Motivation

I’ve switched from RCS to GIT as the VCS for my personal math and physics play latex source. I am currently using github to host all this stuff, and while this means that everybody has access to my sources (even drafts), I don’t really mind too much. Since there are not many that read even the final versions of this play math, this draft state is likely of even less interest.

Having done this and learned some GIT basics, I have also made the somewhat curious choice of using this VCS to host my personal internal scripts at work. I have many of these scripts checked into our clearcase repository which gives me access on all our development machines, so why would I use GIT?

The why is because it is easy. It is a bit of a pain to make quick and hacky changes to things that I have checked into clearcase. I have to open and accept a defect, merge and checkin my branch, and wait for the cronjob for our tools snapshot view to kick in and reload any changes I’ve made.

This inconvience is enough that I’ve gradually ended up with a hodge podge mix of some things in clearcase, some things on local file systems, some on our “deprecated” lab AFS (distributed filesystem), and some on NFS. I got a bit tired of this, and am now migrating all my private scripts and junk to git uniformly. This gives me the benefit of version control, while retaining the ease of modification that I have with purely local files. Because all GIT repository copies are all just as good as the other, I also have no dependency on flaky NFS servers.

Unlike my personal stuff I am obviously not using a public github hosted repository for work related stuff, but all I need is ssh keys available on my development machines to host things internally on any number of potential locations. I can push and pull local changes on any specific machine that I happen to be working with at the time with a –bare repository on an arbitrarily elected “repo server”. If that machine goes down any of the other recently used versions of my repository on some other machine can function as the master (either temporarily or permanently).

Setup a local repository

Getting started is pretty easy. Something like this will do the trick to get yourself an initial repository

$ mkdir myjunk
$ cd myjunk
$ git init

You’ve now got a git repo with nothing in it. Supposing you’ve already got a crapload of stuff that you want under version control in directory ~/stuff, do the following

$ cp -a ~/stuff .
$ find stuff | xargs git add
$ git commit -a

The add tells the git repository about the file, directory or symlinks that you’ve copied into your repository. This is just a placeholder for the object and the ‘git commit’ actually creates it. If your intention was to sync this with a master (perhaps public like github) repository then nobody else will see it yet. If you were to, say, loose your harddrive at this point without backup, then even commited are toast because they haven’t been synced up (pushed) with anybody else.

One of the reasons I like using RCS is that it is really easy. You can get away with just a couple commands (‘co -l’, or ‘ci -l’ and rcsdiff). Git is actually easier. Once you’ve got a git repository directory created, checkout is implicit, so you just have to edit. ‘git commit filename’, or ‘git commit -a’ is the checkout and checkin equivalent, much like a ‘ci -l’ in RCS.

Setup a master repository

If your aim, like mine, is to share stuff across multiple machines, then you’ll want a separate master copy of the repository in addition to the working version you started with. This version will be different, in that it houses only the VCS meta and raw data, and has no visible directory structure. Such a master repository can be created with ‘git init –bare’, but we can also create it as a copy directly with something like: Creation is the same, but you’ll want a different directory name, and also use the ‘–bare’ flag when you create it. This would be something like:

A directory listing will show you something like:

The config file and other stuff that was in the .git directory in a non-bare repository is now in the top most directory. Having created this I can now go to my working repository and use set this as the master copy to synchronize with

Here you specify the repository created with –bare as the location to copy from. By default git uses ssh, so have that setup for passwordless login (or be prepared to supply your password on each push and pull).

Some basic commands

Now that a master repository is setup, and working copies are in place on two or more machines, we are set to use it. One of the real powers of any modern VCS is the ability to handle merges and concurrent updates, but if using this as a personal distributed file system you probably can avoid any knowledge of how to do this for quite a while. Before making updates on a machine that hasn’t been used for a while, a pull will get you anything you’ve pushed recently. This could look something like

That’s all there is to using git as an ad-hoc distributed file system. It can be used this way like a version controlled rsync.

merging and branching … or not.

For my own use only to synchronize things across multiple machines, I don’t have any reason to use the branching or merging facilities. Merging is actually fairly intuitive, and I tried introducing a couple of conflicts since I was curious how it was done. If a conflicting change has been pushed, a pull will notify you of a merge requirement, and the default merge method appears to leave diff3 -m output in the file to be merged. Edit that, run ‘git add ./path_to_conflicting_file’ to mark it merged, commit the file(s), and push and you are done.

