Director and writer Richard Curtis(“Notting Hill” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral”) brings to life the story of outlaw DJs who defied the British government for all that is worthy: drugs, sex and rock ‘n roll.

The government banished modern pop and rock ‘n roll from the mainland radio stations. Rock DJs took to the high seas to broadcast from ships docked in the North Sea. The film follows the fate of one pirate radio station called Radio Rock. They would play the most popular artists of the day: The Beatles, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones and The Yardbirds.

The story begins with Carl(Tom Sturridge) arriving on the Radio Rock ship because he had been expelled from his school for smoking cigarettes and marijuana. He claims his mother sent him there to try a different way of life with his Uncle Quentin(Bill Nighy). He meets a ragtag crew who DJs twenty-four hours a day from the ship, including the ship’s cook, Felicity(Katherine Parkinson), who plays a lesbian. Carl bunks with a man called Kevin, who is nicknamed Thick Kevin(Tom Brooke) because he doesn’t process information that quickly (Kevin wore an Easter bunny costume to Christmas dinner). This is a coming of age story for Carl who learns about rock ‘n roll and loses his virginity(while it was being broadcast live).

The station becomes threatened when the prudes at the BBC ban advertising on pirate radio stations become illegal. In response a legendary, sexy and feisty DJ named Gavin(Rhys Ifans) returns from the United States to draw in millions to listen to Radio Rock (It’s appropriate “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” by the Rolling Stones is used to introduce Gavin).

Eventually, the government deems it illegal for any ship to broadcast rock ‘n roll. Of course, Radio Rock defies the orders and continues to rock out. They try to make a getaway when the prime minister’s minion goes after them, but their engine blows up. The ship begins to sink into the North Sea.

The arrangement of cast members and intertwining of comedic episodes made this film very enduring. January Jones plays Elenore, a woman who pretends to love another DJ(Chris O’Dowd) so she can sleep with Gavin. And, another DJ named Midnight Mark claims his secret with the ladies is silence and one-liner “So, shall we get to it?”

The soundtrack which features major rock ‘n roll hits help the film’s appeal where it lacks fluidity.

I really enjoyed “Pirate Radio” and have seen it twice. Overall though, “Pirate Radio” has  some truthful kernels about pirate radio off the coast of Great Britain, but in reality most of it is fictional.

Quentin era mi pez,un pequeño pez payaso,que murió en extrañas circustancias hace unos 6 meses,después de haber compartido con el otros 6 meses de mi vida.

Casi nadie lo tuvo en cuenta,en mi casa parartes de animales no se lleva el luto,pero yo como ser humano y como dueño de mi pez,me senti mal y no pare hasta descubrir las causas de su desaparición.

Como buen Sherlock Holmes que soy,calibre primero todas las posibilidades,que fueron las siguientes:

1-Mi Quentin murió de viejo.
2-Mi Quentin murió por falta de sueño(no me creo que los peces no duerman).
3-Mi Quentin murio por que se le hincho el estomago y le exploto,lo cual explicaria los restos de comida encontrados en la pecera.
4-Mi Quentin murió por estress,convivía con el pajaro y tenía que competir por el amor de la familia con él(el pajaro murió hace dos semanas,aunque eso no me interesa).
5-Mi quentin murió de estress pero esta vez por el agobio que le debía provocar que yo me pusiera a hacerle caritas.
6-Mi Quentin fué asesinado.

Una vez investigadas todas y manteniendo el cuerpo a buen recaudo de posibles “borra-pruebas”,me dispuse a realizar los interrogatorios a los sospechosos posibles cuyas respuestas mas destacas y elocuentes fueron estas.

Mi madre:”¿quieres ponerte las zapatillas de una vez que me estas pisando todo el suelo con los pies,y ponerte a estudiar y dejar de hacer el bobo?,¡que parece mentira que tengas 22 años!”

Mi padre:”Grrrrrrrr….¿y pa´ eso me levantas de la siesta?…vete a la mierda…grrrr”.

Mi hermano:”¿teniamos un pez?”

Como veís todas las respuestas fueron evasivas y poco concluyentes,en vista de que nadie estaba dispuesto a colaborar fuí descartando posibilidades por pura lógica.

La del stress provocado por el pajaro,descartada,había malas caras entre ellos,pero de ahí al suicidio,no creo.

