So, this is a self-portrait that I happen to really like.

I haven’t uploaded any new photos in a few days. I have not really had the opportunity to take many. It has been so cold and rainy out.

I do however want to start trying some new things in Photoshop with textures and things. I might be re-editing some of my photos just for fun.

My addiction to deviantART has grown fatal.  I spend way too much time on there.  I have realized that I reallyreallyreally want to a pro account.  I also want one for Flickr. However that costs $50 that I do not have.  Next $50 that I get, is going towards those two things.  I love them both oh so much. However I still want to keep my Fotki account because of the great price on prints. Those prices are just amazing.

Well, I have come to the realization that I am a Pro-Am.  This term means professional-amateur. Apparently in the world of art, people use the term to refer to anyone who takes there hobby to the extreme.  That would be me. I am not a professional because I do not turn a profit. However, I take my photography very serious and try to learn to the best of my abilities.

On another note, I want to start making icons. I have no idea what they will be used for, but I want to make them. It will be fun.

These pics are lifted third hand from Wrecked Magazine and D-Town. Mike Pollard and Derek King, both drivers for TMF Opposition have been out in California at Irwindale Speedway trying to get their national Pro Formula D licenses. The top 16 qualifiers end up getting what they came for.

Derek got one qualifying run in while his car had a serious wiring problem that resulted in a fire. Still he qualified 16th. That’s a license!
Mike qualified FIRST and then went on to take second place in the competition. Here are the pics from the event. CONGRATS DUDES!

Went to watch Pro AM yesterday, got there a lil late, but still managed to catch the Top 8.

Wes found out a dope spot behind the ticket purchasing building, there was a flight of stairs behind the building that he spotted and we snuck around and sat up there. This gave us a perfect view of the initiation and the bank and also the whole course =). Plus, we didn’t have to pay wuhahah.

This dude ended up getting 1st place. He was from Canada I believe. Nice R32 SEDAN! WAH000 MY FAVORITE!

I was kinda surprised by the outcome. Normally these events are dominated by SoCal drifters, but for this event it seemed like SoCal drifters were the miniority. Many drivers came in from all over, like Washington, Texas, Canada, etc. I am happy that some of the people I drove with in Pro AM last year finally got their licenses such as Kelvin Arreola and Cyrus Martinez. I will be looking forward to seeing how they will do in Long Beach =), now theres more people to cheer for hehe. It was cool being back at a drift event, saw lotsa familiar faces, lotsa people asked why I wasn’t driving lol. Blah.

This nice looking battle-scarred and beaten Cressida was one of the drivers, I think he was from Texas. Dude kept spinning though =\, but nice car. Wes was really happy to see that people were actually drifting Cressidas and etc since he had one as his first car =).

JTuned had this mini auto-show thingy going on and Ben spotted Gordon with his sick daily driven 120,000 mile Evo 8 MR.

Thing is fking sexy! It’s a really complete build, but its still not finished yet. He has an Autopower roll cage inside, along with Recaro Pole Position bucket, harnesses, etc. In the motor he has a pretty crazy turbo setup, an HKS GT3037 I believe with many supporting mods. He’s actually running a Apex’i Power FC ECU which is pretty rare to use in the states as most people just tune off the stock ECU these days. Suspension is legit as well and you can obviously see the awesomeness of the exterior. He has a super rare Cusco wing, I think he said only him and somebody else has it in the states. I still can’t believe this thing is daily driven around the streets of LA, and he still keeps it so clean and intact like this. Crazy! PROPS!

So last year on November 14, 2008 I totaled my S14 at the Formula D Pro AM Finals held at the Redbull World Drift Championship in Long Beach. That event didn’t go right even in the very beginning. I remember I drove my car straight from G-Dimensions right into tech. My kill switch still wasn’t wired up right so Matt, Jeff, and I were frantically trying to pull a wire off the alternator before my car was to be teched so the car wouldve been running purely off the battery and whenever we flipped the switch, it would shut the car off. But we couldn’t do that in time and had to BS the tech guy ahhah. Whenever they turned the kill switch, I would use my turbo timer to kill the car hahah. But ya, that was hectic, if tech didnt go through and all that money was spent just to get there, that wouldve been a huge bummer. But now, looking back I sorta wish they didn’t let me through tech, maybe I would still have my S14 haha.

