Queen Pen teams up with celebrity photographer Greg Frederick to release 2010 calendar.

Greg Frederick explains “It is not a calendar just of images of Queen Pen, but pieces of art created from images I shot with her over the year! Each month includes a Queen Pen quote to get your thoughts going throughout each month! Along with important Queen Pen dates within the calendar”.  Also with the calender Greg Frederick has designed an exclusive Queen Pen shirt available for purchase with the calender or separate on his website.

Dr Dre’s rhyme partner on Black Street’s classic “No Diggity” will be releasing a 2010 calendar with celebrity photographer Greg Frederick.

The calendar is said to encompass all that Queen Pen embodies today, creating a vision of her roles as a mother, role model, artist, advocate and author, through portrait.

Frederick spoke of the calendar stating,

Away from the music business for a minute, Queen Pen has been working for the last few years with at risk teens and speaking in juvenile prisons, group homes, inner city schools, and facilities for young mothers.

She is also an accomplished author with two books, “Situations” and “Blossom” selling over 70,000 copies collectively with a third book on the way. She is currently adding dates for her bookstore tour, where she is reading passages out of her new book and discussing past work with fans and supporters.

In 2008, she united with The Coalition of Family Justice to open Silent Cries, an organization to help battered women and children overcome domestic violence.

Queen Pen also plans a comeback to the mic next year and is in the lab with her longtime producer Teddy Riley.  Besides recording the remix to “Brooklyn” by MC Lyte and being featured in the video, Queen Pen also manages her son Nefu Da Don and Reggae artist Suave Luciano.

Yesterday was the “It’s Time To Bury The Beef” Rally in Harlem at the National Action Network. The special guest was non other than T.I., who came through to give his thoughts and tell the community that violence is senseless and there is no need for it. Other guests who spoke were Reverand Al Sharpton, Kevin Lyles, Queen Pen, and people of the community and organizations. After the everyone spoke, we all gathered outside to walk up the block to the block where a young man had died last week. I can honestly say that hearing T.I. speak to the Harlem community really shows that he is sincere about being regretful about his actions which has him about to do a year and a day in jail. Let’s hope that the youth of today understands this and choose the right path. (thnx to Sincere for putting me on to this)

OK this is my opinion, female rappers just aren’t nice. There are very few females that i consider to be spitters, let alone nice spitters at that. There are a few exceptions.

Now this is a bold statement and i may get slammed for it but fuck it… Nicki Minaj is the nicest female out…. and probably ever, pending the test of time….

Now of course in the category of female goat, you have two main contenders that ppl say… Kim and MC Lite…
Now before we get to these two, lets look at some notable mentions…

Remy Ma’ came into the game swingin on ante up remix, and proved that she can hold her own next to any male. Through time though i honestly grew tired of listening to her. Her attempts to commercialize her sound really turned me off sonically i guess. Remy is a great aggresive spitter and brings a female prospective, without it being too feminine. Not to say she fell off, occasionally when i would open my ears, remy was going in… EX.. “when i see her.”


Shawna… Ms getting some head is as nice as they come, male or female. Shwana, rapping alongside Luda, one of the most respected mc’s in the game, has rose to become one of the brightest stars on the then, dtp roster, and on the heels of luda himself for nicest in the camp… but Luda wins.


Foxy Brown… OK there is really no need to debate this one. Foxy goes in. She can hold her own alongside veteren spitters like jay. She makes great albums, and i am a personal fan, and waiting for her next release… Despite legal and personal issues in her personal life, Brown’s last Unofficial offering was on point. If anyone has the right to challenge kim for that slot its brown… If we leave commercial success out of this one, Which kim has everyone beat in, then i would probably lean slightly towards brown.


Mc lite…. sorry but your just too before my time for me to consider you, no disrespect..

Queen Bee reigns supreme and has for some time now. No one can dispute that Lil kim has changed, Hip hop. She has brought it to new levels, exposed it to new audiences, rapped alongside veterens in the game, and made her mark. LIL kim is the greatest female Rapper of all time in my opinion…. But time to pass the torch

March 20, 2009. MediaTakeOut.com just received a disturbing report. Apparently on Wednesday night a “fight” broke out at a New York club between rapper Queen Penn and Rocsi from 106&Park.

Actually, it wasn’t really a fight. MediaTakeOut.com learned that Queen Penn threw a drink in Rocsi’s face. And in the process hit her in the head with the glass.

According to MediaTakeOut.com’s insider, Rocsi was there with many senior execs over at BET – so she didn’t retaliate. But she was injured. The insider claims that if you looked close at her on yesterday’s 106&Park – you could see the abrasion caused by the glass.

So we know what you’re wondering – why did Queen Penn do what she did???? Well no one knows for sure, But MediaTakeOut.com put their ear to the streets. And the streets are saying that Queen Penn is friends with LisaRaye and she’s upset with Rocsi’s friendship with LisaRaye’s ex-husband ….

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services has issued a report that lists 58% of female homicide victims in 2007 were at the hands of domestic violence.

 Queen Pen speak as a voice for advocacy and as a woman who has triumphed over abuse. She will share her story publicly for the first time and give hope to other victims with the support of city leaders, including New York Senator Eric Adams.

The press conference will take place on Friday, January 16 at 4pm at Denim Lounge in Brooklyn, NY.

Attending supporters include New York Senator Eric Adams, Assembly Member Hakeem Jeffries, City Councilwoman Latisha James, Former New York Knicks Player & Activist John Starks, Pershia from The White Rapper show, Nefu Da Don and Hip Hop Performer Lil Mama.
