This version is deeply redesigned by japan branch of Six Apart ltd and promises lots of new rich features. In this Releaase Candidat 1 were added new simple theme called “pico”:

Bugs mais irritantes

Note, se você quiser testar o LiveCD em uma máquina sem unidade de CD-ROM, você pode copiá-lo para um pendrive USB com o seguinte comando:

Visto che la distro per ora non ha dato problemi almeno sul mio pc e tutti i bugs conosciuti sono stati corretti (siete comunque invitati a segnalarne altri se ne trovate) si può nominare la nuova versione come RC1. Ecco le ultime novità (sicure e non)

BUGFIX:

verrà come già anticipato aggiunto il pacchetto update-notifier che consentirà l’aggiornamento automatico del sistema (ora non possibile). inoltre finalmente si è riusciti a impostare lo sfondo e il tema per Metacity come predefiniti. Si è ancora al lavoro per cercare di far partire Cairo all’avvio (ringrazio Marco Summo per avermi aiutato a risolvere questi problemi)

AGGIUNTE E RIMOZIONI DI PACCHETTI:

novità proposte anche qui. Alla nuova versione verranno tolti xpaint (Ho visto che Gimp è abbastanza valido e user-friendly da soppiantarlo) ed ekiga, il software VOIP che usa il protocollo SIP. Al loro posto verranno aggiunti envyng-gtk che consentirà di fornire una GUI allo script envyng  e il programma di modellazione Wings 3D che ha una GUI più facile di blender e sarebbe molto utile per lavorare con maggiore facilità sulle mesh prima di importarle in quest’ultimo programma per eseguire animazioni o modellazioni più avanzate. La velocità ho visto è un’altro fattore a favore dell’uso di questo programma.

Ora se il menù vi gusta…non vi resta che attendere che la distro sia su megaupload per procedere al download!

OpenOffice hat den ersten Release Candidate von der Version 3.1.1 fertig gestellt. Es wurden hauptsächlich Fehler behoben. Die fertige Versione von 3.1.1 hat OpenOffice.org für den 27.August 2009 angesetzt.

In vielen Artikeln im Internet ließt man es ja immer wieder: noch dieses Jahr soll das neue Windows herauskommen und das vielbesungene und schließlich abgefrackte Windows Vista ablösen. In diesem Zuge habe ich mir mal den aktuellen Release Candidate vom Microsoft TechNet runtergezogen und gebrannt, in froher Erwartung, was denn nun wohl kommen mag, denn das neue Windows ist um einiges Anders als das gute alte XP.

Testumgebung war übrigens ein AMD Sempron 3000+ mit 2 GB Arbeitsspeicher und einer simplen ATI Radeon HD 2600 Grafikkarte.

Um es kurz vorneweg zu nehmen: Ich habe noch nie Windows Vista besessen, noch habe ich damit gearbeitet, weshalb für mich einige Dinge, die bereits in Vista enthalten waren, trotzdem noch absolut neu sind.

Ich hab mir dann eine zweite Festplatte reingehauen und die DVD eingelegt und hab das ganze dann mal gestartet. Und der erste Eindruck war schonmal positiv: Das neue Setup ist sehr viel einfacher zu bedienen als beispielsweise noch unter XP. Alle Festplatten sind nun in einem Dialog dargestellt, wo man direkt auswählen kann. Ebenso werden gleich Informationen zum entsprechenden Datenträger angezeigt. Auch das Partitionieren und das Formatieren waren sehr schnell erledigt. Dann hat er ungefähr zwanzig Minuten herumgerödelt und Dateien kopiert, bis ich schließlich einfach nur noch nach einem gewünschten Benutzernamen und Passwort sowie dem Namen des Computers gefragt wurde und… das war’s dann auch schon. Vor mir erstrahlte eine gläsern-blaue Taskleiste mit einem Startknubbel auf einem strahlend blauen Desktop mit einem Fisch als Motiv. Das ging ja supereinfach!

