Palin derangement Syndrome — when the leftists go as batshit crazy as the right-winger extremi

Palin derangement Syndrome — when the leftists go as batshit crazy as the right-winger extremists.

Last year we watched seemingly sane people go absolutely batshit crazy at the mere mention of Senator Clinton’s name. I observed the Obowma cultists engaging in misogynistic hate speech at the presidential caucus meeting in my precinct. I watched young men get up to speak on behalf of their messiah, Obama and they shook with rage when they were speaking about Senator Clinton. Not a single pro Obama speaker could tell us what Obama would do if elected (still waiting for that answer) all they could do is chant memorized anti-Clinton speeches. She was owned by the corporations etc. It turns out that everything that these Obama cultists claimed they hated about Senator Clinton — turns out to be turn about Obama.

Then Clinton was out of the race (although she had the MOST votes — but she didn’t have a penis) and the cultists were over joyed — HE had won. But Senator McCain had a surprise for the Obot fanatics — Sarah Palin. All the venom that the women hating rat pack had used against Clinton was now directed against Sarah Palin.

One of the leaders of this war on women has been Andrew Sullivan — a little man who blogs and writes for an east coast publication called the Atlantic. Evidently this Andrew Sullivan person is an expat Brit who claims to be a “liberal” (whatever that label means?). I generally ignore the insane ramblings of east coast bigots. However, when this gas bag started claiming that Sarah Palin had faked her 5th pregnancy and that Sullivan wanted all (and I mean all) medical records to prove his wacky theory — even I couldn’t help but notice that this individual was suffering from an advanced case of the Palin derangement Syndrome, which is an out growth of the Clinton Derangement Syndrome which is really just WAR ON ALL WOMEN.

Then the boyz blogs (so-called Progressives) started to follow the lead of the pathetic Andrew Sullivan regarding the truth about Palin’s baby. It turns out that Palin’s daughter was pregnant and that she could not BE the biological mother of Trig (Palin’s baby) — that fact only slowed the War on Women for a few seconds.

There are three blogs that have done an outstanding job of reporting on the Palin Degrangement Syndrome and focusing on the ongoing war on women.

The Confluence

The Reclusive Leftist

Arthur Silber’s Power of narrative

Once Upon A Time is Arthur Silber’s take on the Palin Derangement Syndrome and the raving lunatic Andrew Sullivan. In my opinion a sane person would simply note that Palin wrote a book about her historic campaign and then walk away. The rest of the misogynists are going crazy with fear that Sarah Palin — because as others have said — Sarah Palin has scary lady parts and women scare the hell out of a lot of seemingly sane men (and some women as well).

This country has a problem with hating women — not just sort of disliking women — but HATE. It could be that the Salem Witch Trials are still going on and the uppity women who don’t know their place need to be punished. Good on Senator Clinton for being such a helpful Secretary to Penis in Chief — I mean — the guy in the white house who is called Obama. Secretary of State Clinton knows her place –why she serves tea to really important men from around the world.

Sorry girls the world has NOT changed a whole hell of a lot since when I was a girl. We had Elenore Roosevelt and you have Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin. I knew early on that this country hated women — but some females are living in a constant state of denial and some even contribute to the problem. Some of these women even call themselves feminists.

Now I am so glad that Obama chose someone other than Hilary Clinton as the Vice Presidential Candidate. Joe Biden is technically still a Washington outsider, who has the foreign policy that Obama lacks as a candidate. I know that the two of them will make a good team for the White House. Great choice Mr Obama!! As for the Clinton supporters, I feel that it is too bad because their candidate lost. Hilary is taking the loss graciously, unlike Bill Clinton. Some of her die hard supporters are a little angry that Hilary was not considered for the Vice Presidency. I do understand why she is not considered, first of all she is a polarizing figure (i.e. The Puma), next I will have to say the unthinkable, that she is a woman. Let me explain that, a woman and a minority on the same ticket would be a hard ticket to win the White House. This country is having a hard enough time trying to put an African American in the White House, so putting a woman on his ticket will be even harder for the country to swallow. And no, I dont think Obama owes Hilary anything, because in reality the Clintons did not pave the way for him to the White House. She ran her campaign with alot of hatred towards Obama, and really made you think what did the Clintons every think about African Americans? We know what they were thinking, as long as African Americans were not a threat to them, they were just fine with them. Also too did anyone think that maybe she didnt want have the vice presidency. You do remember that Obama and Hilary had that private conversation a while ago? As for those who say that Biden was not a fan of Obama, guess what, politics make strange bedfellows!!!

