After the Saturday morning rally to Gloucester, Mass, and back, MINI owners had a chance to do many things, including meeting and talking with one of the most famous Mini rally drivers from the 60s works team – Rauno Aaltonen, a brilliant person, who is still involved in motorsport and driving instruction. Here, he is seen with my friend Sharon, who drove her amazing MINI Cooper S Convertible, Checkers, up to MTTS 08 in Boston, with her husband Howard.

Sharon got several pictures with Rauno, and an autographed photo!
Others brought many souvenirs and items for autographing, as well. Attendees could also purchase a remote control Mini and get Rauno’s autograph on that, which I did, of course!

One of Rauno’s hidden talents is a photographer – he has many pictures from his days of rallying and quite an expert in the field of digital photography as well.

It’s nice how plans change, sometimes! I managed to get off from work tomorrow, a Saturday, and so my wife Merry, and I can motor up to Boston in GP 1636 this evening and enjoy the entire day tomorrow and Sunday, with the MTTS group in Boston! I’m a very happy camper now, as I thought I was not going to be able to go until Saturday night. Thank you Mike! Sorry Mark, but thank you also!

Have to get packed, recharge all batteries, then motor!
