Vamos começar pelo começo:

ZiPhone:

Foi, sem sombra de dúvida, a ferramenta de jailbreak mais famosa. Fazia o jailbreak e unlock sem necessidade de DFU, LibUSB e coisas do gênero. Era a ferramenta mais simples de jailbreak e era compatível com Mac e Windows.
O azar é que só existiu até o firmware 1.1.x.
Seu criador, Zibri, abandonou o projeto, pois dizia que estava sofrendo muita pressão.

iLibertyx/iLiberty+:

Esta ferramenta também foi desenvolvida afim de fazer jailbreak no firmware 1.1.x, e funcionava em Mac e Windows. Assim como o ZiPhone, não passou deste firmware.

PwnageTool:

Criado para libertar o iPhoneOS 2.x, compatível apenas com Mac. Seu funcionamento é totalmente diferente do ZiPhone, nessa ferramenta o usuário deve colocar o aparelho em modo DFU e criar um firmware custom, onde se encontra o jailbreak.
Agora a ferramenta está na versão 3.1.4 e faz jailbreak no firmware 3.1.2.

WinPwn:

Os usuários de Windows reclamaram que não surgiu um jailbreak para o 2.0 no Windows, então o hacker CMW criou esta ferramenta. O programa chegou até a versão 3.0, onde fazia o jailbreak do firmware 2.1.

QuickPwn:

Este foi um jailbreak bem semelhante ao ZiPhone, que era feito via Ramdisk, sem necessidade de Restore.
Ele fazia jailbreak e desbloqueio no firmware 2.0 e 2.1 Era compatível com iPod Touch 1G (jailbreak), iPhone Classic (jailbreak e desbloqueio) e iPhone 3G (jailbreak).
Devidos a problemas com o nome QuickPwn a ferramenta foi descontinuada.

Quick Freedom:

Foi a primeira ferramenta a fazer jailbreak no iPod Touch 2G no firmware 2.2.1. Era necessário colocar o aparelho em modo DFU e fazer um Custom Firmware, para ser usado na restauração no iTunes.

RedSn0w:

Criado para fazer o jailbreak na versão 3.0 do iPhoneOS. Era compatível com todos os gadgets, e na sua última versão se tornou compatível com o iPhone 3GS.
A ferramenta ainda não é compatível com o firmware 3.1.2, mas parece que o Dev-Team está trabalhando em uma atualização.

PurpleRa1n:

A ferramenta de jailbreak para libertar o iPhone 3GS com um clique criada por GeoHot. Depois do jailbreak aparecia um aplicativo na Springoboard, o Freeze, por onde podia se instalar o Cydia.

Appuloha1l/Chocolatera1n:

Supostas ferramentas desenvolvidas pelo grupo Appuloha1l que seriam lançadas em outubro. Elas fariam o jailbreak no firmware 3.1.2, mas até agora não foram lançadas.

Sn0wBreeze:

Essa ferramenta do grupo iH8sn0w seria lançada em outubro e faria o jailbreak no iPhoneOS 3.1.2. O prgrama era para ser uma alternativa para ao PwnageTool 3.1.4 para os usuários de Windows.

BlackRa1n:

Uma ferramenta que segue o mesmo formato do PurpleRa1n. O processo leva menos de 10 minutos e faz jailbreak em todos os aparelhos no firmware 3.1.2, porém no iPod Touch 3G (2G’09) o jailbreak é tethered. Após a libertação aparecerá um aplicativo na Springboard, o blackra1n, por onde é possível instalar o Cydia, Rock e Blacksn0w (desbloqueio de operadora).

GreenPois0n:

Programa que fará a fuga dos presos no iPod Touch 3G (2G’09) e no “novo” iPhone 3GS no firmware 3.1.2. A ferramenta está sendo desenvolvida pelo Chronic Dev-Team e não tem previsão certa para lançamento. A equipe está pensando em lançar uma versão lite, que faça jailbreak semi-tethered no iPod 3G e no iPhone 3GS.

The iPhone Dev-Team have confirmed that there is no need for them to release new tools for jailbreaking the latest firmware 3.0.1.

They released this information:

The 3.0.1 release is a “branch” from 3.0 that occurs (code-wise) before all the 3.1 betas. The programs redsn0w needs to change for the jailbreak are identical when you compare the 3.0 and 3.0.1 versions. It seems pretty much the only changes Apple made were for the SMS bug, which affects programs that redsn0w doesn’t touch. That’s why you can re-use redsn0w 0.8 on 3.0.1 even though it was written for 3.0.

