In sobriety there is a circle amongst those not laden in Ambien Grace; fake it until you make it!

Up until five months ago, I attempted to fake it until I made it. However, IT had nothing to do with drinking. Or, perhaps, the act of sex itself would have been made a little more enticing had I been drinking.

And, Ambien Annie only knows and she ain’t tellin’.

The best depiction thus far off FAKING an orgasm is in the film When Harry Met Sally. Meg Ryan all cute and innocent sits quietly in a breakfast nook with Billy Crystal. The man of course, claims, you couldn’t have been fakin’ it. You can tell the difference…everyone knows that.

Well, apparently, Billy, Ambien Annie, Gracie Lou Freebush and all the self absorbed sexual deviants out there, you are absolutely wrong.

Meg goes on to moan, grind, sigh and state, ‘oh, God!’

Yup! That’s pretty much how it is done.

If you find yourself unfortunate enough to be absorbed into the dumbed down generation with a younger lover…you don’t even have to try that hard. A few hints to those still thinking their sexual prowl-ness is still going on…when indeed it has sunk like the Titanic.

1. Oh, stop, it’s too much…I can’t take anymore. A young lover will take that as, great, I’ve hit the mark. A smart person would understand that as; I should pack up my bat and ball and go home. I’ve struck out!

2. Oh, God, oh, God, oh, God. Again, dumbed down and dyed blonde’s would insist that is a sign of the eight wonder of the world…their fantastical ability in the bedroom. An old sexy sage understands that their partner is very against organized religion and therefore, the word, GOD would only mean; put an end to this madness.

3. You don’t have to please me. I like being the one who does all the work. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. If you honestly believe you are that deserving of one sided foreplay then you should go it alone. Generally, kids, if both sides aren’t playing in the game, the game should be called on account of Foul Play!

4. I like it when you’re on the bottom it turns me on. Women and in particularly those females calling themselves lesbians. Get this, if you are constantly on the bottom, loose some weight. It is as plain and simple as the horror stricken look on your bathroom scale every time you dismount. You are purposefully asked to be on the bottom for the air space is crowded any other way.

Aghast, at what little effort it took to hook and bait my catfish, Ambien Annie. It spoiled the crop when we had to go at it each and every waking hour of the day. Sex is sex is sex. Bad sex repeatedly can wear on the psyche and erode what little energy you have when the good stuff comes around.

Perhaps, a point of sedation is needed when forcing and faking an orgasm. I would ask my partner but so far we haven’t needed any pointers.

Got myself a habit
Gotta find a way to make it
Ain’t no one to help me
Gotta do it on my own

Gotta give you credit
Thinking that we’re gonna’ make it
I made the decision
I’m better off alone

Trying to get out of
Messed up situations
Trying to come up with
A reason not to go

I can’t believe you buy it
Every time I try to fake it
You didn’t think I like it
Anytime, (but yes I don’t (?))
No!

So I guess I’m on my way
This is all I got to say

Hee-hee-yeah-hee-yeah!
Don’t try to stop me!
No, no, no!

Seeing what you’re made of
That was such a revelation
Finally realizing
I wasted time to long

Try to win a battle
? never conversation
Staying in a ?
When everything feels wrong

Hard to be an angel
When I’m sleeping with the devil, yeah
Hard to be a good girl
When you treated me so bad

You and me together
Ain’t no winning combination
You were such a player
And I ain’t gonna play along
So I guess I’m on my way
This is all I got to say

The seven deadly sins

“I had a chance to give a talk to some newspaper publishers last May. They wanted me to say something sensible about the future of newspapers. I suggested to them that instead of organizing their paper according to international news, national news, regional news and so on, they should use the seven deadly sins and have lust, greed, gluttony, sloth, and so on, and then categorize the stories in those ways.” ~ Neil Postman

VIDEO – Neil Postman: Informing Ourselves to Death | Richard Heffner’s Open Mind | THIRTEEN – http://www.thirteen.org/openmind/media/neil-postman-informing-ourselves-to-death/1095/

The seven deadly sins are seven good, normal, and healthy aspects of the human personality which, when taken to excessive extremes, become sinful.

The seven deadly sins are: pride, wrath, greed, sloth, lust, envy, and gluttony

Pride is the first and most deadly of the seven deadly sins, and from it all others flow…

Pride is the healthy self-image, which is taken to a sinful extreme, becoming arrogance and hubris.

Greed is the healthy accumulation of goods and money, which is taken to the extreme of hoarding these for the sake gaining personal pleasure.

Lust is the healthy sexual drive and desire, which runs amok in a never ending pursuit of fleeting, personal, sexual pleasure.

Envy is the healthy ambition to improve oneʼs own condition, which goes beyond ambition into a resentment of those who have what we want, yet cannot have, or have not yet attained.