IMS is one of those really interesting technology enigmas. Everyone expects IP based mobile network infrastructure to eventually replace the circuit switched technology but for as long as IMS has been around most perceptions seem to be that it hasn’t quite ever delivered. I think there are several reasons for this, the main one being that Mobile Network Operators do not need to make the change. They would gain no real competitive advantage in doing so since conventional non IP services such as voice and SMS remain cost efficient, highly reliable and very profitable.

What IMS has suffered from is a lack of context in relation to real services. SIP based VoIP alone does not differentiate itself sufficiently from conventional voice to warrant the level of investment in infrastructure: IMS is a risk to operators rather than an opportunity. This lack of service context is something the main proponent of IMS, the GSMA, has recently addressed with a set of new specifications around Rich Communications Suite (RCS).

RCS is a set of IP services defined in the context of IMS and provide operators with a service based approach to deploying IMS and deliver enhanced communications services. These services are designed to be future oriented in the sense that they are defined by how communications has begun to evolve. For example, social networking, instant messaging, content and media sharing are all services that are now very familiar to everyone but they continue to remain outside the realm of conventional mobile communications since we use different machines, service providers and clients to run them. RCS seeks to marry all these services and provide the mobile network operator with the opportunity to start to develop them and most importantly, brand them. By branding services that manage social media and content sharing, operators have a clear basis to compete with Apple and Google in particular, which are starting to threaten the operators’ position as primary service providers of next generation services. This is known as the “dumb pipe” concept.

What RCS promises is a basis where conventional mobile services are enhanced and enriched. For example, the Enhanced Address Book (EAB) definition combines presence with conventional contacts management and can relay social media information such as status updates. With presence, Instant Messaging is enabled with content or media file sharing. All these services can be underpinned by conventional circuit-switched voice meaning the operator does not have to deploy RCS at the same time as SIP based VoIP so there is no dependency on operators to switch off their mainstay communications services.

So what does this mean for Symbian? Potentially it could be significant. RCS is currently being deployed using standalone clients and it seems there a few announcements being lined up for Mobile World Congress next February. Our contribution plan already includes MSRP which is a key enabler for RCS. Availability at source of the core enablers as part of the Symbian platform means service providers have an easier, more cost effective basis to deploy the services. Over the next few months I am going to be getting into more detail about where RCS is going and will be using this blog to share my thoughts. There was a XAT failure and there is this one in CAT. Many students all over India could not enjoy their first day first show with Prometric-NIIT-IIM led CAT 2009. Exam for more than 300 people will be rescheduled in the next 9 days as their test could not begin at all. The first day was certainly a flop show.

OVERALL
Overall, the common feeling among the test takers was that the test was of moderate level of difficulty. This was expected as this was IIMs first tryst with the computer based CAT. As most of the test takers fond it easier we can generalize that the first of the 20 tests was of moderate difficulty.

NAVIGATION
The navigation and test interface was very user friendly. The Highlights in case of RCs remained for all the questions answerable through that RC. It was possible only because all questions related to a RC appeared on one page (scrollable) and NOT as one question a page as it appears in GRE. This was good news considering the fact that the video by Prometric said that the highlights would go off as the screen changed.

The only exception was a button to quit the exam that was available on all pages and many takers clicked on that by mistake leading to sudden end of their test.

QUANT
As per the students’ opinion, Quant was of the level of CAT 2006. It was quite manageable. The cut-offs are expected to be higher. However, some well placed traps in Data Sufficiency questions may so the damage.

VERBAL
Verbal was much like that of past two years. Many students observed that RCs were shorter as compared to past years.

DI
Students found DI section the most time consuming mainly because of the few logical questions. Also, the questions that appeared in sets were presented the same way as RCs were – That is, all questions based on one set of data were on the same page. Here also, highlights were possible till the end of the set.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Stay cool! The test is manageable.
2. It is pretty CAT and did not incline towards GRE or GMAT.
3. All basic topics in Quant are important to be covered viz. Algebra, Arithmetic, Geometry etc.
4. Practice more on Logical reasoning questions with long statements and only one question per set.
5. Practice a lot of past CAT questions will help you gain confidence in handling the test!

You know, it’s really tempting to make broad generalizations. It’s really tempting to talk about RCS as though it’s a group of Robin Hoods, robbing the sidewalk space of a wealthy neighborhood to *gasp!* feed “the poor.” You know, “the poor” who need our help, our charity? Yeah, this is totally a story you’d like to read. It’s a feel-good story; you can feel righteous anger toward the family with the carriage house across the street, while you sympathize with the line of hungry men and women and children who wait patiently for generously proffered bounty.

That story is also bullshit.

