WWE Champion CM Punk vs. John Cena

Mascara De Fuego: CM Punk. I know a lot think that this will be the moment to give Cena the title but I think not. My gut tells me that they might just wait until the Royal Rumble where he loses the title to The Rock… I wish I could see Punk take on Rock at WrestleMania instead but unfortunately I still see Cena vs. Rock II happening. This should be an interesting match in Boston, like a reverse from last years Money in the Bank scenario. They’ll find a way for Punk to screw Cena in his home town.

Great Puma: CM Punk. They just paired Punk with Paul Heyman and I don’t think they’d let the air out of their new tires so soon. Cena needs to lose in his hometown to give a huge rub to Punk. Punk needs to leave this pay per view the biggest and baddest heel in the business. Defeating and possibly screwing Cena in Boston will do the trick.

World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio

Great Puma: Sheamus. Yeah, I’m going smarky tonight and I’m very cynical towards the pro wrestling world these days. I don’t see how the WWE could put Alberto Del Rio over when they’ve been pushing Sheamus to the moon. Sheamus has been presented to us as being unbeatable and I don’t see how that will change with this pay per view. I’m afraid Dolph Zigger is going to have another failed Money in the Bank cash in attempt, because you know, Sheamus doesn’t lose.

Mascara De Fuego: Sheamus… then Dolph Ziggler. Seriously, its time to take the title off of Sheamus. This title run and contenders are ICE COLD. At least with Ziggler cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase then facing Orton in the future would give use good main event Smackdown matches.

Divas Champion Layla vs. Kaitlyn

Great Puma: Kaitlyn. Why not? They haven’t done anything with the beautiful Layla, so they might as well rush into the Kaitlyn-Eve Torres feud, which already has some history.

Mascara De Fuego: Layla wins with Eve’s out of nowhere assist. She’ll look on shocked.

WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & R Truth vs. Kane & Daniel Bryan

Mascara De Fuego: Kane & Bryan. The Tag Team Titles need Bryan and Kane more than they need the titles. These guys have done some funny shit yet shit that is compelling enough to actually be main eventing. It’s different, funny and yet done with two dudes that could do some good work. Putting the titles on them could hopefully give these god damn tag titles a little kick in the ass and maybe get this division alive again. I miss the good old days of tag team wrestling. Yeah you’ve been adding teams lately but having a couple of main event style teams to throw in the mix helps these younger dudes come up a little bit. Anyhow that’s a rant for another time. This should be a fun match.

Great Puma: Kane & Daniel Bryan. Even though they’ve done the odd couple tag team scenario before, Daniel Bryan and Kane manage to make this  work. I see Kane and DB imploding after the match but I think they’re still going to dominate the WWE’s tag team division until the new year. My main concern is seeing Kofi Kingston wasted in the midcard again without a title around his waist. The man deserves more.

Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. Sin Cara vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mystero

Mascara De Fuego: The Miz. This is another match that I hope would help the IC Title… but Sin Cara’s in the match. Rey, Miz and Cody should at least keep it together. If this spins off to a Cody vs. Miz feud then you can add the team of Rey & Sin Cara to this fantasy tag team division I keep dreaming about.  Hopefully its a good one.

Great Puma: Rey Mysterio. Rey has come back and quickly established himself as one of the top fan favorites in the company. Although it would be odd to have Miz lose the title so soon, I want to see Rey defend the title and have great matches month after month. I expect this match to be a darkhorse for Match of the Night.

United States Champion Antonio Cesaro vs. (winner of the preshow Battle Royal)

Great Puma: Antonio Cesaro. It has to be and I really don’t want to see another Cesaro vs. Santino match again. In my own fantasy booking world, I would have one of the NXT upstarts (Seth Rollins, Cassius Ohno, or Dean Ambrose) win and then defeat Antonio Cesaro to make a big impact in their debut. Yeah, I just went into full #mark mode.