Gluttony is the desire to make oneʼs body feel good, such as by eating and drinking in order to remove the pangs of hunger and thirst, or of enjoying the pleasures of food and drink by taking pleasure in them, which are healthy desires, that has removed these healthy limits by pursuing food and drink to an excess of pleasure, even to the point of being in bondage to them, in the form of the habitual abuse of these things, which goes far beyond what these good things are intended for.

Sloth is the good of rest and sleep taken to the sinful extreme of laziness and the loss of the desire to work.

Anger is our natural sense that justice has (somehow) been violated, which is taken to a sinful extreme, resulting in the fury of violence and vengeance.

Pride is excessive belief in one’s own abilities, that interferes with the individual’s recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

Envy is the desire for others’ traits, status, abilities, or situation.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.

Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.

Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.

Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.

How to conquer the seven deadly sins, and bring our lives into balance

The seven contrary virtues are: humility, kindness, abstinence, chastity, patience, liberality, diligence

The Contrary Virtues were derived from the Psychomachia (“Battle for the Soul”), an epic poem written by Prudentius (c. 410). Practicing these virtues is alledged to protect one against temptation toward the Seven Deadly Sins: humility against pride, kindness against envy, abstinence against gluttony, chastity against lust, patience against anger, liberality against greed, and diligence against sloth.

All of us are engaged in a personal, ongoing battle with sin and vice. The seven deadly sins–lust, greed, envy, anger, pride, gluttony, and sloth–are our main antagonists in this struggle. They are primary causes of unhappiness and immorality, and because of their pervasive nature, have been of perennial interest to religious thinkers, philosophers, dramatists, and poets.

Although our anger doesn’t make most of us murderers, our lust doesn’t make most of us rapists, and our greed and envy don’t make most of us outright criminals, they, together with gluttony, arrogance, and sloth, often make us, and those who have to live with us, miserable. One need only read the daily paper to see that these seven sins are alive and well, deadlier than ever, spawning violence and suffering, illness and anxiety, loss of meaning and depression. An arrogant yuppie considers suicide after losing his job on Wall Street, which had been the fragile basis of his false pride. A distinguished senator and a prominent judge destroy their careers and wound their female victims with their lust. Millions of men and women, distraught about their body image, subject themselves to liposuction, breast and hair implants because of their gluttony or vanity.

People at the pinnacle of economic power fall into the abyss of prison because they could not control their avarice.

In The Seven Deadly Sins, Solomon Schimmel explains why psychology must incorporate many of the ethical and spiritual values of religion and moral philosophy if it is to effectively address the emotional problems faced by modern men and women, be they believers or agnostics. Drawing on the psychological insights of the Bible, Aristotle, Maimonides, Aquinas, and Shakespeare, among others, he shows how all of us can learn from them about the relationship between virtue and psychological well-being and vice and emotional distress.

This insightful and fascinating work guides us to master our passions rather than be enslaved by them so that we can become more humane and build a happier, caring society.

People in US always show a great sign of respect and welcome to any advancement in technology that comes their way. One such convenience they accepted immediately is the introduction of online pharmacies. The Canadian pharmacy online gives the comfort of shopping medicines to their people, because all they need to do is to just fax up the prescription and pay online to get home the necessary drugs. Customers are given the facility to create an account with the pharmacy websites, so you can feel free to log in any time to maintain your account, to view the previous history of medicines you have purchased and everything.

It is mainly the economical pricing of medicines and availability of all type of medicines at one platform that makes people really vote for the online pharmacies. If you want to buy drugs from the local stores, you will definitely find it tough to get all the medicines at one place, so you will have to travel to different shops to find different kind of medicines you and your family intakes. The sites have facilitated fast ordering system on their sites, so getting medicines need not separate date or time. You can just do it in the middle of your work during office hours or late night when browsing general stuffs.

When you have chosen a licensed Canadian pharmacy online, you have to sign up a medical history form with them, which helps them understand your health better and to help you better. It is also very essential to produce a prescription from a licensed medical practitioner for all the medicines you purchase from them.

It is right that you might have heard about too many fake pharmacy websites operating online, therefore it is your due responsibility to check if the site you have chosen to order your medicines is a licensed vendor. To know the details, you can log on the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities website and check if the URL of the pharmacy website you have chosen is listed there. Unless it is found in the regulatory body website, you are advised not to go for it.

Online pharmacy websites have appointed licensed pharmacists to check your prescription and to give you proper medical guidance and other health benefit tips in accordance to your personal medical history. Therefore, you can definitely benefit from the Canadian online pharmacies.

The field of mental health will face its greatest upset in years on Saturday with the publication of the long-awaited and deeply-controversial US manual for diagnosing mental disorders.

Early drafts of the book, the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, or DSM-5, have divided medical opinion so firmly that authors of previous editions are among the most prominent critics.

Known informally as the psychiatrists’ bible, the $199 tome from the American Psychiatric Association is the guidebook that US doctors will use to diagnose mental disorders. The latest edition is the first major update in 20 years.

