I’ve been using Fresh’s Face Luster for over a year now. I keep a compact in my purse, and one at my makeup vanity. When I’m not at a photoshoot, I’ve found it to be the quickest, easiest and most flawless face makeup I’ve ever found. It allows for great coverage because it’s a mineral powder, which I love to use to even out my skin tone, and cover any flaws. I also love the great coverage in a powder form because it is easier to apply than a liquid foundation. It photographs really well, making me look like I’ve been airbrushed.

The most unique quality about this makeup, and what makes it so different, is that it contains crushed pearls! The crushed pearls in the pressed powder leaves my skin with a natural healthy glow, it’s not sparkly.

I wear it in Sandy Lane, and sometimes wear a light dusting of bronzer over it to darken it up if I’m tanner. It comes with a round sponge which is really easy for on-the-go touch ups, and can also be applied with a makeup brush. I have bought it from Sephora, and directly from the Fresh store, it’s sold out often, so I usually buy 2 at a time. It’s $45 for a compact, comes in 7 colors, and also contains antioxidants A & E.. It is kind of expensive, but I think it’s so worth it! I’ve never found another face makeup like it. I wish it came in more colors for you ladies, but the shades that they do have are pretty versatile. If you are lucky enough to find your shade, it’s a great face makeup to own.

Here is a list of the ingredients:

I bumped this product up for review, as it is absolutely a gem! It is Guerlain’s Meteorites Co

I bumped this product up for review, as it is absolutely a gem!

It is Guerlain’s Meteorites Compact Illuminating and Mattifying Pressed Powder.

It is supposed to illuminate and mattify without dying out the skin. Two fine powders ane created from supple-textured pearls and dry preventing oils to give a velvet silky smooth touch. Enriched with anti-shine powders, excess sebum and humidity is absorbed throughout the day.

There are 3 shades – #01 in Teint Rose (light pink), #2 in Teint Beige (medium beige) and #3 in Teint Dore (deep beige). I got the darkest at 03 Teint Dore on impulse as it was a Sale and I had left reason at home. #01 Teint Rose would be for the very fair and pale skinned, #02 Teint Beige for those with beige skin, and #03 Teint Dore for olive skin or skin with yellow undertones.

I have never had to go the extreme in shade selection for any of my cosmetics, and was sure Teint Dore will be too dark for my skin. My justification on purchase was that this could serve as a shading powder for me. However, as my skin had yellow undertones, I was pleasantly able to work both #02 Teint Beige and #03 Tent Dore for this compact pressed powder.

Now I absolutely love this pressed powder… <3

It definitely gives a smooth velvet finish to skin and does not cake at all. The powder is so finely milled, that upon application skin looks flawless. Skin texture is refined, and my pores were minimised to almost oblivion, staying that way for the night. There is no shimmer in the powder hence there is no brightening effect. However, it does illuminate skin by giving it a slight natural glow. There was also the guerlain trademark scent on the powder.

Skin at most looks dewey, but never cakey or oily and shiny through the day.It does an amazing job as a finishing powder in setting makeup, but do not expect much coverage on its own like a foundation, as it only adds slight colour to even out the skin tone.

At only 1/3 of the price compared to Guerlain’s voyages meteorites compact, this compact feels very plastic and light, vastly different from the weighty metal trademark Guerlain packaging. But aesthetically it is still beautiful, with the trademark floral pattern on the case and embossed on the powder.

There is only 1 thing to change and that is the thin puff-like applicator it comes with. It does not do the compact justice and the powder is better applied using a regular puff or brush. Also if Guerlain released more shades for this powder, it will suit more varying skin tones around.

In a nutshell, the Guerlain Meteorites Pressed Powder is a winner. It makes my skin look refined, flawless and glowy, and the formula is unbeatable. It applies really well, and sustains for hours. It is my favourite pressed powder for now (and will be hard to beat).

Do consider this compact if you are thinking of a new pressed powder or would like to indulge for the holidays but do not see a want to splurge on holiday editions, and would rather have something practical.