Dann allerdings ging es los. Da ich in der Firma mit zwei Monitoren arbeite, und der eine der primäre und der andere der Sekundäre Monitor ist (sollte ja klar sein), kam Windows 7 ein wenig durcheinander und hat die beiden vertauscht. Naja, kein Problem das umzustellen – dachte ich zumindest, denn der bisher gewohnte Anzeigedialog, der erscheint wenn ich mit Rechtsklick auf Desktop und dann auf Eigenschaften gehe sah total anders aus und war auch total anders aufgebaut – und enthielt gar nicht mehr die Funktionen, die ich suchte. Also hab ich erstmal die Systemsteuerung (die nun ebenfalls komplett anders aussieht) durchforsten müssen, um die Einstellungen zu den Monitoren zu finden… Das war also mein erster Gehversuch mit dem neuen Betriebssystem und ich kam mir vor wie ein Anfänger…

Der nächste Schritt war, das Dingens ins Netzwerk zu bringen. Schließlich will man ja auch mal ins Internet gehen oder auf Netzwerkressourcen zugreifen. Auch das war ein wenig ungewohnt, da man zuerst einmal eine bunte Übersicht des Netzwerks bekommt. Die Einstellungen zu IP und DHCP und Proxy sind allerdings nach wie vor die selben, nämlich versteckt unter den Eigenschaften der Netzwerkverbindung, dort wiederum in der Übersicht unter TCP/IP (wobei der Punkt umbebannt wurde)…  Aufgefallen hierbei ist mir, dass er auch gleich eine Eingabemöglichkeit für IPv6 aufgelistet hatte, denn das fehler bei XP bisher.

Naja, aber mit ein wenig dran herumgespiele hab ich dann schließlich den Einstieg in das nagelneue Betriebssystem gefunden und muss sagen, dass da einige Dinge drin sind, die ich sehr intuitiv finde und die ich bei XP irgendwie fast schon vermisse, weil sie das Leben einfach ein wenig erleichtern. Das fängt schonmal bei so Kleinigkeiten wie der Navigation in der Adressleiste eines Fensters an und geht bis hin zur Dokumentenverwaltung der einzelnen Applikation in der Taskleiste (siehe Screenshots)

Und natürlich wurden auch einige der in Windows integrierten Applikationen überarbeitet. So erstrahlt beispielsweise Paint und WordPad in neuem Glanze und wurden an die Ribbon-Oberfläche, bekannt aus Office 2007, angepasst. Und der Windows-Taschenrechner beherrscht nun tatsächlich auch wirklich wissenschaftlichen Kram

Ob dies nun allerdings so viel Sinn machte? Naja gut, bei WordPad sind einige nette Eigenschaften eingeflossen, vor allen Dingen kann es jetzt auch mit OpenDocument umgehen. Ob allerdings Paint einen Ribbon gebraucht hätte?

Und natürlich gibt es auch ein paar neue Gimmiks, die ich zum Teil sehr nett finde wie beispielsweise dieses Notizzettelprogramm, wo man bunte Zettelchen überall auf dem Bildschirm verteilen kann, oder aber auch die Widgets oder Gadgets oder wie die nun auch immer heisen mögen. Bei dem Mathe-Tool allerdings bin ich mir nicht so sicher, ob ich das jemald brauchen würde… Naja.

Soweit kann ich schonmal sagen, dass der erste Eindruck wirklich sehr positiv ausgefallen ist. Windows 7 lässt sich (wenn man sich mal dran gewöhnt hat) sehr einfach bedienen und kann mit ein paar netten Features aufwarten. Auch läuft es sehr stabil und ist auch vom Ressourcenverbrauch her trotz eingeschalteter Aero-Oberfläche mitsamt Glas und Maus- und Fensterschattenziemlich genügsam (es startet sogar schneller als das XP auf dem gleichen Rechner).

Auf meinem Heim-PC würde es zwar vermutlich nicht laufen, dazu ist die Kiste zu alt, aber in der Firma könnte ich mir das Betriebssystem durchaus vorstellen.

