1.	Within a matter of days since RPK latest revelation that hints the possibility the PI Bala may resurface, a damaging YouTube declaration “A video SD” appears. In the YouTube video, several key facts were revealed. Among others the name of Mr. Deepak, RM 5 million and Putrajaya was mentioned and most importantly PI Bala has stand by his first SD. The latest revelation also further reinforced the need for RPK to continue lives in hiding and appears in the shadows of the Malaysian politicians.

2.	If my memory serves me right, within days after PI Bala makes his SD public in the presence of several prominent lawyers and politician, he reappeared looking so stressed, distraught and came out with a new SD and claims that the first one is not correct. Subsequently, he vanished suddenly and rumors has been circulating since then that he was pressured in withdrawing his SD and was paid a handsome amount of money to stay away from Malaysia. My own friends in the Military Intelligence circle at that time said that he was living in Bangkok.

3.	Bala SD is crucial because it linked Najib with Althantuya. RPK in his writing about the Scorpene submarine deal linked Najib, Razak Baginda with Althantuya murder. RPK also linked Althantuya murder with Rosmah, her ADC, Lt. Kol Norhayati and his husband. At this stage, can we believe the word of this man who changed his SD twice, received RM750K from Deepak the carpet salesman?

4.	Personally, I believe RPK theory on the murder is something that cannot be discounted. In fact it is quite plausible. I cannot blame PI Bala for changing his statement. I believe he did it because he has some concern on the safety of his family more than the need to accept the money that was offered to him. At the same time RPK continue with his style of releasing information on piecemeal basis and continue to put people nerves on the edge. This whole episode is detrimental to the nation and it is putting everyone on edge.

5.	I read from another blog where it was mentioned that the police knew where bala was hiding. Apparently, during the early days after his disappearance, they interviewed him and wanted some answers from him on which is the true SD. Questions are being raised now on how is it that the police and the Military Intelligence people knew about his location and manage to interview him? Why didn’t the police catch him despite having an extradition treaty between Malaysia and Thailand? Could it be that these the so called authorities that is looking for him is the one that hide him? Could it be that that some police top brass was involved?

6.	It seems that when someone really goes into hiding, the police can never find him. They can find the people that they themselves hide? This was further supported by the fact that police are not able to locate RPK till today, a person who chose to go into hiding because he fears unfair prosecution. The latest YouTube SD revelation shows that Bala is in contact with RPK. Is there a possibility that Bala knows where RPK is hiding?

7.	With Razak Baginda issue has been settled and the two policemen (what are their names again!) sentenced, Althantuya murder case has been addressed officially. The general masses do not know how the duo looks like and speculation is rife that the infamous duo will also be let loose behind the scene.

8.	It is quite obvious that Najib did not kill Althantuya. He did not order the hit either. My gut feelings tell me he knows her. He has met her. On the depth of his relationship with her, I leave it to everyone imagination. The only reason that this particular information cannot be made official because it has serious and far reaching political consequences.

9.	Razak Baginda was the convenient vehicle for the submarine deal. In a country like Malaysia where something that cost RM1 is purchased at RM3 by the government, everyone can speculate with significant accuracy where the RM2 went. Certainly a friendly legal entity is involved. It is reasonably accurate. The murder of Althantuya certainly has something to do with the complex submarine deal.

10.	Althantuya was managed by someone behind the apex of power. Names like Musa Safri, Lt Kol Norhayati and his husband seems to be closely associated with the people at the apex. I suspect, RPK has all the evidence but is not releasing at one go. Typical to his style, he wants to ensure that there is a continuous suspense, thrill and maybe extend it to GE13. I wait for the successful prosecution of the guilty party.

Raja Petra Kamarudin has continued his campaign on the Altantuya Shaaribuu murder case, in which he has implicated Najib Tun Razak, Najib’s wife Rosmah Mansor, several army officers, and other people in high places. He posted on his Malaysia Today website yesterday a second video interview relating to the murder, in which he speaks about meeting Dr Setev Shaaribuu, father of the murdered Mongolian translator.

Raja Petra’s articles and postings about the case have resulted in prosecution for sedition and criminal defamation, with the sedition case coming up in court again on Oct 12. He has refused to attend trial.

‣ YouTube URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Lgb9wwF9Ok

This is the second video interview on the Altantuya case that Raja Petra has released.

An earlier video related to an explosive statutory declaration last year directly implicating Rosmah Mansor, wife of (now prime minister) Najib Tun Razak, and two army officers, her military ADC and the ADC’s husband.

An explanatory note accompanying this video states: “RPK explains how his statutory declaration intended for the prosecutor’s eyes only was published without his permission by those who looked to undermine its contents”.