My sister was visiting this weekend, and we started talking about makeup. She said that she liked how I did my makeup, which was funny to me because I do not regularly spend a lot of time on my makeup. I rely on products that work 100% of the time, so that I can apply my makeup in 5 minutes or so. Anyway, it got me thinking- I love the products that I use, and I would recommend them to any of my friends, so I thought I’d share with you my makeup essentials and everyday items that I hope will make your life a little easier!

0. Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm

This is a product that I got in my September Birchbox, and have grown to love more and more with every use! This stuff is truly incredible. It’s like a tinted moisturizer, only lighter and not so oily. It leaves my skin (which is usually dry ) with the perfect amount of moisture. It evens out my complexion, and has an SPF 25, which is essential for my very fair skin.

1. Neutrogena SkinClearing Blemish Concealer

I’ve been using this since I was in high school, and it’s still my favorite concealer. It covers everything very well, whether it’s under eye circles or a pimple, without being too cakey or making it LOOK like I used concealer. Plus, one tube lasts for months.

2. Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder

I like this powder because it’s inexpensive, lasts a long time, and is very light and natural-looking. I just sweep a little on with a makeup brush and I’m good for the day!

3. NARS blush in Angelika

Everyone loves NARS Orgasm. It’s definitely a great color of blush. But, sometimes I really like to use a bright pop of pink, and Angelika is a great choice. It’s a bright, shimmery pink that’s a great alternative to your usual peachy-pinks.

4. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Urban Decay has the best selection of eyeshadow, in my opinion, and this palette has literally every neutral color you could ever hope for. I use one of these every single day. Plus, it comes with a little lip gloss!

5. Laura Mercier Long Lash Mascara

I really love this mascara because it looks natural. It lengthens and separates your lashes, but doesn’t look like you put a ton of mascara on. Definitely a must-have for daytime makeup.

6. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Rockstar

Every time I wear this eyeliner, I get compliments on it. The dark purple color is unexpected without being too dramatic. I wear it during the day, and it really makes green eyes pop. Plus, these pencils really do glide on perfectly.

7. bareMinerals 100% Natural Lip Gloss in Rose

I love bareMinerals. This lip gloss is great because it stays on without being sticky, and isn’t too sheer, so you still get a great lip color that lasts. I love the rose color. It’s a great natural color that’s very flattering.

8. Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Intense in #40 Bright Orange

The most perfect orange color! I love wearing this during the day or at night. It’s a great way to really turn your outfit into a “look.” Plus, the orange is a great alternative to red. The lipstick itself goes on very easily and doesn’t run. It’s satin, too, so it doesn’t dry your lips out, which is my number one problem when wearing bold lipstick.

9. Marc Jacobs Lola

Click on the link for more info on the notes and all, because I’m not a perfume expert, but I do know that I LOVE LOLA!

10. Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil

I absolutely 100% swear by this stuff. Ever since I started using it, my complexion has improved immensely, as well as any acne/blackheads. This stuff is a miracle! Plus, it removes all of your makeup easily and gently.

For years I was of the opinion that you get what you pay for. This meant that when I was buying make-up I was spending a small fortune each time; never thinking that something cheaper might do the same job (or better!)
I was in Superdrug last night (its one of my new favourite places for make-up) & I hovered over the MUA (Make Up Academy) stand. Its been there for ages but with all products priced at a constant £1 I just assumed that the items were geared towards a younger generation…not a 30 year old. I have been wanting to try a new pressed powder for a while. I use powder to set my foundation & because I personally prefer the matte look. I decided to pick up one of MUA’s pressed powders. It comes in 4 shades, from light to dark, so most people should be able to find something that suits. I opted for Shade 2 and applied it last night as a test & this morning again. Its great! I applied it this morning at approx 10am. Its now just after 4pm & my make-up is still sitting nicely – no shiny patches, no creasing. For £1 you really can’t go wrong. I just use one of my huge powder brushes with it & that’s it! I’m well chuffed & it also goes a long way to proving that you don’t necessarily always get what you pay for. I’ll definitely be revisiting that stand again soon to try out their eye shadows – I spied some very funky colours!