Noch ein kleiner Nachtrag…

Laut einem Artikel auf heise.de muss ja nun Microsoft eine Auswahl an Browsern anbieten, so dass auch Konkurrenzprodukte zu Internet-Explorer eine Chance haben. Eine Auswahl fand ich glücklicherweise jedoch nicht, denn dieses Browser-Hick-Hack finde ich ehrlich gesagt kindisch!

It is the world’s second most popular web server only after the Apache HTTP Server. The servers provide services for File Transfer Protocol, SMTP for e-mail and HTTP/HTTPS for web server. In this article we will explain you how to install The Microsoft IIS Webserver on your computer. The IIS Server is NOT available for Microsoft Windows 7 Home edition as they say the Home edition was not meant for networking. So you must have the Proffessional edition or the Ultimate edition of Windows 7 installed on your computer for installing the IIS Webserver. You will also be needing the Windows 7 DVD during this install. Now, Follow the steps below:

1. Place the Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Proffessional DVD into your DVD-Rom Drive.

2. Goto Start > Control Panel > Programs

3. From the dialog box that opens, click on Turn Windows features on or off

4. This brings another dialog box that contains a list many Windows related services

5. Check the box for ‘Internet Information Services (IIS)‘ leaving all the default installation settings intact. If you would like to install additional services, then expand each option and select them.

6. Once IIS is installed on your machine you can view your home page in a web browser by typing ‘http://localhost’ (you can substitute ‘localhost’ for the name of your computer) into the address bar of your web browser. If you have not placed your web site into the default directory you should now be looking at the IIS documentation.

7. Service and Configuration management for your IIS web server

Ya se encuentra entre nosotros el nuevo kernel 2.6.31 rc1, trae bastante cambios Aqui la lista completa.

Al parecer esta versión va soportar USB 3.0, gran avance, aunque no va a servir de mucho por que no hay dispositivos todavía en el mercado, y no creo que salgan hasta que haya drivers para Windows, pero por lo menos podemos presumir ser los primeros en tener el soporte jeje.

La mala noticia es que solo esta disponible para arquitecturas de 64 bits, asi que ya valio para mi computadora tendre que esperar para probarlo.

What’s up with Windows?

Windows 7’s (beta) installation was solid and easy, and finished within nearly an hour. One of the first things you realize is the impressive clean and pure feel. There’s also a load of new features. It also doesn’t have that annoying lag which Vista just about associates with anything. It’s also good for first time Windows users, as it is easy to use and read.

Other than that feel I just talked about and the ‘fish’ background, you’ll probably notice the taskbar at first too. It’s fatter and bigger; it also views programs a lot more easily and has quick previews. Its icons ‘sit in’ the taskbar and they look much more futuristic. Microsoft has also added in jump lists, so you can get to useful and handy info (such as recent Microsoft Word documents).

Device management has also improved measurably. You have one single screen to control hardware, instead of multiple pages. It also has a new handy feature known as HomeGroup. HomeGroup helps you set up home networks, share files and printers and connect to wireless networks. Much easier then before, and much less confusing too!

There’s also actually a lot of different types of Windows 7.

Windows 7 Starter

This is the most simplest version, but it’s unlikely you’re going to use this.

Windows 7 Home Basic

There won’t be a retail version for this, so don’t bother searching…

Windows 7 Home Premium

This is the default version and ‘normal’ version. It comes with most of the features.

Windows 7 Professional

This has everything Home Premium has, but it’s got extra booty such as presentation mode, remote desktop(s), advanced printing, backup options and data encryption.

Windows 7 Enterprise

Made for businesses… large company businesses. You’re only going to want this if you’re going to install it on a few hundred computers. Has extra stuff like booting from a virtual drive and a Bitlocker drive encryption, everything else is the same as Windows 7 Pro.

Windows 7 Ultimate

It’s got everything Enterprise has but this is a rare product, so you won’t be able to walk into a retail shop and buy one. It will be offered as an upgrade to other versions.

How will this affect gamers?