Though not used in the UK, where doctors turn to the World Health Organisation’s International Statistical Classification of Diseases (ICD), the US manual has global influence. It defines groups of patients, and introduces new names for disorders. Those names can spread, and become the norm elsewhere. More importantly, the categories redefine the populations that are targeted by drugs companies.

Criticisms have come from almost every corner. There are claims of expansionism, with common experiences and behaviours becoming newly medicalised. Temper tantrums become disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD); grief becomes major depressive disorder (MDD), according to Allen Frances, an American psychiatrist who chaired the task force behind the fourth edition of the manual. Other behaviours get their own labels: overeating becomes binge eating disorder; keeping too much junk, a hoarding disorder; a bit forgetful could be mild neurocognitive disorder.

David Clark, professor of experimental psychology at Oxford University, said mental health disorders are often hard to divide into clear categories, because too little is known about them, and there can be major overlaps. But the definitions are often valuable. For example, greater distinctions between various types of anxiety have led to more specific and effective treatments, he said.

Nick Craddock, professor of psychiatry at Cardiff University, and director of the National Centre for Mental Health in Wales, said some of the stranger aspects of the US manual will have no impact in Britain. But he said DSM-5 was flawed because definitions of disorders were sometimes changed on the basis of too little fresh scientific evidence.

“I don’t believe the science has advanced sufficiently in 20 years since DSM-4 to warrant making a new system,” he said. “That essentially is just a group of people agreeing on tweaking things and making them a little bit different. That to me is not a very helpful stage in the develop of psychiatric diagnosis. This is the wrong time in history to change the diagnostic system. “

Changing the definitions of disorders alters who has them. That affects who gets drugs and other support, and who interventions are trialled on. If the criteria for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are broadened, then more people are likely to be diagnosed with the condition.

The arrival of DSM-5 will mark the end of Asperger’s syndrome in the US.

Along with some other autism-related conditions, Asperger’s will now be consumed by the new category of “autism spectrum disorder”.

Some people diagnosed with Asperger’s are unhappy about the coming change. Carol Povey, director of the National Autistic Society‘s Centre for Autism, said: “The term Asperger Syndrome is a core part of their identity for many people and they understandably feel anxious about moves to remove the term. The changes won’t prevent people from continuing to use it to define themselves and nor should it,” she said.

Debbie Tucker, chair of the Asperger’s Syndrome Foundation, said the label can be useful in treating people, but that some did not want to be labelled. “Labels only become unhelpful and sometimes dangerous if used to discriminate. People with Aspergers are vulnerable to this,” she said.

Last month, Thomas Insel, director of the National Institute of Mental Health, declared that the organisation would not use DSM-5 definitions to set its research priorities. Writing about DSM-5 on his blog, he said: “The weakness is its lack of validity. Unlike our definitions of ischaemic heart disease, lymphoma, or AIDS, the DSM diagnoses are based on a consensus about clusters of clinical symptoms, not any objective laboratory measure.” Instead, he said the NIHM would lay the foundations for a new classification system, based on brain imaging, genetics, cognitive science and other research.

“We need to begin collecting the genetic, imaging, physiologic, and cognitive data to see how all the data – not just the symptoms – cluster and how these clusters relate to treatment response,” he said.

In order for your body to take advantage of all the nutrients you ingest, it is important that you k

In order for your body to take advantage of all the nutrients you ingest, it is important that you keep your insides clean. Our immune system is largely contained within our bowels. Good health begins in the gut.

We live in a toxic environment; from pesticides and strange ingredients in our food, to polluted air, harsh chemicals in our cleaning and beauty products, prescription drugs and excessive stress. Ninety percent of these toxins enter your bloodstream through the intestinal tract. Toxins suppress the natural, self-healing mechanisms in our body. Our poor liver gets overloaded, trying to do its main job of keeping the body clean and functional. If it can’t keep up, many of the body’s systems begin to malfunction.

Auto-intoxication is when the body is overloaded with toxins to the point that the liver cannot process and eliminate them effectively. Instead, they are passed back through the colon wall to the bloodstream where they can cause all kinds of problems and may be deposited in various parts of the body.

As food passes through the intestines, it is digested and we gain the vitamins and nutrients (or chemicals, pesticides and toxins). However, valuable minerals and nutrients are not entirely absorbed through the intestinal tract because it is lined with solidified fecal matter. Yes, this is not a pretty visual but imagine (for only a moment) a tube lined with solid, dark, tar-like matter. Humans were mean to eliminate in the squat position – not at a 90 degree angle on a toilet. The 90 degree angle does not maximize the exit of solids like the squat (a squat position is also excellent for childbirth!). The average toilet does not help us eliminate but those funny toilets you find in Japan and in old corners of Europe (the ones you have to squat over) are actually far healthier. Over time, given the coiling shape of the intestine, there is a certain amount of natural build-up from food particles. If not flushed, these particles build up to form a tar like layer that prevents the vitamins in food from being absorbed into the body. As the food goes through the upper and lower intestine and into the stomach, many positive nutrients are not absorbed because of the fecal barrier. What is the solution you ask?