The roll cage in my car was only 3 days old, freshly welded up by Alex Pfeiffer. After the crash he came up and said, “Well thanks for crash testing my cages for me!” Haha.$1600 down the drain, Matt and I split the cage money 50/50. Without Matt, I couldn’t have made it to the event, he helped me out so much along the way.

Sooooo a year after… hmm. I was expecting to be in another drift car maybe 3 months after the crash and be drifting again. But, obviously that didn’t happen. After the crash, I became very unmotivated in school, I ditched school at least one day a week, sometimes skipping whole weeks and etc. Needless to say I only passed two classes out of the whole year, math and Criminal Justice. Because I flunked so many classes and etc at IVC, I was put on academic probation.

I started working full time at my parent’s company American Greenpower in Ontario. Working was enjoyable at first, but then it got worse and worse. Mainly because I started out doing simple things like lets say, editing documents, data entry and whatnot. But then it progressed into financial shit like using Quickbooks in which I have no fucking idea wtf I’m doing. So my mom started giving me lotsa grief and expectations with accounting stuff but I didn’t have ANY kind of accounting background at all and I also suck with numbers. Also since I worked full time I barely spent any time with friends. I lost touch with a couple of my OC friends and Riverside friends alike.

During this time, I also started living with Matt in his place in Rancho Cucamonga. His house was only 10 minutes and like 3 miles away from the office as opposed to 35 miles and 40 minutes if I drove from my house. This saved lots of money and mileage on my car and I also felt a little bit independent for a change. I had to go buy my own food and etc but it still didn’t feel like actually moving out..

I left American Greenpower at the end of August since I don’t think I was actually helping the company at all at this point and my brother was back from Hong Kong and ready to help the company. I decided to shift my focus to school and school only. I switched from IVC to SCC due to it being closer to my house (5 min drive) and also because of the academic probation thing. I didn’t have to deal with that at SCC. I got all the classes I wanted, had to petition for them but I got em, and all my teachers are pretty good. My grades are the highest they have ever been since like fking elementary school. So currently, I am very happy at where I stand academically, I just gotta keep up this momentum.

Unfortunately my focus on school has created a loss of touch between me and Outside Family (Matt and Thai). I meet with Matt maybe like once every two weeks, I haven’t seen Thai forever but we talk occasionally on AIM. The last time we all went drifting was probably over 6 months ago (I can’t even remember). I miss the good ol’ days of heading out to Willow Springs in the early morning, drifting all day, grabbing Pho on the way back. I miss drifting at the lot every Sunday and seeing smiles and just having a good time. I feel that Outside Family has really died this year. Matt has built a new car but is now seeking to sell it. Thai has like two cars and has built a new 350Z but still, we just aren’t motivated to drive anymore I guess.

So.. this brings me to the future.. I plan to have the S13 ready to go drifting in February. Theres not much left to do, I just need to get proper control arms, retune, alignment, and just check over the car for any missing or worn hoses and etc. I really want to do the Top Drift Battle series next year. I don’t plan on going to Formula D or anything like that, I just want to drift to drift. Drift for fun, not for recognition. I want to bring back the spirit of Outside Family again. We really felt like a family I think. Thai and Matt have helped me soooo much, I seriously can’t drift without them.

To achieve this goal of getting back into drifting in 2010, I need to have income of some sort. My brother and I are working on a new business venture and I also went down to Kohl’s and picked up a job application. Ian said they are hiring all the time. I think I should be able to balance school, work, and a little bit of drifting. The beauty of the Top Drift Battle series is that they only have events like every 2 months or so, so it gives adequate time in between each to prepare so it won’t be as hectic.

