I really like tea. I don’t think I was so keen on it before I moved to England, but that was many moons ago. Anyway, I’ve always  enjoyed cake(s) and colourful things, and now I just throw tea into the mix and call it a tea party.

Where do I begin to catch you up with all the news?
Well, how about first of all I offer you some cake? This Icing Wonderment and Spectacle of Magic Cakeness is the incredible result of me asking Leoni of Happy Cakes to make a cake for the Opening Party that we had at Pompom Rouge. People are still talking about this cake two weeks later! No surprise really – not only does it look like no other cake EVER but it was a Mud Cake. And WHAT a mud cake! Even I couldn’t eat more than one piece, it was so chocolatey. If you need cake, Leoni is the woman to see!

So, Pompom Rouge has been Christened with cake and champagne and lots of good friends (thank you all for coming!) and is now Official.

Things heated up even further after the party… it was time to pull out Ye Olde Dressmaking Skills and help my daughter prepare for her high school graduation. The girls all looked beautiful…

My baby is second from the right. I looked at these girls and thought how incredibly lovely they all are and hoped that they understand that.

And there’s more news. Big news (that is ever so slightly stale now because I have been kept away from my blog by Life for too many days)!!

WE HAVE A BOOK CONTRACT!!!!!!! Yes, the Twelve by Twelve project is going to be published and we are going to be authors (some of us are already authors, but I’m a Virgin Author). This has been brewing for a long time, as you can imagine, and it has been very hard to keep it under wraps. But now we can sing it loud and proud. I was almost about to say that it is the best thing ever, but the truth is that participating in this group has been even better than getting the book contract. These women are extraordinary and I still can’t quite believe that Diane(who started the project) thought to invite me to join in all those months ago.

¡Bonitas piernas! ¿A que hora abren?

Este post es algo tramposo pues no se trata de alsun asunto o tema particular. Solamente encontre esta buena foto y quise compartirlas con ustedes.  ¿ A poco la zorrita de la foto tiene un par de piernotas capaz de provocar infartos? Sin embargo, a la que le debemos dar las gracias es a su amiga de rosita (que se ve que tambien esta potable), la cual, segun se ve, fue la que animo a su amiga carnosa a mostrar su fenomenal par de apendices. ¡Gracias por ser tan cooperativa, ojala hubiera mas mujeres como tu… la neta!

i like music some people think are weird, sitting on windowsills, blogging about the most random things, floral stuff, being in love, chick flicks, romantic comedies, just the simple idea of cosiness, cherry blossoms, peonies, delicate things. i like pretty pretty tattoos, like birdcages, cherry blossoms and words. i like photography but i haven’t a single clue how to work a camera, corals, bright colors, pinks and reds. i like new york lofts, cosy apartments, beautiful architectures, daydreaming, cotton, books, reading for hours and hours, hot chocolate on a cold night, watching movies, sweet snacks, icecream, teenage love, friends, family, 80’s fashion, 90’s music, the beatles, believing in soulmates, mint chocolate Bailey’s. i like rainy days, falling asleep in the middle of writing a poem then continuing writing later, i like the sound and smell of the rain, the feel of the sun on my skin, noodles, food, pasta. pretty things, people, smooth skin, the smell of vanilla, the taste of chocolates, 50’s and 60’s fashion, fashion, fairy tales, all of the disney stories, vintage everything, dressing up, quotes, lyrics. i also like peace, originality.
