I should have posted this last week, but Thanksgiving kind of got in the way.  I present to you the Christian Side Hug rap.  This is not a joke.  I promise.

Getting achievements that require loads of folks.  Well, they’re good for more than that, but I was able to do For the Horde! I have to tell you, I was afraid that it was just going to be a mess at first, but it went quite smoothly.  We were able to quickly and efficiently move through the cities to the leaders.  It helped that there was one healer for every four other players…

You know what else they’re good for?  Elam being online a lot.  Sunday, we talked a bit through out the morning to analyze my roadblock to hitting my Rawr projected DPS.  Aside from the obvious (that perfect conditions never exist), we discovered a mis-glyph and some gemming errors.  I attribute the first to my lack of information and the missing assumption about the way I glyphed.  The second, I attribute to lack of sleep and increase in stress.  So, what does that mean?  I’m easily cracking 4k DPS.  I’m using Skada so I don’t know which way it leans in it’s processing.  I personally believe it’s a little less optimistic than Recount, but that’s not based on anything other than speculation.

In my Rawr experiments, I’m beginning to examine the intricacy involved in using it to generate upgrade lists.  For example, it doesn’t take into account for accumulating things like set bonuses.  So, I’m going to have to re-evaluate some speculative upgrades in favor of what I know I need to get.  I think I’m still going to operate on last week’s list and pick up the elemental shoulders as that’s the biggest ilvl upgrade.  The one thing it keeps placing at the top (and is apparently pretty slick in terms of adding dps) is Reign of the Dead from Anub’arak.  I know Malamo has one, and I feel the need to follow in his foot steps… I just won’t have the EP/GP to get it when it drops.

Ok, I’m plugging in my next known upgrade and then we’ll see what it thinks I should go for next…

Never thought things would turn out this way. I didn’t exactly envision this would happen from the beginning, but damn Murphy and his Law. Okay, it wasn’t exactly poor Murphy’s fault, but the bunch of scientists who quoted him.

Now, I’m not going to say something as childish as “Two can play the game”. Because I believe in fair play. If it’s not within your mental capacity to play elaborate games, then it’ll be of no kick to me, so why should I bother? I’m out for a challenge, dammit, not a conceded success.

I guess Google can be useful, but there are times when I wish it didn’t exist.

Happy Thanksgiving! Hey Sag Zag, what’s your favorite part of Thanksgiving? My favorites are pie and mashed potatoes, although the being-out-of-state part isn’t half bad.

Aww! Cute turkey! Almost makes me want to be a vegetarian. Almost.

Important Notes:

• You need either 1 Tank uncrittable while wearing heavy frost resist (warriors work well as do Droodss.) OR 1 Tank in Full frost resist not worrying too much about the uncrittable thing and Another in Full Threat Gear.
• This is very healing intensive and if you screw up you will likely die and you will not blame the healers.
• When you hear him ROAR its time for frozen blows. This adds a metric crap ton of FROST damage to his melee attacks (thus the Frost resist wearing tank) and also pulses 4K frost damage to the entire raid every 2 seconds for its duration.
• Turn on Projected Textures so you can see the blue runes on the ground.
• Don’t EVER stand in the blue rune circles, stuff falls on them hurts you for a fair bit and sends you flying.
• When he Casts Flash Freeze get NEAR but not on a LARGE blue rune circle, when the snow falls onto it run up to the top. DO NOT JUMP!
• Casters in between casts MOVE, he stacks biting cold (like Heroic Nexus boss but much much worse) if you get three stacks you’re a corpsicle!

The Fight.

Basically I will call this a two phase phase 1 is normal attacks and the like. Phase 2 is During Frozen blows which will happen about 10 times.

Phase 1: Tanking Spanking and Snow piling???

Straight Up you will see a bunch of NPC’s Frozen in Ice Free them all with the mage usually on the right as your priority, the Boomkin further to the left as your second priority.

During this phase he will run around whacking the tank and putting rune circles on the ground that you need to stay out of. He will also freeze people in place this needs to be dispelled ASAP or biting cold will kill them.