Go Obama/Biden 08

The Atlantic scored 300 internal documents for the Clinton campaign. The plan on scanning the docum

The Atlantic scored 300 internal documents for the Clinton campaign. The plan on scanning the documents and posting them online. This is great and unfortunately I will be busy preparing for classes next semester so I won’t have as much time to search through them myself, when they come out. But, Im sure the press and other bloggers will be all over this. Too bad this couldn’t have come out earlier. They are going to release the articles next week supposedly.

The internal documents contain letters sent to and from Clinton campaign advisers. The Clinton people are very upset about this. Which, leads me to believe that they used more dirty tactics then they already admitted to doing. I also expect most of these harmful memos to be from Mark Penn and Howard Wilson. People in the Clinton campaign already admitted to casually to using the fears of Jewish voters against Obama, but luckily Obama is winning among Jewish voters, so those tactics didn’t work.

Life is great…filled with surprises. But, who knows maybe the Clinton people are panicking for no reason, maybe they just sent internal documents talking about how nice it is outside. We won’t know until the documents come out, but Im sure they won’t be about the weather.

Anticipation is killing me, but, for know I will be spending $600 on books for classes and will be waiting in anticipation for some money.

Have you ever sat in a room with a flatulent dog? For those who haven’t, it’s like inhal

Have you ever sat in a room with a flatulent dog? For those who haven’t, it’s like inhaling rotten egg pudding. It lingers like a bad hangover. In this type of situation, a person has two choices: to leave the room or hold their breath, grit their teeth and pray for a breeze to carry it away. I bring this to mind only because it reminds me of how I felt during this primary season. On the one hand I wanted to stay in the room and hold my breath. I wanted to collect what small information I could from the snobby political ads and the petty, rehashed debates. On the other hand, simply walking out of the room was a tempting option. Voters, myself included, had the choice of leaving the room and being uninformed or witnessing the schoolyard style bickering in it’s fragrant entirety. I held my breath and stayed to watch.

In the end, the antics of nearly all the candidates made me want to vomit up hell’s fury. At times, it was like watching kids squabble on a playground. There was little talk about issues and too much talk about reverends and misrememberances. Finger-pointing, blaming, criticizing and bitterness abound among people supposedly on the same team. On top of that, conversations about being black, female or old dominated radio and television. At times the media coverage was the worst part. Every poll could have been made completely by a team of monkeys and we wouldn’t have been the wiser.

I would rather lick a gas station toilet seat than go through it again. It left a bad taste in my mouth that no amount of tooth brushing could cure. However, there is still over four months before we vote. I can already smell the next wave on the horizon.

Lets forget campaign finance reform. Instead, lets see some campaign etiquette reform.

Round two is about to begin. Four more months of even more intense bickering. In this type of situation, a person has two choices: to leave the room or hold their breath and grit their teeth. I will be turning off my TV, one helping of rotten egg pudding is enough for me. I’ll be brushing the bad taste from my teeth well into November as it is.

Montana
Obama 56%
Clinton 41%

South Dakota
Clinton 55%
Obama 45%

That leaves the delegate count at (2,118 needed):
Obama: 2,158.5
Clinton: 1,920

Seems like it’s clinched, huh? Maybe someone should tell Hillary that…

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh….