La del stress provocado por mi,tambien,yo era el único que le daba de comer,era un pequeño sufrimiento que era compensado con creces.

La del sueño,mientras escribía compruebo en wikipedia que si,es cierto que no duermen.

De viejo imposible,solo tenía 6 meses y su agua era cambiada regularmente.

Con lo cual nos quedamos con dos posibilidades,o murio por “explotamiento de buche” o asesinado.

Mi mente detectivesca y agil me llevo a pensar que quiza no fueran tan descabelladas,es más podrían estar intimamente unidas.

Podría ser una,o la otra,o las dos,quien sabe,el asesino pudo hincharle a comer para que acabara con un colico que le llevara a la muerte,¿quién podría sospechar?,solo es un pez,no tiene amigos,ni familia,ni siquiera habla.

Llegados a esta conclusión,vino el momento de plantearse a los posibles sospechosos.

El pajaro:imposible,no sale de la jaula,y con las uñas no puede coger un bote de comida para peces.

Mi hermano:ni siquiera sabía de la existencia de Quentin.

Mi madre:es demasiado sentimental,lloró cuando llevamos el coche antiguo al desguace,descartada.

Queda mi padre,ese hombre tranquilo,que nunca grita ni dice nada fuera de tono,que mimaba al pajaro siempre con esmero,cuidando su jaula,siempre atento a que no le faltara de nada,ni agua,ni comida.
¿Pudo ser él,en un ataque de celos,al ver como el encantador Quentin,que ademas vivía en la cocina a diferencia del pajaro que pernoctaba en la terraza,capaz de asesinar al pequeño,para que su protegido volviera a ser el rey de la casa?

Una vez llegados a este punto,decidí que algunos de los maestros a la hora de resolver casos me ayudaran,me hice un maratón,con las que representan para mi sin duda algunas de las mejores historias a la hora de adivinar casos,”Asesinato en el orient express”,”Se ha escrito un crimen” y “Una rubia muy legal”.

Avido de conseguir conocimiento,las devore,busque puntos flacos,estrategias,pero ninguna a pesar de ser obras maestras consiguieron ayudarme.

No podia acusar a mi padre sin pruebas,pero tampoco podía dejar la muerte de Quentin impune¡¡¡

Así que me eche a la calle y pensé,en todas las posibilidades,repase todo,hasta que volví a casa y cansado de tanto pensar me acosté.

Soñé con conspiraciones del gobierno porque Quentin tenía información fraudulenta sobre Marbella,con una venganza por el robo de unas perlas o un “caballo de mar-padre” queriendo defender el honor de su “caballo de mar-hija”,vi que todo esto no llegaba a ninguna parte y que además,ya me habia entretenido bastante con todo este rollo para no estudiar.

El puto pez se murió porque si,porque le salió y punto pelota,y ademas voy a tirarlo por el retrete que empieza a oler,que van a pensar que tengo Auswitch en mi habitación.

Ka mina vaatasin ära igatepidi kiidetud 152 minutise Quentin Tarantino viimase filmi – “The Inglourious Basterds”-i.

Esimese hooga haaras mind mu lemmik filmitegijale omane stiilne, lausa stiliseeritud algus. Kiidusõnad Christoph Waltzile, kes teenis saja kordselt oma Cannes’i auhinna ära.

Ma olin nii vaimustuses, et kui seda algust poleks näinud, oleks ma kindlasti lõpetanud filmi vaatamise nähes  Brad Pitti ja tobedat story-line’i.

Jõuamegi Brad Pittini – ta mängib päris hästi välja oma rolli vaatamata selle sisulisele idiootsusele ning filmi lõpu poole saab lausa naerda kaasa tema tobedale aksendile ja maneeridele.