Sorry for the super long post, it was kinda overdue. I planned to post this up on Nov. 14 but I was at HellaFlush that day and wanted to post when I got back but I had to catch up with some school work, it was a pretty hectic week.

But ya, today I think I am gunna go to the Formula D Pro AM Finals in Irwindale =), I hope nobody kills their car like I did. I wanna see Forrest Wang rape the living shit out of everyone there. wah00!

This fast paced, action packed drifting event thrilled everyone with cars sliding sideways, smoking tyres and even stunt performances by Mattie Griffin. The afternoon rain drenched the track, increasing the difficulty for the drivers.

After an eight year absence, the 11th ceremony of the Hot d’Or Awards, the grand ceremony of French porn, made its return this week without missing a beat.

The event was held on the prestigious stage at the Salle Wagram in the City Of Lights – Paris, France – some 200 meters from the Place Charles de Gaulle-Etoile and a stone’s throw away from the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe.

In attendance was a plethora of porn elite including Jesse Jane, Jenna Haze, Alexis Texas, Katsuni, Jessica Drake, Kristina Rose, Christoph Clark and John Stagliano.

The overwhelming attendance of the mainstream journalistic press was an historic opportunity to give back to the French adult industry its place in mainstream media.

Evil Angel director Christoph Clark, nominated for Best Director of Gonzo, agreed “This ceremony is fantastic. It will be an unforgettable moment for me because I knew the first Hot d’Or 20 years ago. This will prove to the media that pornography is always.”

French director and nominee John B. Root echoes Clark’s thoughts “We have a great need of sequins and media, reminding people that the X is primarily a genre with artists. By coming out to Hot d’Or, the media restores speech to people who do this job and they return the cameras and the press to this kind of art, which still has plenty to say.”

“This is the ceremony where everyone should be,” admits nominee Mike Angelo, in the race for the title of Best Performer. “An old image when it was still the difference between amateur and professional. The time has come!”

In the history of the Hot d’Or, the Salle Wagram succeeds Lido, which hosted the ceremony in the capital in 1997, for the first time alternating with the tradition of Cannes. Formerly devoted to evenings of the Napoleonic Empire, the stage has seen the likes of Maria Callas, Georges Carpentier, Rostropovich and Lino Ventura. Created in 1865, this space of 850 square meters entirely wooded, with balcony, is the ideal setting for a gala dinner, followed by a lavish awards ceremony, presented by 1970s porn sensation Brigitte Lahaie, to honor France’s Hot Video Magazine’s 20th Anniversary.

This is gonna amplify everybody being all done up. It’s not going to feel like your typical porn awards show. I love France. I love the Hot d’Or show. I’m so glad to be here. Ooo La La!”

“I’m very grateful to win this award. For all the people that voted for me and to be recognized internationally as an actress out of the thousands of girls that are in the industry, that’s a big deal,” says Jane of her Best American Actress award.

“This is my first time out of the states. Coming to Paris is just great. It is breathtaking to have a ceremony here. Everything is so graceful, it’s unbelievable,” Kristina Rose says visibly excited. Nominated for Best American Starlet, the California actress didn’t hesitate for a second to cross the Atlantic to attend the Hot d’Or. “I came with Mr. Pete and Alexis Texas. We are all nominated and once we found out, we knew we absolutely had to come here. It’s like living in a dream. I would bet that this is the best ceremony in the business. Even better than the U.S., though I probably shouldn’t say that. There is something very classy here. It really is totally different than any award show in the states.”

When asked what she thought of the European girls Alexis Texas replies, “I’ve seen some with very big tits. I like the big boobies.” I guess after such a long transatlantic flight, we know where her mind was.

