The 7 member group After School and the new 7 member group Rainbow’s contest is getting alot of attention from others.

First, the 7 member group or the’ 2nd Pinkle’ that’s getting alot of attention is Rainbow. It looks as if Rainbow will win this contest effortlessly after hearing their debut song ‘Gossip Girl’.

On the 14th, at Show! Music Core, Rainbow had a cute, fresh and charming performance. They sang along well to the addictive melody and the beat. Also, it was very impressive to hear a new group singing live at their debut stage.

Kim Jaekyung (20), Jung Yoonhye (20), No Eul (20), Go WooRi (21), Oh SeungA (21), Kim Jisook (19), Jo Hyunyoung (18) all had been training for 4 years under the same company who created SS501 and Kara. Which is probably the reason why their vocal and dance skills are outstanding.

In a recent interview, Rainbow has said “After School sunbae’s performance are amazing and their performances are always perfect! Especially the leader Park Gahyee, her performance is amazing so we keep on watching her videos.”

I was trying to put myself into your shoes while driving us home, when the end of the rainbow fell into our path in a no stopping zone – of all places.

No, not those kind! This is a reminder that an exceedingly exciting trio plays the Jazz Club, the monthly get-togethers for intrepid jazz explorers at the Rainbow pub in Digbeth, Birmingham, tonight. It sometimes feels in this behind-the-pub courtyard that this might be what it was like in those New York lofts in the 1970s and ’80s – gritty, cutting edge, filled with the excitement of listening to jazz’s future being made here and now.

Providing the excitement this evening is Zed-U: Neil Charles on bass, Shabaka Hutchings on clarinet and, for this gig, Seb Rochford on drums. Among many really interesting young British jazz groups this is one of the most interesting, experimental yet accessible with it. What I have learned today in Genesis that I thought was very interesting or that I didn’t know already!  The rainbow is Gods promise to all living creatures of every kind on the earth that God will never ever again destroy them with a flood Genesis 9:8-13.  Now when ever I see a rainbow it is like Gods signature in the sky!

So, I’m pretty sure Rainbow is getting this item along with a few stocking stuffers like this and this and this for Christmas.

He asked Santa for it, and Santa (I’m quite certain) feels it is a reasonable request. I think Santa also knows that probably he will not be the only person to give Rainbow presents this year, and that he doesn’t need to go crazy with the toys because Rainbow will shortly have Ward’s play kitchen out and assembled to play in and there are a lot of toys in this house already.

(Although Rainbow does need a special stocking. Santa may be still looking for that.)

Santa (who takes parents’ feelings into consideration at our house) knows that we like the idea of One Big Toy Item in the living room, and thinks that I especially will find this item both visually pleasing and durable. Santa knows that I will also enjoy hanging onto this item as years go by, and that it will probably stow under the piano in the music room and we can wheel it out when young ones come over for visits and won’t that be convenient.

Santa, fortunately, did not witness my irritation when I learned that this company would not combine the free shipping and the 15% off coupons that I had, but I’m pretty sure that Santa nonetheless decided it was a good deal.

***edited to add: Okay, so Santa just saw that that is for ages 3 and up. But that’s crazy talk, right? Probably just there because of the chalk board? I mean, Rainbow will love pulling up on this item and pushing those beads around and doing that race game thing, right?

I made rainbow cupcakes that I seen on Picky Palate blog.  Her cupcakes are so beautiful.  But mine didn’t look as good as the ones she made.

I made a few changes, maybe it affected the color but the taste was great and they were so moist.  I used a white cake mix instead of yellow (I don’t think it affected the color).  I thought I had a instant vanilla pudding mix in the pantry, but I was wrong.  I had : butterscotch, chocolate, pistachio.  So I took butterscotch.  Maybe it affected the color but chocolate would have been worst for the color LOL

I made only 12 cupcakes.  So they were big.  I was not so good at separating the colors.  So I did it the best I can.  I would like to present you a beautiful cupcake but I can’t for now.

I wanted to do a frosting and chose Wedding Cupcake Buttercream from RecipeGirl.  I did half the recipe.  I’m glad cause my boyfriend and my son prefer these cupcakes without frosting.  They’re so boring LOL  Anyway, I kept the frosting for my cupcakes and I’ll probably have to do more cupcakes because of the leftover frosting that is waiting in the fridge

I really love this buttercream.  It’s so yummy!