Ka muud sisulised vead ja rumalused annan ma vabalt andeks nii nagu andsin andeks need ka teistes Q.T. filmides nagu Kill Bill ja Pulp Fiction (mu lemmik), kuid üht asja ei arva, et Q.T-l oli ikkagi õigus teha. Ilma igasuguse õigustuseta rääkis ta ära loo, milles tapeti ära kõik natsi pealikud korraga lihtsalt nende endi  ebakompetentsuse tõttu. Selline maailmaajaloo tõlgendus pole mitte lihtsalt vale, vaid mõjub ka noortele valesti, mind ennastki pani see korduvalt googeldama, et mis siis nende kõikide tähtsatega seal päriselt juhtus. See film on ka natuke süüdi selles, et kordagi ei mainita Venemaa osalust sõjas, justkui juudid ja Brad Pitt võitsid sõja, sest natsi “jew hunter”-il tekkis naiivne soov sõda lõpetada. Alati tahetakse muidugi kujutada Hitlerit ja ta alamaid kurjade, õelate ja rumalatena, kuid see oli juba liig. Filmi kõige hullem moment oligi kino tulistamine, kus peale teiste lasti maha Hermann Göring (reaalsuses ta mõisteti süüdi pärast sõda oma kuritegude eest ning pooti) ja ka Goebbels ja kas ei tundu kahtlane, et kõik tegelased tulid korraga kokku? Ega ilmaasjata ei tohi korraga välivisiidil olla korraga nii peaminister kui ka president – samal põhjusel…

Niiet kui mitte taotleda ajaloolist täpsust, pigem isegi vastupidi mingit vintaaž/retro stiilis actionmäruli maiguga, isegi pigem Rambomaiguga partisanifilmi, siis on mission accomplished. Ülejäänd juhtudel suhtuks mina sellesse kui rumalasse Hollywoodi mustahuumori komöödiasse, mis paneb sind naerma või vähemalt turtsatama suhteliselt mitte naljakate asjade peale.

Honorable Mention Look Who’s Talking Too

This movie reminded us all what it felt like to be a baby with a razor sharp wit, a whore of a mom, and a step dad we think is hiding something from us and sister that will one day grow up to marry Tom Arnold.

Number 5 The Whole Nine Yards

I really enjoyed this movie. Bruce was funny and Amanda Peete was naked.

Number 4 The Sixth Sense

This movie was great! It did have a great twist and the build up was terrific and enjoyable. If M. Night would have stopped making movies after this film he would saved us all a lot of time and money.

Number 3 Sin City

The best comic book movie of all time is Sin City. Bruce was great in it. If you haven’t seen it buy it.

Number 2 Pulp Fiction

I would have made Pulp Fiction number 1 if it wasn’t for the movie that is number one. This movie is still great and Bruce Willis was great in it.

Number 1 Die Hard

Yippee-Ki-Yay Mother Fucker!

Uma vez eu aprendi que para se falar mal de alguma coisa ou de alguém, primeiro teria que se fazer algum elogio. Talvez tenha sido em alguma aula de redação no colegial, com aquele negócio de argumento e contra argumento ou sei lá onde. De qualquer jeito entendi que seria algo como afagar e depois bater, beijar e depois cuspir, ou agradecer e depois mandar a merda.

Quentin Tarantino é um grande diretor. Todos os filmes de sua autoria que eu havia visto até ontem – “Cães de Aluguel (1992), Pulp Fiction(1994), Jackie Brown (1997), Kill Bill 1 (2003) e Kill Bill 2 (2004)” – como também os filmes que acabei vendo por influência desses primeiros, são muito bons.

Pra quem gosta do trabalho dele e ainda não conhece o curta brasileiro “Tarantino´s Mind”, dê uma olhada:

Ele já mostrou que além de uma grande criatividade para escrever e dirigir conhece mais que todo mundo de cinema e faz questão de colocar isso em seus filmes. Foram essas “citações”, inclusive, que me fizeram assistir à quase todos os filmes estrelados por Bruce Lee.

O que eu ainda não entendi ao assistir “Bastardos Inglórios” na noite de ontem foi: por que um cara como ele, que pode criar as histórias mais escabrosas em sua mente escolheria um tema já tão debatido no cinema como esse? Por que ficar pisando no mesmo abacate? Por que de novo os Judeus? Será que ele apenas quis concretizar uma fantasia pessoal quanto à morte de Hitler? Será que só pensou na grana?

Não sabemos nem nunca saberemos em que ele pensou, e mesmo não conhecendo 1/100 dos filmes que o inspiraram em sua metalinguagem, não acho que colocar Brad Pitt de Marlon Brando (“O Poderoso Chefão”) foi lá grande coisa. Se nesses 10 anos em que ele disse ter demorado para escrever o roteiro a intenção era bater a bilheteria de Pulp Fiction, até agora nem isso ele consegui.

