Tuesday evening at 8pm President Obama took a great step in his evolution toward becoming one of the greatest leaders our country has ever seen. Like many presidents before him, Obama argued his case for war, this time against against Al Qaeda. Unlike others however, he did so standing in front of West Point students—many of whom will see deployment in Afghanistan and may indeed lose their lives.

In his address to the American people, the President carefully outlined a point by point strategy for attacking the al Qaeda insurgents in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He made it crystal clear that victory would happen with the support of NATO forces, with the United States acting as a beacon of hope and liberty. This was what many people, myself included, hoped to hear former President Bush say after 9/11, but that unity was squandered amongst endless vendettas against Iraq and Saddam Hussein specifically. In his speech, President Obama pledged to finally unite the world under the flag of liberty and security.

The additional 30,000 United States troops will not stand on the front lines alone, that the President made abundantly clear. Obama meant two things through that promise. First, the troops will be standing side by side with our allies, in particular Pakistani soldiers who have seldom cooperated with United States peace efforts. Secondly, and most importantly the President made a plea to the American people to support the troops and this effort to preserve peace and democracy.

Some people watched this address with immediate skepticism. Some said that Obama made a critical error by setting a firm deadline for troop withdrawal from the area (2011). For those interested in that argument, tune into C-Span or CNN and listen to Senator McCain argue against the preservation of liberty and safety of America. The majority of Republicans support Obama on this issue however.

Democrats are now the ones rushing to oppose military action. To these Senators and Congressmen, all I can say is that the damage has already been done. Obama is simply willing and able to stop the bloodshed in a very volatile and dangerous area of the world. Is the United States responsible for much of the current turmoil? Yes. But Obama opposed every single measure which led us to this point. Make no mistake, the President’s actions in this situation is that of a Commander and Chief and not of a timid little man who somehow weaseled his way out of serving in Vietnam in order to become this Nation’s worst president of the modern era.

President Obama has acted decisively and prudently. He is arguing for peace, standing up for the rights of all Afghans and even those Taliban forces that are willing to accept that freedom is the correct course for the Afghan people.

Numerous times I have stated that the President is arguing for something. This implies that he somehow needs to persuade the American public as well as the legislative branch to support his effort; all the while our troops look westward and see nothing but political squabbling and citizen unrest. This is unacceptable.

The truth is simple: President Obama is doing exactly what he was elected to do. Our Commander and Chief is bringing an end to open-ended war, unifying the world’s countries, and in the process repairing America’s image abroad. He is also fulfilling a greater promise to the American people, which is that he will do what is necessary to preserve our safety even against popular opposition. This is what America has lacked for eight long years; real leadership in the face of adversity.

I didn’t see the entirety of the President’s address last night. You knew something had to be coming along the lines of what was announced.

I read the text of it this morning to avoid the contaminants of both Fox and MSNBC and if President Bush had been that declarative in 2003, I don’t think we would have had the polarization that we have seen in the intervening years. I’m not sure how I feel about it entirely. I think had it predated the Iraq enterprise, the climate might be a lot different now. Coming out of 9/11, the protests for coming into Afghanistan and taking care of what was thought to be needed probably would have had minimal dissent.

It’s interesting because some extremists on both sides are grumbling about costs. Now, we worry about the finances? Some people will do anything for a soundbite. As nothing appeared to be changing with the status quo, it seemed like the President had two choices, pull out completely or wrachet things up to get this done. To pull out would not be easy and would mean we were just pissing away resources. I’m not in love with the alternative, but he inherited two fights that weren’t staged very well to start with, and at least there is a goal, a plan that doesn’t involve banner hangings and photo ops, but a definitive goal. There is no good in any of this, but that seems as pragmatic an outline as you are likely to see.

Being a pacifist/coward, I’m not the possessor of the most grand of military minds, but after watching Desert Storm nightly on television, I’ve often wondered if we are using all we have in such items. It used to be derigeur to show footage of a bomber pinpoint targeting the desired target. I don’t know if the guys on the ground are getting that same sort of support, something that occured to me for reasons passing understanding. Neither Iraq, part ll or Afghanistan has seen that.