‣ YouTube URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4yE5vv73DA

The statutory declaration was first exposed at the bigdogdotcom blog ‣ Is this statutory declaration true?, and bigdogdotcom later said “it was e mailed to me by someone whom Raja Petra trusted and personally gave him a copy of the document”.

(Bigdogdotcom’s blog carries a badge against the proposed and still-born independent police complaints commission, and promotes the blogs of Mukhriz Mahathir and the 1Malaysia website of Najib Tun Razak.)

Raja Petra, who has gone “into exile”, faces trial on a sedition charge arising from publication of an earlier article also about the Altantuya case, “Lets Send the Altantuya Murderers To Hell”, and for criminal defamation arising from publication of the statutory declaration.

He has refused to attend trial and his whereabouts are not known. The sedition case comes up in court again on Oct 12.

• Uselessly informative footnote: Although RPK posted the video yesterday, the release date is stated as 22 August. The videos are said to be produced by “C4 Production House”, a cheeky reference to the plastic explosives used to blow up Altantuya Shaaribuu. Its logo uses an image of the penguin “Tux”, the official mascot of the Linux open source operating system, with “C4″ emblazoned on its breast. The production house is “based in Afghanistan”.

The best way and no other way to describe the relationship between the Menteri Besar and the Palace was that they were in a state of war. Rahim Bakar whacked the Sultan to kingdom come and he did not care a damn what the repercussions would be.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Ex-Pahang MB Abdul Rahim Abu Bakar dies

Former Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Rahim Abu Bakar died at his home in Jalan U-Thant here at 7.10pm yesterday, believed to be due to a heart attack. He was 66.

His second child, Rosnita, 35, said her father was waiting for the azan call to break the fast when her mother Datin Rosnah Kamaruddin found him unconscious.

She said they contacted paramedics from Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre, who pronounced him dead.

“Father did not show any signs prior to his death. As far as we know, he was not suffering from any illness… his death could be due to a heart attack,” she said.

Rosnita said since all her brothers and sisters had returned home to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri, they were at their father’s side when he died.

He will be buried at the Taman Kosas Muslim Cemetery after Friday prayers today at the Kampung Pandan mosque, she said.

Meanwhile, Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister Datuk Noh Omar said Abdul Rahim’s demise was a big loss to politics in the country, especially Umno.

“I had known him when he was actively involved in Umno. I have always admired his high values and struggles towards Umno because despite coming from a poor family, he achieved tremendous success,” he said.

Abdul Rahim leaves a wife and four children — Roslina, 37, Rosnita, Mohd Rizal, 32, and Rosazreen, 25 and four grandchildren.

Abdul Rahim was born on Feb 7, 1943 in Beserah, Kuantan and started his political career as the state assemblyman for Beserah after winning the seat in the 1978 general election.

An economics graduate from Universiti Malaya, he was Pahang Menteri Besar from July 19, 1978 to Nov 7, 1981. — Reuters

*************************************************

That is what the mainstream media wrote. It is very short and, of course, just sticks to the ‘core issues’. But what the mainstream media failed to mention is that Rahim Bakar was somewhat of a loose canon who held the post of Menteri Besar of Pahang for slightly over three years.

Rahim Bakar was a most outspoken individual and the Pahang rakyat loved him. He would blast away, even in public, and there were no ’sacred cows’ as far as he was concerned. In fact, whenever there were palace spies around, Rahim Bakar would purposely raise his voice so that they could hear what he says. Then he would sit back with an amused look on his face to see the spies scurry away to report to the Pahang Sultan what Rahim Bakar just said.

The best way and no other way to describe the relationship between the Menteri Besar and the Palace was that they were in a state of war. Rahim Bakar whacked the Sultan to kingdom come and he did not care a damn what the repercussions would be.

At that time, the Prime Minister was Tun Hussein Onn, a jewel and no-nonsense of a man. He was brought up in the British tradition and acquired his discipline in the British army. Hussein Onn would not tolerate any shit and in spite of his Johor Palace links he would keep the Royal Family on a tight leash and would offer them no slack.

It was always an unwritten rule that the nine Malaysian rulers would be allowed certain ‘excesses’. For states like Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Perak, and so on, these excesses would include large tracts of timber concessions. States like Negeri Sembilan, which did not have too much timber land left, the ‘concessions’ would be in the form of pig farm licences. Why do you think they call that state Negeri Sembilan Darul Khinzir?

The Sultans would be given a certain timber ‘quota’ every year, which they are expected to use wisely. Most Sultans would have Chinese partners to work the timber concessions and for Pahang it was the infamous ‘Tengku’ Wong — who was exposed and stripped naked by no less than the Gerakan President at that time, Lim Keng Yeak.