Cleansing. Not only will you cleanse away that fecal matter and reap the benefits of more nutrients being absorbed more rapidly into your system, but, (as my first colonist explained) we carry particles that rest in our intestines that send signals to the brain asking for more. They are like stored memories that remind us that cookies and cigarettes are delightful – why not have another? Cleansing wipes clean the programming implanted in our guts.

The problem is that the intestine is very large. So cleaning it takes time and is an operation that should be undertaken on a regular basis – be that every year or every four months. It depends on how toxic and how disciplined you are. I don’t believe in over cleansing. The body functions perfectly on its own as long as you don’t damage or inhibit its mechanisms. Too much cleansing can destroy the delicate balance of good and bad bacteria.

On a daily basis, you can increase digestion and help your system by lying on your back, knees bent and feet on floor and rubbing your tummy in a slow clock-wise motion. This will help move the food. Also, those of you who do regular sit-ups are pushing food along! Most importantly, you should try to chew your food thoroughly as the more pureed it is before it reaches the intestine, the less work your body has to do to break it down and the faster you will reap the benefits of all the minerals and vitamins. Juicing and eating pureed foods such as soups also helps your body digest more easily and creates less stress. To eliminate more effectively while on the toilet, put your feet up on the trashcan in your bathroom. The act of raising your knees will push waste more effectively from your body.

I recommend you ask your doctor to test you for heavy metals and mineral deficiencies just to see what is going on inside you. From there, you can take action. A colonic every six months is very effecting for sparkling, tighter skin and a cleanse every 3 to 4 months is also effective (see an excellent cleanse in the below book). Also, once a week you should have a liquid day – juice, water, soups to help the body detoxify more effectively. We need to re-train ourselves on how we treat our body.

The fewer toxins you have in your body the more efficiently your body will function. Cells will be protected and your skin’s collagen and elasticity will flourish. They say that after the first 2-3 colonics your skin takes on the radiance of a pregnant woman. I can confirm this! I can also confirm that the first few times you have a colonic you can lose from 5-10 pounds in your gut of stored matter. Gross but yay!

If you are serious about anti-aging and staying healthy, I recommend you purchase:

Clean by Alejandro Junger

It’s a big, big, big wake up call.

NaturalNews

by: Carolanne Wright

April 18, 2013

America has one of the highest rates of bipolar disease in the world with a staggering 5.7 million adults diagnosed. Characterized by periods of bone crushing depression swinging to cycles of mania, the disorder can destroy families and finances while shortening lifespan due to high suicide rates. Yet the disease has varying degrees of severity and often goes unrecognized. To make matters worse, the mainstream medical establishment consistently advocates pharmaceutical drugs as a universal panacea. Sadly, these treatments are rife with side-effects. In response, many are beginning to seek alternatives to conventional medicine – and finding success with natural remedies.

Cycles of heaven and hell

Bipolar I is the most dramatic manifestation of the disease. Patterns of intense euphoria, inflated self-esteem and a racing mind alternate with depressive periods of anxiety, fatigue and suicidal thoughts or behavior. It causes significant disruptions and problems in family life, work and school. The manic episodes can be extremely dangerous as the person feels ‘invincible.’ The suicide rate during depressive episodes falls between 10 and 20 percent

Bipolar II is less severe. Elevated moods alternate with irritability or depression, but the individual is generally functional. Hypomania, a moderate form of mania, is present. Periods of depression tend to be more lengthy than cycles of elation.

Cyclothymic disorder is the most mild type of bipolar disease. Hypomania and depression can be troublesome, but the highs and lows tend to be easier to manage.

Due to the more subtle manifestations of bipolar II and cyclothymic disorder, both are frequently diagnosed as depression and drugged accordingly. However, this often aggravates the situation as antidepressants trigger manic episodes in 5 to 10 percent of patients. The drugs also carry the common side-effects of weight gain along with loss of libido and mental clarity.

Building a solid foundation for a calm mind

Instead of immediately resorting to pharmaceutical drugs, lifestyle and nutritional choices offer an alternative. Since stability of mind is closely linked with diet, nutrient dense meals are imperative. Several ounces of cold water fish like wild-caught salmon, mackerel and herring should be consumed daily. Likewise, supplementing with high-quality fish oils helps support proper brain chemistry as well. In fact, countries that have the highest consumption of fish (Japan, Iceland, Korea, Taiwan and Puerto Rico) also have the lowest rates of bipolar disease.

Vegetables, fruit, potatoes, seaweed, lemons, eggs, seeds and nuts are also beneficial.