The things we choose to care about….

“Absolutely disgusting. Holding someone up at the border, questioning them as to what they planned on lawfully saying, while they let that criminal, George W.
This is very interesting! I never thought about it this way. Perhaps this is why so many physicians

This is very interesting! I never thought about it this way. Perhaps this is why so many physicians are conservatives or Republicans.

The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers’ Party.

* Barack Obama is a lawyer.

* Michelle Obama is a lawyer.

* Hillary Clinton is a lawyer.

* Bill Clinton is a lawyer.

* John Edwards is a lawyer.

* Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.

Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate).

Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school.

Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress:

* Harry Reid is a lawyer.

* Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.

* President Bush is a businessman.

* Vice President Cheney is a businessman.

The leaders of the Republican Revolution:

* Newt Gingrich was a history professor.

* Tom Delay was an exterminator.

* Dick Armey was an economist.

* House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.

* The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976. The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like Frist, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich.

The Lawyers’ Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America. And, so we have seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers’ Party, grow.

Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in our nation.

This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers. Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients, in this case the American people. Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side.

Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians as lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all-consuming. Some Americans become “adverse parties” of our very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class-action suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.

Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by judicial decisions; we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked. When the most important decision for our next president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the law in America is too big. When lawyers use criminal prosecution as a continuation of politics by other means, as happened in the lynching of Scooter Libby and Tom Delay, then the power of lawyers in America is too great… When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to us, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.

We cannot expect the Lawyers’ Party to provide real change, real reform or real hope in America. Most Americans know that a republic in which every major government action must be blessed by nine unelected judges is not what Washington intended in 1789. Most Americans grasp that we cannot fight a war when ACLU lawsuits snap at the heels of our defenders. Most Americans intuit that more lawyers and judges will not restore declining moral values or spark the spirit of enterprise in our economy.

Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

The United States has 5% of the world’s population and 66% of the world’s lawyers! Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as ’spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you’ and also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits. This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by the Democrat Party. When you see that 97% of the political contributions from the American Trial Lawyers Association goes to the Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so high!

William McGurn has written speeches for a billionaire media mogul and a former president.

On Wednesday morning, he was the one delivering the address.

“Be there for people. Be cheerful. Be successful. Live the values of the school,” he said during a 45-minute talk with JSerra Catholic High School seniors. “If you do, you will be rich no matter how much money you make.”

McGurn was in town for an afternoon meeting with Orange County Catholic CEOs.

A long-time friend of JSerra founder Tim Busch, McGurn started his day at JSerra. He dispensed advice, fielded questions from inquisitive students and shared how his career path included a stop at the White House.

Currently Vice President at News Corporation, McGurn writes speeches for CEO Rupert Murdoch and pens the weekly Wall Street Journal’s “Main Street” column. Before that, he was President George W. Bush’s chief speechwriter.

He described the process of authoring a presidential address.

A junior writer would compose a first draft after researching the topics. McGurn and his deputy chief would review it by reading it aloud. The keys: short sentences and using language matching the president’s voice.

Then McGurn would send it out for “staffing” – a review by more than a dozen of the president’s senior staff.

Then McGurn’s team would incorporate the (sometimes conflicting) feedback. They would read it aloud again.

Finally, McGurn would meet with Bush for his input.

“President Bush was very good at formal speeches,” he said, noting his disciplined approach to preparation and practice.

What should students do if they want to become a presidential speechwriter?

McGurn said his journey would be impossible to replicate.

“Create your own opportunities,” he said. “If somebody offers you a job, go talk to them.”

Get involved in a political campaign. While in college, volunteer to be a White House intern, he suggested.

No matter what you do, he told the students, “don’t lose sight of your moral compass.”

“You are here to be different,” said McGurn. “You have teachers who really care for you. The best way for you to honor them is to succeed… and to keep in touch.”

