Violence is prevalent in society, no matter where you live is likely that violence does not feel any

Violence is prevalent in society, no matter where you live is likely that violence does not feel anything you want. Considering the possibility of being abused can be very annoying. You may not want to admit that you too can become a target at any time, but it is so important to overcome fear and to address the issue. This way we can afford to take the necessary precautions to prevent vulnerability to attack and can also helpto be better prepared to defend yourself and your family or friends in case of attack.

When we think and visualize a situation that needs to defend himself physically, you can imagine in a garage or in a dark alley or on the road for your car in an empty parking lot at night and think you can not would not be alone in these positions, of course, risky and vulnerable. Although this thought process does not imply an understanding ofPrevention does not mean you need to know self defense!

According to the National Organization for Women (NOW) in the United States, women are more frequently attacked by someone who knows, or even someone you trust. They found that each year 572,000 women are assaulted by someone who is intimately involved, and the results of these 170,000 incidents in the hall of emergency care, hospitalization or medical care. However, ifstatistics of child abuse, like many other denominations that are not reported? Even the most conservative estimates suggest up to 2 to 4 million all races and classes are beaten every year.

Considering that violence against women knows no boundaries, as class or race goes, I think it is reasonable to assume that the rates may be similar around the world, even more, in many countries where Women are still routinely discriminated against.

Now theinforms us that every year approximately 132,000 women in the US report having been victims of rape or attempted rape, and more than half of them knew their attackers. They estimate that anywhere from 2 to 6 million rapes and attempted rapes go unreported! They also claim that 1.2 million women each year are forcibly raped by their current or former male parents, some more than once.

These are almost unbelievable statistics and anyone can surely become one of them unexpectedly. You do not should leave you a victim simply because you lack knowledge and training of cons-attack and defend yourself! We are able to play an active role to ensure that these rates do not increase but decrease, just learn to be responsible for our safety and flat out refuse to be another victim.

If an attacker learns that his victims will not be mistreated and abused, do you think twice before continuing to look for battered women? I think. We are the lowestsex is no more! Check back for future articles on this topic, or start educating your self on defense and return to tell other readers about your experience.

How To Cure Acne – Not Just Treat The Symptoms – Without Harmful Chemicals Have you read the l

How To Cure Acne – Not Just Treat The Symptoms – Without Harmful Chemicals
Have you read the latest news on Accutane? Don’t panic – Skin Fitness Plus has the solution!

New Study May Deal Final Blow To Acne Drug Accutane
“The study bolstered evidence of a link between the drug, pulled from the market in June, and inflammatory bowel disease.”
By Shari Roan, November 7, 2009. LA Times

Why Skin Fitness Plus is different…
First of all, Skin Fitness Plus has NEVER used Accutane as a treatment for acne. Since we are continually evaluating all product ingredients on the market for toxic ingredients and possible harmful side effects, we have always been aware of its potential danger. Our methodology is based on creating health, beauty and prevention - “wholistic dermatology”, which means looking at the body as a ‘whole’ – asking …why you are experiencing the symptoms and optimizing all the body’s organs and internal systems to provide a cure for the problem vs. just relieving the symptoms which will return if the cause is not cured. The skin is a window to what is going on inside so we know you have to treat the skin (the largest organ of the body) in a scientifically correct way, from the inside out, combining supplementation, hormonal and diet support, with non-toxic, chemically correct, therapeutic skin products and technology that work most effectively, to provide long-lasting and healthful results. By utilizing the best tools for the job you also receive the best value to achieve your goals the most quickly. If we do otherwise, your treatments will work 50% at best, your symptoms will reoccur and your health may be impacted in the future – as with Accutane

How DO we cure the acne problem?
Curing acne is a process and there is no “magic bullet”. Acne is a symptom of larger issues – the result of inflammation, fungal overgrowth in the body, lifestyle, toxicities, hormones, allergies and genetics.

The solution (yes, there IS a solution) comes down to science and prevention. Science – working with the body internally and externally to find the cure AND prevention – to stop the re-occurrence. An essential part of the solution is to assess the organs and internal systems of your body utilizing the BioMeridian Technology (http://www.skinfitnessplus.com/biomeridian1.htm). Then we address your diet, medications, hormones, allergies and (toxic) ingredients in food, skin and personal grooming products and of course stress levels, which all play important roles in treating and curing the problem. (Please see posts below and www.skinfitnessplus.com). We hone in and find the culprit – and often it’s not just one!

To conveniently and easily guide you though the process, you will receive an individualized Action Plan – a road map, to help you effectively achieve healthy, beautiful and clear skin and get rid of scarring, with long-lasting results. With a combination of a customized anti-acne/anti-fungal diet, targeted supplements, bio-identical hormones (if needed) and non-toxic, non-inflammatory skin products and laser technology (if needed) that really works, you will see continual, progressive improvement and actually feel better in the process! The side effects of OUR methods are better health.