Adequate levels of magnesium are important too. According to the nutritional website Food For the Brain:

“Magnesium is interesting in bipolar disorder because of its chemical similarity to lithium (lithium being the drug most commonly used as a mood stabilizer). In fact, there is some evidence that the drug lithium may attach to the places inside the cell where magnesium is supposed to attach. In studies (Chouinard, Giannini), some people with bipolar disorder or other psychiatric illnesses had differences in the amounts of magnesium in their blood. There have been some studies where magnesium was added to other treatments to stop symptoms of mania or rapid cycling.”

Individuals suffering from bipolar disorder should avoid the following: wheat and any gluten-containing food, sugar, caffeine, high-salt foods, bananas, grapefruit juice, fermented cheese, champagne, red wine, liver, soy sauce and chocolate.

Seeing that stress can exacerbate the condition, lifestyle support is helpful. Yoga, meditation, mild exercise and therapies such as Holotropic Breathwork have received positive feedback from those suffering with the disease.

Fortunately, the Swiss National Advisory Commission on Biomedical Ethics (NEK, President: Otfried Höffe) critically commented on the use of the ADHD drug Ritalin in its opinion of 22 November 2011 titled Human enhancement by means of pharmacological agents1: The consumption of pharmacological agents altered the child’s behavior without any contribution on his or her part.

That amounted to interference in the child’s freedom and personal rights, because pharmacological agents induced behavioral changes but failed to educate the child on how to achieve these behavioral changes independently. The child was thus deprived of an essential learning experience to act autonomously and emphatically which “considerably curtails children’s freedom and impairs their personality development”, the NEK criticized.

The alarmed critics of the Ritalin disaster are now getting support from an entirely different side. The German weekly Der Spiegel quoted in its cover story on 2 February 2012 the US American psychiatrist Leon Eisenberg, born in 1922 as the son of Russian Jewish immigrants, who was the “scientific father of ADHD” and who said at the age of 87, seven months before his death in his last interview:

“ADHD is a prime example of a fictitious disease”2

Since 1968, however, some 40 years, Leon Eisenberg’s “disease” haunted the diagnostic and statistical manuals, first as “hyperkinetic reaction of childhood”, now called “ADHD”. The use of ADHD medications in Germany rose in only eighteen years from 34 kg (in 1993) to a record of no less than 1760 kg (in 2011) – which is a 51-fold increase in sales! In the United States every tenth boy among ten year-olds already swallows an ADHD medication on a daily basis. With an increasing tendency.

Everyone wants a quick fix, that too without much of efforts. Surgery, weight loss pills/diet pills seems to be an easy way out. The questions are “Is it safe” “Does it work”. Let examine Weight Loss Pills or Diet Pills in detail.

I had a seizure yesterday in front of my mom. To emphasize how clumsy I am, I should mention that I landed on my face. Yes, you read that right–I landed on my face. Now, in addition to feeling like I’ve been run over by an elephant, I also have a giant lump on my head. Unfortunately, seizures can be caused by Wellbutrin, which I am taking. While I was allowed to leave and go home for the night, I’m terrified to know what this means for the future.

Clearly, I have to stop the Wellbutrin. This knowledge feels like ripping my heart out. I constantly tell my doctors that the drug saved my life. Literally. I’m still extremely depressed, but I don’t take a knife to my skin on a weekly basis, nor do I have the immensely tempting suicidal thoughts. I would do nearly anything to never feel that way again.

I don’t know what to do. I feel like the life I have been experiencing is over. I don’t want to go back to the crying fits, or the gripping feeling of nothing but utter darkness in my life. It’s like I finally saw a sliver of sunshine through the cracks, and now the window’s been boarded up. I’ve tried Prozac, Celexa, Cymbalta, Trazodone, and other medications- all to no avail. In addition, I am in therapy and participate in sessions at least once a week. I must say, Wellbutrin was the only one that helped made it just a fraction easier to get out of bed every day.

I just want to be happy. I’m suffering from depression now, but I don’t ever want to have to go back to what I was feeling last fall. Ever.

I’m scared.

Reports indicate that prescribing for all types of pain is inadequate. There is a paucity of empirical data across South Asia regarding the mechanisms and extent of the diversion and misuse of pharmaceutical opioids, although the problem is widely acknowledged. India is believed to account for significant large-scale diversion within the region and further afield through poor regulation of licit opioid production and pharmacies. A recent decline in use of natural opiates has been accompanied by an increase in pharmaceutical opioid misuse and increasingly, injection, particularly in Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan.”

Millions of Americans take PPIs to alleviate the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition marked by food and acid in the stomach leaking back into the esophagus and causing damage.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued at least a dozen warnings about the dangers of PPIs, which include an increased risk of bacterial diarrhea, magnesium deficiency, and bone fractures (http://www.fda.gov). Long-term consumption of PPIs has also been linked to increased risk of pneumonia and unhealthy weight gain.