Allright no results yet, but you can only imagine my excitement. I do have an exam tomorrow I have to study for… but hell, this is once in a lifetime event! TONIGHT’s THE NIGHT!

Forget the “Clinton-VP” talk and how she lost the nomination. Her speech was actually the worst she’s ever said: bitter, sour, sad, empty, irrelevant… It actually angered me how out of touch she was with reality. It’s like she’s the only one who hasn’t gotten the memo: HE WON! So please, let’s stop talking about “Who’s the stronger candidate” the people and the delegates have chosen and IT’s NOT YOU!. I actually think she’s the worst thing that could happen to women. I mean imagine next time a woman tries to run for office… Clinton has made her campaign so emotional, divisive, moody, needy and relentless (in an ugly way), such a disservice to women, it’s as if she did not realise this is bigger than her. Ultimately, he represented the African american race to the fullest. Winner or loser, the african american community would’ve come out of this victorious because of the magnificent campaign he’s run. Anyhow, strong arming the nominee to pick you as a VP is seldom an effective idea. By saying “the 18 mil people who voted for me need to be respected” #%^& Please. There’s better ways to go about it than forcing yourself onto a ticket. I was honestly starting to take pitty and thought maybe she might be a good enough pick for VP, then I listened to her speech and that reminded me, like I could’ve forgotten, how vile and bitter she is. Her speech and tone were both disappointing and infiruiating. For her not only not to acknowledge his victory, but to still claim she’s the stronger candidate is simply to dismiss the hisoric moment yesterday night represented. Grace is what she needs, and a reality check! A vote for Clinton does not ultimately mean a vote against Obama, so it’s not like he has to rally 17 million people from Clinton to him. Most of them would vote for him, some need more convincing than others, but they would vote for him against McCain.

There are so many reasons why he shouldn’t pick her: the Bubba effect (Bubba for Bill, his new nickname used in that unfair Vanity Fair article that is coming out in the July issue that he is so mad about, and rightfully so) he’s just too much of a narcissistic force; she sounds like she wants to fight Obama more than to support him, independents and especially Republicans hate her guts, and most importantly, she just represents everything he said he was going to fight against: old politics. How do you explain to your constituency you went for the one thing you claimed you would fight all throughout your campaign?

But, this night is not about her, it’s about him and the fantastic speech he delivered, as expected. He looked so presidential in the 20,000 people arena while McCain just looked pathetic with his 2000 people and his green “Leader we can believe in” ripped-off slogan. Obama got emotional at the end of his speech and I swear he looked like he was about to shed a tear. This is history in the making. Looking at the bigger picture, because this is bigger than Obama, imagine teachers, parents and minorities in inner cities and how inspirational this is. If he can do it, then maybe the system is not all that meant to just keep you and minorities down. I’m not saying it’s perfect and fair, but this makes it look possible. Who would’ve thought!

In the end, let us rejoice… Enough of Hillary! This is O’s moment.

Happy Bday Anderson… (I have such a crush on him.) And he’s 40 tonight!

Back to my “theory of Economics” studying… I’m nowhere near done. This is going to be a long night!

Tchuss,

1. Looks likely that tonight really really is the final night of the 2008 Primary season. Following the polls closing in South Dakota and Montana (the last two states to vote), Clinton will deliver a “major speech” from New York. Undeclared superdelegates (gotta love the fact that spellcheck picks up that word) have been moving increasingly toward Obama, and today House Whip James Clyburn will endorse him (not much of a surprise… Clyburn has been very critical of Clinton since the South Carolina primary.) Obama now needs less than 40 delegates (pledged or super) to clinch the nomination.

Ah well, just four more years until another primary season, and we get running mate selection, conventions, general election and midterm elections in between.

2. Ted Kennedy underwent “successful” brain surgery yesterday, meaning that assuming there are no complications, he likely extended his life by a few months – maybe a year.