You can cure your acne problem and prevent breakouts. We want you to look in the mirror and be happy AND healthy – life is meant to be lived and enjoyed!
–

I created the Skin Fitness Plus methodologies – scientifically correct, yet simple formulas for science vs. commerce, healthful “wholistic” dermatology, that work, are doable and affordable. After years of witnessing the same methods used by most, which resulted in not curing the problem or harmful side effects, I felt it was imperative to offer treatments that worked – pragmatic solutions, scientifically and physiologically correct formulas addressing the skin and body as a whole from the inside and out. The essence of these formulas is to always treat the skin as an integral instrument of the body’s orchestra, where all the organs and internal systems perform in tune…beautifully!

Here is an article sent to the Brampton Board of Trade Trade Talks newspaper on November 9, 2009

BBOT Trade Talks Article

Viruses, Trojan, Malware, Why education is the only way

By now you have probably had one of the above or know someone that has had a run in with them. With 99% of all email on the Internet being JUNK or SPAM most Malware is spread through email. The new method of Malware ditribution is now via websites. 50% of all Malware infections are now from web pages. Some of the sites that have been infected in the past are Twitter and Wikipedia. I have witnessed myself an attempted infection from a product review web site.

Here are the best ways to reduce or prevent an attack.

Always run a reputable AntiVirus product. There is a disagreement if free software is worth the price. My feeling is that anything is better than nothing, but poor software can give you a false sense of security. Microsoft has released their Security Essentials and it is one of the best FREE security products available for individual computers.

Do not download software from file sharing sites. Most of the software on these sites is infected with various viruses and malware. It has even been reported that organized crime is hacking software and movies and posting them on these sites to gain access to peoples computers and money to help further their cause.

Practise safe surfing and emailing. Large companies will never send you an email with a ZIP file in it and large software companies will not send you an email with a link to update or speed up their software.

The #1 infection we have been seeing for the past 2 months is a “fake anti-virus program”. 90% of all computers that we have had to clean have this virus on it. It has come to the user as an email with a ZIP attachment from Adobe claimng to be an update or an email from a large shipping company claiming to be a label or tracking information. Do not open these emails, they are all fake. This has been the hardest virus to prevent since protection alone can not prevent it since the user is choosing to install it. The other problem is that the virus is changing every week and the Anti-Virus vendors can not keep up with it. The only way to is to educate your staff and prevent them from getting the email or opening the email.

For a link to a FREE legitmate scanning tool to see if you are infected email me and I will forward it on.

Diabetes is big in my family: I have a sister who is a brittle diabetic, plus one nephew and two nie

Diabetes is big in my family: I have a sister who is a brittle diabetic, plus one nephew and two nieces with juvenile onset diabetes. I see how it affects their lives, so yes, I care about it a lot because I see the impact on people I love. I just found a great article called “Why Should We Care about Diabetes?” The truth of the matter is we are all at risk for developing diabetes. Here is the beginning paragraph of this article:

November is American Diabetes Month® and we’re asking the question – why should you care about diabetes?

Because it is the leading cause of kidney disease, blindness, and amputations, yet nearly 25% of people who have it don’t even know it. In the United States 24 million people have been diagnosed with diabetes and the American Diabetes Association estimates that there are another 6 million who have the disease but don’t know it. So chances are, you or someone you love have been affected by diabetes in some way. But even if you haven’t been affected by diabetes, you need to know that diabetes is one of the major public health crises of the 21st century, and it continues to grow to epidemic proportions. And a very worrisome concern is that the death rate for diabetes has continued to grow since 1987, whereas the death rates due to heart disease, stroke and cancer have actually declined. Read the rest of the article at http://www.wellnessnewsonline.net/AmyHagerup/page1.html

What steps have you taken to head off diabetes? Diet is huge! Building healthy cells is also necessary. It is so true that our health is our wealth. I surely want to invest in my health wisely.

•	Master pregnancy molecule prevents breast cancer
•	Molecule may be able to be converted into anti-breast cancer drug
•	Clinical trials needed to validate new drug safety, efficacy

PHILADELPHIA – Researchers have found that hormones produced during pregnancy induce a protein that directly inhibits the growth of breast cancer. This protein, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), may serve as a viable, well-tolerated agent for the treatment and prevention of breast cancer, according to findings published in Cancer Prevention Research, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research.

“Hormones in pregnancy, such as estrogen, all induce AFP, which directly inhibits the growth of breast cancer,” said lead researcher Herbert Jacobson, Ph.D., who is a basic breast cancer researcher in the Center for Immunology and Microbial Diseases and in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Albany Medical College, N.Y.

