Pernah bertanya-tanya di mana motor-motor juara diabadikan? Karena Yamaha baru saja dimahkotai oleh M1, R1, R6 dari Rossi, Spies dan Crutchlow di tahun 2009, Yamaha pikir ini akan menjadi ide yang baik untuk mengungkapkan kepada publik ruang sensasional tempat para motor juara berasal. Ini merupakan salah satu strategi PR yang cukup mengesankan, membuka pintu untuk publik bisa melihat isi nya motor juara-juara Yamaha.

Well, mending liat dulu gimana rasa kalo ada kesempatan naikin motor para juara 2009 dari YAMAHA M1, R1 and R6…hihih =P

Selama bertahun-tahun, balap Yamaha berpusat di Belanda, namun pertumbuhan eksponensial Italian penjualan serta penandatanganan Valentino pada tahun 2004 telah memindahkan pusatnya ke Italia Yamaha Gerno di markas besarnya di Lesmo, Italia. Tata gedung yang modern dan kompleks serta mengesankan terletak tepat di sebelah sirkuit Monza, sebelah utara Milan.

Last emperor in the 990 dynasty, Valentino’s 2005 championship winner. By this point the engine had totally changed. Vertically stacked gearbox, central gear cam drive (chain and gears mix on the right side before), rear shock anchoring to the cases and, if you could peek inside, you’d see the 90 degree staggered crank pins adopted by the R1 this year.

The full line-up of 990 MotoGp engines covering the years 2002-2006 was on show. Seeing them one next to the other was a really rare opportunity. It was quite fascinating to be able to follow the development of the different mechanical features and motor architectures.

Compared to the carbon enclosed M1s, the simplicity of the 250 racer is remarkable. The YDS1R was Yamaha’s first production racer and was based on the successful works “Mount Asama” racers.

M1s have always useD 4-2-1 exhaust systems, but the old debate about which cylinders should be joined was alive within Yamaha R&D. The 2005 engine in the foreground has cylinders 1&2, 3&4 linked, while the 2004 version in the background has cylinders 1&4, 2&3 joined. What works best then?

The main corporate meeting room has a nice piece of dynamic sculpture. The Racing headquarters is also the place were contracts are negotiated and strategies decided.

The main space in Yamaha’s racing HQ is actually the loading area. The lines numbered 1 to 4 are where the huge rigs park to load and unload their precious wares. Yamaha Racing, together with some loyal local collectors, put together a very fine show. The maintenance labs, sorry, I meant workshops, can be seen through the windows on the right side.

Two strokes galore! From a 1962 250 TD1, through an 80’s TZ125 up to the gone-but-not-forgotten, all-mighty, YZR 500 (ex Noric Abe). Unlike archrival Honda, Yamaha’s history was written with burnt oil, and there were plenty of strokers on show. The only missing ingredient was the sweet smell of castor oil in the air.

Not so sure that Vale really likes the idea, but Biaggi’s 2002 steed shared space with his 2008 Championship winner. Many forget now that Max achieved the runner-up spot in the single year he rode the M1 and was instrumental in it’s early development.

Dalam kasus M1, terlihat jelas ketepatan dan kompleksitas dari bagian-bagian mesin, merupakan karya yang datang langsung dari Jepang hanya setelah mereka uji tentunya. Oleh karena itu, Yamaha Racing Eropa HQ terutama hanya berkaitan dengan pemeliharaan, bukan pembuatan. Setelah mendengar banyak kisah mengerikan tentang kehancuran rutin mesin protoype, ternyata Yamaha tidak mengirimkan begitu banyak mesin lama tersebut ke tempat penghancuran. Beberapa mesin masih disimpan di tempat ini. Thank God…=P

Just fa deu dies Joan Rangel (Delegat del Govern espanyol a Catalunya), Jordi Serra (Alcalde de Badalona) i Antonio González (President d’ADIF) presentaven el projecte de remodelació de l’estació de Rodalies de Badalona (R1), inclosa en el Pla de remodelació de la xarxa de Rodalies.

Aquest projecte pressupostat en 4,2 milions d’euros l’executarà la Sociedad Estatal de Infraestructuras del Transporte Terrestre i ofereix millores pel que fa a l’accessibilitat de l’estació (ascensors, escales mecàniques, itineraris per a cecs). També inclou l’esperat recreixement (fins 68 cm) i perllongament (fins a 200 m) d’andanes per adaptar-les a les característiques del nou material mòbil.

No obstant, aquest projecte no és prou ambiciós i deixa diversos problemes sense resoldre.