Mascara De Fuego:  Cesaro. What are the chances Santino wins this battle royal and he ends up taking on Cesaro for the title only for the cobra to officially turn on him… high.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Randy Orton

Mascara De Fuego: Randy Orton. This is going to be the best match of the show. So far their matches have been good and I think this one here wont disappointing. Like I said earlier, Orton will win this one but Ziggler will go on to win the World Title thus moving this feud into the main event.

Great Puma: Dolph Ziggler. I think giving Ziggler a lot of momentum going into a possible cash in would be a smart thing to do. Making Ziggler look highly formidable prior to his cash in would be refreshing and effective in getting the audience to buy into Ziggler actually winning the World Heavyweight Title.

Tara turns on Tessmacher, Daniels & Kazarian have a lot of title matches they have to give out and Hardy keeps his Bound For Glory Title match after beating Bully Ray again.

-My apologies for being MIA on TNA the last couple of weeks, my DVR has been getting full with these 3 hour RAW’s. Well, there was a ppv last weekend and I didn’t  catch up on what was up so let’s see here…

New United States Champion Antonio Cesaro pins Santino via Cradle Styles Clash

Mascara de Fuego: Pre show was a lot of recaps to matches but it was good to see Cesaro get his first WWE Title.

Great Puma: Fun opener for the crowd. Cesaro looked strong and earned a convincing win.

1. Chris Jericho submits Dolph Ziggler via Walls of Jericho (this was Lion Tamer-WCW style with the right knee down)

Great Puma: I wish this went longer and that’s because this was a hell of a curtain jerker. Great match with a great finish!

Mascara de Fuego: Solid opener, I hope this feud goes on these guys did nice work here.

2. Daniel Bryan pins Kane via Small Package off of a Tombstone Piledriver counter

Mascara de Fuego: Daniel Bryan is so over. Good/entertainment match with Bryan playing off the crowd the entire time.

Great Puma: This was a solid match. Jericho and Ziggler is hard to follow but Bryan and Kane made each other look great. Clever finish. Big ups to the LA crowd.

3. Intercontinental Title Match

The Miz pins Rey Mysterio via Skull Crushing Finale

• Rey Rey is dressed as Batman. Cape, pointy nose and all.

Great Puma: Wow. This had a lot of sick near falls and counters. This is my favorite match of the pay per view so far.

Mascara de Fuego: God damn, another good match! Miz stepped up his shit tonight with Mysterio!

Back stage, Eve Torres and Teddy Long walk out of AJ’s office and Teddy compliments AJ. After Long and Eve walk away, CM Punk rolls his eyes and walks into AJ’s office. Punk whines and talks about respect to AJ. AJ zones out and Punk walks out.

World Heavyweight Championship

Sheamus pins Alberto Del Rio via Backbreaker on the knee (Del Rio did have his foot on the rope, which the ref didn’t see)

Mascara de Fuego: Decent match, better than I thought it was going to go but the fluke win means this continues. Kind of bad taste win, shame on you sir. Would have been a good time for Ziggler to cash in.

Great Puma: Okay match. More controversy, which pushes this feud, which has already overstayed its welcome.

WWE Tag Team Title Match

R-Truth & Kofi Kingston defeat Prime Time Players via R-Truth’s What’s Up/Little Jimmy on Young

Great Puma: Okay match. You’ve seen this before. Glad Kofi and Truth still have the titles.

Mascara de Fuego: Match was fine, more of a WWE Superstars youtube show style match. I hope they pick up pace on this tag team division.

WWE World Title Match

WWE Champion CM Punk retains against The Big Show and John Cena via pinning Show after Cena gave Big Show an AA

• Near the end of the match Punk had show in a submission, and then Cena piggybacked on Punk’s attempt with an STFU. Show tapped, the ref stalled, and then AJ came down and had the match restarted.

Mascara de Fuego: Yet another good match but for me it was all about Big Show in this one. He show and proved here. Nice sneaky ending to this one.