“The body has a natural defense system against breast cancer,” he added. “AFP needs to be safely harnessed and developed into a drug that can be used to protect women from breast cancer.”

Recent studies have shown that hormones released during pregnancy, such as estrogen, progesterone and human chorionic gonadotropin, reduce a women’s risk for breast cancer. AFP is a protein normally produced by the liver and yolk sac of a fetus. Jacobson and colleagues sought to determine whether administering pregnancy hormones to carcinogen-exposed rats led them to produce AFP, which in turn produces the protective effect of pregnancy in the absence of pregnancy.

Results from this study showed that treatment with estrogen plus progesterone, estrogen alone or human chorionic gonadotropin reduced the incidence of mammary cancers in rats. Furthermore, the researchers noted that each of these treatments elevated the serum level of AFP and that AFP directly inhibited the growth of breast cancer cells growing in culture, suggesting that these hormones of pregnancy are preventing breast cancer through their induction of AFP.

Cancer Prevention Research Editorial Board Member Powel Brown, M.D., Ph.D., said while these preclinical findings are important and suggest a role of AFP in breast cancer prevention, they are not yet ready to be used in the clinic.

“The researchers have not directly demonstrated the cancer preventive activity of AFP, instead they found an association of these hormones preventing mammary tumors. None of these treatments prevented mammary tumors in 100 percent of the rats, it appears to delay mammary tumor formation and prevent breast cancer development in approximately 30 to 50 percent of the rats,” said Brown, professor of medicine and cancer prevention and clinical cancer prevention department chairman at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.

“This study is promising and suggests that additional animal studies need to be done before translation to humans,” he said. “We may want to further test AFP for its cancer prevention activity.”

Jacobson and colleagues are currently conducting studies in which they have isolated a small piece of AFP molecule and are working to convert it into a breast cancer preventative agent.

There are many things you can do to help prevent illnesses, such as N1H1 (Swine Flu), in your family. Most of these do not cost anything and are things you can do everyday.

Before all else, if you are sick, please stay home! Yes, times are tough for many, but please think of the greater good and stay home to get well.

Frequently wash hands with plain soap and water (there is no evidence that anti-bacterial products are anymore effective at removing germs than plain soap and water). (See how to make your own non-toxic foaming hand wash.) BabyGanics has a great non-toxic foam hand soap as well and is available at Babies R Us.

Use kid-safe, non-alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water is not available. I love CleanWell Hand Sanitizer. It’s available at GNC and Whole Foods. (See my CleanWell product review.)

Degerm. When you get home each day, encourage everyone to do the following:

     a. Remove your shoes to keep germs from getting on the floors where children play

     b. Change into clean clothes

     c. Take a shower if at all possible, or at minimum, thoroughly wash hands

     d. Wash any toys with soap and water or vinegar and water that your child may have brought with them

Do not touch your face, bite your nails, put your hands in your mouth, etc. Teach your children to do the same.

Keep babies from sharing and mouthing toys if and when possible. Wash them frequently with soap and water, or vinegar and water to sanitize.

Take care of yourself: Get enough sleep, exercise, eat a balanced diet, drink lots of water (as opposed to sugary drinks).

Take a vitamin supplement, especially Vitamin D. Some studies suggest illnesses such as the flu are brought on by lack of Vitamin D. I love Carlson’s Baby Vitamin D drops. They are actually cheaper than the traditionally recommended infant multi-vitamin, minus all the extra “junk” ingredients. They also have kids’ and adult versions. One drop a day is all you need – too easy!

Take a daily probiotic. A recent study showed a significant decrease in the report of illnesses among a group who took a daily probiotic than those who did not. It’s also a good idea to mix up the brand and strains for maximum benefit. Children’s Rhino probiotic comes in a chewable and powder form and is all natural.

Cough and sneeze into a tissue. If one is not available, use your sleeve (your hands will come in contact with more people and surfaces than your sleeve).

Do not share utensils, drinks, etc. even with your children or spouse.

What should you do to prepare for a N1H1 outbreak?

Wear a face mask. It may offer additional protection during an outbreak.

Avoid public places as much as possible during an outbreak.

Stock up. Stock the freezer with veggies and meat, the pantry full of non-perishables, and anything else you would need to survive in your house for days or weeks at a time, so in the event of a major outbreak, you will not need to venture out of the house. Think toilet paper, laundry detergent, toiletries, pet food, etc.

Have treatment supplies on hand such as fever reducing products, thermometers, tissues, hand sanitizer, etc.

