Kingdom Hearts é uma série de jogos de RPG desenvolvidos e publicados pela Square Enix (antiga Squaresoft). É resultado da colaboração entre Square e Disney Interactive Studios e está sob direção de Tetsuya Nomura, um antigo designer de personagens da Square. Kingdom Hearts é um crossover de várias criações da Disney dentro de um único universo criado especificamente para a série. Em adição, a série conta com um elenco de voz all-star que inclui vozes oficiais dos personagens da Disney. Personagens da série Final Fantasy, da Square Enix, também aparecem e interagem com o jogador e com os personagens da Disney. A série é centralizada no personagem principal Sora, sua procura pelos seus amigos e seus encontros com os personagens da Disney e de Final Fantasy, em seus respectivos mundos. (via wikipedia)

Electronic Arts was a powerhouse of great gaming during my formative gaming years. Classics such as Road Rash, Desert Strike, FIFA, the Mutant League series, PGA Tour Golf and James Pond to name a few, were always innovative and a delight to play.

But somehow over time EA became the ‘bad guy’ – the heartless corporation who were happy to churn out yearly updates of average games, often with little or no improvement.

Suddenly we had Burnout, Need For Speed, Harry Potter, SSX, the Def Jam fighting games and a host of annual sports updates. The difference being that these games (possibly excluding a few Burnout titles) were just not that great.

They started buying smaller, rival studios and created big rifts in the industry by often closing the studios down and taking their best talent.

And then all of a sudden things changed a few years ago – as well as the usual updates they announced two games which turned people’s impressions of EA on their head: Dead Space and Mirror’s Edge.

Two games which were highly polished, innovative, produced to an extremely high level… and were original ideas. Not a sequel or prequal – or even a film tie in. Just cleverly made great games.

Now I’m the first to admit that maybe Mirror’s Edge had it’s faults but that isn’t the issue here – what I’m talking about is EA’s willingness to take a shot at launching a new brand, based on something no-one had tried before.

Brutal Legend is another fine example – while the game appears to have tanked at retail, which is a shame, EA backed it all the way with marketing and promo. Not all of their new ideas come off so to speak.

The other shift was that the year updates, sporting especially, got good again. The Fight Night series was a serious return to form, culminating in Round 4’s superb simulation of the sport. Likewise FIFA – which has now overtaken long standing champion PES as the best football game around.

With Rock Band they are looking to take on Activision (the new ‘bad guys’ apparently) and Guitar Hero, a battle which will rage for years to come.

The standard of games forthcoming as well looks really positive with Army Of Two: 40th Day, Dante’s Inferno, Mass Effect 2 (not for us PS3 folks… yet ) and Battlefield Bad Company 2 (the Beta of which is truly stunning) all arriving in the first quarter of 2010!

When I think back to 5 or 6 years ago it seems insane that EA of all people would be pushing the envelope and delivering top quality, fresh and innovative titles – long may it continue!

sim, aconteceu o que todo mundo esperava: a sony trouxe a marca PlayStation para o Brasil. tá certo, foi com mais de uma década de atraso e com uns preços pra lá de esquisitos, mas vamos lá aconteceu, e isso merece sim, uma comemoração, tímida mas uma comemoração! manual em português, suporte oficial… isso são coisas que não fazem muita diferença para os aficionados, mas para 98% do público, isso importa sim. imagina quantas pessoas nunca ouviram falar do PlayStation porque ele nunca foi divulgado em um comercial no Jornal Nacional ou nunca teve um quiosque de venda no Carrefour.  e com a marca oficialmente aqui, isso pode acontecer.

o PS2 é o líder incontestável do mercado nacional de vídeogames – fala-se em uma demanda de 1 milhão de consoles por ano -, então é compreensível que a Sony tenha escolhido ele para entrar no mercado. segundo comunicado da empresa, no entanto, este movimento “marca o início de uma operação de duas fases para implantação dos produtos e serviços da categoria aos consumidores em todo o País”. o que dá indícios de que o PS3 e o PSP chegarão em breve. a pergunta é, se a primeira fase demorou 15 anos para ser iniciada, quanto vai demorar para colocar em prática a segunda?