Last night, addressing the nation before the US Military Academy at West Point, President Obama anno

Last night, addressing the nation before the US Military Academy at West Point, President Obama announced his plan for moving forward in Afghanistan. He announced that he would send 30, 000 more troops into Afghanistan through the next six months, part of a plan to begin removing American military from that country within 18 months. The new strategy will focus on defeating Al Qaeda, training Afghan police and military, correcting government corruption, and support for the stability of Pakistan.

To the dismay of much of the media, the speech was not filled with “bumper-sticker” quotes, but with reason and responsibility. His goal was to explain the strategy and reasons for that strategy to, not only American civilians and military members, but also to the people of Afghanistan and the world. Something that I feel was especially significant and powerful was when the President looked straight into the camera, addressing Afghans, explaining the purpose of the US military presence in their country. He told them, explicitly, that the United States had no desire to occupy Afghanistan. That part of the speech might be overlooked and, although it may seem like an insignificant part of the speech, this subtle overture is important to gain the trust of the Afghan people.

This decision by President Obama has been, and will continue to be panned by the media, bloggers, and politicians. This is one of those decisions that will please very few, right or left, but that could be a good sign, actually. When no one in this divisive political atmosphere is championing the President’s decision, then he must be doing something right. He, his administration, and the military seem to be on the same page on this decision, however, which is most important. Popular support for all wars continue to wane in this country, and for good reason, but the populous reacts emotionally, while our nations leaders must rule with reason.

Conservatives and Republicans, who are against every decision the President makes, are complaining that there are too few troops, and that the 18-month timeline for withdrawal is somehow equivalent to surrender. Of course, all of this is nonsense. I know that they must find something to disagree with, maybe they should remember the advice that they have repeated, again and again, for the past couple of months–listen to the generals. Okay, let’s see what Gen. Stanley McChrystal has to say: (from UPI)

“The clarity, capability, and committment outlined in President Obama’s address are critical steps toward eliminating an insurgency in Afghanistan and terrorist safe havens that threatened regional and global security….I believe our renewed coalition campaign is fortified by the path President Obama has put forward.”

Democrats, liberals, and progressives–my side of political thinking–are not happy about the decision, either. Many of them feel that it is time for us to immediately withdraw from Afghanistan. Although President Obama, during last years election campaign, clearly stated he would place more focus of the war in Afghanistan, people on the left are disappointed or angry about this ”surge” of troops. They try to insult Obama by saying that he is acting just like George W. Bush. That, too, is nonsense. I only wish that President Bush would have placed the proper focus on Afghanistan. Unfortunately, he forgot about Afghanistan. He invaded Iraq. He didn’t take care of business, so President Obama must.

There are no silver bullets for success in Afghanistan. There seem to be no good options, but President Obama has properly deliberated over the facts and advice, and he has now announced the strategy that he believes is most likely to lead to success. I don’t know if he is right or wrong but, as Americans, we should all hope that he is right. It is time for Americans to unite. ”United we stand, divided we fall.”

I thought this was one of the best speeches of the Obama Presidency. For the most part he stayed away from “political” rhetoric and focused on laying out the case for increased troop levels in a clear and convincing manner. In the interest of full disclosure, I will say that I was a supporter of the war in Afghanistan back in 2002 and I do believe our success or failure in that country will have long-lasting consequences for America and for the stability of the region. However, no matter what your opinion on the merits of the war is the fact remains that we are there and, due to irresponsible decisions by the previous administration, we have lost ground. I don’t believe leaving right now is an option (as much as I’d like it to be) and, if you believe people on the ground, maintaining the status quo is a recipe for disaster. Therefore, I support the President’s plan to send in more troops and am gratified to hear him lay out a clear and realistic mission for them, as well as an exit strategy. To those who don’t like putting out a timeline for withdrawal, I would argue that such an announcement is critical to show President Karzai and the Afghan people that we are serious about turning over the security of the country to them and that they must step up to the plate. However, I truly believe that, in 18 months, if the situation is not what we hope it will be, President Obama will reassess his withdrawal timeline. Hey, at least we have an exit strategy – something the Bush administration forgot to consider as they planned their invasions of both Afghanistan AND Iraq.