I have recently become pressed powder obsessed. This morning I left the house without my trusty essentials and therefore left my pressed powder at home – heaven forbid! So on the way into work I ran into Boots and had a quick scan through the pressed powders. As I had forgotten everything I didn’t really want to buy a brush as well as the powder so was frantically looking for one with the sponge included. Then I came across the Max Factor Crème Puff (I have no idea why its called a Crème Puff as there’s no cream involved). So I quickly found a colour (41 Medium Beige) that looked similar to mine and dashed out.

Anyways, on the walk to work I thought I would give it a quick test out – I hate the sticky feeling that you get on your face after being on the tube so a quick nose powder is always in need after my daily commute. Once open I was hit with a very overpowering perfumed smell which I’m assuming is because it is brand new. Initially I thought “eurgh, that’s horrendous” but then after a few swipes around my T-Zone it was actually quite pleasant.

The sponge isn’t the best sponge in the world but considering it is a quick drug store buy for £5.99 I am really happy with it. It applies really evenly and doesn’t leave clumpy patches. I wouldn’t put it in my top 3 powders or anything like that, but when a girl is desperate I would definitely recommend it.

To begin with I went straight to the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder as I have seen so many people rave about it – including my all time fav Tanya Burr – but as they didn’t come with a sponge and I was completely brush-less I had to search further. Rimmel, hear me sister and bring back the cheap sponge!

If anyone else knows of a cheap pressed powder avec sponge then please let me know for next time!!

I know this is an issue for everyone who wears it! The whole point of a foundation is to even out and give you a perfect complexion, and if you have the wrong color you just accentuate everything you want to hide! Keep reading for some tips and things to keep in mind when you are out shopping.

Find a Type of foundation you like. There are so many different formulas out there and you need to know what works for you and your skin type. Now, do you even know what your skin type is? Women tend to think they have sensitive skin when in fact they don’t at all! Same goes with people who think they are oily. Take a look below and see what skin type you really fall into.

Your skin is most likely NORMAL if -

Complexion is even

Surface is neither too oily nor too dry

Pores are small in size

Face is supple with few lines, creases and wrinkles

You tend to have few breakouts

Your skin is most likely OILY if -

Face has shine all over opposed to the just the T Zone

Shine seems to appear right after you wash your face (well- sometimes longer than that!)

Pores are visible and seem bigger than normal and/or open

You have frequent blemishes (blackheads and/or whiteheads)

Good news is.. you have minimal lines and wrinkles! (and it will stay that way when you’re 70!)

Your skin is most likely DRY if-

After shower you do NOT apply moisturizer and it feels like your face will crack

Pores are very small if not invisible

Complexion has a ruddy appearance

Cheeks and/or chin are flaky and dry

Face has lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth

Your skin is most likely SENSITIVE or have skin allergies if-

You have blotchy patches (dry or red) on your face most of the time

You suffer from Rosacea

Your skin is delicate or thin (you can see veins through the skin)

You have quite a bit of sensitivity to multiple skin care and cosmetic products (burning or flushing), besides a known allergy (silicone, certain oils, etc)

So now that you have a figured out your skin type it’s time to decide WHAT you want your foundation to do for you. I know it can be overwhelming with so many brands, formulas, price points and all the hype about minerals! Stay tuned for a BIG blog post about the myths of mineral makeup. I am just going to go over real quick what types of makeup do what and does it best for who!

Cream foundation gives you medium to full coverage and works great on a lot of people. I suggest normal/combo all the way to dry skin depending on how much coverage you desire obviously.

Liquid foundation comes in various finishes such as matte, satin and dewy. Anyone can wear a liquid and is ideal for mature skin as it gives light to medium coverage but most liquids you can “build up” and get exactly what you need where you need it.

Powder foundation almost always has a matte finish because it is mainly for oily skin types. Generally (again, depending on the brand) it gives medium coverage that can be built up, you do want to make sure you don’t over do it so it doesn’t end up looking caked or mask like.

Tinted moisturizer is a great choice for anyone that is NOT extremely oily. It gives subtle coverage while hydrating the skin and adding just a touch of color. This is a great product for mature skin as well as a summer foundation if you like the “no makeup, makeup look”!