Great Puma: Glad Punk won but this wasn’t as great as it should have been. I always like seeing Cena walk to the back with a sad panda face.

Kevin Rudoph performs the Summerslam theme song, “Don’t Give Up,” to a very silent Staples Center.

Brock Lesnar submits Triple H via Kimura/Top Arm Lock

• Triple H dominates early.
• Brock decides that he’s had enough and takes off his MMA 4 ounce gloves.
• Brock gains momentum and dominates Triple H.
• Triple H rams Brock into the announcers table. The edge of the table bangs into Brock’s stomach. The announcers play up to Brock’s history with diverticulitis.

WWE Champion CM Punk vs. The Big Show vs. John Cena

Mascara De Fuego: Punk retains. I enjoy the fact that Punk has had a long title run and I hope it continues until the Royal Rumble. It gives his character more ammo that although he has been the longest champion in a while he still isn’t the focal point like he should be. I don’t think I can stomach another title run for Cena any time soon. Yeah, I know its been a while but it hasn’t been long enough. Cena doesn’t need to be the 435-time WWE Champion, that’s stupid. If you really want to change the title on this ppv give it to the Big Show, keep playing up that he is the monster he says he is and have him knock people the fuck out as champion. He did seem lack-luster next to Daniel Bryan in that tag team match on Monday though… I don’t know man, its bad enough I am not looking to this ppv at all, even worse when its in our backyard and we ain’t going.

Great Puma: Big Show wins by pinning Cena. I’m okay with not going unless Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins make some big debut for no reason. Punk or Big Show needs to win this to keep things fresh in the WWE. What good does it do if the polarizing number one guy in the company gets the belt? Is it good to have a bottom heavy WWE, where all we get is a carousel of the four top guys in the company taking turns in the main event slot every pay per view? If Cena wins, I hope he loses the title before the Royal Rumble. I really don’t want to see The Rock vs. John Cena again. I would like to see the Big Show get his due. He’s been a monster for the past six months and he deserves to hold the WWE title out of respect for at least a little while. I like the story of CM Punk beating The Rock when Cena couldn’t. Perhaps the Rock can defeat Show at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship, and then put CM Punk over at Wrestlemania and lose the WWE Championship in the process. That’s one way to give the rub and enhance Punk’s star power.

World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio

Great Puma: Alberto Del Rio. WWE loves to give short title reigns to spectacular heels that deserve so much more. ADR wins this and then immediately loses it to a cashing in Dolph Ziggler. Sheamus probably gets to save face by Brogue Kicking both of them when it’s all over. I’d like to see Chris Jericho then feud with Ziggler (when not touring with Fozzy) and gain the World Heavyweight Championship one more time.

Mascara De Fuego: Sheamus. Spoiler alert this match WILL happen at the ppv. Why have Booker cancel it then put it back on the show? Doesn’t matter, it didn’t work. This World Title needs a refresh and I hope that comes soon with Ziggler cashing in. I don’t think this feud is working for either guy which means they need to move on to something else. Maybe a champion Ziggler vs. Sheamus and Del Rio vs…. Randy Orton maybe? I don’t know but this Sheamus title run is boring me and its time to move on.

Triple H w/Shawn Michaels vs. Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heymen

Great Puma: Brock Lesnar. I’m going full mark on this one. I don’t want to see Triple H win this match. He doesn’t need it no matter how much he wants to paint himself as a bad ass. A Triple H win here will do absolutely nothing to improve the long term pay off for signing Brock Lesnar. The big picture is getting the ultimate payday and showdown between Brock versus Undertaker or the Rock at Wrestlemania. Great interest equals an incredible amount of pay per view buys. Nobody is going to care to see Brock get his ass whupped if he’s already jobbed to Triple H and John Cena in his first 6 months back with the company. I think the most optimum outcome is Brock pinning Triple H and injuring him in the process.