Kayden Kross, who later took home Best American Starlet, must have been on the same flight as Alexis. When asked about the differences between the U.S. and France she springs to life with, “there are so many gorgeous people in this country it’s not even fair! I’m eyeing a few really gorgeous performers that I’ve never met before. Like that blonde over there with the ponytail.” Kayden must have a good eye because it just so happens she’s talking about euro-hottie Tarra White, who picked up a few awards of her own including Best European Actress. “I named her my nymph. I love her. I’ll meet her later!” Kross says enthusiastically.

Jessica Drake seems genuinely shocked to be recognized so far away from home, “A lot of people seem to know who I am. It feels strange. I go to introduce myself to them and they stop me with ‘Oh My God, I know you!’ It’s very exciting that the Hot d’Or is back. I was already here for the last edition in Cannes and I’m really happy to be back! There is a glamorous side that comes with this unique event and the international recognition is absolutely incredible.”

The international craze also agrees with Dana DeArmond, who made the trip just to accompany her friend Bobbi Starr, who’s nominated for Best American Performer. For DeArmond, the Hot d’Or represent “a very important event, especially when considering returning to the United States. When people learn that we were in Europe for a ceremony, our popularity breaks through the roof!”

“Having a Hot d’Or is truly coveted,” says French actress Katsuni, who took home the award for Best French Actress and Best Actress Blog. “It’s so good to be recognized in your own country!” On the Best Blog award she continues, “I was not expecting it at all. Generally people like hard[core], but my blog is super soft so I didn’t think it would be successful.”

“For me the Hot d’Or Awards were before. All the stories I heard from others who told me about the ‘big time.’ Unfortunately, I didn’t have the opportunity to live it. So today I’m delighted it’s back. Vegas is Vegas, the city of excess. But Paris is the Parisian chic, it has lots of charm, the American dream. So it’s really nice to have this event here.”

But the final word rests with the enthusiastic Kristina Rose: “It’s so good to be here I think about saving as much as possible to come live here! Just this …”

Justin Timberlake’s Shriners Hospital Pro-Am Golf Tournament got underway this week in Las Vegas with a field of professional golfers, amateurs and celebrities all playing golf to raise money for the children’s hospital charity. Some famous names participating in the event include Davis Love III, Alice Cooper, Natalie Gulbis and Oscar De La Hoya who are all there to raise awareness for the Shriners Hospital. Justin can be seen sporting some J Lindeberg apparel along with Oscar De La Hoya.

2009 LAWLER SPORTS PRO-AM OPEN IRT EVENT

Terre Haute, IN – September 17-20th, 2009 – Lawler Sports will be hosting its first annual International Racquetball Tour (IRT) event at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN. The event will feature all of the world’s best racquetball players including #1 ranked Kane Waselenchuk who is coming off a dominant season where he lost one match all season going 49-1. Also looking to end Kane’s reign at the top is #2 Rocky Carson, #3 Jack Huczek, #4 Alvaro Beltran from Mexico who is the only player to beat Kane last season and #5 Jason Mannino.

Players from all over the country and other parts of the World (Japan, Mexico, and Canada) will be playing in this event as it is an International Racquetball Tour event. This will be the first time a Top Tier 1 event will be held in Indiana and I am very proud to host the Men of the International Racquetball Tour. “I have been a long time fan of Men’s Professional Racquetball and I am excited to bring it to the community of Terre Haute.” State event director Manny Rodriguez. The fans are in for a lot of action, fun and amazing racquetball. Trust me this is one event you will not want to miss.

Along with the entertainment value of pro racquetball we will benefit Autism by helping raise awareness and funds along with Autism Speaks in the Indiana area. Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability. Recent statistics show that one in 150 births result in a form of autism.

We will be hosting an amateur event for all skill levels, age levels, and doubles. Come enjoy the best racquetball you can find on the planet, play a lot of good racquetball, and make a whole realm of new friends while catching up with your old ones.

So Formula D came to Seattle this past weekend. It was so serious. Seriously sofa king fun!!!

I ended up being the Pro-Am judge with Andy Yen and Ernie Fixmer from Formula D. These guys know what they’re talking about when it comes to drifting and I learned a lot from them. Hopefully I’ll be able to take what I learned and help make the Evergreen Drift program even better.

