Develop a high-quality impressive portfolio that I am able to take to physical interviews, send to potential employers, and showcase online.

As I stated in a previous post, I have been working on branding myself for years as a designer and a professional, so I didn’t want to change too much in my identity system. Probably the hardest piece for me was the business card. It’s such a small space for real estate, yet can have profound impacts. The first impression of the business card can change everything: it can get you a job or get thrown out. Frankly, I’m still not 100% satisfied with my business card. I plan on continuing to develop and change it in the coming months and years. However, for the purpose of this project, I think it fits well. It matches the other branding materials in my identity system and tells the most pertinent information in which a person can contact me.

My resume and cover letter didn’t change drastically from the start of the semester until now. Because these items are what I used to apply (and get) a job, Professor Fender and I discussed not changing too much, just finessing small details. I worked on the hierarchy of my resume, making the titles of my work experience positions stand out.

I didn’t find the design statement very useful- I’m not sure that I will ever use it as a stand alone item. However, it is the basis for my cover letter, so it is practical in that way. I feel the writings I developed during the course of this semester are some of the strongest pieces in the identity system.

Overall, I feel my identity system is cohesive and professional. It showcases high-quality design and my skills as a designer. Below is a photo of the entire identity system together.

I was proud to have gotten my identity set up fairly early in the semester. I knew that I would need to get all of the things done (including portfolios) because I was hoping to start applying and interviewing after spring break… and thank goodness I didn’t wait because they all came in handy for some interviews.

Overall, I am very happy with this portion of the project. It is successful and has proven useful so far.

The most number of books that i have read based on the author is of Grisham’s.

These are my combs so far Im not sure about the RSVP site and I also was wondering if i should add a gallery site as well???:)

I wanted to keep something fairly simple throughout my whole system. I used sans serif to keep a more modern look and when using body copy I went with arial narrow.

I think overall I think it was pretty successful. Moving forward, with the time I have this summer I would like to work a little more on these pieces to get every single kink worked out. Now that I have finished my full identity system I would like to go back and revisit my resume.

Scene 1: Communist star appears followed quickly by rotating pattern
Scene 2: Rotating pattern circles around leaving a single man behind in the designated spaces in the pattern.
Scene 3-5: “Student” “Worker” “Business man” and “Middle class” attach themselves on this is repeated 145 Degrees to the left and right of the orignal cog.
Scene 5-6: All cogs slide in from bottom middle and right middle slotting into their designated spaces.Rotation continues, middle cog stays static. even with a cog slotting in.
Scene 7-8: Another Cog appears, repeat of Scene 1 from the start for corresponding future cogs.
Scene 9: While the now static big cog in the middle becomes larger with every second more and more rotation cogs are now locking into place and rotating. (Note: The further away from the middle cog the slower the rotation) (See formula in “Flash rotation Formula” post)
Scene 10-11: Cog continues to grow and become as large as the screen, covering all rotating cogs to this point. Music cuts out and Orange background ensues.

It was a little dull knitting this yarn again after having already worked with it. I still love the color, though. It washed up beautifully and blocked easily, so I would use this same line again. I do not know how it holds up over time or many washes, but shawls rarely need washing, so that does not concern me much.

The pattern can be worked in two ways. The first (red arrow) is symmetrical, worked from the bottom center point and ending at the long edge (that you would wear across your shoulders). The second (blue arrow) is asymmetrical, worked from one end point across and binding off one of the shorter “triangle” sides.

The asymmetry of the leaf pattern in construction B appealed to me, so I went with that, and I’m very satisfied with the results. Another reason this pattern appealed to me was that it lacked a traditional border, which most shawl patterns have. A border requires that you guess at how many main body pattern repeats to work before beginning the border. I wanted to make as large a shawl as possible, which meant using as much of the yarn I had available. I did have to rip back a couple of times in order to work as many rows as possible, but it was far less of a hassle than it would have been if the pattern included a border.

The leaf design is simple, but pretty, and was easily memorized, which meant I stopped using the pattern pretty quickly.

After one-hanging my warm up effort, I had multiple falls at my low crux.  Once those moves were dialed in, that knowledge seemed to take the place of the redpoint crux sequence.  By my last effort, I just didn’t have the stamina left to complete the upper section clean.

Good thing I love this project.  I’ll be seeing you again soon, Sigma.

Click event probleem
Een ander probleem die ik tegengekomen ben door te testen op iOS is dat mijn Backbone router niet wou werken, wanneer ik op een button klik die navigeert naar een andere pagina deed deze niets. Met de rechstreekse methode aan te roepen was dit al beter maar volgens mijn stagebegeleiders is dit een event probleem en stelden ze voor om energize.js te gebruiken hiervoor.
Volgende week zal ik dus eerst mijn fluid design afwerken en dan die energize.js testen en beginnen aan een overzicht pagina voor de tijdsregistraties.