Mascara De Fuego: HHH. Brock has to be the highest paid jobber in the history of the WWE… how this feud or build has made ANY sense is beyond me. I don’t give a flying fuck about baby references or the pettiness of it. These two fuckers should be painted as two guys that just want to fuck each other up. Yet all we have been given is the McMahon clan getting in Brock and Heyman jabs, possibly for payback on some shit that doesn’t even matter from YEARS ago. The WWE loves to MAKE MONEY so why not try to make some off someone you paid so much?? Ok fine, you had him beat the shit out of John Cena before he lost, fine. But HHH? A dude who needs to start spending more time in the back than under the lights!? Come on, this guy doesn’t need any more rubs! Get over it dude in the history of the company you’re never going to be a Cena, Austin, Rock, Hogan, etc etc. You were always a better supporting player. That’s RIGHT, I said it! Did he have to beat CM Punk when Punk was white hot?? Fuck no he didn’t. I hope I am wrong but I don’t see how (with this build that) Brock Lesnar is going to come out the winner. It’s a shame because after this loss, what the fuck do you do with the guy if you are indeed trying to build him up to a high profile match at WrestleMania?? Maybe plans have changed and they are just rushing through his dates to get rid of him. It’s a fucking shame, fuck you WWE.

Chris Jericho vs. Dolph Ziggler w/Vicki Guerrero

Mascara De Fuego: Ziggler. I wish they could have had more time to build to this match as the last couple of weeks have definitely given this match more of a reason. Ziggler, the up and comer and Jericho, the guy trying to prove he still has it. I am hoping this one here steals the show for sure.

Great Puma: Chris Jericho. I think a loss would earn Ziggler a bigger shock if and when he cashes in his briefcase after the Sheamus-Del Rio match later on in the pay per view. It would leave an open ending to Ziggler’s feud with Jericho, and the idea of Jericho gunning for the World Heavyweight Championship is too good to pass up. This should be match of night.

Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

Great Puma: Kane wins this. I’m a Bryan mark and I think he’s going to go above and beyond to get this match over. I think his chemistry with Kane has been off the charts and I expect them to do a lot of interesting things in the match. Daniel Bryan will lose nothing with a loss here. Daniel Bryan is the best heel in the company right now and he’s still going to get major heat whether he loses or not.

Mascara De Fuego: Bryan. This match is cold to me (but not as bad as HHH vs. Brock) but I figure they definitely wanted to get Bryan on this card some how since he is the hottest heel in the company. Plus at least this should be a decent match, just don’t really see any rhyme or reason behind it unless you involve Charlie Sheen some how during the match. You figured they could have advertised it though. Bryan needs to be back on the title hunt.

WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. The Primetime Players

Mascara De Fuego: Primetime win the belts. My prediction only stands because Kofi and Truth aren’t a real tag team per say and the PTP’s are. I guess these dudes could use a break after losing their manager to all this shit talking AW was doing. Not a fan of Titus but I think Young could possibly grow into something. Maybe they can beef up the IC & US title divisions with Truth and Kofi?

Great Puma: Kofi and R-Truth retain here. I prefer Kofi and R-Truth in singles competition, but I really can’t stand the Prime Time Minstrels Players. I wish Primo and Epico were involved and I think they, along with the Usos, resemble a solid tag team. I would accept a PTP win only if Kofi and R-Truth are going to be pushed well in singles competition.

WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz © vs. Rey Mysterio

Great Puma: Rey Mysterio. I’m only picking Rey to make things interesting. Either Rey or Miz can bring importance back the IC title. A lot of classic matches surrounded the IC Title and I think Rey or Miz can give us quality matches in the future. This match and the Ziggler-Jericho match are going to be sleeper candidates for Match of the Night.