pelo que senti do Ron Tsutsui em setembro, não muito. e ele ganhou a minha confiança, prometeu que o produto estaria oficialmente no Brasil até o Natal e cumpriu. no Gamasutra vi uma notícia interessante também. a Sony quer vender 13 milhões de PS3 até março de 2010 e talvez chegar ao lucro em 2011. agora, vai me dizer que o Brasil não é importante nessa trajetória? fora que ter o console de última geração aqui é importante na divulgação do formato Blu-Ray, na qual as empresas estão apostando alto.

aí vem aquelas coisas engraçadas do Brasil. o PS3 é tido como o player de Blu-Ray mais barato do mercado (US$ 299). a Sony começou a fabricar um player no país e está vendendo o equipamento a R$ 999. quando o PS3 chegar, é de se imaginar que ele não custe menos de R$ 1,8 mil. “Ou seje”, praticamente o dobro do player mais barato. êh Brasil!

Sony lançou essa semana OFICIALMENTE o Playstation 2 no Brasil, isso mesmo com um atraso “básico” de 9 (NOVE) anos, será porque nosso mercado de PS2 é 99% pirata?! Imaginem, q ofensa dizer isso.

Yes, you read that right, Kotaku are reporting that Sony’s nine year old Playstation 2 console has been released in Brazil today.  It’s retailing for R$799 which is the equivalent of $465 (£280 / €312), which I recall isn’t too much different from what it cost upon release in 2000 in Japan, North America and particularly Europe.

It’s incredible that Brazil are so far behind in terms of video games, and it’s ridiculous that Sony are selling a near decade old console for almost three times what its retail value is in other parts of the world.  Apparently piracy is quite a major problem in South America at the moment and this is quite obviously one of the reasons why.  It costs the equivalent of $115 to buy PS3 games over there on another note despite the fact it’ll likely be at least another five years before the console is even released, so chances are PS2 games aren’t much cheaper.  I bet there isn’t much of a library available yet either.

Kotaku is stating that one of their sister sites, Gizmodo (Brazil branch), reported that the PlayStation 2 has officially launched in Brazil. Wait, what? PlayStation 3 right? You read it right the first time, that’s PlayStation effing TWO. Wait, but didn’t Sony’s PS2 launch in the U.S. way back in 2000? Yes. But Brazil is getting it now – officially.

It’s a start I suppose. I mean, before yesterday, the PS2 only existed on the black market. I hope this isn’t an indication that the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro are going to lagging 10 years in tech. Then again, at this rate, by 2016, they should be more or less getting the PlayStation 3 officially right? What’s 10 years? What about Internet connections? Are they still living in bubbles pre-YouTube and Facebook?

We’re all planning our plan for Black Friday already: Camping out in front of stores, portable consoles, great deals. I’m sure most people would think of camping Best Buy or some other retailer for games or electronics. However, consider your local Marine Corps Exchange. Notable deals include PS2 games for under 5 dollars, 99 cent Xbox 360 and PS3 games, and even an Xbox 360 arcade with 7 games included.

I’m sure this may not pull you away from Best Buy for your half off HD-TV, but maybe you also want to try to head over to a Marine Corps Exchange. Check for an MCX flyer to verify your deals.

Oh Snap!

Mi a francért írok erről? Azon kívül, hogy már kéne egy game postot (JRPG-s írást ne várjátok egy jó hosszú ideig) is kell írnom, nem tudom, de miért ne. Meg amúgy is kell egy kis változatosság!