2) Statins. The top-selling class of drugs for several years in a row, statins are hailed by the medical system as a type of miracle cure for high cholesterol and heart disease. But popular statin drugs like Lipitor (atorvastatin calcium) and Crestor (rosuvastatin calcium) have been shown to greatly increase users’ risk of diabetes, liver disease, brain damage, muscle atrophy, and even early death. (http://www.drfranklipman.com)

The side effects of statins are so severe, in fact, that the FDA recently expanded its official warnings about their use (http://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm293330.htm). Beyond this, more than a dozen studies have shown that taking statins for primary prevention does little, if anything, to prevent heart attack or stroke, which means the drug class is medically useless for the millions of otherwise healthy people who are prescribed it. (http://www.minnpost.com)

3) Antibiotics. The leading cause of antibiotic-resistant “superbugs,” antibiotics are another class of drugs that can cause long-term health problems without providing much, if any, benefit. Insanely overprescribed for conditions that often do not even respond to them, antibiotics and their long-term abuse by the medical system has made many infections more virulent and untreatable.

According to Shane Ellison, M.S., from The People’s Chemist, the three most dangerous antibiotics currently being prescribed are Levaquin (levofloxacin), Vancocin (vancomycin hydrochloride), and Bactrim (trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole). Ellison also lists quinolones, the most commonly prescribed class of antibiotics, as dangerous as well, noting that antibiotics like Cipro (ciprofloxacin), Avelox (moxifloxacin HCL), and Floxin (ofloxacin) can cause severe and permanent disability. (http://thepeopleschemist.com)

4) Antipsychotics. One of the deadliest drug classes, antipsychotics are commonly prescribed for conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe major depression, as well as for many “off-label” conditions such as mild mood disorder and everyday anxiety. But popular antipsychotic drugs like Seroquel (quetiapine fumarate), Abilify (aripiprazole), Risperdal (risperidone), and Zyprexa (olanzapine) have been shown to increase blood sugar levels, elevate lipid and cholesterol levels, and promote weight gain. (http://www.nytimes.com)

But even more concerning is the long-term neurological and brain damage that can result from taking antipsychotics, not to mention the greatly elevated risk of metabolic syndrome, which can include major health conditions like cardiovascular disease and diabetes (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/11/121127190016.htm). Antipsychotics are so dangerous that a study published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) declared them to be more deadly than terrorism. (http://www.naturalnews.com)

5) Opioid pain relievers. Pharmaceutical drugs have officially been declared a leading cause of death in America today, and leading the way are opioid-based painkillers like Vicodin (hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen), OxyContin (oxycodone HCI), Percocet (oxycodone and acetaminophen), codeine, and morphine.

According to a study out of Brandeis University in Massachusetts, prescription painkillers are now responsible for causing more fatal overdoses than both heroin and cocaine combined. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has actually declared an epidemic in response to this elevated number of prescription painkiller deaths. (http://www.naturalnews.com)

6) Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Antidepressants like Prozac (fluoxetine), Zoloft (sertraline), Paxil (paroxetine), and Lexapro (escitalopram) have been around for years, but their dangers typically receive far less attention than they deserve. Side effects like suicidal tendencies, sexual dysfunction, gastrointestinal bleeding, and heart disease are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the many side effects of SSRIs.

Providing Free Overdose Reversal Kits to Participants Mineola, NY – Nassau County Executive E

Providing Free Overdose Reversal Kits to Participants

Mineola, NY – Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Legislative Presiding Officer Norma Gonsalves invite residents to a free Drug Overdose Prevention Seminar that teaches non-medically trained residents how to save a live by administering an antidote – Naloxone or Narcan – which reverses the effects of a fatal overdose of prescription drugs or heroin.

Residents, age 18+, who attend the 90 minute forum, will obtain a free life-saving Narcan kit provided by the New York State Health Department. Narcan reverses the potentially deadly effects of Heroin and prescription painkillers, such as Oxycontin and Vicodin, on the body’s respiratory system.

Statistics indicate that the number of heroin and prescription drug-related deaths in Nassau County decreased from 2011 to 2012, while heroin deaths increased year-to-year in Suffolk County. Medical experts praise Nassau County’s Narcan training, along with the Mangano administration’s Education, Awareness and Enforcement efforts, as a reason for the decline. In 2012, Nassau County trained over 430 residents on how to administer Narcan and disseminated free kits.

“My administration’s drug-prevention efforts focus primarily on Education, Awareness and Enforcement. Together with schools, community groups, treatment facilities and the public, we are waging a war on drugs,” County Executive Mangano said. “With Narcan training programs successfully operating in at least 16 states across the nation, Nassau County is the first county in New York State to teach residents who have no medical training to administer this lifesaving antidote to those suffering from a prescription drug or heroin overdose. With too many young people falling victim to drug addiction, we must do all that we can to save their lives and put them on the road to recovery so that they can lead normal and productive lives.”

Legislator Gonsalves added, “Kids are dying from abuse of prescription painkillers far too often and we are stepping up our efforts to warn them of the dangers of misusing drugs, even those given to them by a doctor.”

