And, after all, when you play a fast one-two, then scrap the ball into open distance for an on-rushing forward to slide home nervily, you’ll fall in passion with ‘Pro Evolution Soccer’ – not for its pragmatism, artworks, or excellent purgatives, but for its generosity toward your soccer-loving heart.

Around a dozen new titles are flooding the market on Friday, as the video game industry prepares itself for the Christmas shopping period.

With the big day only around five weeks away, many of the industry’s biggest hitters see this week as the perfect opportunity to release their flagship games.

Top of the pile is New Super Mario Bros Wii.

Nintendo’s first 2-D Mario game on a home console since 1992 is a safe bet to top the sales charts come Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, for the sport fans out there, the Wii versions of Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 and Formula 1 2009 are also available from today.

But if Nintendo isn’t your thing, or you’re looking for something with a little more action, don’t worry.

Xbox 360 owners can at last get their hands on Valve’s long awaited first-person-shooter, Left 4 Dead 2 – exclusive to Microsoft’s system.

Another much anticipated sequel, Assassin’s Creed 2 from Ubisoft Montreal, is also available to pick up from today, on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Also among today’s pile of releases on PS3 and 360 are Lego Indiana Jones 2, Dragon Age: Origins and Konami’s video game adaptation of the Saw movie franchise.

For those who prefer to do their gaming on the move however, today sees the unveiling of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky for Nintendo DS.

But which game will prevail as the Christmas number one?

A spokesperson for the high-street retailer, Game, said: “So far we’re selling more copies of Assassin’s Creed 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 than the new Mario game.

“We had a lot of pre-orders for Left 4 Dead 2 and expect it to sell a lot over the next couple of weeks.

“Although we’ve sold a decent number for Lego Indiana Jones, we currently sell it as part of a console bundle, so it’s hard to tell if people are only buying it because it’s part of an offer.”

Das kommende Castlevania Spiel passt sehr gut zum letzten Post (Dante`s Inferno). Sind doch beide Spiele im gleichen Genre angesiedelt. Der Trailer ist nicht mehr der allerneueste, ist für mich aber immer noch einer der besten Trailer der letzten Jahre im Gamesbereich. Beim ersten Mal schauen hat der mich so umgehauen, dass ich den gleich sofort noch ein zweites Mal geschaut habe. Alleine die Sprecher sind es schon Wert den Trailer zu schauen. Hier geben sich Patrick Stewart (Star Trek, X-Men), Robert Caryle (28 Weeks Later, Trainspotting) und Jason Isaacs (Der Patriot, Black Hawk Down) die Ehre. Die Sprecher packen einen so, dass man fast das Spiel vergisst. Zum Glück können die gezeigten Spielszenen paroli bieten. Das sieht alles sehr flüssig und gut aus. Auch die großen Endgegner wirken toll animiert. Ich denke das Castlevania – God of War gefährlicher werden kann als Dante`s Inferno. Ich bin wirklich voll davon überzeugt, dass die Castlevania-Reihe Back ist. Man merkt das Konami wieder zu 100% hinter seiner bekannten Marke steht und einen großen Aufwand betreibt, um die Qualität wieder dahinzubringen wo sie sein muss – nämlich oben (die 2D-Teile für Nintendo DS sind davon nicht betroffen, die sind super). Release Termin ist irgendwann im Jahr 2010.

Surprised myself with my performance today, i had a pretty solid defence conceding only 5 goals all day .

Best game was against Pure, after beating him in the group stage soundly, he picked himself back up and fought back to beat me in the quarters, you got a lot of heart!

I enjoyed watching the final, a great performance from Menace scoring some superb goals, and fully deserved winner 

Also was nice to meet the lads from scotland, definitely have to come to a glasgow tourney sometime

5 – Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution Soccer - É incrível como uma série que não evolui há uns 5 anos consegue ter defensores tão ferrenhos, o jogo foi superado pelo antes pavoroso FIFA, só que os fãs da série ainda conseguem desculpas pra chamar o jogo de melhor, e ainda ficam bravos por ter gente que acha o FIFA muito superior, vai entender…

4 – Street Fighter - A série de luta mais importante de todos os tempos, isso é inegável, mas existem jogos que o superam, mas não ouse dizer que King of Fighters ou Guilty Gear é melhor perto de um fã do jogo, você certamente levará um shoryuken na cara.

3 – Metal Gear Solid - Você gosta de uma boa história em um jogo? Você tem uma lista com 10 jogos com história melhor que a história da série MGS? Não diga isso perto de um fã de MGS, a não ser que você tenha o maior saco do mundo. Além dele querer provar que MGS tem a melhor história ele vai querer te convencer que Kojima é o melhor escritor de todos os tempos

2 – Final Fantasy VII - O melhor RPG de todos os tempos!! Você discorda? Eu também, mas não fale isso perto dos fãs de FF VII, você provavelmente será cuspido, chutado e vão xingar até sua mãe. Achar FF VII o melhor RPG de todos os tempos é plausível, mas achar outro jogo o melhor RPG o melhor de todos os tempos, no mundo dos fanboys do jogo, é loucura total.