For our Pro-Am we 14 drivers, 3 from Cali and 11 from around the way. Our guys killed it out there but Cali definately represented, taking first place with Cyrus in the Megan Racing S13. Victor in the KRP S14 came in second and Ian in his R32 skyline took third. All those guys now have the opportunity to go to Phoenix and try to earn their FD Pro licenses. Congrats guys.

A Walt Disney e a fabricante japonesa de eletroeletrônicos Panasonic estão se juntando para lançar filmes em cartão de memória SD, o mesmo tipo de cartão usado para câmeras digitais, filmadoras e laptops. Com isso, consumidores poderão assistir a filmes diretamente em celulares e até em sistemas de navegação para carro.

A novidade deve ampliar as vendas de filmes da Disney, que aposta na nova tecnologia para fortalecer seu mercado. Já a Panasonic acredita que assim vai conseguir transformar seu cartão de memória em um padrão para toda a indústria.

No acordo fechado entre os dois grupos e divulgados nesta quarta-feira (22/07), os primeiros filmes começam a chegar ao mercado japonês nesse formato já em setembro. O pacote trará um DVD e um cartão microSD da Panasonic, com cópia do filme. Assim como já acontece em vários DVDs, o cartão traz um recurso com proteção anti-cópia.

O preço do DVD com cartão será mais caro do que a versão apenas com DVD. Segundo a Disney, a vantagem é que ao oferecer também o cartão de memória, o consumidor tem a facilidade de assistir ao filme enquanto vai do trabalho para casa, por exemplo, da mesma maneira que fazem os consumidores de tocadores de MP3.

Isto abre possibilidades para produções mais baratas (não necessariamente significa perda de qualidade do roteiro) que requeiram baixo investimento. Por exemplo, estudantes de cinema e artes, ou amadores, poderão disponibilizar seus filmes de modo comercial, saindo da distribuição e limitação do YouTube. 'Yo Adrian!' - Balboa triumphs in her pro debut.

Seven years ago, Roxy Richardson could barely do a push-up.  Fighting was the last thing on her mind. But this past weekend, the reinvented Legends fighter Roxy “Balboa” realized a milestone that was long in the making, emerging victorious in her pro Muay Thai debut.  Based on scores of 49-46, 50-45, and 49-46, Richardson beat Sarah McCarthy (Bad Company, Leeds, UK) via unanimous decision at the 2009 Ultimate Warriors Muay Thai-Kickboxing World Championship, held at the Anaheim Convention Center.

“It feels great.  The nerves were there, but mentally, I was strong. . . It’s been a long road.  This’ll be my 13^th sanctioned fight, my 20^th or 21^st fight total, including smokers,” Richardson reflected later that night.

“To be honest with you, there wasn’t a round that I was concerned about at all. . . She didn’t get winded, she wasn’t breathing heavy in the corners. . . She just let her hands go. . . Other than that, I was very, very impressed with her and very, very proud of her,” said Legends MMA team trainer Jimmie Romero after the match.

Richardson, a staple in the regional Muay Thai scene, was the International Amateur Muay Thai Federation (IAMTF) champion from 2008 and 2009.

“I was terrified of fighting, when I first started.  Honestly, someone would ask me if I wanted to fight two months from now and I would get this horrible pain in the pit of my stomach, and just want to throw up.  And now I am excited and I look forward to it.  I think of it as a test of everything that I worked really hard for all the time.  it was never like that in the beginning.  I wasn’t a natural fighter, but I saw it as a challenge and it made me want to do better each time.”

Ironically enough, it was only recently that Richardson, whose connection with Legends MMA dates back to its days at the Bomb Squad, started working with Legends trainer Jimmie Romero.

“When she came to me, last fight, I think I had her, like five weeks out within her fight. . . I just worked with what she had, and tweeked a little here and there, until I could get her after,” commented Romero.