This was back in the 1980s. Lim went before TV, and with spit splashing on the TV cameras, he lamented about ‘Tengku’ Wong, who, Lim said, is the Pahang Sultan’s business partner. Lim said that ‘Tengku’ Wong and the Sultan have ripped off the state out of hundreds of millions worth of timber. What Lim did not know was that ‘Tengku’ Wong was not just the Sultan’s partner. He was also ex-Pahang Menteri Besar Khalil Yaacob’s partner. So there were actually three parties involved.

Datuk Fauzi Rahman, the one-time Member of Parliament for Kuantan, actually made a police report on this matter some years back but until today nothing has been done about it. Instead, Fauzi was kicked out, as is the fate of all whistleblowers in Malaysia who lodge police reports or sign Statutory Declarations not favourable to those who walk in the corridors of power.

The ‘Pahang Constitutional Crisis’, if I may be permitted to call it that, started when the Pahang Sultan used up his timber concession quota super-fast. Actually, the Sultan lost it all in the casinos where he spends most of his time.

In one casino in the UK, the Sultan lost so much money, millions of Ringgit, that he could not afford to pay off his debt. Sultan or no Sultan, the casino would not allow him to leave until he paid up.

The Sultan summoned the Malaysian High Commissioner to the UK and the hapless diplomat had no choice but to get out of bed and make his way to the casino. The Sultan then made the High Commissioner guarantee the debt on behalf of the Malaysian government. Only then did the casino allow the Sultan to leave.

When the Sultan returned to Malaysia he asked for more timber concessions. But His Highness had already used up his quota for the year. So Rahim Bakar brought the matter to the attention of the Prime Minister.

Hussein Onn was still boiling mad that the Malaysian government was forced to guarantee the Sultan’s gambling debts and he put his foot down and said no more timber concession for the Sultan.

Rahim Bakar, being the loose cannon who takes no shit from anyone kind of man, told the Sultan in a not so diplomatic way to bugger off. (I just love this Rahim Bakar and when I grow up I want to be just like him).

The Sultan was pissed and he wanted Rahim Bakar sacked and declared persona non grata. (Now you know why I just love the man — we persona non gratas have to stick together).

Rahim Bakar was eventually forced to resign halfway through his term and they put an interim Menteri Besar, Rashid, to warm the seat while waiting for the next general election in a couple of month’s time.

The Sultan wanted Najib Tun Razak, an orang istana, who was then in the federal cabinet, to take over as Menteri Besar. In the 1982 general election Najib contested a state seat and went back to Pahang as the new Menteri Besar so that he can fulfil his main function of granting the Sultan all the timber concessions that His Highness wanted plus, as his secondary job, run the state administration.

Rahim Bakar was not the first Menteri Besar to fall because he refused to bow to the Sultan’s demand for timber concessions. Ghazali Jawi of Perak and Nik Hassan of Terengganu too were forced out when they refused to give their Sultans what they wanted.

Isa Samad, in a way, suffered the same fate, but he refused to grant the Negeri Sembilan ruler what His Highness wanted not based on principles but because Isa wanted it all for himself (hmm…let’s hope we meet him in this coming by-election in Bagan Pinang).

So there you have it. NST, Utusan, Bernama, Malay Mail, etc., would just report what Reuters reported above. Boring! Malaysia Today gives you the untold story. So let us honour the late Datuk Abdul Rahim Abu Bakar and one-time Pahang Menteri Besar for being the true patriot that he is. He opposed the Sultan and he paid the price. And this is what he must be remembered for, the Hang Jebat of Pahang, the Anak Pahang Tulin.

This means these two army officers were in the home of the then Deputy Prime Minister for about eight hours during the time Altantuya was supposed to have been murdered. Why they were there during those eight hours and who these two army officers are has not been revealed.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

The Malaysian government says Altantuya Shaariibuu was murdered between 10.00pm on October 19th and 1.00am on October 20th, 2006. That was the charge against Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar and that was what they were pronounced guilty of.

At 10.01pm on 19th October 2006, two unnamed army officers went to Najib Tun Razak’s house, according to log entry 6494 in the police guard book. (See log 1a and log 2a below). These same two unnamed army officers left Najib’s house at 6.05am on 20th October 2006, according to log entry 6498. (See log 1b and log 2b below).

The purpose of the visit was never clarified.

This means these two army officers were in the home of the then Deputy Prime Minister for about eight hours during the time Altantuya was supposed to have been murdered. Why they were there during those eight hours and who these two army officers are has not been revealed.