1 – Zelda Ocarina of Time -Você quer receber uma carta com antrax? Simples, demonstre onde Zelda OoT falha ou que pouco tempo depois já tinha jogos muito mais evoluidos que ele, os fanboys não irão te perdoar. O jogo é espetacular, certamente um dos melhores jogos de sua época, mas certamente é o jogo mas “protegido” de todos os tempos, dizer que existe um jogo melhor é correr risco de vida :p

Pues por el momento sólo he tenido el placer de jugar el Modo de leyenda, que para los que no lo saben, es aquél en el cual ustedes manejan a su propio jugador que pueden editar desde el rostro, la vestimenta y los tachones (uso unos como los de Zidane) y además la posición en la que les gustaría jugar (yo soy medio ofensivo).

Nuestra odisea comienza en un equipo de segunda o hasta de tercera (los del cuau vs los valedores), hay varios equipos pendientes de ti y de lo que puedes hacer y al terminar ese partido vienen las ofertas, dependiendo de la liga que elijas, normalmente son equipos de media tabla para abajo (soy del Depor, es lo mejorcito que me ofrecieron). ¿Qué hacemos después de elegir la mejor opción para entrar a la primera división? pues lo que hacen todos, jugar partidos inter escuadras para que el técnico pueda ver nuestros avances y decidir si entramos o no al equipo titular.

Puedes elegir los puntos a reforzar, ya que cada partido, y dependiendo qué tal juegues, vas subiendo tus capacidades y los puntos reforzados crecen un extra más (puede ser fuerza, resistencia, velocidad, potencia, pases, tiros, etc.) para poder llegar a ser el arma perfecta que cualquier equipo desearía.

El modo de juego es sencillo, si no sabes donde ubicarte, el botón L1 (en el PS3) te acomoda en el lugar que debes de tener, el botón R2 te permite pedir los pases y pues los demás botones son los de siempre, tiro, pase, pase filtrado, pase elevado, correr, hacer fintas, etc. En el Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 sólo tienes control de tu jugador y no te debes de preocupar por nadie más, pero no es tan sencillo porque iniciamos con un control sobre el balón muy lento y eso te provoca entregar muchas veces el balón.

A parte de utilizar a tu jugador en el modo leyenda, también lo puedes utilizar para armar tu equipo y jugar en línea con este y con los de tus amigos, haciendo de ello una experiencia innolvidable. A parte que Konami por fin entendió que los login y contraseña (llámese Konami Id), son un asco y que la gente quiere llegar, prender su consola, poner el juego y jugar directamente en línea, así que para hacer esto ya es de lo más rápido y sencillo, un hurra por Konami.

Luego hablaré un poco más de Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, nada más que juegue las demás modalidades. Eso sí, los gráficos mejoraron demasiado, los jugadores cada vez se ven más reales, las texturas de la piel es de lo mejor que he visto para cualquier juego de fútbol, repito, de cuaquiera. Y también cabe destacar al Señor Martinolli que por fin le perdió el miedo a narrar los partidos virtuales ya que mejoró su participación haciendo la delicia de cualquier gamer con los comentarios ácidos que se hacen entre Luis García (que sigue excelente, no como el inútil de Pelaez) y él.

Si eres fan de esta serie, este es la mejor edición que he jugado y creo que debes de tenerlo.

PES 2010 is finally released today. Seen by many as the last chance for Konami to regain ground lost to main rival FIFA, PES 2010 is a huge release. If you saw my impression pieces last week you won’t be surprised by the review – PES 2010 offers the best on-pitch videogame football experience. But will it sway you from FIFA?

Forget the lack of official licences, restricted online options and occasionally incomprehensible menu – Pro Evolution Soccer has always delivered where it matters most, on the pitch. PES 2010 continues the trend and is simply a joy to play. The action is fast, instinctive and expressive. Aerial through balls are a particular delight but cushioned first-time passes and accurately weighted crosses are all a joy. Headers feel much more realistic now too, with the players responding realistically to your timed button presses.

For the first time players can use 360 degree control when moving players. Initial discomfort soon gives way to a greater feel on the pitch, with plenty of room to improvise as you create space for a cross or shot. The action feels slightly slower than 2009 but is still much faster than main competitor FIFA. A typical PES game is more akin to the recent 4-3 Manchester derby than the continentally paced FIFA.

While the pace of the game is often unrealistic the player models are not. All the big players look the part, particularly facially.

One of the biggest improvements over 2009 is the online play. Yes, it lacks the 10vs10 and player leagues of FIFA 2010 but it is not much easier to set up games, especially 2 vs 2 games with friends. Lag is much improved too.

Offline players will spend most of their time in the Master League mode. Like the rest of the game this has seen a much-needed presentation upgrade and will entertain those looking for a longer term challenge than the Champions League.

Away from the pitch the main improvements are cosmetic. The menu screens and music are finally bought into the 21st Century. The commentary is as appalling as ever although the responsive crowd noise – quiet when you score an away goal, cheering when you make a last ditch tackle – makes up for it. The new card system, that allows you to tweak player and team tactics, is less successful though, primarily because it is hard to notice any difference on the pitch.