And since 3.0.1 doesn’t touch the baseband either, ultrasn0w 0.9 works for those needing the soft unlock. Just install it from the repo666.ultrasn0w.com repository using Cydia as usual.

We’ll at some point fix redsn0w to recognize both 3.0 and 3.0.1 IPSW’s, but really that’s the only change that would be made to it. Everything else would be identical, so there’s no need to wait for the “proper” version that recognizes the 3.0.1 IPSW as valid.

So to jailbreak the new firmware just use the old tools and you should have no problems.

Apple earlier today released the latest iPhone OS, version 3.0.1. This update fixes the major SMS security issue that they have finally fixed.

There hasn’t been many changes in the latest firmware release that have been found other than the SMS fix, feel free to email them in if you find any.

If you want to jailbreak your device it has been reported that in most cases it works fine but maybe wait a while until everything gets checked out.

Many developers have to support the old 2.2.1 firmware for their applications. Here is a short and easy guide HowTo do the downgrade from 3.0 back to 2.2.1:

For the guys who had problems like: error 20, 1600, 1601, etc.

Software needed:

• iTunes 8.2
• QuickPwnRC3
• iPhone Firmware 2.0.2 (ipsw) for your iPhone/iPod Generation
• QuickPwn 2.2.5 (for Firmware 2.2.1)

Steps for downgrade:

1. Open QuickpwnRC3 and follw the steps and select 2.0.2 IPSW
2. when your iPhone screen turns to complete white color , unplug the USB – your iPhone will remain with the white screen in recovery mode
3. Exit QuickPWNRc3
4. Reconnect iPhone
5. iTunes will discover iPhone in recovery mode.
6. E-Shift+Restore to 2.2.1 (with Quickpwn 2.2.5)

Dies ist eine ausführliche Anleitung, wie man ein iPhone 3G mit Simlock von OS  2.X auf 3.0 upgraden und den Simlock entfernen kann. Alle hier gezeigten Schritte wurden erfolgreich mit meinem iPhone 3G mit OS 2.2 und Orange Simlock durchgeführt. Funktioniert aber auch mit jedem anderen Simlock.

Anmerkung: Mit dem iPhone 2G lässt sich das gleiche analog durchführen. Dafür müssen die Schritte ab 14 aber nicht mehr durchgeführt werden.

Wichtig: Alle folgenden Schritten erfolgen auf eigene Gefahr! Ich hafte nicht für etwaige Schäden. Durch das Modifizieren der Software kann ihr iPhone beschädigt werden und die Garantie verloren gehen.

Anleitung:

1. iPhone per USB an den PC anschließen

2. iTunes öffnen und iPhone aktualisieren

3. iTunes lädt automatisch OS 3.0

4. iPhone wird auf OS 3.0 aktualisiert

5. iPhone wird neugestartet …

6. … und mit nicht unterstützer SIM wieder erkannt. Keine Angst, falls das iPhone kein Netz mehr findet. Dies ist normal

7. Als Windows User redsn0w downloaden (Alternativ: Pwnage Tool für Mac OS X)

8. In den genauen Firmware Ordner navigieren:

Dieser befindet sich normalerweise in:

C:\Users\”Benutzername“\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

9. Nur Cydia als Installer auswählen, sonst funktioniert der Unlock nicht!

10. iPhone ausschalten, aber USB Kabel nicht entfernen

11. Jetzt den genauen Anweisungen im nächsten Fenster folgen (Leider kein Bild, da dies zu schnell ging), um in den iPhone DFU Modus zu gelangen

12. iPhone sollte jetzt eine Ananas zeigen: Der Jailbreak wird installiert (Anmerkung: Beim iPhone 2G ist damit zusätzlich auch der Unlock abgeschlossen)

13. iPhone vom USB Kabel trennen. Die folgenden Schritte werden nur noch am iPhone 3G durchgeführt

14. Das neue Icon Cydia öffnen

15. Neue Paketquelle hinzufügen: http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com

16. Das Paket ultrasn0w suchen und installieren

17. iPhone neustarten.

18. Fertig. iPhone 3G sollte nun ohne Simlock sein.

Nachdem das neue iPhone Betriebssystem OS 3.0 diesen Mittwoch erschienen ist, warte ich immer noch darauf, dass ultrasn0w released wird, damit ich mein 3G von OS 2.2 auf 3.0 updaten kann. Das neue Pwnage-Tool für den Jailbreak mit OS 3.0 gibt es bereits.