From 10.01pm the night Altantuya was murdered until 6.05am the following morning, two army officers visited the Deputy Prime Minister and/or his wife. This is certainly a most odd time to visit a Deputy Prime Minister and/or his wife in their home. And what does one do for eight hours in someone’s home during the time most people would be fast sleep?

According to Fauzi, a driver, Rosmah Mansor left the official residence of the Deputy Prime Minister in Putrajaya at 6.48am on 19th October 2006 using car registration number WLQ 11 to return to her private home in Taman Duta. The car odometer reading was 86,197. That same evening, Rosmah attended a function near the Tabung Haji building in Jalan Tun Razak in Kuala Lumpur

She did not return home until 11.20pm later that night, according to Fauzi.

The next day, 20th October 2006, Rosmah left her official residence in Putrajaya at 6.32am using the same car bearing registration number WLQ 11 to, again, return to Taman Duta. She also ran a few errands and did not return to Putrajaya until 1.01am the following morning.

The odometer reading was 86,315.

On the third day, Rosmah repeated the itinerary. She left Putrajaya at 6.40am to return to her Taman Duta home and to run some errands and did not go back to Putrajaya until 9.34pm that night. The odometer reading was 86,550.

Over three days, Rosmah travelled more than 350 kilometres to shuttle from Putrajajaya to Taman Duta, plus to some other places in between, according to the records.

I suggest the IGP investigate how these ‘officials secrets’ managed to leak out and whether the Official Secrets Act (OSA) has been breached. Or maybe the IGP would rather bury the whole issue and file it under No Further Action (NFA) to save the Prime Minister and his wife from having to answer some very embarrassing questions.

Hmm…I wonder who these two unnamed army officers are and whether they were really at the Deputy Prime Minister’s house those entire eight hours or whether they sneaked out and in again without any ‘official record’.

Ooh, I just love the OSA that protects the wrongdoer and instead sends the whistleblower to jail.

An article in The Star (Sunday Star) page N6 on 27/9/2009 is very interesting. Quote: “Any legal action taken by businessman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing against Transparency International will just remind the people that he was a major beneficiary of a huge corruption scandal,DAP publicity secretary Teresa Kok said.” Unquote.

Is Tiong the CEO of Kuala Dimensi really react to statement by TI as intimidation,in a way to protect himself or another?

Momentum says : We better believe this. This is Malaysia.Political rumor and gossips is far more trustworthy than cheap talks from some politicians and alike.Well,Ong Tea Keat is “stayed away” from PKFZ with the announcement by PM Najib to form a special Task Force, who else dares to dig more and open the file of PKFZ case to the public?

Why do you think the BN gov is so desperate to find out the insider who leaked the PKFZ financial analysis report to Raja Petra? There must be something in the report that prohibited it from revealing.Thank god Raja Petra did it.Surely there is more behind this,BN must have been doing everything it could to cover it up bcoz PKFZ involves some top UMNO partisans.

Untill now, PKFZ case seems not going to be the end of the innocence……..only if Pakatan Rakyat takes over the central gov, truth will be uncovered and there is no more hungry shark and dark hand in the administration.

A reader, Morning Dew posting from Australia, believes that Malaysia Today suffered an attack on its server in the US — and stretching the bounds of possibility, says “it is not inconceivable that Kuala Dimensi” could be behind it. He (she?) points the finger to the Internet providers, the government, and possibly even kuala dimensi. Of course it could also be possible that Indonesian hackers did so (but then they would plant an anti-Malaysia message).

But the reasons are likely to be a combination of the Port Klang Free Zone debacle, the Saiful Bukhari alleged sodomy case, and the Bagan Pinang by-election. The Barisan Nasional names its candidate on Tuesday. Nomination day is Friday. The election is in two weeks’ time. And then there’s always Dr Who, ever-present everywhere.

http://uppercaise.wordpress.com/2009/09/20/proxy-bookmarks-for-malaysia-today/

When I posted Malaysia Today site not available again I said the error messages “indicate that the server itself was down … Or possibly [under] a massive attack”. And Morning Dew seems to confirm this. His account sounds plausible to a non-technie like me, but I will leave it to technical experts to assess it.

Morning Dew, who seems technically accomplished, also reminds that the evasive measures I outlined in earlier posts would only be effective against a block by Malaysian authorities.

• Remember, if the site is down, no proxy server can help you get through. The same if the site is under attack from DOS — Denial of Service — or other means.
Set up your browser to use a proxy server

http://uppercaise.wordpress.com/2009/09/27/set-up-your-browser-to-use-a-proxy-server/

Morning Dew’s explanation of what is most likely to have happened, and what Malaysia Today could do in future:

Here in full are Morning Dew’s comment posted in a lengthy comment to Getting access to Malaysia Today. I thought it deserved to stand by itself.