Our neighbors are neither rich jackasses nor voiceless Jacob Riis photographees, okay? Everyone in our neighborhood IS A NEIGHBOR, IS A PERSON, whether they come in for dinner or just live down the block. Even if they did, actually, complain to the alderman about the people waiting outside of the church on Tuesday nights. I don’t care. If those people showed up, I would still welcome them in. We are not in the business of “rescuing” people or fighting the good fight against the indolent bourgeoisie around us. We… feed people. Who are hungry. Who need food. Physical bread, spiritual bread, it’s all good. On Tuesday nights, we have food.

On Tuesday nights, we also have coffee. I work with Betty, who volunteers social work services every other week; on those nights, I head up beverages with a rotating cast of assistants. I have the privilege of keeping my schedule free on Tuesday nights. As a graduate student, I may actually make less money than some of our neighbors. (Actually, I’m pretty sure that’s the case.) But I have social capital that they don’t. I have a safety net, hard-won as it is. So I make the coffee. One of our neighbors sets up the cold water, the hot tea. And our other neighbors help me carry the coffee out, help me wipe the table, bring me the empty carafes and sugar bowls: we work together.

Here’s one of my favorite blessings, which we used at my campus ministry from time to time:

Sometimes, I really feel like every sermon I ever give, and every essay I ever write boils down to the same thesis: “shut the fuck up and actually do some shit, you guys.”

Or, as St. Francis said more eloquently: “Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.”

I’m glad to see that, in his follow-up article, Mr. Warren seems to have considered the power of his words, even if he isn’t checking his class privilege quite so much. Although the vandalism is very unfortunate, it did not do any permanent damage, and no one is holding any grudges. It’s sad that a window had to get broken and a church had to get flooded for someone to point this lack of grudge-holding out.

Net als vorig seizoen is het Zeeuwse voetbal met zeven clubs vertegenwoordigd in de vierde ronde. Kloetinge, Vlissingen en Tholense Boys haalden net als een jaar geleden de laatste 32, de overige clubs waren eerder al uitgespeeld. Niettemin zijn ze niet toevallig zo ver gekomen, want ook vorig seizoen overleefden ze de poulefase. Allemaal.

Met de plaats in de vierde ronde heeft van Jong Ambon in elk geval een drempel overwonnen. De afgelopen twee seizoenen strandde de ploeg telkens in de derde ronde (tegen Vlissingen en Zaamslag), maar nu lukte het wel via BSC (2-0). In het seizoen 2002/2003 reikte Jong Ambon ook tot de laatste 32. Toen was Hoeven uiteindelijk te sterk.

De bekerprestaties van de zeven overgebleven Zeeuwse clubs in de laatste vijf seizoenen:

RCS is in het bekertoernooi inmiddels een echte angstgegner geworden van Dauwendaele. Voor de vijfde keer troefden de Souburgers de blauw-gelen zaterdag af (2-3). En niet voor het eerst moest Dauwendaele daarbij een voorsprong prijsgeven. In drie van de vijf ontmoetingen maakte Dauwendaele het openingsdoelpunt, maar ging RCS er met de buit vandoor.

Een ander opvallend gegeven is dat Dauwendaele in de knock-outfase voor de derde keer op rij sneuvelde tegen een eersteklasser. In 2001 was Oostkapelle in de tweede ronde te sterk (2-0, twee keer Ferry Alfons), vervolgens moest Dauwendaele tot vorig seizoen wachten totdat het eindelijk weer ‘s de poulefase overleefde. Toen was Kloetinge echter met 0-5 te sterk en zaterdag RCS (2-3 door een veelbesproken strafschop van Besar Xhoxhaj).

Voor het tweede seizoen op rij breekt de derde bekerronde aan zonder clubs van Schouwen-Duiveland. In de tweede ronde waren alleen Duiveland en Zierikzee nog overgebleven, maar zij sneuvelden tegen respectievelijk Kloetinge (0-5) en Patrijzen (na strafschoppen). En daarmee was het Schouwse bekerverhaal alweer verteld. Maar ook de Zeeuws-Vlaamse bekerenclave kalft langzaamaan af.

Het totaalaantal Zeeuwse clubs in de derde ronde is de afgelopen jaren redelijk stabiel. De inbreng van de Zeeuws-Vlaamse clubs echter niet. Deze regio heeft nog maar twee clubs in de race (Zaamslag en Sluis), een laagterecord. Het Zeeuwse bekergezelschap bestaat voor bijna driekwart uit Walcherse en Bevelandse clubs. Die laatste groep beleeft een wederopstanding, want enkele jaren geleden bakten deze Bevelandse clubs er maar weinig van.

Dat is goed nieuws voor de Zeeuws-Vlaamse en vooral Schouwse clubs.