• No ampliació de les barreres tarifaries (torns) de sortida

És evident que els torns que hi ha de sortida en l’edifici annex no són suficients. De fet, amb una mica de sort, només n’hi ha tres amb servei i això genera cues i col·lapses a hora punta al sortir de l’estació. A més no trobo adequat que les barreres tarifaries de sortida estiguin fora de l’edifici de l’estació: un problema en la lectura de la banda magnètica d’un bitllet comporta més col·lapse per la lenta resolució de les incidències al quedar aïllat de les taquilles. D’altra banda aquests torns de sortida estan massa desprotegits, a l’intempèrie i, m’atreviria a dir, que amb risc d’electrificació els dies de pluja!

• No obertura de l’accés costat mar/front marítim

Molts clients fan ús del vehicle privat per accedir a l’estació i no tenen accés directe a l’aparcament. El nou pla de remodelació no inclou cap accés pel costat mar, fet que provocarà que molta gent hagi de seguir creuant la “via morta” per poder anar més ràpidament al seu cotxe al arribar de Barcelona. Seria adequat fer-hi un accés soterrat amb torns tal i com hi ha a l’estació de Vilanova i la Geltrú, per tal que l’accés no suposi una pèrdua d’operativitat de l’estació.

• No adequació dels edificis auxiliars

El Pla tampoc preveu millorar edificis annexos. Ni tampoc fa cap referència a la lluita per la plaga de coloms que ocupen estació, marquesines… Tampoc preveu la possiblitat de fer ús dels espais que abans utilitzava ADIF per a la circulació, com a espais d’ús pels clients (espai comercial, lavabos, ampliació de torns…).

• Teleindicadors i megafonia

Aquest Pla tampoc preveu la instal·lació de pantalles, teleindicadors i megafonia que, en el fons, són un element bàsic per l’accesibilitat de l’estació. No tinc clar que això hagi d’estar en un Pla de remodelació d’una estació, perquè depèn de l’empresa operadora que presta el servei, en aquest cas Renfe Operadora. No obstant considero que per molt que es millori l’accesibilitat amb ascensors, itineraris per a invidents o una maqueta amb braile, les persones cegues no podran fer ús de manera autònoma de l’estació sinó disposen d’un servei de megafonia que anunciï la destinació del trens.

• Estacionament de bicicletes

No sé des de quan és competència d’ADIF fer un aparcament de bicicletes a l’exterior de l’estació. En tot cas només els voldria informar que en lloc on volen col·locar-lo ja existeix. Si volen, podrien cooperar amb l’Ajuntament, l’ATM  i el DPTOP i fer quelcom útil, un Biciberg o BiciGo tal i com he proposat a la Regidora de Medi Ambient.

• Conclusió

Un projecte més fruit de la improvisació i la voluntat que té Foment amb fer les coses mal fetes amb el vist-i-plau de la Generalitat… Ah, i amb un termini de finalització: principis de 2011! Apostem que s’acabarà amb retard? Penseu que és el SEITT...

PD: al fer les notes de premsa i les presentacions podrien mirar si posen imatges de l’estació correcte! En la pàgina 3 de la presentació apareix l’estació de Montgat, potser van aprofitar la presentació de la remodelació que van fer fa poc en aquesta estació…

A NeoGAF user, goldsoundz, noticed this billboard in his town of Shreveport, Louisiana. Goldsoundz explained that Shreveport is a popular spot for film shoots, and that this billboard for Resistance 3 will show up in the movie: Battle: Los Angeles, which is set to come out early 2011.

Looking at the billboard, i’m guessing we will be seeing New York in this resistance, in my opinion, hopefully it’ll be more enjoyable than R2.

With the R1 prototype completed, I have been testing it in waters that it was designed for.  It seems to meet the design requirements so far, although it has a bit less stability that I had hoped.  It is manageable, but those without a lot of paddling experience may find it tender.  It is quick on flat water, and highly maneuverable when picking a path through rocks.  I think the final version will have some height added to the bow to sweeten the sheer line, but also to add a bit more volume to help keep the bow from burying off drops.

The completed prototype weighs in at 25 lbs, making it exceptionally easy to handle on or off the water.

The motorcycle is something I know very little about, admittedly. I had always wanted one growing up, but my uncle had been the victim of a hit and run accident on a bike, so (understandably) I’ve been banned from the privilege. Nevertheless, they are ridiculously fun to look at and admire for their abilities…two things that don’t always go hand in hand.

I found this R1 while scouring the ‘net and I must say…it looks like an amazing machine. Would make for some sexy garage eye-candy even if I wasn’t able to ride it.

Well kalo ngomongin soal jawara satu ini, hmmm…gak bakal ada abisnya deh. Banyak orang pasti setuju bahwa 2009 adalah taonnya Yamaha R6, R1 dan juga M1. Boleh dicek tuh…klasemen sementara dari berbagai balapan dunia (WSBK dan MotoGP). Terus gmana dengan taon depan?