The men and women in uniform have already given so much (one only needed to look around the room at West Point and in the various living rooms across the world where CNN had cameras to see the true cost of this war) and to ask them to give more is so hard. But I do believe the President when he says that he asked the hard questions and considered all options before making this incredibly difficult decision. It may not work, but I applaud him for taking a stand and setting out a plan that, at least on paper, gives us the best chance of success.

Come to think of it, despite the fact we had such a great economy for most of the decade, they constantly harped on the negative during the Bush years, as well. So this is just more of the same.

Also notice that they admit that Iraq wasn’t a major war, even though the press obsessed over every casualty, when the total body count for the entirety of the war was less than most single battles in any of our major wars – and the number of people we freed numbered in the millions.

Why did Bush receive a warmer welcome than Obama. Because most military personnel knew Bush had their backs and spoke from the heart while Obama read his teleprompter and used the word “I” 45 times and the word “victory” zero. Being in a academy where they educate cadets on military philosophyand how to win wars. One of the first lessons taught is to not give the enemy your plan of attack. Maybe Obama needs to enroll and take a few courses.

For many who believe as I once did, that eventually when the one world government comes, that the US

For many who believe as I once did, that eventually when the one world government comes, that the US will be dragged into it somehow. That Europe through the EU will take advantage of a weak US President and take away our sovereignty with the New World Order. Because I’m a thinking man that never tries to explain out my own thoughts, but rather lets things explain themselves to me, I have found out that it will be the opposite. Does the EU want a one world government? You betcha. Will they drag our country to it? Absolutely not. We will be the ones authoring the need for the NWO. Barack Obama is the one sailing this ship toward financial collapse and ruin. Anyone that pays attention or is not kidding themselves know that Obama is doing this on purpose. For the skeptics out there that don’t believe this, let me lay it out for you:

1. One of the big factors for the economy being so abysmal is runaway spending done by Bush and the GOP from 2001-2006. This caused the dollar to drop drastically and our debt to grow to astounding heights. What is Obama’s solution? Spend even more and cause the dollar to plummet even more and our debt to grow to unimaginable heights. We’re talking to the point that we can NEVER pay off that debt. Anyone that says we can do it is kidding themselves.

2. The first stimulus package was passed because of an emergency. There was no time to waste on reading the 1000+ page bill authored by the Apollo Alliance, the head of which is co-founder of the domestic terrorist group Weather Underground Jeff Jones. We had to pass this back-ended spending package to save jobs. To this point, we have not spent half of that stimulus. Did most of the money go to jobs? No they didn’t. With congressional districts run by dems helping out, Obama cooked the books to show America that the stimulus bill saved jobs. Some districts don’t even exist, as was reported by the Obamasciple media. Now they are looking into passing within a month or so another stimulus bill that is more aimed at creating jobs. What was the first one for then?

3. Other nations have been begging us to stop spending and printing money or they will quit trading in US currency. What is our President doing? Proposing another $250+ billion stimulus bill and printing twice the money we are supposed to print. When other nations decide to finally wash their hands of the dollar, it will drop far below where it’s at today. If you think gold is high now, wait in another year.

4. The healthcare bills all increase the debt dramatically, and even many of our left-leaning politicians know it. The CBO knows it, that is why Obama has “met” with them. When we are in such debt, why pass the most expensive entitlement program in US history? Over one-sixth of our economy will be irreparably changed. Try taking away an entitlement program. It’s like pulling teeth from a lion spiked on an energy drink.

5. The cap and trade program Obama wishes would have already passed (people standing up to the amount of spending for healthcare, etc…), would guarantee the total collapse of the overall economy. On every front the economy would crash here. Guess who knows this? Obama. Obama said that his cap and trade program “would necessarily cause energy prices to skyrocket…. and the energy companies would then pass that onto the consumer.”