Last night I was putting Rainbow to bed and reading Goodnight Moon (again: DANG, but this child loves this book with a passion) and he said it.

His first word, other than an occasional “Da Da” and (when agitated) a “Ma!” or “Mam!”

(Which I confess that I love and may cultivate. I’ve been Mama to all the other boys, but Mam is pretty sweet.)

Anyway!

He kind of left out the vowel (who needs it, anyway) and said Bk! Bk! and patted his book excitedly. Of course he wouldn’t repeat it for Daddy J last night after I called him up, and hasn’t repeated it yet today, but:

I was waiting at a red light on my return to work today after lunch and the sun was glaring in my eyes. I’d came home on my lunch (as per usual) and opened up my package from LensBaby. I had the 2.8 aperture in and the cross dangling from my rearview mirror wasn’t super still. But, I love this shot. I’m already in love with this lens and can’t wait to take more pictures. My Composer Baby will be an everywhere companion.

Part of a poet’s job includes noticing.  Noticing that a sign in the fabric store now says, “Brocades and Sari Fabrics.”  When did that change?  It makes sense, though.  The fabrics are beautiful, rich, jewel-toned and perfect for the saris I’ve seen.  The saris I’ve seen on women here in the midwest, anyway.

The other morning on the way to work, I noticed a double-rainbow ending just past the building where I work.  I pulled over to take a picture, but only one showed up on film.

Today I noticed how long the fog lasted.  The view out the seventh floor window looked like being underwater until almost noon.

I noticed the lake gulls feeding in the parking lot.

All of these things will probably end up in a poem(s) and telling more about me than I ever noticed about myself.

Lately I’m fascinated to consult my fate on fortune cookies, horoscope, and psychic Anita online. I’m thrilled each day trying to unfold good things that fate may bring. I know whatever the outcome there is, it’s simply a coincidence. Nevertheless, I won’t trade the short and abrupt excitement it gives me regardless it is true or untrue. According to my fortune cookie today “If you want the rainbow, you must put up with the rain.” The first time I read it, I blurted “Wow! I like this passage!” The second time I read it, I smiled trying to reckon every detail of my past which relates to this quote. Through these years, I always referred “rainbow” to something that brings happiness. It could be love, success, fulfilled dream or wish, material thing or simple things that make me smile and uplift my spirit. Good as it may sound, the process of achieving the “rainbow” is not as beautiful as flowers and butterflies. Literally, I went through a lot a difficult and painful “rains” before I attained most of my heart’s desires. Despite the hardships, the fruit of every success I take is so meaningful.

This whole I prefer Daddy to Mama and will lunge at him and shower him with kisses Thing is having its desired effect: I’ve had to step it up a notch.

O, the smiles, the singing, the patient repetitive book-reading, the 3:30 am snuggling – all because I really want to be his favorite. Which, yes, is very immature and self-centered, but there you go. I want me some gooshy kisses and baby lunges toward me, too. I think he thinks of me as his vehicle, his feeder, his needs-fulfiller, which is great, but I’d like him to be wild about me.

Daddy J has one up on me, though – I think the whiskers are a big part of it. He reported that Rainbow really likes to have the silky top of his head rubbed with them. It may also just be a Man Thing (the deeper voice, the height, the overall bigger-ness) because Rainbow’s crazy about Papa, too. When he comes over, Rainbow fusses to be picked up IMMEDIATELY and heaven help us if Papa does not oblige.

I secretly comfort myself with the idea that he thinks of himself as just an offshoot of me, since I’m the primary caregiver – like, he doesn’t really differentiate between himself and me. Of course I do all these things for him, and he doesn’t need to be all affectionate toward me to make me do it, because we are not separate. But I’m skeptical of this mumbo-jumbo, and still very jealous.

I may have to resort to sweets. I gave him a little dab of nutella this morning and he loved it.

They have waited a long time. When DSP Media, the company who created Jaxkiss, Pinkle, and SS501, announced that they’re creating a new girl group, many fans were very excited. At first, it seemed as if the group would debut right away, but later on, there was no signs of when they would debut.