The next Nassau County Drug Overdose Prevention Seminar will be held on May 15th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Morrelly Homeland Security Center, located at 510 Grumman Road West in Bethpage. Residents must pre-register by contacting Eden Laikin at elaikin@nassaucountyny.gov or (516) 571-6105.

In 2006, the State of New York removed liability from a person who administers Narcan in an attempt to save a life.

HELP! My 17 year old daughter is addicted to Prescription Drugs. I have been banging on doors and screaming from the rooftops to get her help but I am being turned away and having doors closed in my face.

My nightmare began when my daughter was in Grade 7. She was dating an older boy in Grade 9 who introduced her to prescription drugs like Dexedrine, Oxycontin and Clonazepam. As time progressed she started to take her own prescription for ADHD medication to school to sell in order to buy the drugs she really wanted. Her life began to spiral down quickly. Due to her drug use my daughter missed half of Grade 8 with zeros for marks across the board yet the school system pushed her through to Grade 9. She missed half of Grade 9 with equally horrible marks and yet the school system pushed her through to high school. I was in to the school more times than I can count and on the phone daily to speak to her Guidance Counselor asking for help but all the school wanted was to be rid of my daughter and her problems. She is no longer in school. She dropped out essentially in Grade 8.

Three times in the last year my daughter has tried to commit suicide by overdosing on prescription pills. She has Oppositional Defiance Disorder, ADHD, and Compulsive Disorder. She has been cutting and using drugs to numb her pain. She thinks the drugs help her and are her only true friend but they are slowly killing her.

Since 2009 my daughter has been questioned at least 22 times but only charged 3 times for drugs. She was caught in January of this year with 7 cell phones, some sort of hallucinogen, hash oil and marijuana and several prescription pill bottles in her backpack. She was charged with 3 counts of Possession and 1 count of Trafficking yet when she was released the RCMP had to give her prescriptions back to her because they were all in her name. Why would a 17 year old even have multiple prescriptions in her bag in her name? Because she is doctor shopping all up and down the Valley, that’s why! After this arrest she was released to her 49 year old drug dealing “friend” who claims to “love her”. I only found out by accident she was arrested when I called the Crown Attorney on her case to ask about her charges; I was then asked “the Theft charge or the Drug charges?”! I am her Primary Parent yet I was not notified that my underage daughter was even arrested! I have been to every one of her court appearances with only one exception and at her second last appearance on April 4th of this year I asked to address the court to beg the judge to put her in rehab but was kicked out of the courtroom instead!

She travels across the country with her 49 year old drug dealer as his mule but does not see this as a problem. She even took the drug charges for him! She has been stealing from her friends houses for years and has even broke in to her father’s house to steal in order to pay off a drug debt. She has been allowed to do Restorative Justice for stealing from her father for a charge of Theft over $5000.00. She does not need Restorative Justice she needs to be in jail so at least she can get access to the programs offered to criminals to help with her addiction. Unfortunately her father does not see this problem the same way I do. He thinks she is just being a typical teen and tells me to leave her alone. For her part she thinks there is nothing wrong and even if there were it is her life and I should just let her live it the way she wants. She desperately needs help but no one is listening to me.

I have been to Choices program at the IWK, the police, the RCMP, the school, Social Services and the Crown all to no avail. Choices sent a counsellor to my home but my daughter just screamed at them to leave and refused help… so they left. NO ONE IS LISTENING TO ME!!!!!!! Help in Nova Scotia is “voluntary” which means she has to agree to participate but since she does not see her behavior as a problem this system won’t work. As parents we need to have rights in place to be able to get help for our children. We know what is best for them even when they are too sick and defiant to see it themselves.

I have even staged a one woman protest outside of Family Court for 6 hours until someone took pity on me and agreed to take my information and listen to my story. We arranged a Court ordered “Locate and Detain” on November 24, 2011. I finally felt like something was going to be done to help her. I had everything arranged with the Sackville Department of Community Services for when they found my daughter. The Court ordered stated the police were to take her to the Sackville location where a bed in a detox facility was waiting. When they finally located my daughter several days later on Spring Garden Road (she had been living in the Occupy Movement and claimed to be homeless) at 12:30 in the morning the police were forced to take her to the Dartmouth Department of Community Services for After Hours service (apparently the Sackville location was closed at that hour of the morning and they did not have anyone on call). The Social Worker “On Call” in Dartmouth was not impressed to be woken up and told the police she did not have the manpower or resources to handle the situation and told the police to take her home or to her father’s or the Ray Allen Centre where she would be free to walk out as soon as she was released from police custody. The police officer even begged on my behalf but still the Department of Community Services refused to help. I did everything right! I went to the appropriate authorities, made all the arrangements and still the system failed me. The only thing it did was get me a visit 58 days later from a social worker wanting to check on my three year old daughter to make sure she was not being harmed by her sister’s drug use! I was furious, I wanted help for my then 15 year old addicted daughter who is slowly dying in front of me and their only concern was my 3 year old who I made sure was safe!