Mascara De Fuego: Miz retains. I think the WWE is being cautious with Rey after strike #2. They might start using him to get people over and not put too much into him. Similar to how Christian (or Brock Lesnar) is… a jobber to the stars. Ugh. I know Miz isn’t up and coming but if they want to push this IC Title run of his, Rey would be a good guy to help him get over. Sucks though, especially when Randy Orton will be a main eventer in no time yet he’s on strike #2 as well.

Pre-Show Match

WWE United States Champion Santino vs. Antonio Cesaro w/Aksana

Mascara De Fuego: Cesaro wins the title. Here is the issue… Santino is your champion yet he’s been the jobber to Cesaro and Del Rio in the past several weeks. If you aren’t going to protect Santino as the champion then you have to take this title off of him. No one is taking this title seriously (nor have they in a while) because you’re not utilizing it as best as you can. I think this would be a good change plus is plays into the “foreigner with the American title” bit.

Great Puma: Cesaro dominates here. I’m not sure if this is a non-title match or not but I hope Santino loses here. The United States Title would be a great showcase for Antonio Cesaro and can be a stepping-stone for greater things to come. As entertaining as Santino is, I think he’s overstayed his welcome with the United States title. Cesaro would certainly bring back prestige to that title.

The Bound for Glory series continues, a debut.. well sorta and the Ace’s & 8′s clear up some shit.

-Recap from the BFGS and the happenings at the ppv on Sunday. Sounds like it was good.

-Austin Aries is still TNA Champion, he’s out to start the show.

-he says fluke a lot and how he proved he wasn’t.

Samoa Joe vs. Magnus

-nice start with each guy standing one second ahead of each other.

-Daniels has all but his middle finger taped in black so when he hold up his hand it looks like he is flipping us off. Haha

Smackdown General Manager, Booker T, comes out to the ring sporting a fly, James Bond-worthy tuxedo. Booker does a Spinarooni and panders to his hometown crowd in Houston. He says that Sheamus crossed the line by stealing Alberto Del Rio’s car. Booker asks Sheamus to apologize to Alberto Del Rio.

Sheamus comes out and starts whining about Alberto Del Rio hurt his feelings and that’s why he stole ADR’s car. Sheamus apologizes to Booker, the WWE fans, and to Alberto Del Rio for the car jacking.

Alberto Del Rio comes out and starts insulting Sheamus. ADR threatens to file a report with the San Antonio Police Department. Booker T tells him to chill, and then Sheamus suggests that they have a World Title Match tonight. ADR says he’s down to do it tonight. We can dig it, sucka.

Cody comes down to the ramp and insults Sin Cara.

Sin Cara pins Cody Rhodes via roll up when Cody tried to take off Sin Cara’s mask

~ Okay match since Sin Cara didn’t botch any moves. There were a few sick counters by Cody and Sin Cara got his usual springboard-heavy offense in.

Daniel Bryan makes his way out to the ring. He says he’s more than a catch phrase and that he deserves to be in the WWE Championship match at Summerslam. Kane comes out and the house lights go red. Power suit AJ comes out. She compliments them then says that they can’t be attacking each other every week. She talks to both of them about how they’ve treated her and then asks them to shake each other’s hands. What? She tries to boss Daniel around he and Kane end up fighting. Daniel flees into the audience and Kane flames on and leaves to AJ’s delight.

~ So tired of the AJ love drama. I hope Summerslam is the end of it all and AJ isn’t involved with Daniel Bryan or Punk.

I think Daniel Bryan should just go Macho Man crazy. He’s already halfway there and I think that’s his best chance of being a top tier “superstar” in the WWE.

Hawkins and Ryder ask Booker T to hook them up with some opportunities. Booker says that they stunk it up with Ryback on Raw. Booker says he’s looking for A-Plus talent. They do some unfunny side conversation and Booker tells them to scram.

Jinder Mahal beats two local workers via Camal Clutch on one of them.