Ultrasn0w ist der Nachfolger von yellowsn0w und ermöglicht es, einen Simlock zu umgehen, also das iPhone 3G für alle Simkarten freizuschalten. Auf meinem jetzigen iPhone 3G mit OS 2.2 läuft yellowsn0w.

redsn0w ist die 2G Version von ultrasn0w und seit gestern verfübar: iPhone 2G Besitzer können als bereits auf OS 3.0 updaten.

Um yellowsn0w, redsn0w bzw. ultrasn0w installieren zu können, benötigt man ein gejailbreaktes iPhone, da es …sn0w nicht im Apple Appstore gibt, sondern es nur über Cydia (oder Icy), ein zusätzliches paketbasierendes Installationsprogramm, installiert werden kann.

Würde ich auf OS 3.0 mit dem Pwnage Tool updaten, hätte ich zwar wieder ein iPhone mit Jailbreak, allerdings auch wieder mit Simlock – bis ultrasn0w erscheint. Die Telefonfunktion gegen neue Funktionen einzutauschen ist kein guter Tausch…

Zu iPhone OS 3.0:

Das neue OS 3.0 bringt einige neue Funktionen mit:

- Copy & Paste: Man kann nun in jedem Programm Texte und Photos kopieren, ausschneiden und sogar in anderen Programmen wieder einfügen.

- Tastatur im Querformat: Die Tastatur lässt sich nur auch ins Querformat drehen. Wichtig für Menschen mit größeren Fingern…

- MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service): Diese Funktion habe ich ehrlich gesagt gar nicht vermisst, gehört aber einfach zum Standard. Eigentlich lächerlich, dass diese erst mit OS 3.0 eingeführt wurde…

- Spotlight: Damit lassen sich Kontakte, E-Mails, Notizen, Kalender und iPod nach Stichworten durchsuchen.

- Sprachmemos: Man kann nun kleine Notizen aufnehmen… Ob ich das brauche, muss ich noch herausfinden.

- Tethering: Die Internetverbindung des iPhones (entweder EDGE, UMTS oder WLAN), kann man per USB Kabel mit dem Notebook “sharen”. Das iPhone funktioniert als Modem.

- …und noch viele weitere neue Funktionen und Verbesserungen. Mehr dazu bei hier.

Update 2 : gata nu mai am rabdare sa tot frec telefonul asta m-am saturat , nu vrea si nu vrea dreq’ de telefon. Dupa 2134234 de incercari si 12423423 de comenturi citite NIMIC! si se pare ca nu sunt singurul cu aceasta problema. Gata ma duc la o bere rece ! REDSN0W PROVIDES SIMILAR FUNCTIONALITY TO QUICKPWN.

redsn0w is an easy to use, multi-platform, multi-device jailbreaking and unlocking tool for the iPhone 2G (original iPhone), the iPhone 3G (but not the 3GS) and also the iPod touch (first and second generation). Currently it is available for Windows and Mac OS X (there are some issues using redsn0w with OS X PPC, please use an Intel Mac until we have this problem resolved).

If you want to build custom firmware files with more flexibility it is suggested that you use ‘PwnageTool’ on Mac OS X.

1. GOLDEN RULE: If you are using a 3G iPhone with yellowsn0w and rely on yellowsn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should NOT use redsn0w right now. Ultrasn0w (the 3G carrier unlock) is not included with this release and therefore your baseband will be locked and unable to use an operator other than the official one it was bought for. UltraSn0w will be released via APT (cydia and icy) soon. If you have an original iPhone (1st generation) then 3.0 carrier unlock works with this redsn0w release.
2. Yellowsn0w in its current form will NOT work with the baseband version that is present in the 3.0 update, you will need Ultrasn0w, which will be released sometime soon, Ultrasn0w will work with all iPhone 3G models (but not 3GS), even ones that were previously unlockable, Ultrasn0w (when available) will be released via APT (this means you will be able to get it via Cydia or Icy).
3. Please read all parts of this post before downloading and using these tools.
4. Read items 1, 2 and 3 again and again.
5. At the bottom of this post are the bittorrent files for the latest version of redsn0w.
6. This app is suitable for the recent 3.0 release
7. redsn0w will NOT work for the iPhone 3GS.
8. redsn0w WILL work for Original iPhone (1st Generation), Original iPod touch, iPod touch 2G and the iPhone 3G (not the iPhone 3GS).

