December. Where did the year go? I can barely remember June. . . yet then again, in my sleep-deprived state, I can barely remember what happened a week ago.

I was thinking the other day about how sometimes I complain about not having enough time–for myself and the things that I want to do. But in reality, I have tons of time. One blessing about being a stay-at-home mom is that, though it is a 24-hour-a-day job, it still allows me the flexibility to do many of the things I want to do.

I mean, really. . . In how many ways have I expanded my knowledge? I know way more about myself now than ever.

But this morning, as my son throws grapes on the ground and my daughter demands to be held, I am thankful for this time period in my life. . . that I have lots of time–plenty of time–to dream.

Yay! I have the full version now! This is such a cute pixar short – diddums!!! And all he wanted was a carrot…cute. A very cheeky bunny! Anyway! Enjoy the short! It is one of my favourites, second only to the bird one. But this is definately my second fav.

What is Tin Toy??

Marten are slim, weasel-like animals that live in the Northern forests around the world.

Martens are small, weasel-like animals with slender bodies and long, bushy tails.

One of the best-known martens is the American martens, often called the American sable.

The American marten is found only in the denser forests of North America.  It is about the size of the house cat and has soft, golden-brown fur.

Its favorite den is a mosslined hollow, high up in a tree.  But a rock pile or hollow log will often do as well.

This agile animal is an expert tree climber.  It chases squirrels through the treetops, leaping easily from one branch to another.  On the ground, it hunts mice, rabbits and other small animals.

Unfortunately for the little marten it, too, is hunted.  Its rich, lustrous fur is prized for coats, flats, and muffs.

Its chief enemies, besides man, are the horned owl and the lynx.

Because they have become quite rare, martens are protected by law in many of our states.

The European Parliament approved and adopted on 26 April 2007 a regulation providing for special rapid response teams to be set up to give technical and operational assistance in the case of major influxes of illegal migrants over the external borders of any EU Member State.

In negotiations on the regulation, questions immediately arose over the funding of the teams and the need for all Member States to contribute financial and human resources. According to the draft regulation, it will be up to the Frontex Management Board to decide by a three-quarters majority the profiles and the overall number of border guards to be made available by each Member State.
The salaries of border guards deployed in rapid border intervention teams deployed in a host country will continue to be paid by the countries of origin, but the additional costs of operations (travel expenses, repatriation, insurance, living costs) will be borne by Frontex. To this end, Parliament has boosted the agency’s budget by €10 million for 2007.

The decision as to whether an influx amounts to an “emergency” justifying a request to mobilise an intervention team will by taken by the Director of Frontex.