• After the match Jinder puts both of them in a DOUBLE Camel Clutch! Dope!
• Ryback comes out and Jinder heads up the ramp. Ryback took the two men and destroyed them with a Double Decker Running Samoan Drop.

Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel

Vickie Guerrero comes out to speak on Ziggler’s behalf. He insults her and then they have an “Excuse Me” battle. She threatens to walk off his show and he just clowns her. Chris Jericho hurls more insults to her and Dolph Ziggler. He says that Y2J is back, baybay! He rocks his “again” catch phrase and dodges a Ziggler briefcase attack from behind. Vickie distracts him and Dolph hits him with a Zig Zag. Dolph hits Jericho with the briefcase and stands tall with Vickie over a knocked out Jericho.

~ Good segment. This feud keeps me interested and entertained.

Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, and Lil Jimmy join the broadcast table.

The Primetime Players w/Abraham Washington defeat Primo and Epico via DQ when Kofi and Truth chased Washington into the ring

• After the match, Primo and Epico argue with Kofi and Truth about the DQ.

~ It’s almost as if the WWE isn’t sure on which tag team to give the ball to. Right now I don’t care for any of them. Give me a tag team that looks remotely like the tag teams in the 80′s. Make me care.

Christian pins Antonio Cesaro via Spear

• After the match Cesaro attacks Christian and rams his back into the black ring barrier.

~ Match of the night and I wish it went longer. Glad I got to see a Claudio/Cesaro European Uppercut or two. I’ve never seen Cesaro’s Fallaway Slam into a Bridge. Very dope!

I’m excited for this feud. You can’t really go wrong when both parties involved can wrestle. By the way, Aksana is thick.

Eve Torres asks Booker T if there are any positions available. Kaitlyn walks in with Teddy Long and she compliments Booker T. She asks Booker T needs an assistant in front of Eve. Booker T gives Kaitlyn the job in front of a livid Eve Torres. Booker sets up a match between Kaitlyn vs. Eve next week. I’m so there.

Non-Title Match

Rey Mysterio defeats Matt Dillon The Miz via forward roll from the wheelbarrow position

~ Good match. This is what you can expect from a solid worker in Miz and a legend like Rey. I think it may be time to try Miz as a face. I think he’s accomplished all he could as a heel and I think it’s time to see him on the other side of the fence.

World Champion Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio wrestle to a no-contest

• Before the match starts, ADR has some rent-a-cops attack Sheamus. Sheamus fights them off but ADR and his army eventually get the upperhand. The men hold Sheamus while ADR taunts him and slaps him around. ADR then blasts Sheamus’s face with his running Enziguiri. ADR tries to break Sheamus’s arm with the Cross Arm Breaker and the show ends with Alberto Del Rio standing tall.

~ What a great ending. Yeah, I know I’m not a fan of Sheamus but it’s been a while since Smackdown closed with Sheamus looking defeated and vulnerable. That makes for good television my friends.

It has been confirmed by Tom La Ruffa’s trainer, Lance Storm, that La Ruffa has been signed with The WWE. A look at La Ruffa’s Facebook page also helps to confirm things with the title “Tom La Ruffa WWE” now, and mention of the same on his Twitter. The Frenchman is built like someone out of the film 300, which is the exact type of guy Vince McMahon loves to sign. La Ruffa is apparently the sixth graduate of Lance Storm’s school to get a contract from WWE. Storm has trained Dolph Ziggler (not at SWA), and that’s enough of a pedigree in my book, not to mention the career of Lance Storm’s that speaks for itself. I’m interested in seeing how The E packages “The French Stallion. He’s been sent to FCW for the usually developmental grooming. Randy Orton- WWE.com

WWE fan favorite, Randy Orton has been out of the ring for quite some time now, but the Viper may soon strike once again.

According to F4WOnline.com, Orton is cleared to return to WWE  television as of today and changes are expected to be made at Smackdown events, which were initially implemented as a result of Orton’s suspension.

