Today is Christmas Eve.

In many ways X-mas and New Years are exact opposites of each other in Japan and Western countries.

In Western countries, Xmas is the biggest holiday of the year with the post office busy delivering Xmas cards, many stores are closed and families gather to enjoy a big dinner together and give gifts to children.
And then New Years is celebrated on New Years Eve and quietly ends the next day.

In Japan, it’s the other way around.
Here, Christmas is often celebrated in Xmas Eve by couples going on a date and families having a dinner of chicken and Xmas cake for dessert (just as many people have this dinner on Xmas Day as do on Xmas Eve). But Xmas ends quietly and people get ready for New Years…Japan’s biggest holiday.
Just like Xmas in the West, in Japan New Years is the biggest holiday of the year with the post office busy delivering 年賀状 (New Years postcards), many stores are closed and families gather to enjoy a big dinner together and give gifts (お年玉) to children.

Also, yesterday was 天皇誕生日 (the Emperor of Japan’s birthday).
Christmas isn’t a legal holiday in Japan…it’s a regular work / school day, but the Emperor’s birthday is a legal holiday.
It’s also one of the only two times a year that the public is allowed inside the inner grounds of the Imperial Palace (the other time is just after the New Year).
People who go into the Palace grounds can see the Japanese Royal Family and hear the Emperor give his annual birthday speech.

Completely unrelated, but I heard about a website called 「美人時計」 (“Beautiful Girl Clock“).

It show a new photograph every minute of a pretty girl in the Tokyo holding a board with the current time (of course in Japanese Standard Time (JST)).

This site is extremely popular. So they decided to make another version…now there’s a 「ギャル時計」 (“Gal Clock“) too.
“Gal” is a type of 渋谷 (Shibuya, Tokyo) girl fashion.

This girl that used to be called my twins in the old days, had appear once again in front of me today. After not seeing her these 2years for now. Bum her inside Kwong Shin Optical where I always visit her mother.

Yes, she become very mature and pretty now, very tiny already! (different from the picture above, that was us at 15). But one thing that does not change in her, is her way of speaking and her character.

I miss her so so so damn much!! One of these days, I’m gonna meet up and date her out!

You probably know one of Bryan Adams’ song, ‘Heaven’. It was years ago resang by a pretty girl who has a beautiful voice. In television, you only know the song as ‘Heaven by DJ Sammy’. Is the girl DJ Sammy?
Apparently not. DJ Sammy is him. So who’s the girl?

Thanks to google, I found the girl. Her name is Do (pronounced as ‘dough’). Her real name is Dominique Rijpma Van Hulst. She is a succesful singer in Netherlands.
I like her voice so much and now I can hear her sing again. So cool! ^^

So my first tag experiment was an utter failure — I guess folks don’t want to look for raunchy, sleazy, on-the-fringe stuff.  I’ve had exactly zero hits on this blog since that post.

So for this post, I’m going to use as many “softcore” tags as I can think of, to see if people are looking more to *almost* see something “bad.”

I shot senior pictures for my sister’s friend, Maritsa, last weekend!  Even though it was chilly and rainy, we still got some great shots!  For weather reasons, we’ll be doing another shoot this month.  Here’s a few of my favorites!

Isang napakahabang araw…Ginabi na kami umuwi dahil sa pagpaparactice ng jazz chant. Woooh..mas maraming commercial kesa practice..Pero masaya..

Nakasabay ko-sa pangalawang pagkakataon- ang kanyang nakaraan.Eh ano?hahaha..

Pagkadating sa kabihasnan,sakay ng transportasyong pang masa, aking natanaw ang aking asawa na patawid sa tamang tawiran kasama ang mga kaibigan. Nadagdagan pa ang ang aking kasiyahan nang aking nakita ang mga dekorasyon tungkol sa aking pinakamamahal na araw: ang Halloween. Sa pag-aakalang pupunta ito ng recar, sumama ako sa mga kaibigan ko na mag 7-eleven sa may gilid ng simabahan.Ngunit bigo, wala ni anino ang aking nakita.Pagkatapos mamili ng pangpawi ng kauhawan, aming napagdesisyonang bumili ng kikiam sa tapat ng city walk ngunit wala kaming nakitang nagtitinda ng kikiam. Dumaan kami sa may paradahan patungo sa kung saan. May sumigaw ng pangalan ko. Kahit ‘di ko lingunin, alam kong siya yun. Natuwa naman ako syempre..

Nang dumating kami sa kabilang bilihan, saka ko lamang naisip tingan ang aking cellphone. Apat na mensahe. kabilang na rito ang isang numero na hindi nakarehistro. “Ui, pwede ka ba makausap? **** to”. Agad kong pinagpaload ang kaklase kong bigong magpaload kanina.Tinext ko siya..ngunit inabot ng maraming minuto, nakarating na ko sa terminal, wala pa rin akong natatanggap na tugon mula sa kanya. Nadaan muli ako sa mga dekorasyon, ngunit wala akong naramdamang kahit anong tuwa.Sumakay na ko…saka ko natanggap ang mensahe. Tinatanong nya kung pwede raw ba akong gabihin. Agad akong bumaba at nagpaload.At saka tumungo sa lugar na naging malaking parte sa aming pang araw-araw na buhay.