3. In keeping with news on Democratic Party Legends, Bob Byrd was taken by ambulance to the hospital yesterday with a high fever, and was kept overnight for observation. He’s 90 years old, and this is his third stay in the hospital this year. I did think it was a big tactless last night of Olbermann to conclude the announcement of this “breaking news” by mentioning that the Governor of West Virginia is a Democrat…

I’m suffering from primary fatigue. At this point, I want Obama to just be crowned because if he’s not, his supporters will be insufferable – more so than they are now. Maybe he’ll win and maybe he’ll be a good president and if both those things are true I’ll feel very relieved.

If he doesn’t win, then my fears about him being able to fight and win will have been justified (it’s all on him if he loses) and we get President McCain and my preferred candidate can attempt to win the nomination again when she feels it’s time.

At the very least, all the candidates from the two main political parties are a step up from the current occupant. Not ideal, but a step above.

To quote a commenter on the SLOG, this all feels like it should be a lot more fun and exciting than it’s turned out to be and I’m just ready for it to be over.

Austin, my current hometown, was host last night to the kind of event which gets national coverage.

Austin, my current hometown, was host last night to the kind of event which gets national coverage. This time, 43,436 people tried to attend the event but only a hundred of them got selected. There were also 400 tickets for around 18,000 UT students who had entered the lottery.

Contrary to what one might guess, the event was not about Longhorn Football. Although, one of the protagonists in last night’s event, a basketball player, did visit UT’s famous team.

The “post-game analysis” makes it sound like a match between two sports teams.

Interestingly enough, it’s a mixed sport, making it easy for journalists to use pronouns to distinguish players in the two teams. One source described the night’s event as possible end game for the team led by a woman:

After losing a string of contests to [him] over the last several weeks, she is running neck-and-neck with him in Texas, according to some polls, a state in which she previously had a commanding lead.

One might think it was a fashion show:

the gold piping on her raised black collar and pockets gave her a martial, commander-in-chief look (the very model of a modern major general)

But I also get the impression that it was a theater premiere, with one source describing one actor’s “classic ‘I-feel-your-pain’ finale” meant to go to watchers’ “heads and hearts.”

In the end, the event was mostly “media event.” By the media, for the media, of the media.

Most likely, it won’t change the dynamic of this race, though the true effect of it will be determined by the media coverage around it: Should it get replayed over and over on television, it just may have an impact on this race and could stand out as the debate’s most striking moment.

So, I’m a bit puzzled by the whole thing.

I’ve tried to write this post so many times, but mainly it just comes out boring and wrong-sou

I’ve tried to write this post so many times, but mainly it just comes out boring and wrong-sounding. Still, I feel the need to remark on something. Barack Obama won the South Carolina primary. Before that he won the Iowa caucus. Hilary Clinton won New Hampshire. An din every contest thus far John Edwards has come in third.

Now, I must say that I do like John Edwards best, myself. However, how fucking momentous is it that, in America, the white guy is behind both the black man and the woman?

This is a serious matter here, people. <s>This is the first time that a black man’s bid for president has ever, ever been this strong. To win one primary? To even come close in any?</s> [in comments, I am totally pwned by history]

This is the first time, as far as I know, that a woman’s bid for president has come this far (unless Geraldine Ferraro did better than I remember).

It’s crazy that we’re in 2008 and only now, for the first time, is it really a consideration that Obama or Ms. Clinton will be sitting in the White House this time next year. But it’s an exciting prospect.

Yes, I agree with those who say that your vote should not depend solely on gender or race (but a big FUCK YOU to Bill Clinton on that score). But neither should those attributes be ignored. Because being a woman or being a black person is as much a part of who you are as your morals or political views or worldview. It will inform the decisions you make. For my part, I long for someone without one of the major icky privileges to get this job. Be it white privilege or male privilege. Sadly, we’re going to have to deal with one or the other, plus economic privilege and a host of others.

I’m excited, though. Everything else about this election annoys me except for the fact that here, in America, we’re seriously talking about electing one of these people.

It’s about damn time!