A escolha do tema, contudo, em minha opinião requer alguma atenção. Não dá para ficarmos fazendo 300 mil filmes pra mostrar como os alemães nazistas foram cuzões e como os judeus sofreram com a guerra. Assim a história não caminha. Tenho certeza que grande parte dos jovens alemães com um bom senso crítico não gosta de carregar esse fardo. Sem querer de maneira alguma justificar as atrocidades cometidas, mas se vai falar de um tema tão enroscado, não se pode, por exemplo, esquecer do contexto histórico que levou Hitler ao poder. Sem contar que ficar batendo na tecla de que os Estados Unidos venceram a guerra não dá mais.

Por que então, ao invés de “recriar” a segunda guerra mundial ou falar da história judia ele não faz um filme sobre os acampamentos clandestinos na Cisjordânia? Ou mesmo sobre a guerra do Afeganistão e a guerra do Iraque?

Evidente que cabem muitas ressalvas, como quanto a trilha sonora, que continua muito boa, e quanto a liberdade cinematográfica que ele ainda consegue mostrar. Mas dessa vez não deu. O que se espera de um grande talento, mesmo que dos mais populares, é que ele faça a arte caminhar pra frente, e não fique reproduzindo com novas temáticas as mesmas coisas.

I actually came across them thanks to ONE TREE HILL. Their song “Quiet in my town” was played during one of the character’s (Quentin’s) funerals and I had to look it up because it was so emotive and powerful. From there, I listened to more and more of their music…

bonjour boujour ! Je m’appelle Quentin et je suis en prmière. Passionné par l’équipe de France Foot, je me suis proposé de devnir rédacteur sur sportfr (comme je savais qu’Alex cherchait du monde ….) mais je ne le connaissais pas avant. Je lui ais envoyé un message comme quoi j’aimais le Foot et je lui ais montré mon blog Foot (que je n’ai plus maintenant). Il m’a répondu et m’a acceuilli chez sportfr. Je n’étais pas le 1er à le rejoindre il y avait Robin et Yann avant. Mais on était  seulement 4. Aujourd’huin, la famille c’est agrandie et nous somme 13 ! 1 conseil : vous voulez devenir rédacteur sportfr ? contactez Alex ! avec de bons argument, ça va marcher !

Nos cinemas, já há quase três semanas, Bastardos Inglorios tem dividido a opinião de críticos e platéias, não só aqui, mas também, no mundo todo. Ninguém disse que era ruim, mas alguns disseram que podia ser melhor.

O grande problema que Tarantino enfrenta desde Pulp Fiction é superar-se em seu próximo trabalho. E isso não é nada fácil levando em consideração o que Pulp Fiction representa para o cinema mundial. Mas em relação a maturidade de Tarantino, Inglorios Bastardos foi um grande passo. No topo da lista, no entanto, em termos de maturidade está Jackie Brown que, aliás, apesar de ter sido escrito por Tarantino, ele é baseado em um livro.

Bastardos tem uma narrativa cronológica, início, meio e fim na ordem (diferente de Cães de Aluguel, Pulp Fiction e Kill Bill), dialogos fortes e piadas apimentadas. Tem também bastante ação e uma trama que prende a atenção do espectador até o último segundo de filme. Todos os “temperos” de Tarantino estão presentes no filme, inclusive, o diretor faz uma ponta quando aparece sendo escalpelado por um dos Bastardos.

Nitidamente é um mergulho de Tarantino no cinema Europeu com uma execução impecável em temos de fotografia, movimentos de câmeras que ajudam a contar a história, diálogos muito bem escritos (que são em francês, inglês e alemão) e, um atrativo a mais, Hitler como uma parte bem ativa e chave importante na história.

Resumindo:

Vale pagar os 12 reais do cinema pra assistir?

Com certeza!

Aproveita e compra a pipoca e o refri.

Hollywood tem a fórmula para ganhar dinheiro e, um dos ingredientes, são as sequencias! Sim, por piores que sejam (e dificilmente superam o primeiro), Hollywood ainda as faz e nós ainda as assistimos.

O filme do momento é Atividade Paranormal que foi produzido por apenas 15 mil dólares e, no primeiro fim de semana de estreia, lucrou mais de 9. Quebrou o recorde que antes era de Bruxa de Blair. O filme foi todo filmado na casa do diretor com apenas uma camera. Há pouco mais de um mês nos EUA, o filme ja tem sua sequencia agendada para 2012. Não percam este filme, é muito bem feito e vale os 10 reais do cinema, mas lembro a todos: o filme é sempre em primeira pessoa no estilo Bruxa de Blair e sim, da sustos. aheauh

Temos também: Indiana Jones 5. Harrison Ford será coadjuvante de Shia Labeouf que fez seu filho no ultimo filme da franquia.