Mielőtt kezdem, előbb be kell vallanom valamit:(de, ha már olvastátok azt a sz*r postot, amit ki kéne törölnöm, már tudjátok): nem vagyok RE fan. Játszottam a „havernál” a második és harmadik résszel egy kicsit, nem tudott érdekelni, az Outbreak 2-öt meg öt perc után félre tettem a lemezét, és azóta elő se vettem. Lesz*rom, hogy ez a sorozat tette a túlélő-horror műfaját (ami az első Alone In The Dark alkotta meg), nekem nem vonzóak. Jó start mi?

Ez a rész, azért fontos a franchise történetében, mert elégé meglepő változást hozott. A végeredmény elég megosztó lett. Ja meg az elején Gamecube exkluzív volt, de aztán még se, mint a Viewtiful Joe.

A sztori leírását, most jobb, ha kihagyom. Nem túl érdekes egyébként.

A gameplay olyan…. fura. Leginkább azért, mert mintha egyszerre akar lenni egy TPS is, meg nem is. Tank mozgás marad, a ravasszal célzol, a négyzettel (GC-n meg PC-n, nem tudom mi) lősz. Nekem olyan zavaró az egész. Persze cuccokat is szedsz fel, de ugye limitált az inventory (amit upgradelhetsz), szóval kicsit stratégiázni is kell. És persze van pár fejtörő is. Ja meg a túlélő horror játékok szokatlan módon fegyvervásárlás is.(ami egyébként nem is rossz).

Mivel a küldetésünk, Ashley megmentése (aki nagyon idegesítő, hogy őszinte legyek), így kénytelen vagyok néhány pályán őrizni őt, mert, ha elrabolják az ellenfelek, már az is Game Overhez vezet. Szerencsére, ezek a részek nem annyira idegesítőek, mint sok játékokban ilyen escort missionok.

Mi van még? Vannak QTE, sőt még az átvezetőkben is (mint a Shemmue-ban, ahonnan ez jött), meg érdekes boss fightok.

De félelmetes-e? Nagyon nem! De szerintem nem a gameplay az oka, mint sokan mondják (ha, csak nem rosszul halottam). Egyszerűen a környezet és az ellenfelek nagyon átlagosak, és ez a bajom ezzel a sorozattal. OK, néhány szörny gusztustalanul néz ki, de csak ennyi. Na, jó ott a fűrészesek, akik a leg idegesítő ellenfelek a játékban, mert azért gyorsan meg tudnak ölni. Hogy francba volt ez a franchise régebben ijesztőbb? Bocsi RE fanok!(mondjuk, engemet nehezen lehet megijeszteni)

A szavatosság egész jó. Sok féle kosztümöt és játékmódot szerezhetünk be és a főjáték viszonylag hosszú. Ebben egész tisztességes munkát végzet.

Tálalás: a grafika egész jó a PS2-es képest (mondjuk a GC-s verzióhoz képest rondább egy kicsit), bár csöppet túl barnásra sikerült (no, csak ez még a Gears Of War előtt volt!). A zene felejtős, ha szinkron elmegy, de számítsatok néhány LOL kategóriás szövegre.(de ez a sorozat erről is híres volt)

Szóval itt van egy játék, ami nem tudja, hogy TPS akar lenni, vagy túélőhorror. És valahogy sikeres lett és átörökölte az ötödik rész is, ami szinte totál ugyanaz nulla javítással, csak plusz co-oppal, meg letölthető kiegészítő küldetésekkel. LAME!!!!! Bocs, de nem vagyok képes látni, hogy miért lenne ez a sorozat népszerű. Persze most kapni fogom a flamet, de én minidig is egy ilyen alak voltam!:) Meg kell néha eltérő vélemény is!:)

Egyébként is: van valami különbség a zombi és a nem-zombi között? Itt nem úgy tűnt.

Ja a PC-s port elég gyenge, de azért mert nem a Capcom portolta. (a DMC4 és ez SF4-nek egész jó portjuk volt)

Őszintén szólva ezt most nincs kedvem pontozni.