Now I know there are even MORE on the market than what I’ve talked about, but this is a basic guide for you. If you have any specific foundation or complexion questions you are more than welcome to post them here- I’m sure someone else is already thinking the same thing I hope this helps you in your quest for finding the perfect foundation!! Thanks for reading and please let me know if you want something else or more covered on the topic

I emailed Jane Iredale and asked if they offered samples before buying their products. Thankfully, they said YES!!! Which is exactly what I like to hear. I corresponded with the Jane Iredale’s representative, Cathy, who was very sweet and sent me a few samples. I was offered samples of both their pressed powder and mineral makeup. I took their shade finder quiz and guessed my shades. I choose; butternut and fawn. She also included coffee and caramel. I have duplicates of a few shades. The color that matches my skin tone the most is butternut. It’s literally spot on. I have butternut in both the pressed powder and mineral makeup.

You may have seen the latest ad campaign from boots; they have a 3 for 2 offer across all makeup! Subsequently I have developed a serious problem…I can’t walk past a Boots without going in and miraculously finding 3 things I really need.

These purchases were the result of at least 3 Boots trips over the past few days as I said I have a problem. I had a few items that were on my wish list so first off were the new Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Khol Kajal Eyeliners in Nude and Taupe. The Nude colour is really unusual I haven’t seen an eyeliner like it before. I have been using it on my lower lash line and it’s great for brightening up your eyes in the morning or as a perk up towards the end of the day. The Taupe colour is lovely on both top and bottom waterlines and doesn’t budge all day.

Two other purchases from Rimmel were the Stay Matte Pressed Powder which is perfect for setting concealer and on any shiny areas of the face. Along with a new matte lipstick from the Kate Moss Collection is Shade 101. I’m not too sure about this one yet. The matte texture is quite unusual but I like it under my Mac lipglass in Ample pink. I’m pretty much loving Rimmel at the moment they have a really great selection of products for a drugstore brand.

My next stop was the Collection 2000 stand where I got the lasting perfection concealer in shade 2 and the Illuminating Touch concealer in shade 1 naked. The lasting perfection concealer is honestly one of the best I have ever used on blemishes and for the price it is an absolute bargain I think this will become a makeup bag staple. I have been using the illuminating touch concealer under my eyes to brighten and cover any dark circles. I haven’t found this to do anything extraordinary so far but again for the price it gets the job done.

I also reached for Real Techniques blush brush. I have the stippling brush already which I love so I am very pleased to add the Blush Brush to my collection. It has lovely dense bristles and is extremely soft for a synthetic brush.

I also grabbed an Essie polish in Recessionista which is a deep purlpley / red – perfect for fall.

Finally I treated myself to a product I have been wanting to try for ages – YSL Effect Faux Cils Shocking Indecent Volume Mascara. I must say my lashes looked really full and fluttery after using this.

Let me know which cosmetics you have been stocking up on and any recommendations for good drug store products to try out?

These are my favorite type of product reviews – beauty products! If you know me, you know that I love my makeup. Love, Love, Love. And there is no exaggeration there at all. I am completely serious.

Warning: The following review contains graphic photos of me without any makeup. View at your own discretion. Just kidding! =)

As a BzzAgent, I was accepted into the Covergirl and Olay Campaign, which means I was provided the Covergirl and Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation and Pressed Powder for this review. As always, the opinions expressed herein are my honest opinion of these products.

I started wearing makeup when I was 12. I would sneak it to school and put on makeup in the bathroom before school started. Nothing major, just eyeshadow and blush to begin with, but the makeup monster within was born. From then on, I knew I was in love with makeup. Not because I thought I needed it, but because I liked it. I liked (and still do) the the way makeup enhances your natural features.

When I was 16, my best friend and I started wearing foundation. We liked the Covergirl liquid foundation and pressed powder. It had this distinctive scent that I can still remember. I loved it.

Fast forward a few years, and my makeup skills and needs have evolved. These days, I typically use a mineral powder foundation – I have found the mineral powder foundations to generally have a better coverage and more natural look than liquid foundations. And it’s easier to avoid that “line” along your chin with the mineral foundations (which by the way, you shouldn’t have if you have the correct color foundation). But I thought it would be fun to try a liquid foundation again, especially since its Covergirl.