Um Tira da Pesada 4. Eddie Murphy retorna na pele de Axel Foley para mais uma aventura depois do fracasso de Um Tira da Pesada 3. Desta vez, porém, Axel pode não falar muitos palavrões (como fizeram em Duro de Matar 4) já que Eddie Murphy tem filhos pequenos, inclusive, isto teria sido sua desculpa por não ter feito mais fimes de ação.

O Motoqueiro Fantasma. Nicolas Cage não se cansa dos filmes de ação e, como prova disso, teremos ele wm chamas percorrendo a cidade em sua moto e fazendo justiça com as próprias mãos. Me desculpem os fãs do filme mas, podemos esperar clichês e mais clichês ao longo de todo filme.

Wall Street 2. Continuaçnao do sucesso de Oliver Stone, estrelando Charlie Sheen e Michael Douglas. Desta vez, Shia Labeouf assume o papel principal e, Michael retorna para reviver Gordon Gekko, um destemido acionista de Wall Street.

O Plano Perfeito 2. Continuação do filme que foi considerado o mais comercial de Spike Lee. Denzel Washington revive mais uma vez o detetive Frazier e Clive Owen retorna como Dalton Russel.

Transformers 3. Voltam os atores, voltam as lutas, explosões e destruições. Perseguições, correria, barulho e pitadas de comédia. A única coisa que não voltou desde o primeiro foi uma boa história :/

Pra finalizar, uma surpresa. Aparentemente Quentin Tarantino comfirmou KILL BILL vol 3 pra 2014. Em breve, teremos mais informações e, no momento, fica nossa torcida para que realmente aconteça. Caso não ocorra, seja qual for o próximo trabalho de Tarantino… as chances de ser um ótimo trabalho e de nos surpreender são infinitamente gigantes!

Enquanto isso não acontece, Quentin Tarantino edita Kill Bill 1 & 2 para o lançamento de KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR. Além do filme reeditado, temos cenas adicionais como a história em animação de O-Ren e mais uma intermissão na metade do filme como nos filmes antigos como A Noviça Rebelde. Tomara que disponívibilizem logo, logo! To na fila.

They had a second bouquet toss. And let me explain what’s happening in this photo. In the far left there’s two girls who seem like they’re paying attention. Then there’s the girl second from the right who clearly has the bouquet clearly in her hands. But, the girl on her right has a hold of her wrist, and the girl her left has a grip on her elbow.

After examining this photo for a long time, I still couldn’t figure out what was going.  This would be good for a ‘make your own caption.’

Meet Jenefel and Quentin. Jenefel’s (pronounced jen-uh-full) quite the comedian. Quentin’s (pronounced like Tarantino’s first name) one of those really nice people with out a single bone of malice in their whole entire body. It was a beautiful church wedding, and quite frankly an action packed day.

True story. I was shooting the shoes in the house, and the mother of the bride who’s quite a joker herself, told me I should shoot the shoes on the stove and in the microwave.  I replied by laughing nervously, because I wasn’t sure if she was serious or not. But then I thought to myself, maybe that might be a cool shot. I didn’t end up doing it because I thought the shot below was really really good already.

Um…there was this really awkward looking mannequin outside the house. So I decided to make it look even more awkward by putting shoes on it. But it’s so cool.

Kids as adorable as these make any wedding a lot more fun.

Let me tell you the story of the shot below. The make-up-brushes and compacts had a century long feud, and one day they decided to have one final battle on the land of the towel.  Bobby pins and nail polish were hurled at their opposing enemies for hours and hours.  This is what remains of the battlefield.

Putting the dress on can be a very, very exciting event.

Now on to the gentlemen. This isn’t the groom, but I just like this photo because it’s a very interesting photo to say the least. Haha. It’s probably not what you probably think it is.