At various Points he will cast Flash Freeze, when he does more rune Circles will appear these ones however are huge, run over to them (not on to them) and wait for snow to drop onto them at which point you will have to run on top in order to not get frozen. Remember do not jump RUN ONTO THEM.

Once the cast finishes you will need to kill the Iceblocks for people who were slow arses, once you have done that you need to proceed to DPS the boss as usual baring in Mind that while this is going on he can go into phase 2 multiple times.

Phase 2: Frozen Blows

This is the phase where your healers get tested this is the phase where your DPS can cause a wipe near instantly… The part about not standing in it? That goes frickin quadruple here the healers will be stressed as it is don’t be a scrub GTFO of bad stuff. At this point depending on whether or not you have 2 tanks you would have the one with a ton of Frost resist gear pick him up as roughly 3/4 of the damage he does to the tank here is Frost and its painful.

Also DPS DO NOT GET HIT BY THE ICEFALLS the healers are stressed as it stands be mindful and learn to play I can not stress this enough OK! People who get hit by that in this phase are almost certain to die or cause someone who should not die to bite it. Hell healers watch your feet as well also if you class can self-heal on this section and your not after Hard Mode. Then Guess what BIND THAT SHIT TO A KEY MOFO! (Pally tanks excluded please)

Also he retains all features of phase one hes just meaner.

The Jist:

Basically this is a weird DPS race vs Survival Race, your healers will fall behind each and every Frozen Blows so you need to pay attention do your DPS and not be a scrub at the same time.

Specific Notes.

If you see what looks like a spot light save it for those with large casts, they stand in it and it halves their cast time basically. Now for healers this CAN be used to make healing through Frozen Blows easier but bear in mind it will also eat your mana with a fury few would understand and so should be used with caution though if your group is not getting hit by ice falls shouldn’t really need it….

The camp fires assign a mage or boomkin (someone that casts fast to stand next to this) and your healers as it has two affects. Effect one prevents you needing to move as it keeps the biting cold debuff from hitting you while near it, effect two is when you cast a spell on Hodir from near it you stack a debuff on him increasing spell Damage taken.

The shaman Casts a Storm Cloud on someone, generally speaking if it’s a caster they should all gather around as it increases their crit damage by some crazy amount. If its cast on melee well all the melee should basically get it because yeah they just should.

The healer NPC is a bit like that scrub priest who hardly ever heals, but likely unlike most scrub priests they know where the hell their dispel button is. This helps with Hodir chaining people to the ground other than that it’s the least important NPC.

Also Tanks will be having threat issues as you get massive DPS boosts so watch your god damn agro or one hell of a verbal bitch slap.

Ok, so last night I was in on an attempt on the ToGC 25.  I -know- I under gear that version of that raid by a fair degree.  I understand that to even attempt the Beasts was probably desperation on our Fearless Leader’s part.  Knowing these things, though, doesn’t mean that I feel any less bad about contributing to Surreality not clearing the content.  Dead weight is dead.

Anyway, now that I’ve voiced that I felt bad about not contributing enough… I’ve resolved myself towards changing that.  I replaced one piece of gear with t9 gear, and I was able to change another 2 pieces out for higher ilvl items…  actually, three…  I’m not going to rest there, though.  I had to re-evaluate my other planned upgrades based on what dropped for me.

• I replaced my bracers.  Check on not needing new ones now.
• I replaced my gloves.  No more ilvl 200 crafted epics.
• I replaced my pants.  First elemental t9!  Wewt.
• I replaced my helm.  Re-imagined Onyxia helm!
• I got rid of my hit trinket!  HASTE, BABY!

So?  What does that leave me… I turned to Rawr to find out.  It wants me to get one more piece of hit gear… the Barb of Tarasque.  Who does that drop off?  The Northrend Beasts.  Then it slams me with the rest of my tier gear and upgraded versions (Read 25 man) of pieces I already have.  Ahh, what’s left then?  A trinket… you know, that dps trinket?  I really, REALLY want that.