Covergirl has teamed with Olay to produce Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation that combines foundation any hydrating serum that covers fine lines and wrinkles and helps to hydrate skin to improve it over time. The Covergirl & Olay Pressed Powder helps to brighten skin while softening the look of imperfections in a unique formula that doesn’t look heavy or cakey.

Now, for the review.

First, a photo of me, clean face, sans makeup, with only moisturizer on my face.

Next, I applied the Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab Foundation with a foundation brush. When applying liquid foundation, I suggest starting with your forehead working from the center of the face out, then under the eyes, again from the center of the face out. This helps to avoid that “line” I was talking about before. There has always been the debate between using your fingers, a sponge, or a brush to apply foundation. Here’ my take: if you use your fingers, you are guaranteed to get an uneven application, if you use a sponge, you lose a bunch of your foundation to the sponger (it just soaks it up), not to mention sponges are known to harbor bacteria, so I prefer a foundation brush. You can get a nice, even application of the foundation, and brushes are easily washed (and should be on a regular basis). After the foundation, I lightly patted a thin layer of pressed powder all over my face. Here I am with the Covergirl & Olay foundation and powder only:

To finish, I applied a little bronzer, blush, a few shades of eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and lip tint. Here’s the finished me:

My thoughts on the Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab foundation: It applies well, has a good, thick, silky consistency, and applied very easily and evenly over my face. It had good coverage, and the color matched my skin tone perfectly, so there was no issue the the “line.”

My thoughts on the Covergirl & Olay Pressed Powder: I found the powder puff applicator that came with the compact to be a bit cheap, so I bought another one that was better quality and used that with the powder. That made all the difference in the world in application. I really like the pressed powder, it comes off onto the applicator in light layers, so application is very light and translucent. And it finishes off the foundation very well.

My conclusions: I think the foundation is very good quality and works very well. For me however, it has too much coverage and is a little too thick for my needs. The pressed powder however, has found a permanent home in my purse. I love it for touch ups. I would recommend both products to friends and family.

I’d been purchasing this for years until I found a (much better and cheaper) dupe. Clinique claims that it ”removes excess oil and shine without disturbing makeup. Leaves a matte look to skin. Leaves skin feeling and looking comfortable and fresh.” For official info click HERE.

Well, on the plus side:

Hey ya’ll,

Before I post my top five things that I HATE about what people do with makeup including companies, I wanted to share what I saw on Yahoo.com. The top ten makeup mistakes that they say are common. One of the makeup mistakes are wearing black eyeliner instead of brown, wearing pressed powder and wearing dark lips. For me some of these mistakes look good on me. I look great with dark purple or brown lip color and black eyeliner makes my eyes appear brighter. Does this have something to do with my complexion?. What do you all think about some of the mistakes thatI have listed below?

Mistake #1: Using Too Much Foundation

A foundation that’s too thick will settle into fine lines and sap the luminosity from your skin. “Only use foundation where you need it to even out discoloration,” says makeup artist Frances Hathaway. “You don’t have to cover every inch of your skin.” When buying a foundation, avoid those described as “matte,” “velvet,” and “long-wearing”; look for sheer liquid formulas with light-diffusing pigments. (A great option: Chanel Vitalumiere, $55; chanel.com.) If you have dry skin, foundation can look patchy and accentuate discoloration, so exfoliate two to three times a week and always apply a moisturizer after cleansing. Hathaway’s favorite moisturizers to use under foundation: Aveda All Sensitive Moisturizer for combination or normal skin ($33; aveda.com) and Weleda Skin Food for dry skin ($18.50; usa.weleda.com).

Mistake #2: Over-Concealing Your Under-Eye Circles

A thick concealer that comes in a stick or pot will eradicate the shadows under your eyes, but it will also draw attention to the crepiness and fine lines that usually show up in that area first (because the skin there is thin). A better option: A brush-on highlighter pen (like Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector, $11.99; drugstores) that uses illuminating particles, not opaque color, to camouflage dark circles. Apply it only near the inner corners of your under-eye area, where shadows are most prominent (and lines least).