The system in Nova Scotia is killing my daughter. I am watching her die a little more every single day and I am powerless to stop her. I want a judge to order her in to a long-term treatment facility or jail not to have her father write an essay for her on why she needs to apologize for robbing him! She went back to Court on May 2 at 9:30 am to face the Theft over $5000.00 Charge and again at 1:30 pm to face the Drug charges. I was there fighting for get her help she so desperately needs. Instead all charges were dropped due to a deal made with Prosecution that the Crown Attorney was not at liberty to discuss with me, her mother and legal guardian. I was told it was between the Crown, my daughter and her lawyer. I once again left the court in tears feeling helpless. How do I help my daughter now?

My greatest fear is that I am going to be one of the other mothers on this site who come forward to tell the stories of how their children have died from Prescription Drugs. Can someone please help me save my daughter’s life? I am begging!

Signed,

The “Affordable Health care Act” is actually none cost-effective, or health-related. IRS

The “Affordable Health care Act” is actually none cost-effective, or health-related. IRS estimations the cheapest household package deal with $20,1000 annually, understanding that won’t cover all of the charges!

And it is not healthcare–it’s medical treatment, a leading cause of disease, impairment and also dying. Health care along with health care are usually inversely related–the a lot more capsules many of us consider, the more serious our health gets via adverse unwanted effects since drugs are substances that grow to be dangerous in the body.

The Western Log of Medicine reported 199,000 hospital deaths via Rx drug treatments, price 116 trillion patients noticed a health care provider correctly, Eight thousand acceptance on the healthcare facility and 3 trillion acceptance to be able to long-term treatment (messed up for lifetime, described 06, Year 2000).

Nobel Award winner Hans Krebs ended up being concerned about interior polluting of the environment. Decades ago he explained a large number of individuals keep on going for a substance following they have helped these people when it is not required and he mentioned a lot over-prescribing by many people medical professionals. What might he state now with Four billion dollars solutions designed in 2011–that’s Thirteen prescriptions for every gentleman, girl and also child.

Perhaps the best view of drugs ‘s what they create you to at the conclusion. In case you question the average patient taking 12 medications every day, (an elderly care facility typical), How are generally issues going? you can find their urge for food and energy are gone along with their contemplating is actually unclear. Older persons may even stay at home the actual elderly care facility hallway as well as fill their nappy because they stare directly into room, pondering it is all totally fine!

Massive gov wants to control medical treatment also, since there may be money inside. Individuals need to consume, beverage, smoking and neglect on their own. They are elements within very high cost hospitalization. “If thousands want to stay that way, how is it that somebody that life very carefully be after tax to pay for his or her hospital bills?Inch Nowhere will the Metabolic rate offer authorities “healthcare.Inches Having faith in the federal government on this will not great.

Generate. Marcia Angell, former publisher of the New Britain Journal of Medicine, written a magazine, “The Reality Concerning the Medicine Organizations: Where did they Trick Us” The girl instructed 60 Mins (1990′s) that pharma uses $400 trillion a year upon congressional reelection campaigns. My spouse and i visited All of us Economic council chair offices to discuss Rx drug treatments like a major reason behind disease and also dying because based on medical books, and something senator mentioned, “You are usually squandering your moment… They personal us.In .

Progressively more medical professionals are generally since condition can be reversible along with nourishment supplying what the body demands and that we should take duty for the very own health care. No one really cares about our overall health just like perform as well as are able to do.

By Paul W. Andrews, Lyndsey Gott & J. Anderson Thomson, Jr.

Antidepressant medication is the most commonly prescribed treatment for people with depression. They are also commonly prescribed for other conditions, including bipolar depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, chronic pain syndromes, substance abuse and anxiety and eating disorders. According to a 2011 report released by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about one out of every ten people (11%) over the age of 12 in the US is on antidepressant medications. Between 2005 and 2008, antidepressants were the third most common type of prescription drug taken by people of all ages, and they were the most frequently used medication by people between the ages of 18 and 44. In other words, millions of people are prescribed antidepressants and are affected by them each year.

The conventional wisdom is that antidepressant medications are effective and safe. However, the scientific literature shows that the conventional wisdom is flawed. While all prescription medications have side effects, antidepressant medications appear to do more harm than good as treatments for depression. We reviewed this evidence in a recent article published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology (freely available here).

Antidepressants are only moderately effective during treatment and relapse is common

The risk of relapse is increased after antidepressant medication has been discontinued

Antidepressants may increase the risks of breast cancer, but may protect against brain cancers

Antidepressants may cause cognitive decline

Antidepressants are associated with impaired gastrointestinal functioning

Antidepressants cause sexual dysfunction and have adverse effects on sperm quality

Antidepressant use is associated with developmental problems (babies born to mom’s on antidepressants)

Antidepressant use is associated with an increased risk of abnormal bleeding and stroke

Antidepressants are associated with an increased risk of death in older people

Antidepressants have many negative effects on older people (read the details of the above list here)
