La suppression obstinée, par l’épiscopat français, des fêtes patronales de la France, est compensée, dans le Missel des dimanches, par l’arrivée en masse de fêtes que l’on n’avait jamais vues, avant la messe en français, s’introduire parmi les célébrations catholiques. Nous lisons dans ce « missel » :

Le 29 novembre 2009 : « Dans la communauté musulmane, Aid al Kabir, fête du sacrifice du bélier qu’Abraham a immolé en remplacement de son fils. »

Du 12 au 19 décembre : « Fête juive de Hanoukkah commémorant la victoire des Maccabées et la nouvelle dédicace de l’autel du temple de Jérusalem après sa profanation par les Grecs en 160 avant notre ère. »

Le 18 décembre : « Fête du nouvel an pour la communauté musulmane. »

Le 27 février 2010 : « Fête juive de Pourrim où la communauté fait mémoire du jeûne d’Esther, lorsque le peuple a été libéré du projet d’extermination des juifs exilés en Perse. »

Page 192 : « Il y a quatorze siècles, en 610, Mahomet, alors simple caravanier, commença à prêcher pour ramener le peuple de La Mecque à la religion du Dieu unique et lui enseigner la soumission à la volonté divine. »

Le 21 mars : « Collecte des dons pour le CCFD. »

Le 19 mai : « Fête juive de Chavouot, fête des moissons et du don de la Loi. »

Le 12 août « commence pour les musulmans le mois de jeûne du Ramadan ».

Le 18 septembre « la communauté juive célèbre le grand pardon, Yom Kippour, le jour le plus solennel de l’année, consacré à l’expiation des péchés ».

Du 23 septembre au 1er octobre, « dans la communauté juive, fête de Soukkot ou des Tentes, commémorant le séjour au désert lors de l’Exode ».

Dernier dimanche d’octobre : « Fête de la Réformation. »

Ce n’est plus un missel.

Un missel, dit le Littré, est le « livre ecclésiastique qui contient les messes propres aux différents jours et fêtes de l’année ». Selon le Grand Larousse, c’est le « livre qui contient les prières de la messe ». Selon le Grand et le Petit Robert, il s’agit bien du « livre liturgique qui contient les prières et les lectures nécessaires à la célébration de la messe pour l’année entière ». Et si l’on trouve ces références sémantiques trop exclusivement profanes, interrogeons le Dictionnaire de la foi chrétienne publié par les très catholiques Editions du Cerf, il confirme que le missel est bien un « livre liturgique contenant les textes et les rubriques pour la célébration de la messe ».

Je laisse à de plus savants le soin de décider quelle qualification juridique et morale mérite donc le (soi-disant) Missel des dimanches 2010 : « abus de confiance » ? « tromperie sur la marchandise » ? ou quelque autre ? En tout cas le fait est là : ce prétendu missel contient aussi d’autres choses que les « textes et rubriques pour la célébration de la messe ». Il serait plus honnête de lui donner désormais un autre titre que celui de « missel ». Simple suggestion à l’adresse de Mgr Robert Le Gall.

Aux plus savants je laisse aussi la charge d’examiner si les insuffisances théologiques de cette messe modernissime ont été réellement corrigées. Limitons-nous ici à quelques-unes des observations qui peuvent sauter aux yeux du simple laïc.

Par exemple, page 65, nous apprenons que dans la messe en français, ce sont « les fidèles qui vont donner la communion », sans aucune mention des supposées « circonstances exceptionnelles » qui avaient naguère servi de prétexte (provisoire) pour introduire cette communion laïcisée. Elle est devenue le rite ordinaire et obligatoire de la messe en français.

On remarquera aussi la suppression obstinée du « consubstantiel » dans le Credo. Cette suppression dans la messe en français est antérieure de plusieurs années à la promulgation d’une messe nouvelle par Paul VI : par quoi l’on voit qu’en France, le vrai problème n’est pas purement et simplement celui de la messe de Paul VI, mais en outre et surtout celui d’une messe particulière, et particulièrement inacceptable : la messe en français, la messe de notre épiscopat, à nulle autre pareille.

Camden Market is a highlight of the festive season. Loaded with all sorts of stalls selling paintings, fashion, jewelry, designer goods, crafts and traditional objects souvenirs, it is a great place to shop Christmas presents for reasonable prices.
Do not forget to visit the exclusive Harrods. This year Harrods celebrates the 70th anniversary of the famous classic movie “Wizard of Oz” where Dorothy and her friends will create a magical atmosphere with lots of activities for the whole family

Hey Cazmos,

I just wanted to tell you all how happy I would be if I won the house contest! Well first of all, starting now I am saving up Cazmo Cash. Ok, the ones I got are the Jeffrey Campbell knockoffs, because I am cheap poor a bargain-hunter, but still… so hot! So so so hot! Insanely comfortable, too. I feel like I’m wearing flats when I wear them. Except for the whole seven feet tall thing.

There was a double concert! I wasn’t able to get pics of the concert but that’s what the ticket from the VIP area looks like.