Windows 7 has been tweaked around and it’s meant to improve performance. This is good for all you Vista users, because games usually run slower under Vista than XP. Programs load faster and the lag is less than Vista’s when you have about 20 programs opened at the same time.

However, Windows 7 can’t stably run two GTX 295s in SLI (what a shame ;( ). Instead, you’ll have to run it singularly. There is only a small increase of performance. It had decent improvements in Far Cry 2, containing a few more frames per second but it didn’t have more in Crysis.

Windows 7 is also going to be used as one of the platforms for Direct X 11. There aren’t many GPUs which can run DX11 yet. It’s also going to be released on Vista (but who’s going to use Vista when there’s Windows 7?)

The extras in DX11? There’s tessellation, Computer Shading and multi-threading.

Tessellation is the process where games (or graphics) are made up of triangles. The more triangles, then the better detailed. This’ll help quality and graphics.

Multi-threading allows games to have better advantage of multiple CPU cores for video hardware, API and games.

Computer Shader allows programs to directly access the GPU shader pipeline for general computing. This’ll help game designers (for physics calculations) and a lot simpler for programmers to write software.

So what’s probably gonna happen next? All the Windows so far all have the same style and ‘architecture’ as Windows 98. Apparently, Microsoft had released some news about a new OS called Midori. We don’t know a lot about Midori yet, but it’s different to Windows (so they (always) say…). It’ll use x86 hardware but the thing is you’re not going to be able to own it! It doesn’t have an official release date yet.

Jetzt möchte ich Euch wie versprochen von meinen Erfahrungen mit
dem RC1 von Windows 7 Ultimate auf meinem MacBook berichten.

Am Anfang steht dabei immer der Download von Windows 7 Ultimate,
zu finden natürlich auf http://www.windows.de
Je nach DSL Verbindung dauert der Download ein wenig, 2,84 GB,
ein ISO Image File.
Den brennt man dann einfach auf einen DVD Rohling,
natürlich unter Windows mit der entsprechenden Software,
mit dem Mac geht es leichter, einfach das Festplattendienstprogramm öffnen,
die ISO Datei wählen, auf Brennen klicken, Rohling rein, warten, fertig!

Hab dann mit dem Boot Camp Assistenten die Festplatte von meinem MacBook
partitioniert, und damit begonnen, Windows zu installieren,
lief alles ohne Probleme, wie man hier sehen kann:

Eine Verbindung zum Internet konnte ich nach der Installtion
problemlos herstellen, WLan wurde erkannt,
und nach dem ersten Windows Update funktionierte auch
die Grafikkarte von Nvidia mit der richtigen Auflösung.
Als ich jedoch versucht habe, die Mac OS Leopard CD
mit den weiteren nötigen Treibern für Windows zu nutzen,
ging dies leider nicht, es kam zum Fehlercode 2229.
Ist halt nur für XP und Vista optimiert.
Also habe ich die CD “von Hand” geöffnet
und die nötigen Treiber manuell installiert.
Und siehe da, Sound und alle sonstigen nötigen Treiber laufen.

Aber…..

Das Trackpad aus Gals funktioniert zwar,
aber ist doch recht ungenau, wie ich finde,
die 2 Finger Scroll-Funktion wird nicht unterstützt,
einen Rechtsklick gibt es auch nicht.

Was mich außerdem ein wenig stört,
sind die seltsamen Desktophintergründe, die Windows zu bieten hat,
aber seht selbst:

Und die anderen sind zwar auch so in der Art,
dafür gibt es aber dann auch immerhin noch die Einfarbigen.

Und dann habe ich mal stumpf angefangen, zu installieren,
FullTiltPoker, Microsoft Flightsimulator 10 usw.,
läuft alles schnell und stabil.
Auch mein Web&Walk Stick läuft einwandfrei,
das war bei der Betaversion noch anders,
da konnte ich nämlich nicht über den Stick online gehen.

Fazit:

Ich bin zufrieden mit Windows 7 Ultimate auf meinem MacBook,
mal abwarten, wie es sich weiterhin “benimmt”,
ich werde Euch auf dem Laufenden halten.