Due to lack of star power on the show, John Cena, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Triple H have made appearances on Smackdown at live events to improve the show.

Multiple sources have reported that Punk is  ”expected to resume his feud with Daniel Bryan at RAW house shows, and John Cena will no longer make dark appearances at the Smackdown tapings.”

What will Orton’s role Smackdown be once he returns?

Orton was suspended for 60 days due to his second violation of the company’s Talent Wellness Policy.

Alberto Del Rio becomes the number one contender in a red hot main event!!!

They start off with the new “WWE Then, Now, Forever” intro, and then segue way into the Smackdown intro.

The introduce the new Intercontinental Champion, Miz. Miz thanks Christian’s fans for voting for his match against Christian and RAW 1000.

Christian comes out in his new t-shirt. Christian says he wants to use his rematch clause now.

The Miz retains his IC title against Christian via rollup with a handful of tights

~ This was a good opener like we should always expect a Christian match to be. Christian’s Frog Splash on Miz’s knees was brutal. His backslide counter to Miz’s neckbreaker was also a thing of beauty. The counters and the near falls at the end were done to perfection. Miz held his own but Christian was the star as usual. I expect this feud to last longer, and I think Miz is going to benefit like Orton and others have done before when they were put into a program with Christian.

~ Good match despite the finish. Ryback’s spinebuster is pretty solid. I haven’t seen that move on WWE television in a while. Nice to see some ‘tougher’ competition face Ryback.

Sheamus annoys Daniel Bryan backstage. Daniel Bryan says he’s not done with AJ and that Rock isn’t going to be around for another six months. Sheamus gives him a book titled “How to last more than 18 seconds.” Har har.

Sheamus pins Cody Rhodes with a Brogue Kick

• At one point Cody was in control and Dolph Ziggler and Vicky Guerrero walk to the ring.
• At the end of the match Dolph teases to cash in but opts not to. Chris Jericho throws Ziggler into the ring to get Brogue Kicked. Jericho, wearing Ziggler’s t-shirt, comes into the ring and gives Ziggler a Codebreaker.

~ You’ve seen a Sheamus match before, right? Well this was just like the last one.

U.S. Championship Non-Title Match

Antonio Cesaro pins Santino via Cradle Styles Clash

~ Entertaining but that’s about it.

Damien Sandow pins Yoshi Tatsu via Criss Cross Neck Breaker

• After the match, Sandow says that he’s our martyr due to the DX incident.

~ Good squash match. Sandow showed an even more aggressive style than before. Despite the DX 1000 debacle, I think the WWE has a star in Sandow.

How great would it be if they allowed Sandow to get revenge on DX one by one? It doesn’t necessarily have to be with matches. Sandow can take some of the less-important members out backstage and they can save his victory and revenge on Triple H for a pay per view. This isn’t going to happen but it’s something I’d like to see.

Number One Contender Four-Way Match

Alberto Del Rio defeats Rey Mysterio, Kane, and Daniel Bryan by pinning Daniel Bryan after Rey Mysterio Splashed him from the top rope. Ricardo Rodriguez pulled Rey to the floor so Del Rio could sneak in the pinfall.

~ All this did was made me want to see Daniel Bryan vs. Rey Mysterio. I hope this happens at some point before Rey retires. Hell, I think Daniel Bryan vs. Alberto Del Rio would be just as amazing.

There were so many great moments in the match. Del Rio’s running dropkick to Rey Rey, who was hanging upside-down from Kane’s shoulders, was amazing. Kane stopping ADR from tapping out is something I’ve never seen before, and I will never get tired of seeing Rey do a 619 on two wrestlers at the same time.

Overall, this was one of the best Smackdown main events I’ve seen this year. I think a lot of it has to do with the absence of somebody. If you haven’t see this episode yet, skip everything and watch the main event now.

-Billy Gunn, Road Dog and X Pac are our in a military jeep! Big hug spot for all in the ring.