“

All the above strategies will only work if it is a blockade instituted by the authorities. What MT is experiencing is actually a denial of service attack. The first wave of attack I had noted that it wasn’t the blockade and had actually presented what I had found out. Unfortunately MT team refused to publish my comments and even blocked subsequent comments. The blockade was only working for a short while and when I by-passed the blockade I notice the error messages were coming through from MT’s own proxy server. It was either slapped with an injunction or the server was hacked.

Recent inaccessibility has very strange error messages from the proxy. This led me to believe that there was page substitution –- one of those man in the middle attack. Or the MT’s proxy had been planted with a backdoor. The hacker can go in and out anytime he/she wanted to.

I had also noticed that there was a lot of “reset” messages. This is basic harassment by a man in the middle attack. Such a person can only be there if he/she had access to the gateway. This meant ISP or the recent centralised security gateway launched by Abdullah badawi. Every time a message was requested it would just send a reset signal to the server and the server would drop the whole process. This strategy is very simple and a simple script can create a lot of havoc. But must have access to gateways. This is where the smoking gun can be found. Reset signal also received when proxy was used. A lot of proxyies don’t encrypt the request so it is in the clear.

How to defeat ? Assuming that the proxy wasn’t violated some things that could be done :

a. Use distributed database. When yahoo was first attacked it finally decided to distribute its databases all over the world. The databases update each other. When one is attacked others are still around.

b. Use peep-to-peer distribution. Commenting would have to be switched off but at least the messages get through.

c. Use subscription based service. Denial of service could be thwarted at the login-phase. This is not good as what we want is to distribute the messages as widely as possible. \

d. Let messages be hosted by as many bloggers as possible – with the appropriate copyrights and attribution notices. Comments would be limited to letter to editor. No running commentary.

e. MT had already suggested RSS. RSS port and MT ip could be used as a criteria to block it as well if the government chooses to do so. Again distributed database or peer-to-peer distribution would defeat this blockade.

f. Start a PUBLIC newsgroup. The feed will again be from multiple sources.

Some of the suggestions above may look as if it would prevent or reduce the revenue stream of MT but this is false. All ads could be distributed with the main content.

Who are the most likely culprit doing all these ? If it is “reseting” of access then the ISPs are involved or perhaps a tech head inside is involved probably bribed to do the evil bidding of others. It is not inconceivable that Kuala dimensi MAY have a hand in it.

If the proxy server of MT had been hacked then it could involved the government or kuala dimensi. They could have hired some “dickhead” to do it. Squid proxy server used by MT is a public domain proxy server and its strength and weaknesses are well documented.

If it is denial of service, which I believe it is not, then you will require a large number of machines doing it at the same time. The attack can’t be sustained. Who has access to large number of machines ? Government. Or large number of machines had been infected by a particular virus that just target MT server as was the case with yahoo some time back.

DOS will also cause the server to send reset signal when the buffer overflow due to excessive number of requests. If MT team were to look at the log they will know if it was DOS by flooding the website or a man in the middle attack was going on.

”

Just some thoughts. Now don’t shoot the messenger.

A proxy server is an anonymous computer somewhere that will fetch web pages for you, so that your identity or origin is not known to the site visited. This is useful for many purposes, among them visiting Malaysia Today and especially for posting comments there. Here’s a basic guide. Use this only if you are fairly confident of your computer skills.

• Remember, if the site is down, or hacked or attacked, no proxy server can help you get through. This is what seems to be happening to Malaysia Today recently, of combination attacks of blocks, hacking and DOS — Denial of Service — or other means.

http://uppercaise.wordpress.com/2009/09/20/proxy-bookmarks-for-malaysia-today/

Set up your browser to call a proxy server.

‣ This requires tinkering with your browser Preferences. (Side-effects: Google will think you are in France or China or wherever the proxy server is and send you pages in that country’s language. Just search by loading google.com.my or google.com)

• First, visit Proxy4free. This is a list of anonymous proxy servers around the world. You can check the Whois link at the right, to get the details of each server, in case you are nervous.

• Choose one of the servers. Copy the IP number from the far left column. For example,
94.23.16.156
Look at the “Port” number in the second left column
3128
and remember it.

• Firefox settings Go to your browser’s Preferences. Click “Advanced” on the main row of buttons, then click “Network” on the second row of tabs. Click on “Settings”.