“Pirate Radio/The Boat That Rocked”

Hands down, the feel good movie of the year! Before Howard Stern, and even before Wolfman Jack, a band of rogue deejays rocked the airwaves. In 1966, at the height of the British Invasion, rock and roll was only allowed to be played on British radio stations for barely two hours a week. The only way people in the U.K. could listen to rock or pop music was by tuning into pirate radio stations broadcasting from boats just off the coast of Britain in the North Sea. In Pirate Radio, previously released as The Boat That Rocked, earlier this year in the U.K., writer/director Richard Curtis tells a fictional story based on the true events of Britain’s rock and roll revolution. Broadcasting live 24/7 from an old tanker turned makeshift radio station, anchored just outside British jurisdiction, is a band of misfit deejays known as Radio Rock.

The story begins when Young Carl is sent by his mother to the ship known as Radio Rock, to spend time with his godfather Quentin, the owner of the radio station, who is played by the always brilliant Bill Nighy. It’s very much a coming of age story, and I think the British equivalent to Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous. Once on board, Young Carl meets the motley crew of deejays. There’s The Count, the flagship American deejay that is constantly pushing the envelope and crossing the line, masterfully portrayed by Philip Seymour Hoffman. There’s the always charismatic, and at times narcissistic Doctor Dave, played by the extremely funny Nick Frost. Another familiar face is that of Flight of the Concords’ manager Brian, actor Rhys Darby, who plays the self proclaimed funny man Angus “the nut” Nutsford. Even though all the faces may not be familiar, this is truly an all-star cast. Each performance is so masterfully executed that you can’t help but feel the authenticity of this film. However, I think one of the most unsung heroes of this film is Ike Hamilton, who plays Harold, the ship’s booth technician. If you watch Ike’s performance throughout the film, I guarantee that you will be totally blown away. Every little nuance that he brings to the character of Harold just radiates brilliantly off the screen. If you’re reading this after you have already seen the film, I highly recommend seeing it again for Ike’s performance alone. But, if you’re anything like me you’ll already want to see this movie again regardless.

The other side of this story is that of the British government and their efforts to stop the pirate radio ships from broadcasting. This task is helmed by Sir Alistair Dormandy, played by Kenneth Branagh, and his new assistant Mr. Twatt. I’m not kidding, his last name is Twatt. And, yes Richard Curtis takes full advantage of it. Twatt is played by Coupling’s Jack Davenport. Now, don’t worry. The political stuff doesn’t weigh down the story at all. Mostly because it’s not an overpowering plotline and it also lends itself to some of the film’s funnier scenes. I dare you not to laugh or at least snicker every time Dormandy says, “Twatt.”

Richard Curtis has, as always, done a masterful job telling this story. His unique vision, and heart warming style of storytelling, makes Pirate Radio/The Boat That Rocked a must see film. Every part of this film oozes 1966. The wardrobe is fantastic, the soundtrack is to die for, and even the look of the film itself sets the tone. It’s almost as if the film was shot and processed in 1966. Adding to the film’s authenticity, the bulk of the movie was shot onboard an actual ship, just off the south coast of England. Richard Curtis’ first cut of the film had a running time that was just over three hours. The final cut of The Boat That Rocked had a two hours and fifteen minute running time, where as the final cut for Pirate Radio has a one hour and fifty-six minute running time. I’ve seen the U.K. version of the film and enjoy both cuts, but I have to say this film is so enjoyable that I wouldn’t mind sitting though the three hour cut at some point. Most of the missing scenes from the first cut of the film appear on the U.K. DVD release of The Boat That Rocked. (U.K. DVD review will be posted soon) The two major scenes that were cut from The Boat That Rocked for the U.S. release of Pirate Radio consists of a visit to the Radio Rock ship from a large group of contest winners, and the other is the unseen stag party in London. The scenes aren’t necessarily needed, but this movie is so, as I said before, enjoyable that I don’t think you could ever get enough of these characters.

I realize this review is quickly becoming a mini-novel, but I think I would be crucified if I didn’t at least talk about the music in the film. As you would imagine, this movie is chock-full of classic rock from the likes of The Who, The Kinks, The Turtles, and so many more. Both the U.K. release, and the U.S. release of the soundtrack feature a two disc edition with 36 tracks to take you back. Also, the opening credit graphics are fantastic! The use of the radio tuner dial transitioning from scene to scene, as The Kinks’ “All Day and All of the Night” blares, instantly sucks you into the world of the movie. But, I think one of my favorite things was the use of the album covers in the end credits. It not only instills you with a fantastic sense of the history of rock and roll, but it also makes you want to listen to some great albums you might not have listened to in awhile. The bottom line here should be obvious at this point, but needless to say I highly recommend this movie no matter which version you see.