Many PES players have moved over to the ever improving FIFA and there’s no doubt that the more realistically paced and fully featured FIFA 2010 is an excellent football package. But performance on the pitch is where it really matters and PES 2010 wins that battle.

Aquí con el jugador que mejor se os de teneis que conseguir muchos goles, asistencias, goles en competiciones europeas, etc para que den este galardón a uno de tus jugadores. NOTA: Si no os dan el trofeo nada mas acabar la temporada empezad otra y tras varios partidos os tendran que nombrar como mejor de la temporada en Europa. 10 temporadas Se consigue al haber disputado 10 temporadas en el modo Liga Master. Puedes simular los partidos para ir mas rapido. MJ de la Copa Internacional Se consigue al recibir en la Copa Internacional el galardón de mejor jugador del torneo en el modo Ser una Leyenda. Visitador de clubes Recibirás este título al jugar en más de 10 equipos y en más de 4 países en Ser una Leyenda. Aquí lo que podéis hacer es dejar aparte las preferencias y cada vez que llegue el mercado de invierno (en caso de que tengas ofertas) pues elegir un equipo de distinto país y volver a irte a otro cuando acabe la temporada. Asi que tendras que jugar varias temporadas para conseguir este trofeo. 0e victorias alto (En línea) Se consigue al alcanzar el 75% de victorias en los últimos 20 partidos de Red. Para conseguirlo con mayor facilidad puedes quedar con algún amigo y que se deje ganar muchos partidos. Clasificado para la fase final Se consigue al clasificarse para la fase final de la UEFA Champions League.

Para poder conseguirlo rápidamente puedes empezar una Liga Master con el Barcelona y a mitad temporada te ofrecerán jugar un partido intercontinental, si lo ganas obtendrás el trofeo. Temporada perfecta Se consigue al acabar la temporada invicto en Liga Master ganando liga, copa y UEFA Champions League. Aquí se refiere a que tienes que ganar las 3 competiciones sin perder ningún partido (NOTA: Tampoco se puede empatar ningún partido), para ello puedes bajar el nivel de dificultad y ganar todos los partidos o bien cogerte al Barcelona o cualquier equipo grande e ir simulando los partidos y si pierdes uno sales al menu y lo juegas. El más grande Mejor jugador de la temporada y Mejor de la temporada en Europa en Ser una Leyenda. Para conseguir este trofeo tienes que conseguir ambos galardones. Aconsejo hacerlo en un nivel de dificultad bajo para que destaqueis mucho en los partidos y os den buena puntuación, lo normal es que os lo acaben dando al cabo de unas 3 o 4 temporadas asi que sed pacientes. Campeón de Europa Recibirás este título al quedar campeón en la UEFA Champions League. Tan solo tienes que inicar el modo UEFA Champions League y ganarla.

PROS

• MUY mejorado con respecto a la demo (parecen dos juegos distintos)
• Gráficamente muy logrado, tanto en los aspectos de iluminación como en la representación de los jugadores
• Cánticos de la hinchada espectaculares
• Por fín una banda sonora que está a la altura
• Toda la parafernalia que rodea a la “Champions League” está perfectísimamente representada
• Fisica del balón impresionante
• Sistema de juego muy mejorado (se acabó coger el balón con un jugador en la banda y marcharse como un cohete) que obliga a jugar más en equipo y a trenzar jugadas
• Mejoras muy interesantes en la liga master
• Juego on-line muy fluido
• Recupera en parte la jugabilidad de los mejores PES…

CONTRAS

• …aunque aun quedan muchos aspectos que pulir
• Velocidad de juego bastante irreal
• Los movimientos de los jugadores siguen siendo muy extraños
• Los jugadores sufren un pequeño retardo en su respuesta al pad (MUY INFERIOR A LA DEMO) que puede resultar molesto
• La IA de nuestros jugadores es bastante pobre (les cuesta mucho desmarcarse correctamente)
• El menú de tácticas se ha empeorado completamente, siendo muy molesto realizar comparaciones entre jugadores,realizar alineaciones y tácticas
• El sistema de tarjetas-sliders es irreal y sobra en la filosofía PES (y en cualquier título que busque un mínimo de realismo)
• La dificultad (en nivel máximo) es un pelín baja
• La ausencia de licencias, problema endémico de todos los años
• Los comentaristas: LAMENTABLES

CONCLUSIÓN

Otro año más nos quedamos con la impresión de que Konami sabe hacerlo mucho mejor. Aun así, parece que esta vez la cosa va por buen camino, presentando una serie de mejoras en varios aspectos que lo hacen un buen juego de fútbol, aunque todavía muy distante de los PES de generaciones pasadas.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 es un título que satisfará a todos los seguidores de la saga, ya que es una vuelta a los orígenes de la legendaria serie. No es perfecto y necesita ser pulido para futuras versiones, pero es un buen comienzo y, sin lugar a dudas, es el mejor PES de la generación actual.

¿El rey ha vuelto? No, pero anuncia que puede volver en cualquier momento….