• Click the button for “manual proxy configuration”. In the box for “HTTP proxy”, paste [Control V] the IP number you had earlier copied [Control C].

• In the box for “Port”, type in the number you had earlier memorised. Or just click “OK”, then “Close”, go to the free proxy page again and copy the port number. Open the preferences again and get to the “port” box and paste.

• Click “OK”, then “Close”. After this, your browser will send all Internet requests to the proxy server, which will then fetch the page for you.

(If you have any problems, remove all proxy settings — Go to preferences, Advanced, Network, Settings, and click “No proxy”. Then click “OK” and “Close” and your browser will go back to its usual behaviour.)

• Again, remember that if the site is down or hacked or under attack, no proxy server can help you get through. Attacks can be made by DOS — Denial of Service — or other means.

Right-click on the logo or link and bookmark as a “Live Bookmark” (in Firefox) and make sure the properties are set for automatic updates. Or left-click as a bookmark.

‣ I have a page at How to access Malaysia Today by proxy to beat the block that contains links to the secret Cabinet papers that Malaysia Today published.

‣ Also check National Express blog, where some of Raja Petra’s articles are reproduced.

‣ Use OpenDNS for your modem or router. This requires tinkering with your network properties. Follow the » instructions at Webmonkey. If you already know your network properties or modem/router properties, the OpenDNS servers are: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

‣ Use an online anonymous proxy service. It hides your IP from any site you visit. Go to one of these sites below, look for the URL box and type in Malaysia Today’s website address » http://mt.m2day.org/2008/ «

• Short live links and full URLs to Malaysia Today front page, and to the secret Cabinet pages are available at How to access Malaysia Today by proxy to beat the block mentioned above.

• Please remember no proxy server can get through either, if Malaysia Today is hacked, or under attack, or if the server is down for maintenance. The proxy servers are just a way to get around blocks at Internet providers, and to provide you privacy when you visit Malaysia Today or if you want to make a comment there.

‣ Another way is to set up your browser so that it always calls up a proxy server. The proxy server will then call and fetch web pages for you, masking your origin and your destination. Use this only if you are confident of your computer skills.

Here is a summary of what Raja Petra’s site contained yesterday (Friday 25 Sept 2009). The most controversial and provocative as usual are his own postings; one is of the Saiful Bukhari case, the other is a set of four videos from the DAP video channel at YouTube, about Lim Kit Siang’s speech in Parliament regarding Raja Petra and the Altantuya Shaaribuu case.

The Saiful article goes like this:

‣ Melayu mudah lupa, said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad
So let Malaysia Today remind all those Malays, Chinese, Indians and ‘lain-lain’ in case they mudah lupa who to vote for this coming by-election in Bagan Pinang. In Islam, a false allegation of sexual misconduct is a mother of sins and such people need to be flogged kau-kau like a cow. Let the Muslims of Bagan Pinang never forget this.

This is accompanied by a reproduction of the Bar Council press statement of July 2008 about the alleged sodomy incident and the alleged victim Saiful Bukhari:

Very troubling reports have been published, which reveal the existence of a medical report of an examination done by a doctor on Mohd Saiful Bukhari bin Azlan a few hours before Saiful lodged a police report that he had been sodomised. The medical report apparently shows that there is no evidence that he had been sodomised by anyone.”

‣ National Express has reproduced Raja Petra’s article
‣ http://national-express-malaysia.blogspot.com/2009/09/melayu-mudah-lupa-said-tun-dr-mahathir.html

Raja Petra also published links to four videos at the DAP’s video channel at YouTube. These were of:

All seems to be well for Malaysia Today and its editor-in-exile Raja Petra Kamaruddin. The Malaysian government said on Sunday it is going after the leaker and not the publisher.

This would leave RPK and his site in the clear, for the moment, after publishing three leaked secret Cabinet papers showing the full extent of government knowledge and involvement in the RM12bil Port Klang Free Zone debacle.

Following the government announcement on Sunday, full access to Malaysia Today appeared to have been restored beginning late on Sunday evening.

There have been six days of interruptions in Internet access and blocks which left many Malaysians, especially Streamyx users, unable to view the site. At up to noon Monday, there was continuing unimpeded access via Streamyx.

‣ Cabinet secret papers exposed
‣ Problems at RPK’s site after exposé
‣ Govt admits RPK revealed secrets
‣ Full block on Malaysia Today?
‣ How to beat the blocks

Despite the interruptions, which amounted to a full block at times, news updates have been posted on the site, although the site’s home page looks unchanged since access was interrupted. There has yet been no official comment from the authorities about the obvious action taken against Malaysia Today.

The government announcement on Sunday came from the home minister who said that no immediate action would be taken against “who was responsible for making them public”.