Mistake #3: Wearing Deep, Dark Lip Colors

A dark color makes any surface look smaller–a welcome illusion perhaps on your hips but not your lips. To make your mouth look fuller (one hallmark of a youthful face), choose bright lipsticks and glosses (peaches, pinks, vibrant reds) over deep shades (burgundies, wines, browns). Makeup artists use another trick to create the illusion of luscious lips: Before applying color, trace a highlighter pencil along your upper lip line, then buff it out with your finger. (Try Nars Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Hollywoodland, $24; narscosmetics.com.)

Mistake #4: Finishing with Powder

Youthful skin reflects light. Powders prevent light reflection and tend to magnify lines in the skin. If powder has been the final step of your makeup routine since high school, it can be difficult to quit cold-turkey. Here’s a three-step program: First, switch to a very sheer translucent powder (like Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder, $35; lauramercier.com). Then, start using it only on your nose and chin. Finally, trade the powder for a packet of blotting tissues–use one, only on the T-zone (nose, chin, and forehead), if you’re shiny midday.

Mistake #5: Wearing Black Eyeliner

Don’t skip eyeliner altogether–it’s a great way to make your eyes look more open–but choose brown over black, which can be harsh. And keep the color diffuse. “You want to define the eyes with softness and blending, not strict lines,” says makeup artist Troy Surratt. “A thick liner can leave the upper lids looking heavier than they are.” The best technique: Trace a brown pencil liner along the upper lash line (into the roots of the lashes), focusing on the outer corners; smudge it with a Q-tip.

Mistake #6: Going Overboard with Lip Liner

A lip liner can define your lips and prevent color from feathering into any lines around the mouth–but choose one very carefully. If you line your lips too heavily, or with a color that’s too dark, they’ll look tight and pursed. For the most natural effect, your lip liner should match the color of your lips, not the color of your lipstick. Choose a creamy formula that won’t adhere to any dry patches, and use it to fill in your lips entirely, so it wears evenly.

Mistake #7: Using Liner and Mascara on Your Lower Lashes

Playing up your lower lashes can make your eyes look droopy and draw attention to dark circles. Instead, curl your upper lashes and wiggle a volumizing mascara into their roots and slowly through the ends for the most uplifting effect. (Try Rimmel ScandalEyes Curve Alert Mascara, $6.99; drugstores.)

Mistake #8: Skipping Blush

A rosy flush on your cheeks brings instant life to your face. And, if applied correctly, blush can offer a little lift. Smile, find the fleshiest part of your cheek and apply color just slightly above it. Blend the color out toward your temples in circles, not a line, using a big fluffy brush. You want to avoid a stripe of color that stretches along your cheekbones, which can make you look drawn and hollow, says Surratt.

Mistake #9: Applying Lipstick Straight from the Tube

The borders of the lips soften with age, and any extra lipstick migrates easily. To avoid bleeding color, use your finger or a lip brush so that you don’t deposit too much pigment. Concentrate the lipstick in the center of your mouth, and blend it out with a finger. Top it with a moisturizing balm or light gloss.

Mistake #10: Choosing a Too-Dark Eyebrow Pencil

“Your brow color fades as you age, so the brow pencil that you were using at 25 will look too stark against your complexion at 50,” says makeup artist Denise . She recommends Maybelline Define-a-Brow Eyebrow Pencils ($6.95; drugstores), which come in four shades. Choose the one that’s a shade or two lighter than your natural brow color. If your brows are starting to get a little wiry, run a clear brow gel over them as well, brushing them up and out toward your temples.

I’m following makeup artist, Bobbi Brown’s blog. I’ve been a fan of hers for years and she’s created fabulous makeup with a fabulous concept. On a recent blog post, Bobbi focused on wearing white after Labor Day…white shades of makeup, that is. http://www.everythingbobbi.com/en/2012/09/01/labor-day/

I just received my latest shipment from www.sephora.com. In it was a compact by Bobbi Brown, Sheer Finish Pressed Powder in White 7. I also plan to break the rules and wear white this fall and winter. The reason for choosing a white shade is to highlight my cheeks, the bridge of my nose and soften marionette lines without any shimmer. My skin is oily enough as it is and shimmer is a huge mistake for me. The white shade gives me a more youthful appearance in an instant.