As I said in my last blog, it’s not about spreading the wealth. It’s all about government control. Why would Obama want to increase the price so drastically of energy at a time like this? There are no other answers. Look at who Obama has surrounded himself with during his entire adult life. Marxists who want to diminish opposing views in order to achieve social justice. People who adore Che Guevera, Hugo Chavez, and Mao Tse Tung. Notice none of them talk of their love for George Washington or Thomas Jefferson. When your staffpersons are hanging posters of murderer Che Guevera, then you know something’s wrong. Czars and advisers have spoken publicly of their love for the worst this world has had to offer and yet most don’t even bat an eye. The left doesn’t bat an eye either because they don’t know about it or they’re okay with it. The right doesn’t because they’re thinking “what was anyone else expecting?”

The US through Obama will continue the spiralling debt as fast as we can to restart the system. In years past, when American socialists said this was the way to get it done, they didn’t count on taking the whole world down with us. In a global economy and our country being as rich as it is, this country will take down the whole world economy with us.I saw on Glen Beck last week where he put forth that the world will bail the US out, and that will bring about the New World Order. He’s close to being right. The problem with his prophecy is that they can’t bail us out. The whole world cannot bail us out because they are suffering too. How can they bail us out when our economy is in their bloodstream? They can’t. They will go right down with us.

All that needs to happen is for those countries that the USA are in debt to decide that they are at a point where they have absolutely no confidence in our ability to pay back the loans and basically make a margin call. Once they reach that point, the USA will be done. Once the USA is done, so is the rest of the world. That is happening right now. The USA is being lectured to on economic matters by a communist Chinese government, and they aren’t the only ones. They are telling us to stop spending so much and let the market work the problem out. We haven’t and we won’t. What happens next after such a world economic collapse is the whole world starts again. No more all-powerful individual nations to cause the world to collapse again. We must all be brought together for the good of the world to prevent future disaster. Since the EU is at the forefront of bringing in a one world government, they will be the ones to map out a plan and select a leader. Someone with charisma to lead the world. No, not Obama. The world will blame Obama for the collapse. It will be someone else. Then a new currency will come about. I am calling it the “Worldo”. The Worldo will be the new currency to trade from nation to nation, as well as domestic spending. As a result of the new currency, gold will drop to near record lows. The world will not need gold anymore. They will have the Worldo. That goes for any other way the nations of the world is trading in lieu of the dollar. It will not be needed anymore. Watch for those gold investments! Individual liberties would be all but gone. The governments already exercise too much power over their people. It would only increase after the coming collapse. Each nation that has a constitution will lose it. The world will have its constitution with no nation escaping its clutch. Bush and his incompetence; the GOP and their desire to pay back their donors; Obama and his radical agenda will be the ones to cause the New World Order to happen. Collapse is the only possible outcome. From the ashes of the collapse will rise the Phoenix known as the New World Order. I’m a realist, and I don’t see any way out of it.

I'm working hard at breaking all presidential records in record time

With unemployment soaring, the economy tanking and troops dying while he makes a decision, Obama still finds time to golf. In 10 months, Obama has played 25 rounds of golf. That is more rounds of golf than Bush played his entire 8 years in office. Since Bush was portrayed as being a non-caring bumbling fool because he played a few rounds of golf while the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars were being conducted, what does this say about Obama?

How will Obama be portrayed breaking Bush’s record and dithering on making a decision about sending more troops into Afghanistan, at the request of his hand-picked general (McChrystal)? Obama can make a decision about whether to use an iron or wood but can’t make a decision for over 3 months on Afghanistan?

In 2003, Bush left the game of golf while in the White House, saying he did so out of respect for the troops. Obama is playing more while U.S. troop casualties creep higher. If it was wrong for Bush, it is wrong for Obama. FORE!