But once they were past that match, the team went back to basics: “we broke her down, and built her right back up. . . I changed everything, and made it make sense with her footwork.  I made it sync up to where every punch counts. . . Where it’s not just random shit being thrown. . . It flows, like water,” he added.

Of the partnership, Richardson was enthusiastic about going back to the drawing board: “this is the second time I’ve been working with [Romero], and we make a real good team.  I’m learning some new things.  It’s tough, because I’ve been fighting for awhile and he’s got to make adjustments for me, and that’s always been difficult.  But I’ve trusted him and he’s brought me in a good direction.  The results speak for themselves.  I’m pretty happy with that, and I’m happy with how this training went.”

The story of the match itself largely spoke to the changes and improvements in Richardson’s arsenal and team, as Richardson consistently circled out of McCarthy’s charging line-of-fire, countering with jabs, right straights, steady combinations , and body kicks.  McCarthy, who is known for controlling her matches by imposing her will, fought a chasing game, throwing low kicks to make contact.

“We used that jab to utilize space, because Roxy is a lot longer. . . And that’s why Roxy circled a lot, and she moved.  Sarah likes to press and close in you, and make you feel claustrophobic.  And the thing that stops that is ‘hey, you’ve got to follow me’.  . . And while she’s eating punches at the same time,” explained Romero.

The first round saw McCarthy utilize low kicks to breach the distance, while Richardson answered back with a body kick and a Superwoman punch.  Richardson looked comfortable with her hands, landing a lot of punches to the face, especially at round’s end.

In round two, McCarthy kept with the combos and low kicks, while Richardson circled out and brought the action to the middle of the ring.  Richardson fired a triple jab, checked a kick, and volleyed one back.  She swung a kick and tried some elbows in the corner, but it was an overhand right that nailed McCarthy square in the face.

By the third round, McCarthy’s charge-and-attack M.O. was clear and constant.  She pushed Richardson towards her corner, but Richardson clinched up and tried throwing elbows.  McCarthy got in some jabs and an overhand right, but Richardson was on fire, ending the round with a flurry of punches standing and from the clinch.

Perhaps sensing the need to turn on the steam, McCarthy quickly started round four in the middle of the ring, pushing Richardson into the corner.  But Richardson circled her way out, firing an overhand right and body kick.  McCarthy swiftly replied with her own attack.  Clinching against the ropes, McCarthy tried for a trip, but couldn’t make it happen before the referee called for a clean break.  Richardson landed another stiff combo to the face and attempted a spinning back elbow to end the round.

The fifth round opened with a brief clinch early on, but the two quickly broke apart, with McCarthy going after Richardson, who landed several kicks.  McCarthy overextended on a punch, but Richardson didn’t capitalize.  She did, however, land several body shots.  The referee stopped the action to check McCarthy for blood, but the doctor allowed the match to continue.  By this point, the once intensely-silent crowd was vocally cheering both fighters.  With ten seconds left, Richardson went into overdrive and shot jabs and combos to end the match.

In the end, judges awarded the match to Roxy “Balboa” Richardson by unanimous decision with scores of 49-46, 50-49, and 49-46.

When asked her thoughts on the fight, Richardson said “I always have it in my mind that if I give two good rounds, then at least [it’s] a good show, but I felt I was on from the very first round.  Which is unusual because I’m normally kind of a slow starter.  So I was really happy that I was able to throw multiple things.  And I felt like my timing was a lot better than I have been.  I could hear both corners, which was cool.  I actually would hear her corner, and then wait for her to do what her corner said . . .I’ve never been that clear before.”

Teammate Jordan Wright added “I really think she looked amazing . . . she was popping her jabs, rather than pushing. . .and her footwork was great too.”

Romero added “her next fight will be even better.  We gave her a whole new set of tools to work with.  And changed the arsenal up a little bit.  And now that she’s actually used it in battle, she’s now more confident, like ‘yeah, I can use these new tools, and they work damn well.’”
