skies project some unique colors.

I recently realized that no one is quite as enthralled by my wedding details as I am.  And you know what? That’s ok.

I took Friday off to spend 3 days focused on the wedding.  We are now officially 3 months out (90 days!) and it feels like everything is speeding up.

I drove down to Orange County on Thursday because I had a 9am with the florist.  Mind you, this isn’t the woman I’ve been working with since I interviewed florists. No, this is the owner of the company because my contact has since taken a day job.  I would be upset, except that I was now working with the owner, so I expected much better service from here on out.  I had gathered my Maid of Honor and my mother-in-law at the venue to meet with Xavi at 9.  Walked all around the venue – no Xavi.  Called her.  Apparently she forgot.  I was in her calendar for 9, but for some reason, she thought our meeting was at 11.

We left and checked out a nearby hotel to recommend to our visitors.  The Embassy Suites on Dyer Road in Santa Ana are fantastic.  The staff is calm and professional and the rooms are large and clean.  Check that off my list.

We met with the caterer at 11.  There are not enough kind words to share how I feel about Ann at Jays Catering.  She’s professional, prompt, and genuinely interested in how my wedding is progressing.  Every time I go in expecting to have to spend an hour I’m out in 30 minutes.  Every decision has been so easy and she’s been great about all of the changes I’ve made over the year.

Back to the venue to meet with the florist – who was late for our rescheduled meeting.  We made a ton of changes.  She kept trying to upsell me after I told her we are over budget.  She wasn’t helpful in trying to find alternatives that would stay in my budget.  She was rude and disorganized and I’m scared for my wedding (though I’m sure it will be beautiful).

Saturday the Maid of Honor, my mom, and my grandma went to David’s Bridal at Metro Pointe to have my first fitting.  As I thought, I needed to exchange my dress for a smaller size (YAY!).  However, it might not get here until April 16 and that’s a tight turnaround for alterations.  I’m sure that it will work out.

Now if we can just get the invitations out, I’ll be happy for a few hours

Our most favorite couple, Jason and Singyun is also one of our first clients.
They both are into sports especially running and cycling, so we thought of item that represents them in this picnic-themed shoot . If you noticed the white bicycle in the pictures, it is their masterpiece. they spent quite some time to find the perfect material and paint.

We had a rough day as it rained all day but thanks to our couple who remained positive and believed in us, we came out with great pictures!