The thing I like most about Rawr?  The upgrades make sense.   I tried doing this a few months ago BEFORE running content… just to get an idea of what to get on the off chance I got to go.  I was so overwhelmed that I just turned off and tuned out.  Now, though… I get it.  I would recommend at least using it to try and gain an understanding of upgrades for you and how you should prioritize them.

NOW!  I must warn you… if you futz about enough with the settings, you can get it to say anything.  I’m sure that I could get it to prioritize attack power gear somehow… or a metric load of MP5 gear.  So, be careful and double check what you KNOW about your mechanics vs the upgrades it says you should get.

Tay is on fire with “You You You”. We are seeing more and more of side “H” for hot! This masterpiece of near musical perfection is like a gift so near the holidays. The song starts in signature Tay Zonday style then transitions to a faster, deeper, sometimes echoing musing on love, want, desire, and longing. Barry White is gone but if Tay wished he could have overwhelmed us with a firestorm of guttural growls. Instead, he purposely emits a warm steady fire that slowly touches without burning.

The background for the video set the right tone for it’s fast pace. Hearing the song first you expect a scene similar to “Cherry Chocolate Rain”. Instead, we are left with imagery harkening to an outdoor concert. Not closed off at all but visuals full of freedom and expression.

5 Things That Make Me Angry
(off the top of my head)

1. Prejudices & discrimination against homosexuals (and anyone, in general). Because, apparently, being heterosexual is the “superior” orientation.
2. Being cussed out at & having my friendship dropped & being told I was never a friend.
3. When people don’t know their right-of-way on the road & don’t know how to drive, period.
4. Wasting time. I enjoy being productive or being lazy by choice. I don’t like being forced to do things.
5. When people call in sick… All the time! It’s like geez, either take care of yourself better or stop being so damn lazy! Nobody gets sick that much.

This was perhaps, more of a rant session… I could’ve went on & on, but that’s just a little bit too much negativity for a lovely Monday morning when I’ve had a healthy breakfast, finished reading the first act of A Doll House & just got asked to meet up at In & Out before doing a retail setup at work (from 9:30 til midnight!) Free grilled cheese & neopolitan milkshake?? Life is good.

Ashton Kutcher will bridge the gap quite nicely. I cannot possibly conceive that their is a person on the entire planet who does not find him attractive. He is probably one of the the most perfect human beings alive. EXCEPT for the Twittering. Goddamn, if only he would stop Twittering. He’s on this list because he had a new movie come out recently & I’ve seen the previews & he’s still got it. I would watch a channel that was purely Ashton Kutcher movies (& re-runs of That 70’s Show, so I can drool over Kelso & Hyde together, as it was meant to be). Someone should make that channel. Even if you may have to mute it every once in awhile.

The term “Eye Candy” was probably invented to describe Ashton Kutcher.

Proof that you can be beautiful even past your twenties…I’ve always envied Jennifer’s beach-y carefree style and tanned skin, and Courtney Cox pulls off the dark hair/pale skin/blue eyes combo exceptionally. I can only hope I age as well as these two ladies have!

I don’t really care for many actresses, honestly (most of the girls I find crush-worthy are not “conventional” enough to be actresses/models), but I will watch anything these two have been in (except Marley & Me, because I know someone who will cry during it). I even owned Along Came Polly at one point in time. I’ve been watching Cougar Town secretly on Hulu. It makes me even happier knowing they are friends in real life, since they played such great ones on TV. Now if only they were my friends…to take me shopping, of course!  : )

I absolutely love, love, love me some Bradley Cooper. He’s the one I wish I could have kept all to myself, because I’ve had a crush on him for a God-awful long time. Anthony Bourdain introduced us, indirectly, of course. I read Bourdain’s book, Kitchen Confidential and then discovered there was a TV show that had been made based on the book. Bradley Cooper played the chef. It was fantastic. There were only 13 episodes. I was crushed. You can watch the whole series on hulu.com, though, if you’d like. To me, he reached the pinnacle of his hotness when he was all scruffy in The Hangover, but he also makes a pretty hot chef if you prefer your men a little more cleaned up:

How could he not be my #1 celebrity crush? Damn. I mean, I did say some nice things about Ashton Kutcher earlier, but Bruce Willis is the one person that you should NEVER EVER EVER let get away. Not even for Ashton Kutcher. Bad trade, Demi.