December 1, 2005 my career was on top of the world. I was working with some of the biggest celebriti

December 1, 2005 my career was on top of the world. I was working with some of the biggest celebrities, in the country music industry, and had just finished the first national homecoming for Vietnam veterans that gained world exposure and turned out to be a history channel documentary. My mother’s health was still good enough to travel and a few months earlier my parents were my guest at Operation Homecoming USA and rubbing elbows with all of the Joint Chief of Staff to the President of the United States. In January 2005, I had directed and produced the Inaugural Ball for the President and First Lady.
I was just finishing a grueling tour- Nashville, Branson, Chicago, Davenport, Branson, Nashville, and on to Loveland to surprise my mom and dad for Thanksgiving all over a nine day stretch. God was already preparing me for the guest I hated for many years prior to December 2005. I look back on the tour and God let me see all the people that meant a lot to me and were close to my heart. My busy family, that never has much time for me when I travel, had all the time in the world. I remember thinking as I headed back to Branson after a great holiday how fortunate we were to spend time together. Everything was great as I parted back home knowing I needed rest before my military USO tour that would start five days before Christmas.
Amarillo, TX 2:00am it was evident to me that the uninvited guest had arrived not knowing hours from that moment my life would change forever. My temperature was 104 degrees and my focus was on home because I knew that something was crippling me on the inside. All by myself I traveled across Oklahoma praying to God that he would let me make it home, as God spoke to me through the radio- through song. I passed out in a rest stop bathroom. When I came to a man would not help me telling his son I had too much to drink. They thought I was drunk.
The only way I was able to make it to the hospital from that trip was through my faith in God. I knew I was extremely sick. I really was in so much pain my doctor was amazed I lived through the journey home. Prayer, scripture, and God’s voice got me home nothing else. All the teaching from my past kept running through my head along with memories from my childhood. If you really believe in God and really need his help he will see you through was clear to me that day. Even when you know there is a storm ahead, he will carry you to the storm and will help you to face your Uninvited Guest. When God is preparing you for a storm in your life who do you call out to? Who do you trust? Do you pull over to the side of the road and die or do you keep your eye focused on the solution and keep driving? Do you let the others who ignore your cry for help convince you to give up? The attitude that you choose and your faith will see you through!
To be continued on Saturday July 11, 2009!

The last couple of weeks there has been a huge debate on Eric Holders decision to prosecute the 9/11 conspirators in civilian criminal court instead of a military tribunal. I’m not sure why the decision was made, I believe it probably has more to do with National Security than anything political. I believe in civilian court if things get to close to revealing something of a confidential nature prosecutors can site “ it’s a matter of National security” to keep things from coming out. If they’re tried in a Military Tribunal which is not a public hearing everything must be put on the table, prosecutors can’t site “a matter of National Security” because theoretically everything that would be in a military tribunal would fall in that category so that can’t be used and tactics or secrets could come out and you know as well as I do even though it’s not a public hearing it doesn’t mean it’s a private one.

But that’s not what gave me the clue that he (Holder) made the right decision. What did it was last night Former Bush Administration Vice President Dickhd Cheney was on some radio show and said Holder was wrong and the Bush Admin. probably wouldn’t have made that decision. They would have PROBABLY tried them in a military tribunal. Well that did it because the Bush admin. DID NOT make one right decision during there two terms in office.

The unprecedented increase in unemployment has no doubt effected every U.S. citizen in one way shape

The unprecedented increase in unemployment has no doubt effected every U.S. citizen in one way shape or form. If you have not been laid off, then chances are you are close to someone who has been. You probably even have one or more within your family that has been let go in the past year. It touches the heart to hear of loved ones losing so much and then struggling month after month to find a way to replace the lost income. But who has been hurt the most throughout this financial recession? Believe it or not, it is the majority of those who voted Barack Obama into the Presidency, it is the Democrats and Independents.

Back in January of this year, when the unemployment rate was at 7.6%, many blamed President Bush for the unemployment disaster. And while he did play his own part in allowing the first stimulus package and the buy out of many banks, it was made dramatically worse by President Obama. Obama did not allow the economy to simply heal on its own, he pushed to further the national debt, crippling the U.S. dollar, and all the while convincing many Americans that it was the proper course of action to stimulate the economy.