Habang tinatahak ang madilim ngunit maingay na daan patungo sa aming tambayan, nagtext siya at naliligaw na daw.HIntayin ko raw siya dahil di pa nila nahahanap ang labasan.Umupo ako sa pasimano.Nakagilid ako sa lansangan. Nairita ako sa kumaway saking lalak (walangya) kaya napagdesisyunan kong tumalikod.Naiinip sa paghihintay,naubos na dugo ko kakasipsip ng mga pesteng lamok, saka dumating ang aking hinihintay. ‘Di kami nagtagal doon..Agad din kaming umalis sapagkat nagyaya siyang maglakad. Namiss lang pala niya ako at nagdrama lamang para makasama ako..Ni hindi sya pumunta sa practice nila.natouch naman ako.

Natakot ako nung una kung ano ang sasabihin niya. Maraming mga bagay na umiikot sa aking isipan. Akala ko ganyan, akala ko ganun..akala lang pala,,.

Nasulit ang halos dalawang oras na magkasama kami.Kinuha niya ako ng kalabasang nananakot (na cute naman talaga).Nung asa tricycle na ako, tinext ko siya ng good night pero di nagtagal ay pumunta siya sa tricycle at tinabihan ako.Nilabas ko ang kalabasa-na takot na takot siya na ilabas ko dahil baka pagalitan kami ng martial. Tinabi ko ang kalabasa sa kanyang mukha at pinagkumpara. Nakita ko siyang nakatingin sa malayo.Sobrang layo na hindi ko na halos matanaw. Tinakip ko ang kalabasa sa aking mukha at pinagmasdan ang kanyang mukhang nagiisip. Napansin nya ata akong nakatitig sa kanya kaya ayun..

Hinatid niya ako sa may amin. Pina-unan ko na sya sa balikat ko dahil inaantok siya. Gamit ang kalabasang ninenok sa may kabihasnan, tinakpan ko ang kanyang mukha upang hindi siya masilaw sa mga ilaw mula sa iba’t ibang sasakyan at posteng nadadaanan. Pagkarating sa may amin, nawika ko ulit ang mga salitang “Ibalik niyo po yan sa Balanga ng buhay”. At sa ikalawang pagkakataon, tinext ko siya ng GOOD NIGHT.

Over the last week or so, I’ve found the most interesting little fragments in boxes.  This one, obviously is missing it’s upper half (the paper was torn out and free wandering).  It comes in on the middle of something, and that makes it all the more perfect for me.

Me: No.  What is this crazy notion you have about me being madly in love with you?

Him: Not everyone goes to Paris.

Me: I think I would know by now if I was in love with you, but it’s only been two weeks.

Him: So.  Fall in love with me.

Me: Not everyone goes to Mexico.

Him: That’s right.

Me: And how do you feel about me?

Him: I guess you’ll never know.

Me: Why not?

Him: Because.

Me: Because, what?

Him: Just: because.

We hugged our goodbyes, and I leave for Paris tomorrow.  My gorgeous six-foot-four-tall-blonde-boy-with-the-blue-eyes who is all of 19.  He’s going to help build houses or something. I’ve already a mad plan to send him postcards unsigned from various destinations in my travels.  And when I close my eyes, I see that golden hair that becomes un-tucked from behind his right ear as he thrusts above me.  His hair has to be my most cherished part of him, his eyes a close second, and that luminous baby skin of his.  He resembles my favorite poet: Rupert Brooke.

We spent the whole of today in my bed. Talking. Kissing. Talking. Sex. Sip of water. Bite of strawberry. Repeat over countless hours.

One of the Bay Area’s most anticipated projects of 2009 comes from R&B singer Jimmie Reign. The songwriters’ Promo CD Pretty Girl is rapidly gaining popularity and worldwide recognition. Produced by (fellow hometown resident) Chuck Diesel, Ms. Reigns’ Pretty Girl exhibits her keen soft vocals and buoyant energy that has made her one of the Bay Area’s leading female vocalist.
Jimmie is no rookie to the front stage;opening for the likes of Keyshia Cole, Chico Debarge, Jagged Edge, Eric Roberson, Dwele and Bilal – plus many more.
She has also chorused hooks for other popular Bay Area artists such as Too Short and E-40. A few of her well known songs include “Super Star”, “Trying to be Your Girl” and “Keep Pushing”.
Jimmie makes valid claims to being the original “go girl”. The previous release of her mixtape titled “Go Girl” in 2007 came before (former Shonuff Records recording artist) Ciara released her (same titled) hit single in 2009. In an interview with DC from Bay FTV, Jimmie cited, [“…she stole something from me…”]
Though there is a dispute on who is the “originator”, there isn’t any real beef between the two entertainers.
Pretty Girl is laced with multiple blazin’ tracks. “Rushin” is one of my favorite cuts and features a sample from L.L. Cool J’s banging single “Hey Lover”.
Ms. Reign’s warm music touches anyone who has experienced any of life’s complicated issues. Topics such as single motherhood, self image and broken home resentment are addressed. Jimmie had this to say about her music, “My songs are about struggles with self esteem and trouble with relationships….I have issues just like the rest of the world has issues. My catharsis is translating all the negative and positive energy from my life into music that people can love and feel.”
Jimmie believes in staying connected to her fans and even had a contest on MySpace where anyone could compete to help produce the remix for the song “Dreamin” – which is a hot track by the way.
One could label Ms. Reign not only as a mother/singer/songwriter but also as a hip hop junkie. On the albums lead single “Different Person”, the artist displays one of her hidden talents by beat-boxing during the breakdown.
The multi-talented prima donna is also bi-lingual and has also released a Spanish version of the song “Let Me”.
If she keeps writing good ballads, stays focused and keeps smiling; she will make it to the top.
She’s currently preparing to go on tour in 2010. The final release date for the actual album is still unknown. Until then, you can purchase her melodies on iTunes Music, watch her videos on MySpace and catch updates via Facebook.