Sinds het seizoen 2003/2004 gaat alleen de poulewinnaar door naar de tweede ronde. Daarvóór de eerste twee ploegen.

Met 18 doelpunten voor en 5 tegen heeft Jong Ambon het beste doelsaldo van de elf resterende Zeeuwse clubs in de districtsbeker. De Middelburgse vierdeklasser verdedigt zijn +13 zondag tegen het een klasse hoger spelende BSC uit Roosendaal. Walcheren volgt met +11 maar kan dat in de derde ronde niet verbeteren, omdat de club is vrijgeloot.

De minste doelcijfers heeft Tholense Boys met +4. In de poule won de Thoolse club twee keer met één goal verschil (en speelde een keer gelijk) en in de tweede ronde won het met 3-1 bij Noordhoek. Dat staat in schril contrast tot de 6-0 (tegen SDO’63) en 8-1 (tegen MZVC) van Jong Ambon, dat verder nog tweemaal gelijk speelde.

Jong Ambon is het productiefst van de nog actieve Zeeuwse clubs in de beker, Zaamslag heeft samen met Dauwendaele de minste tegen: slechts 2 goals. Dat is voor Zaamslag geen toeval, want doelman Bart Corstanje is in de reguliere competitie ook één van de minst gepasseerde goalies. Van Dauwendaele is het echter relatief knapper, want die club speelde één duel meer dan Zaamslag.

Gérard de Nooijer moet lekker op de bank gaan zitten bij Dauwendaele in het bekerduel met RCS. Dat vindt de meerderheid van de stemmers in de poll die de afgelopen dagen op RudeStats heeft gedraaid. Niet met RCS gaan voetballen tegen de spelers van Dauwendaele die je coacht. Dat vindt 67 procent. De overige 33 procent vindt dat dat wel kan. Woensdag laat een panel van intimi van Gérard zijn licht schijnen over dit dilemma in de PZC. Donderdagavond maakt hij bekend wat hij gaat doen. Lijkt me nu niet meer zo moeilijk.

Gérard de Nooijer zit in dubio. Zaterdag staat het bekerduel Dauwendaele-RCS op het programma. Bij de ene club is De Nooijer trainer (Dauwendaele), bij de andere speler (RCS). Wat moet hij doen? Als speler van RCS zijn eigen pupillen op het veld bestrijden? Of als trainer van Dauwendaele zijn eigen ploeggenoten bestrijden? Een morele kwestie. Donderdagavond maakt De Nooijer bekend wat hij gaat doen. RudeStats wil hem een handje helpen. Geef je mening in de poll in de rechterkolom.

De 0-0 van RIA W zondag tegen Dosko oogde niet zo bijzonder. Scoren doet RIA dit seizoen niet zo uitbundig en winnen ook niet. Een doelpuntloos gelijkspelletje is zo gek dus nog niet. Maar de 0-0 is uitermate bijzonder. Het is namelijk de eerste keer sinds 1995 dat RIA W in competitieverband een doelpuntloze wedstrijd speelt.

Zondag 17 september 1995 beleefde RIA W die heuglijke dag. Thuis tegen Groede speelde de Westdorpse club 0-0 (in de tweede klasse afdeling). Twee weken daarvoor kwam RIA bij Biervliet ook al niet verder dan 0-0. De club moest echter dik veertien jaar wachten op de een nieuw 0-0-gelijkspel. Een ongeëvenaarde reeks in het Zeeuwse voetbal.

De eerste achtervolger was Walcheren. Die club speelde in januari 2005 voor het laatste 0-0. Het verschil tussen RIA en Walcheren was dus maar liefst 10 jaar. De koning is nu echter dood, lang leve de nieuwe koning. Walcheren is de nieuwe te kloppen club in de lijst van doelpuntlozen. En RIA W staat helemaal onderaan!

Gérard de Nooijer is de tiende 40+’er die dit seizoen in competitieverband het net heeft gevonden. Zondag maakte hij de tweede goal van RCS tegen Unitas (5-0-zege). Am crezut ca e vreo problema tehnica dar se pare ca nu a fost asa doar ca netul meu a fost retrogradat peste noapte. Dintr-un caine mare, rau si agresiv a devenit brusc o biata jigodie fara dinti in gura – din Lan de mare viteza a trecut la Dial-Up bleg.  Problema ar fi ca eu dau tot atatia bani pe luna si ca cei de la RDS au uitat sa ma anunte ca va urma o schimbare contractuala. In plus au uitat sa-mi transmita informatiile de configurare… Ei bine pe scurt dinnou sunt fara net iar cei de la relatii cu clientii sunt niste idioti murati cum au fost din totdeauna.