Refill any reoccurring prescriptions ahead of time

Prepare for childcare. Have someone lined up to care for your kids in the event schools or daycares close, or you yourself become sick.

Discuss telecommuting options with your boss.

Visit the CDC’s website and understand the symptoms of N1H1. If you or your child becomes sick, contact your doctor or pediatrician immediately to understand any warning signs so you can get prompt attention when it is needed.

Many parents are looking for natural ways to prevent the swine flu, whether it’s in addition to, or lieu of the N1H1 vaccine; and healthy adults currently are not eligible for the vaccine. The fact of the matter is a little less than 50% of the US population will receive a N1H1 vaccine, whether by choice, ineligibility or lack of availability. Additionally, the vaccine is not 100% effective (so far it’s proved to be effective about 90% of the time), thus it’s nice to have a little back up. The author is not advocating against the vaccine in anyway and this is not meant to spark any type of debate on vaccines.

Sometimes, you begin to read a blog post and you know what your next post is going to be about. I just read Justin Dixon’s post: How to Find Your Message and Stand Out. In it, he writes:

Your message is the story that you tell people about your own life and theirs. It is a consistent message and it is your brand, and without a strong message your blog is going to just end up being a raindrop lost in the ocean.

I don’t need to find my message. I know it:

Many people, all over the world, suffer from social anxiety. If you’re not one of them, they need your help. They need support to break out of their walls, because it’s an extremely difficult process. You may not understand why it’s difficult. Take it from me; it is.

And another, related, message:

In most cases, social anxiety doesn’t need to happen. If people noticed the signs in time, that wall would never need to become so thick and strong.

That paves the way for at least two future blog posts:

What you can do to help.

The signs that should be addressed before they lead to something worse.

Whoever said an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure may not have been entirely off the mark

Whoever said an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure may not have been entirely off the mark. This is especially true when one considers that taking the right action now can save costly problems in the future, and for an example of how this works, look no further than the trunk of your car. Why? Because that is most likely where your spare tire is. Most of today’s cars come with what is often referred to as a “donut,” or “space-saver” spare tire, much smaller in diameter and tread-width that the car’s other tires. As the name implies, this type of spare tire was designed literally to save space and to provide more trunk room, especially as modern cars became smaller, and is supposed to be used only on a temporary basis. While many people may be aware that their spare tire is smaller, they are unaware that donut spare tires are for only temporary, limited use. Unlike the full-sized spare tires of the past, these smaller tires are not designed to be used for a prolonged period of time, or as a replacement for a regular tire. Their sidewall and tread are smaller and thinner than a regular tire, and much more prone to damage and accelerated wear.Another thing most drivers may not realize is that donut spare tires are only safe to use at lower speeds, usually at no more than 50 MPH. Again, this is because the tire was designed to be used temporarily to enable the motorist to get their car safely off the road and to the shop for the repair or replacement of the service tire. However, there is one thing almost all drivers fail to recognize, and that is that the air pressure in these spare tires needs to be checked and adjusted periodically, just as with any tire. Space-saver tires typically require a much higher pressure than a conventional tire does. The recommended pressure is provided on the sidewall of the tire, and may be as high as 60 PSI. Maintaining the correct air pressure is crucial to the performance and safety of any tire, but with these smaller donut spare tires it is critical. Already smaller and lighter in design, low air pressure will definitely cause them to fail prematurely. Hidden out of sight under a cover in the bottom of the trunk, most people forget about them until they have a flat tire and need to use them. Having a flat tire is always an inconvenience, but it can become a disaster if your spare tire is flat. What do you do then?To avoid such a scenario from happening to you, make it a point to periodically check the pressure in your donut tire, or have your mechanic do it for you. Doing so could very well save you from the added aggravation and expense of having to have your car towed. This is called “preventive maintenance.”This same principle applies to your oral health, too. Scheduling regular check-ups by your dentist will ensure healthy teeth and gums. Unlike your car’s tires, the care of your teeth and gums is important to both your natural good looks and your overall health. Waiting until a tooth hurts to see your dentist is a bad idea. Pain is your body’s way of letting you know something is wrong. Having regular check-ups will enable your dentist to treat any oral health problems before they become major, and often before there is a problem at all. Neglecting your oral care could not only adversely affect your overall health, but could also result in serious tooth and gum issues, and additional discomfort and costs, which is why we encourage you to schedule regular check-ups. Our offices are open seven days a week, every day of the year, including holidays. In order to accommodate the personal schedules of our patients, our hours are 8:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. So, an ounce of prevention can really be worth at least as much as a pound of cure. Whether it is checking the pressure of your spare tire or having your dentist check the health of your teeth, taking the right action now before there is a problem saves a lot of trouble later. Call it cheap insurance.