I was quite pleased with the way my first set of calico bags turned out so when another birthday presented itself I thought I’d make another. This  bag is less wide than the earlier ones – though the same depth. The bag can fit an A4 box file in it so should be good for carrying folders and documents or a small grocery shop.

The area for decoration is smaller than on the earlier batch, but I filled about the same amount of space with the design but it didn’t look crowded. For the design I went for applique again. I’m getting better at using the machine’s blanket stitch to out line the shapes. The flowers are from the same templates that I drew up for the Sarah bag in the first batch.

I’d like to say that reuse of some design elements and practice made making this bag quicker than making the others but it still took all of a Sunday.

After being poorly (I feel a lot better more of the time now) I have had the urge to clean the house meticulously and start creating decorations and presents for Christmas. I am rather excited about Christmas this year; I am never really over-the-top excited about it, but this Christmas will be the first in our new house! I put the tree up last night… a lot of people have said that it is far too early, but my family is coming to celebrate Christmas a week early, so why cant I put the tree up a week early!? It is just inspiration standing in the corner now, I cant wait to start putting presents under it.

Yesterday Ryan came home with a new frying pan, which was on sale in Debenhams:

So this led me on to looking at all the kitchenware that Debenhams sell… There are quite a few things that I love, which I am sure you can get elsewhere too, just they are all bundled together in one shop! Here are my selections:

1. Dark grey Roast ‘n Rack by Maxim – I love making roast dinners so much, but I still dont really have the roasting trays for all the ingredients.

2. Cream plate with glass dome lid – I just love the aesthetic of having this in the kitchen with cakes under it!

3. Teal rectangular stoneware dish by Le Creuset – maybe for pasta bakes

4. Cream stove kettle by Prestige – I adore the lines and the shapes that make up these retro-style kettles. I even love the fact you have to put it on the stove, so amazing! There are some of the same/similar style that are electric, but its not really the same thing is it. We also need an upgrade from the £6 kettle I bought a few years ago from Woolworths haha!

5. Azure cast iron casserole dish By Le Creuset – for casseroles of course. Winter is drawing in and I am always a sucker for homemade comfort food. For some reason all the Le Creuset items I have picked here bar one are in blue; I actually like all and any of the colours in the range that they make.

6. Ken Hom 5 piece Wok set by Tao – because I dont have a wok, and I really feel like trying to make stir fry and chinese style chicken.

7. Teal cast iron 26cm square grillit by Le Creuset – because it would make amazing steaks, and you can pour out the juices from the pan afterwards… mmmmm!

8. Spring form cake pan by Kitchen Craft – because I have none!

9. Volcanic regular cast iron grill by Le Creuset – I believe you can either put this in the oven, or as a hot plate on the stove… I love that idea.

10. 5 piece stainless steel set by Prestige – because all of my pans are leaving black flakes in my pasta yuk! Not necessarily this set, but something similar that wont ruin my food.

11. Blue Icona 4 slice toaster by De Longhi – so yummy looking! And blue again… why!?? We need an upgrade from the £5 toaster from Woolworths I bought 3 years ago…

12. 14cm microwave saucepan – when I saw this I thought of Ryan. He always eats beans, and always cooks them in Tupperware pots without handles or spouts, and it looks like a very awkward process to try not to burn your fingers, so this could be ideal!

13. Assam teapot by Bodum – I am never any good at judging how long to leave teabags to steep in the water before pouring, and it either comes out too weak or too strong. So… if I can see what is going on inside the pot I will be ok! It also has a plunger to stop the process when it is right for you, and you can use teabags or leaves and it works!

14. Cream food mixer by KitchenAid – how gorgeous is this machine! We have one in the kitchen at the bar that I work at, I might see if they will sell it to me as it is not really in use.

I am also in the process of designing some quilted Christmas stockings for myself and Ryan, to hang on the wall (where the mantel should be if the house still had one), some knitted presents for my grandparents, maybe some other presents too, and some decorations for the house! I am thinking garlands, and wreaths, and paper chains of course.

Ryan is dying my hair for me tonight, so if I think I look semi-unpoorly afterwards I shall take a photo and paste it to the end of this blog.

Our capacity is our capacity to give. Yes, it is the woman’s dilemma. If we expand our capacity to give we must then choose to whom we give. How much of that capacity gets allocated to ourselves, our families, friends, associates  and enemies?

I believe that God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others. That often results in women giving so much of themselves that they leave little for themselves. I believe that what we give is what is demanded of us but that we are part of that equation. We cannot give to others what we have not given ourselves because we cannot give freely what we do not have.

Today I feel so alive. I treated myself to double exercise and yoga for my birthday.  I am so grateful for life and the active use of my mind, limbs and spirit.

Today I give thanks for my expanded capacity to give.

…det känner både jag och Anna såhär långt före Julafton. Det är först DÅ vi får explodera ut vår glädje inför de överraskningar/julklappar vi har till våra kära män. Och det är något riktigt speciellt de ska få…något som också händer i Januari…