The investigation would focus on where the leak took place, and even cabinet ministers could be investigated, home minister Hishammuddin Hussein said.

Hishammuddin said since the papers were classified, the person responsible for the leak would have to be “someone on the inside” and as such would have to face action.

His response indicated that, for the moment, no action would be taken against Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin or the web site.

Raja Petra last week published images of three memorandums to the Cabinet, all relating to the RM12mil Port Klang Free Zone debacle. He also released video interviews of him, one relating to the Altantunya Shaaribuu murder scandal which has implicated Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, and in which a close aide was charged then acquitted of the young Mongolian woman’s murder.

Internet disruptions to Malaysia Today began almost immediately after the first images were published on Tuesday; by Friday, it appeared a full block had been put in place, at least in the daytime. Some Internet providers were allowing access after 6pm.

Opposition leaders such as DAP strongman Lim Kit Siang and many bloggers vehemently criticised the blocks and accused the Malaysian government of once again shooting the messenger and ignoring the message.

However, the latest government response from the home minister seems to preclude any further action against Raja Petra or Malaysia Today.

Hishammuddin said since the papers were classified, the person responsible for the leak would have to be “someone on the inside” and as such would have to face action. …

“The papers were leaked before they were even discussed in cabinet and there is a possibility that they may not even have been discussed but leaking the papers has compromised the cabinet.

“I have told the police to conduct an all out and thorough investigation and investigate even ministers if they are suspected to be involved,” he told reporters on Sunday.

Probe into leaked Cabinet paper to narrow on place where it happened
The Star Online

Raja Petra’s readers will now be awaiting further disclosures from the controversial editor, who has been a thorn in the flesh of successive Malaysian governments; the government has reacted strongly, bringing prosecution under the Sedition Act, and detention under the notorious Internal Security Act, from which he was freed on a writ of habeas corpus, much to the surprise of observers.

He faces continuing prosecution on sedition charges but has refused to turn up for trial and has gone “into exile”. His whereabouts are not known and although the police initially stated that he had fled to Brisbane, Australia, they have recently admitted that he has remained in Malaysia.

How to get around blocks on Malaysia Today. Five links to proxy servers that have worked. Your luck may vary.
20Sep2009:22:00

The block on access to Malaysia Today, now in its fourth day, appears to have reached all Malaysian ISPs Sunday. Action may have been taken on the site itself. One attempt to access the site earlier today, Sunday, showed what appears to be a cached Malaysia Today home page from Thursday or Friday, stripped of comments and most sidebar elements.

Malaysia Today had been available to some Internet users from 6pm Saturday until well past midnight. However, the home page shown this morning did not have Saturday’s news items. [Update 19:00] As happened on Saturday, Malaysia Today became available roughly after 6pm.

Saturday’s home page included a pickup of my report yesterday “Govt admits RPK revealed secrets” of problems in accessing Malaysia Today. The site also carried a report from blogger Melvin Mah about the block being extended to include all private Internet providers such as wireless providers Maxis and P1.

Malaysia Today Blockade Extended to All ISPs
By Melvin Mah
Yesterday [Friday], I have mentioned that the MCMC has ordered a total block of Malaysia Today following the PKFZ leak. However, as of this time, the blockade has been extended to all other ISPs including Maxis, P1, etc.. as they found that people are able to access them outside Streamyx.

Apparently the directive was also issued to them on this matter which is starting to get out of hand.

And the police are now going for the shoot the whistleblower path, despite the fact that it is a cover up of the real mccoy.

For some reason, I managed to find out briefly that the main page of Malaysia Today has been removed no doubt by hackers. On further checks, the No Holds Barred and Corridors of Power segments have articles as prior to the expose of the PKFZ documents there. This was about an hour ago until even both segments have been blocked.

http://www.malaysiatoday.com/

The cached home page was only intermittently available; it had been stripped of all comments and most of the sidebar elements. Links from the home page led to a restricted page informing readers that only subscribers were allowed access.

Later, even the cached home page was no longer available. Instead, visitors to MalaysiaToday, whether visiting directly on its URL or via proxy, were confronted with this:

Malaysia Today has been under attack from Thursday when its editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin published images of secret Cabinet papers that exposed the extent of government involvement and full knowledge of the huge financial problems at the Port Klang Free Zone.

On Friday, the government tacitly admitted that the images of Cabinet memorandums that he had published were of government secrets and action would be taken under the Official Secrets Act.