To use redsn0w simply upgrade the device in iTunes to firmware version 3.0 and run redsn0w to activate and jailbreak the device (and if you are using an original iPhone 2G, it will unlock it too!)

Now that Apple has released iPhone OS 3.0, The Dev-Team can now release the jailbrake for the new firmware. There is already a jailbrake for the beta’s of the new firmware but it’s not advised you use it, as it could have cause some problems.

The release is said to be shortly after the release of the firmware so keep your eyes on here and I will post when it’s been released with download links.

Just a note to those who jailbrake not all the Cydia/Icy app’s will work on 3.0 yet so don’t expect all of them to work straight away.

Also on friday, the Dev-Team will be releasing ultrasn0w which will allow you to unlock the new firmware.

As a jailbraker myself, although upgrading to iPhone OS 3.0 on Wenesday might seem like a great thing to do just wait until the Dev-Team have sorted out a jailbrake even though I doubt it will be long as they have a jailbrake for the Beta firmware.

Best idea is wait till the Dev-Team have released the jailbrake and then update to the new iTunes and install the new firmware.

I almost can’t believe it, but the iPhone Dev Team did it again. Finally after months of agony waiting for a unlock for my 3G iPhone 2.2.1 baseband 2.30.03. Well, them boyz at the iPhone Dev Team released on June 6th, 2009 the all new iPhone 3G Unlock for the 2.2.1 with a baseband of 2.3x.xx. Yes, this is the full unlock for all 3G iPhone’s that are firmware version 2.2.1 with any 2.3 baseband. I thought that was pretty damn unbelievable myself until I tried this new Yellowsn0w version.

I must say Yellowsn0w is a pretty damn awesome company. Offering the best iPhone Unlock software for free! Shitttt, who could complain. Right? Well, there is a catch. Yah, sounded to good to be true… Well, let me tell you.. It’s is true but the catch is this is not just some iPhone 3G Unlock for the 2.2.1 firmware 2.3 baseband…. It’s also a jailbreak too! Yep, I thought that was pretty damn great to include a jailbreak and unlock into the same iPhone Unlock software. Right?

A few days back we brought you a simple guide to jailbreak your iPhone with firmware 2.2.1 on your Mac. Well today we are showing some love for our Windows faithful.

This guide will show you how to jailbreak the iPhone 3g only, not the first generation iPhone. Some important notes before we begin: You must have iTunes 8 installed and you must be on firmware 2.2.1, if you are not, be sure to update via iTunes. Also make sure to go into the task manager and disable ANYTHING Apple or iTunes related.

Let’s get started, after the jump!

1. Get the tools.

Once you are positive you are running the 2.2.1 on your iPhone 3G and have iTunes 8 installed it’s time to get the tools you will need. Create a folder on your desktop named “Pwnage”, then download the following files into that folder.

• Windows QuickPwn
• iPhone 3g 2.2.1 IPSW firmware

Once you have downloaded the above files you should unzip the QuickPwn zip file inside the Pwnage folder you just created.

2. Launch QuickPwn

This should be simple enough no? Launch QuickPwn from the folder you extracted it to on your desktop.

3. Connect your iPhone 3G

Connect your iPhone 3G via USB to your computer and click the blue arrow to continue.

4. Locate Firmware

Now we have to click the browse button to locate your iPhone 3G firmware.

5. Selecting the 2.2.1 firmware IPSW

Select the 2.2.1 firmware IPSW file from the Pwnage folder you created on your desktop then select the IPSW file and click the open button.

6. Firmware Verification

QuickPwn will now verify you have selected the correct firmware. After it is verified click the blue arrow to continue.

7. Customize your firmware

This step allows you select what you’d like installed on your iPhone. You have the ability to select Cydia, Installer, and replace boot logos. Once you have made your selections click the blue arrow to continue on. If you want a full jailbreaking experience, installing Cydia and Installer is highly recommended.

8. Verify connection

QuickPwn will noW verify that your iPhone 3G is still connected to your PC. Again click the blue arrow to continue your journey…

9. Potential Tricky Part – Pay Attention

Ok, this part seems to give some people issues, but I assure you it does work. QuickPwn will now put your iPhone 3G into recovery mode. When its in recovery mode you will be given directions to: Hold the Home button for 5 seconds, Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds, then release the Power button and continuing holding the Home button until your iPhone is in DFU mode.

10. Let the jailbreaking begin – no going back now!

QuickPwn will detect your phone is in DFU mode and proceed with the jailbreaking process.

11. You are officially jailbroken – Congrats!