President Obama and the mainstream media has since then lied numerous times telling the public the economy is growing, that unemployment rates are improving, and that we are going in the “right” direction. This could not be further than from the truth. And yet, his loyal followers, who are taking the brunt of the economic crisis, still listen and believe with unemployment now at a staggering 10.2%.

Why is it that those who are suffering the most from this situation continue unfailing support of the Obama administration? Is it that so many have grown so dependent on the government that they are still encouraged by the empty promises of Obama? Perhaps it’s the vainess of sticking beside one’s own race without question? Or maybe it is like rooting for your favorite football team, no matter what you will go with your political party for better or for worse. Many Americans regardless of social standing do not like to admit when they have made a mistake. What ever the case is, I think it can be all of the above. Sadly, according to Rasmussen Reports it is Obama’s supporters, the Democrats and the minority population, that are being hit the hardest by unemployment.

The data collected by the Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey states:

“Data from Rasmussen Reports national telephone surveys shows that 15.0% of Democrats in the workforce are currently unemployed and looking for a job. Among adults not affiliated with either major party, that number is 15.6% while just 9.9% of Republicans are in the same situation.”

How do I know who supported Obama the most? As reported by BBC News on exit polls in their article Who Voted For Obama, he had the most support from first time voters, young voters, Democrats, and minority groups. And ironically, 62% of those who voted for Barack Obama cited that the economy was their main factor. Since his appointment to office, it has only worsened and regressed at a rate that no one ever thought possible.

What has our President that promised so much hope and change done to improve our economic woes? Why, he has made them far more and far worse. If you were in deep financial debt would you try to get out by spending more money? No, of course not. You would hunker down and take out the frivolous things in your life to make up the difference while paying back what you owe little by little. Yet, this administration instead took it upon themselves to spend not only our money, but our children and our grandchildren’s money, in the hopes of stimulating an economy that had already been overspent.

Those who were in financial trouble would have been better off to slip into bankruptcy and to lose a few jobs rather than to become slaves to the federal government who bought out their stocks to “save” them. No company is too big to fail. Instead, the deeds of the Obama administration has bankrupted the entire nation and left us in debt to other countries. In the meantime, those who provide the unshaken support of our President suffer the hardest in false hope that he will somehow rescue them by paying their gas and mortgage. Is the Democrat party so hungry for power that they are willing to make more people dependent on the government in supplying their every need like with this healthcare bill, giving them the power over our very health and well-being? It will spiral America into more economic hardship and leave us at the mercy of the country with the greatest stock in America (a.k.a. China). In a once Republic nation that is now resembling a socialist/communist country, how ironic that we look to China for support at this time. (Why else did you think Obama is spending so much time over there?)

Pres. Obama has had his hands full in the last month with the Afghan situation…..generals want

Pres. Obama has had his hands full in the last month with the Afghan situation…..generals want more…they always want more…..the Repubs are all over him for not moving quickly…..and the media is out after a breaking story on the situation. Will he send more troops? Or what will be the mission? Or what?

Pres. Obama said when interviewed in China about the possibility of leaks from his admin:

“For people to be releasing information during the course of deliberations, where we haven’t made final decisions yet, I think is not appropriate,” he said in Beijing during a nine-day trip to Asia.

Asked whether he was as angry about the matter as Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Obama replied: “I think I’m probably angrier.”

Asked whether he thought the leaks were a “firing offense,” he said: “Absolutely.”

We Americans have heard this type of bravado before…..it came from GW when asked about leaks in his admin…he said a similar statement……as usual it was false bravado….why?….when the name of a CIA operative was leaked to the press and it was proven to have come from his “inner” circle…..,NO one was fired because of that leak…the threat of a firing was BS…just a bit of political theater to impress the mindless few that thought he was being honest and assertive……gotcha!

The same will be true with Obama…it is all just political theater….false bravado…..and a lame promise that will most likely NOT happen……but say he does fire someone over a leak…that would be cool….but then I would ask: where was that assertiveness when it was needed during health reform and the ensuing debate? Maybe if he is going to thump his chest, he should have begun with the health debate…….Just a thought…..