Rainbow has finally debut 1 year later than they expected with their mini album ‘Gossip Girl’. Leader Kim Jaekyung (21) and No Eul (20) had been training for 4 years.

“They kept on telling us that we would debut soon, but I started to get worried as the time went by.” said Kim Jaekyung. “After our first performance it actually felt like as we debuted. I was very nervous the day before the debut. Thinking about what I had gone through over the years made me laugh and cry at the same time.”

Getting 3 years of training, Jung Yoonhye (19) said, “I was very nervous when we were having our first recording. And my friends texted me asking ‘Are you really debuting!?!’, I couldn’t believe it either! That I was finally going to debut!”

The name Rainbow was made by the fans who were waiting for them to debut ever since they were trainees. After hearing the rumor that it was going to be a girl group with 7 members, the fans started to call them Rainbow, and it led up to becoming their group name. This name was approved by SS501’s Kim Gyujong.

“Gyujong sunbae said ‘SS501′ was a hard name and it gave some confusion. So he wanted us to have a simple name, so that’s how we ended up with the group name Rainbow.” explained the members.

Like the 7 colors of a rainbow, each member has a different personality.

The leader Kim Jaekyung, currently studying clothing design at Dongduk all girl college, dreamt of being a singer ever since middle school. Before, she couldn’t dance very well so she signed up for a dance class which led up to her meeting Lee Hyori’s dance team. Through them she has gotten a chance to talk to DSP Media. “When I first came to meet them I thought I was going to join Kara but they told me there was going to be a new girl group so I waited, and the wait eventually became 4 years.” said Kim Jaekyung.

Go WooRi (21) has joined the group 7 months ago. She is currently studying about life dance at Korea CheoDae College. “I go to the same church as MBC’s Infinity Challenge director, Kim Taehee. And through Kim Taehee unnie I was able to get into DSP Media” said Woori.

Maknae Jo Hyunyoung (19) is a senior at Shingyuang All girls highschool. She has gotten into the group with 1 year of training. “The night before our debut, I couldn’t sleep at all! It still feels like a dream!” she said *showing the down to earth side of her.

Studying to become a entertainer at the Dongduk All Girls College, Jung Yoonhye went on a diet because of the debut. She told us that we has lost 20kg (**44 pounds) because of the diet. “Later on, I might show a picture of me when I was young, that weighed 20kg more than I weight now. Although I’m nervous, my number one priorty is to make our group well known” she said.

“When I was young, my parents like classic music. When I told them that I wanted to become a singer, they were really against it. They said cruel things like I was too fat to be a singer so that’s why I started on my diet.” said Jung Yoonhye.

Kim JiSook (19), is the member who’s most obsessed with music. When she was in high school she started a rock band and at Soowon’s composite art competition they won 1st place. She still showed alot of obession with music even after changing school to Hanyang All Girls College. At the music class she attended to, when she was in high school, she met Kara’s ex member Sunghee and that’s how she became a part of Rainbow.

No Eul was a SS501 fan then she became a singer. After chasing after SS501, at 2005 she met a DSP Media manager and became their traniee. Being Kim Hyungjoong’s fan, No Eul said “It was hard to believe that I was working for the same company as SS501. But after practicing for a while that feeling went away.” Since she was busy working for them, it blocked her from switching schools.

Studying about movie making at SangMyung College, Oh SeungA (21) has been a trainee for 2 years. The dream of being a singer grew starting from elementry school after winning 1st place in a singing contest. During highschool, she was on stage for a play which made her want to have a job that draws people to herself. Finally she auditioned for DSP Media and came in. She auditioned at the same time as Kara’s Gu Hara and Kang Jiyoung,

Rainbow is reciving whole hearted support from SS501. “Kim Hyungjoong bought us chicken and Park Jungmin created the song Kiss for us. Kim Gyujong, Kim Hyunjoong, and Heo Yeongsang helped us with our dance moves.” the members said with a smile.

The anticipated group Rainbow has debuted. This is the first step of becoming the group that will still be well known after 10 years, showing 1 characteristic as a whole group instead of 7 different ones, being a bright and cheerful group, and a group showing alot of humanism.