Lawyer-activist Haris Ibrahim at People’s Parliament reported earlier this week that action might be taken against a variety of web sites:

“Had dinner with an UMNO snitch last week. He warned me this was going to happen. He said that Malaysiakini was not the real target of MCMC, but Malaysia Today, as there are people in government who are shitting bricks about what RPK is going to reveal through his series of videos starting 10th September. Also, given the all-important impending Bagan Pinang by-election, the last thing they want is RPK raking up all the dirt on the government and on UMNO. They’re looking for any excuse to justify blocking certain news portals and blogs. But if they can’t find any excuse, they’re going to do it on the quiet”.
The People’s Parliament

http://harismibrahim.wordpress.com/

Despite media inquiries, and criticism by opposition strongman Lim Kit Siang, no official word has been forthcoming on the action taken against Malaysia Today. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission rarely, if ever, admits ordering Internet providers such as Telekom Malaysia, Maxis or P1WiMax to block access.

Malaysia Today, one of Malaysia’s most popular sites for its controversial social and political content, has long been a thorn in the sides of successive administrations. Last year, the MCMC ordered all 21 ISPs to block access after Raja Petra published comments that the government viewed as seditious.

He has since been charged with sedition, but has refused to turn up for trial and has gone “into exile”. His whereabouts are not known: the police initially stated that he was in Brisbane but recently said he was still in Malaysia.

How to get around blocks on Malaysia Today. Five links to proxy servers that have worked. Your luck

How to get around blocks on Malaysia Today. Five links to proxy servers that have worked. Your luck may vary.
20Sep2009:22:00

Raja Petra’s Malaysia Today website suffered a second day of access problems Saturday, after the Federal Government tacitly admitted that he had indeed revealed Cabinet secrets, and reacted strongly by ordering a police investigation into the exposé of government documents on the controversial Port Klang Free Zone.

On Saturday, Malaysia Today’s home page was not directly available until late in the day. I finally got the home page loading directly at approximately 16:12, although access through an online proxy had been intermittently possible from about 14:30 Saturday. A mirror site « http://mt.harapanmalaysia.com/ » was also not available.

The site had similar problems the previous day, Friday, when the Prime Minister tacitly acknowledged that the documents could be genuine.

Najib said … the government was not denying the public its right to information on the PFKZ but the disclosure of the confidential paper breached the Official Secrets Act.

“Cabinet papers are classified under the OSA and it is illegal for anyone to reveal them. The police will have to look into this.”
NST Online | Cops to probe cabinet paper leak (19 September 2009)

http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/articles/20090919081039/Article/index_html

The police also tacitly admitted the papers were genuine by saying they were looking for the source of the leak.

Police have summoned several individuals to record statements on the posting of the Cabinet Paper.[The deputy IGP] said police were investigating how the Cabinet Paper which involved the Official Secrets Act (OSA) could be exposed online. “We are investigating to find out who is responsible for exposing information on the Cabinet Paper.”
Cops look for source of PKFZ paper leak

[Added at 21:00] The government action has brought stern criticism from opposition strongman Lim Kit Siang, who questioned whether access to Malaysia Today had been blocked as a result of the PKFZ revelations, and condemned the Attorney-General for not prosecuting two former ministers implicated in the PKFZ debacle.

Although Malaysia Today appears to have been blocked, the images are already available elsewhere on the Internet.
» Warga Marhaen blog reproduces RPK’s article on Tuesday, with the first set of a four-page Treasury memorandum to the Cabinet.
» National Express Malaysia blog reproduces RPK’s article on Thursday, containing the second set of an 18-page Treasury memorandum.

Both sets are marked “RAHSIA” — and Raja Petra warned readers on Tuesday, probably tongue in cheek, not to print out the images as it might render them subject to investigation.

[Added at 21:00] In addition, Raja Petra published on Wednesday the images of a four-page memorandum from Transport Minister Chan Kong Choy to then Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, accompanied with a commentary by Lim Kit Siang urging the government to bring all involved to book, and quoting former Finance Minister Daim Zainuddin as saying the PKFZ debacle provided the best opportunity to prove the government’s commitment towards eradicating corruption.

Raja Petra also accused the Cabinet directly of allowing the PKFZ disaster to happen.

What happened was exactly what the Cabinet wanted to happen. And that is why no action is being taken with regards to the RM12.5 billion disaster. It was no disaster. The Cabinet knew all along what was going on. And the Cabinet approved it.

That is why those behind the PKFZ scandal are not scared. They did not do anything wrong. They did not commit a crime. They just did what the Cabinet knew all along they were doing and with the full permission of the Cabinet.

Besides the PKFZ disclosures, Raja Petra, who has gone into self-exile, also published two videos, available on his website and at YouTube, relating to the Altantunya Shaaribuu scandal.