Thanks Bobbi!

Nothing like being practically see-through during the winter. I’ve played around with a lot of bronzers…mostly because I’m too scared to spray tan (I’ve seen a lot of oompa loompas) and because I don’t like to tan in the beds. I’ve narrowed down two bronzers – a gel cream and a powder that get my product stamp of approval.

Hard Candy Glow all the way: deep tan instant bronze and gradual self tanner infused with 24 karat gold

It comes in a few different colors, blends nicely, doesn’t look orange, and adds a subtle sheen (glow) which is especially awesome in the summer (which I will admit – I’ve been using this daily due to a schedule that allows for very few pool days). This stuff rocks.

Physician’s Formula Bronzers:

Light, perfectly blended, with one “scale” that’s gold to give you that summer glow. This is more brown than orange so it’s good for those with medium – dark skin.

What are your favorite bronzers?

Do it to it,

I mentioned before that I was hoping to purchase Almay’s BlemisHeal foundation, and I’m

I mentioned before that I was hoping to purchase Almay’s BlemisHeal foundation, and I’m pleasantly surprised to say that this stuff is some of the best foundation I have ever had in my life. It’s a bit pricier than what I’m used to paying, but I’d say it is definitely well worth the $11.99 price tag.

I am currently using Physician’s Formula gentle green concealer stick, the color of which really balances out redness in a few of my worst blemishes, as well as balancing out the bruise-like dark circles under my eyes. I apply this straight with the stick, which looks a like lipstick in shape, and goes on smooth and gentle as advertised.

I then apply small amounts of Almay’s BlemisHeal liquid foundation in Ivory with my fingers. Half a pump covers my face just fine, and I tend to do small dots with my fingers which I then blend in, concentrating on the problems areas. I then dab on the Almay BlemisHeal pressed powder in light. I am pleasantly surprised to say that not only does the one-two combo give me flawless coverage, but it feels great on my skin. The foundation doesn’t feel heavy, doesn’t clog my pores, and most amazing of all, does not get shiny. Ever. I have extremely oily skin, and the additional oils from my hair tend to turn my forehead into a reflecting surface by mid-day. I gave it the ultimate test today with close to 100% humidity, and it still had a perfect, matte finish when I walked back into my apartment from my morning errands. This stuff just does not quit.

If you have oily, problem skin that’s prone to break-outs, give Almay’s BlemisHeal line a go. The price tag is well worth it, and a little goes a long way, so I’m sure I’ll have this bottle for a good long time. I hope it works as well for you as it does for me.

This is my first time trying any products from Honeybee Gardens and I couldn’t be happier or more impressed with what I received.

Color: I got the color “Supernatural” because although I am very pale I am not the palest possible and I like to have a little bit of color on my face and not look too washed out. It is a little dark on me but if I blend it down my neck properly it looks absolutely fine. I think I am going to purchase “Geisha” as well just to compare the two and see which is a better fit. I have a feeling the two colors would work together really well also. I personally like to have two shades, one lighter and one a tiny bit darker depending on the season. *Update* – I purchased the color “Geisha” and find that it matches my skin tone much better!

Coverage and Lasting Powder: The coverage is medium to full. I like that you can build up the coverage and it literally does not make you look cakey at all. I don’t feel like I am wearing anything on my skin either which I love because a lot of powder foundations make my skin feel heavy. I feel like my skin is breathing with this powder. I also need less concealer when using this because it really balances out pigmentation. I only use concealer on my dark circles and then blend the powder over it and it doesn’t crease at all.

Over All Thoughts: I have been on the look out for a good Non-Toxic Pressed Powder Foundation that doesn’t feel heavy and doesn’t clog my pores. I actually would go so far as to say this powder foundation is comparable to MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish which I have loved for years but obviously don’t like to wear often as it contains a lot of chemicals. This powder really gives me a “glow” to my face and very good coverage. I have been wearing it every day this week. I honestly love this powder and will keep repurchasing.

What is your favorite go-to Powder Foundation?