1991-2000 were probably his best years, as far as movie making goes, in my opinion (Pulp Fiction, 12 Monkeys, The Last Boyscout, The Jackal, The Fifth Element, Armageddon, The Whole Nine Yards, two more Die Hard sequels…). You should trust me too, I’m like a Bruce Willis expert. A couple summers ago I sat down with the intention to watch EVERY Bruce Willis movie ever made. I got pretty far. I even watched Death Becomes Her. It was AWFUL. But I’ll admit…I did somewhat enjoy Perfect Stranger. Even though it was a bad movie, he’s just that sexy.

What is attractive about him? Well, there’s the fact that he’s the biggest bad-ass on the planet. He played motherfucking John McClane. He rips bullets out of his own chest. He’s the quintessential American action hero. Also, he’s like the most masculine man ever put on the face of the earth. And then there is his voice…which gives me shivers. Most importantly, I can’t explain it, but his face is perfect. I think it has something to do with his eyes:

Seriously, though, Bruce Willis is probably the greatest man ever.  You would want him on your side in a bar fight. You’d want to go to a basketball game and get smashed with him. You’d want to be that French girl in Pulp Fiction, because, well, you get to see Bruce Willis shower. Etc…Plus, you can assume he is pretty much game for anything (wink wink) after the “bondage” photo shoot he did with his model wife for W (It’s odd, I did not like it–but again, he’s willing to do weird stuff. And that is awesome).

Eek, landed myself in yet another tutoring job recently, and it annoys me. Okay, I get annoyed really easily, but that’s because I find it hard to accept things if they’re not done MY WAY (reminds me of the comic strip published in the papers some time ago). Thing is, if I am as effective (or even more effective), then I don’t see why not.

It wasn’t what I had expected (note: surprises are stupid, unless they’re good ones, but it takes away the surprise element if you know it’s good). It’s in a freaking tuition center. I had expected home-based.

When I first got there, I was a little hesitant, so the woman tried to reassure me that it’s no different from home-based tuition except for the location. Oh, and someone staring down my neck constantly. It’s rather uncomfortable. Not that kind of oh-is-my-hair-messy kind of uncomfortable, but the why-are-you-spying-on-me kind.

The agent referred me to her, and he thought she’s the parent of the kid I’m tutoring. Hmm. He probably told her my grades, and she confirmed it with me again, so when I got there, she asked if I brought along my certificates, and I was like, what? Why should I lie about my grades? I guess she has to explain things clearly to the real parents of the kid.

The kid herself isn’t too bad, but that woman!

Oh, and since I’m only trying out, she said that if I wanted to quit, I’ll have to tell her directly and not the student. She claims that she’d deal with it in a “tactful manner” (meaning to say, I’m incapable of doing so myself). And I can’t even liaise with the student directly, which is ugh! So if I want to change the time slot, I’ll have to message that woman, who would then message the student, and then message me back. It’s redundant.

And the thing I can’t stand the most is that she tells me how to teach. No one orders me around! And it’s not as if I don’t know how to! Not that her teaching methods are that great anyway. I overheard her teaching some primary school kids on antonyms. “You are tall but you are short.” Then I was like, what the fuck, no wonder the kids couldn’t answer her properly. Even I could have taught them better.

She was like, you do this this this, draw diagrams so that she’ll understand better blahblahblah. This is of course, assuming that the student learns visually, and what if that’s not the case? I mean, I’m not too visual a person myself. And if she hasn’t taught the student before, who is she to decide the way in which I’m supposed teach? Sure, visual aids are helpful in teaching primary school kids, but we ain’t talking about kids here. You don’t feed baby food to a teenager (unless he or she has a fetish for it).

I’m probably going to quit. I can’t stand her. And she’s freaking short, so I have to look down on her when I try to talk to her. Well, if you’re short, you’re not tall!