-Road Dog does his New Age Outlaws shtick into HHH asking us if we’re ready… and we get HHH jokes about hairlines before we’re told to SUCK ITTTT….

Rey Rey is back! Go Chargers!

Rey Mysterio comes out to a massive pop. Rey Rey starts talking about coming back but he’s interrupted by Alberto Del Rio. ADR starts talking shit but is also interrupted by Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler says he’s here for ADR since he cockblocked his Money in the Bank briefcase opportunity. ADR insults Vicky, things get heated, and then Rey tells them to put up or shut up. Ziggler suggests that he and ADR go at Rey Mysterio right now. Sheamus enters the ring and tells Rey that he’s so glad to see him. Sheamus name drops the Coronado Bridge for a cheap pop. ADR retreats, Sheamus clobbers Ziggler and then Ziggler barely escapes a 619 attempt.

~ Great segment. Glad they inserted Rey into the main event scene right off the bat. Awesome.

Prime Time Players & Hunico, Camacho defeated Kofi Kingston, and R-Truth & Primo and Epico via Darren Young’s Inverted Back Cracker on a diving Primo.

• After the match Big Show enters the ring and destroys everybody, including knocking out R-Truth and Primo.
• Show gets on the mic amongst the plunder and says, “and… what.”

~ This was getting really good from start to finish. I definitely want more. Hunico was met with some really nice arm drags from Epico at the start. At one point Primo looked like a lucha all star when he got a nice offensive sequence.

It’s sad that 5 of the WWE’s better workers are stuck in this match. If the tag team division was booked with respect I would say that was a good thing. By the way, I’m digging Hunico’s red Chucks.

Big Show’s knockouts are getting more realistic by the week. His knockout of Primo looked brutal.

Damien Sandow pins Zack Ryder via Straitjacket Neckbreaker

~ Really solid squash match. Sandow is like the lovechild of Lanny Poffo and Mr. Perfect with the pace and intensity of Chris Benoit. Brilliant.

Christian’s Peep Show with AJ and Daniel Bryan

Christian asks them about the wedding planning. AJ and Daniel both say that it’s going okay. They show a romantic comedy worthy montage of them doing a tasting menu and other wedding planning shit. Christian says that was special and then asks them both if they’re really doing the right thing and if this is true love. They both reply with the YES chant. Christian asks the San Diego crowd if AJ and Daniel should really get married and other semi-insulting questions and the majority of the crowd yells no. Christian then asks if AJ really knows what she’s doing and she slaps the shit out him. Christian tells Daniel that he’s facing Kane right now.

Kane defeats Daniel Bryan via DQ when AJ interferes

~ This was a perfect example of a small man vs. big man match done right.

Road Warrior Animal pins Heath Slater with a powerslam followed by a jumping elbow drop

~ I love this loser to the legends gimmick. I think they could keep this going until Wrestlemania at least.

Ricardo Rodriguez and Vicky Guerrero have a funny backstage encounter. Ricardo says that came here on a canoe and Vicky just responds by screaming into his face.

Rey Mysterio & Sheamus defeat Alberto Del Rio & Dolph Ziggler via DQ when Ricardo Rodriguez interferes

• After the match Alberto Del Rio locks Sheamus’s arm in a Cross Arm Breaker for half a minute or so. Ziggler teases cashing in his briefcase but Rey knocks him into the ropes and hits a 619. Sheamus ends the show with a Brogue Kick.

~ Fuck yeah! Rey was rocking Chargers-influenced gear in this one. Good match until the finish. Glad Rey got to shine a little in the main event.

I really hope they give Ziggler the World Title at Summerslam. The Smackdown main event scene would be interesting again.

Good show that set up the 1000th episode of Raw nicely. I can’t wait till Monday.

Well, it looks like the end is here for CM Punk’s long title run. Too god damn bad…

At least next week will be a big deal that will just make people sad that RAW will never be as consistently good than it can be next week.