Pe de alta parte tot tehnologia mi-a descretit fruntea. Ieri dimineata primesc un sms de la un numar necunoscut:

Hoessein Bouzambou maakte zaterdag de 50e (na)competitiegoal uit zijn carrière. (foto Mark Neelemans)

Hoessein Bouzambou bewees zaterdag weer zijn waarde voor Hoek. Met twee doelpunten metselde hij de 2-1-zege op Dovo. Het eerste doelpunt, na ruim een kwartier, was het 50e doelpunt van Bouzambou in (na)competitieverband. Hij verzamelde zijn goals bij vier verschillende clubs.

Vanuit de jeugd van Vlissingen stroomde hij door naar het eerste elftal van de club. Eind januari 2005 kwam het eerste streepje achter zijn naam: tegen HVV’24 maakte hij het vijfde Vlissingen-doelpunt in een 5-2-zege. Een jaar later verkaste Bouzambou naar Zaamslag, toentertijd getraind door Dennis de Nooijer.

Bouzambou was het plezier kwijtgeraakt en hoopte dat in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen te hervinden. En dat lukte. Na het seizoen ging hij echter naar RCS, waar zijn talenten langzamerhand écht tot ontbolstering kwamen. In het slot van het seizoen 2007/2008 brak hij écht door. Hij scoorde wedstrijd op wedstrijd, in de succesvolle nacompetitie zelfs zes keer.

In de eerste klasse trok hij die lijn moeiteloos door en dit seizoen lijkt wéér een stap hogerop hem opnieuw weinig problemen op te leveren. Hij heeft inmiddels 51 streepjes achter zijn naam staan.

Jakkoo Brouwer

Jakkoo Brouwer is de negende 40+ er die dit seizoen in competitieverband het net heeft gevonden. Echt gejuicht zal hij niet hebben, want hij maakte zijn goal zondag in het duel met Robur dat hij met Ouwerkerk met 2-11 verloor. Uitslag vergeten, goal onthouden. Piccolo giallo finanziario. Chi è il primo azionista del Corriere della Sera? Ieri Cesare Geronzi ha detto non è Mediobanca, ma Giuseppe Rotelli, l’uomo alle testa di un importante gruppo sanitario del nord Italia, con il 15 per cento. Ma Rotelli ha fatto sapere, no, ho solo l’11. Vediamo com’è nato questo caso. Mercoledì scorso, in occasione dell’assemblea di Mediobanca, Renato Pagliaro, direttore generale della banca d’affari, ha definito «innaturale» che una banca sia la principale azionista di Rcs, salvo poi prudentemente precisare che la cosa «non dipende solo da me, ma dagli organi collegiali di Mediobanca». Poi il manager – che tra le altre cariche è anche vicepresidente del consiglio di amministrazione di Rcs – ha ricordato che Mediobanca è diventata principale azionista di Rcs «incidentalmente», molti anni fa, per consentire il parziale smobilizzo della quota da parte di Fiat alle prese con una delle sue cicliche fasi di crisi.
Così, ieri, a margine della Giornata mondiale del risparmio, interrogato sul caso, Cesare Geronzi, presidente di Piazzetta Cuccia, ha risposto a sorpresa. Ha detto, appunto, che il primo azionista di Rcs, non è Mediobanca con il 14 per cento, ma Giuseppe Rotelli con il 15 per cento: «Non siamo il primo azionista. Accertatevi – ha detto ai giornalisti – il dottor Rotelli ha il 15 per cento, accertate».
E il quotidiano arancione ha provato ad accertarsi. Rotelli, proprietario di moltissime cliniche nel Nord Italia, è anche il titolare della finanziaria Pandette Srl: società che – secondo i dati depositati in Consob – ha in pancia il 7,54 per cento di Rcs. Ma in realtà Rotelli non ha solo il 7,54 per cento. Infatti, nel febbraio scorso il Banco Popolare e Pandette hanno sottoscritto un accordo sui contratti di opzione di vendita e di acquisto di azioni ordinarie Rcs stipulati il 29 novembre 2006 e il 19 aprile 2007. Con questo accordo è stato stabilito che il contratto di opzione relativo a 25,3 milioni di azioni ordinarie Rcs con scadenza lo scorso 3 marzo verrà prorogato di 5 anni, fermo restando che il diritto di voto continuerà a essere esercitato da Pandette. In sintesi, significa che tutte le azioni Rcs in possesso di Banco Popolare è come se di fatto fossero state trasferite a Giuseppe Rotelli e alla sua Pandette. Oggi il Banco Popolare ha in Rcs il 3,63 per cento: se questa quota la sommassimo a quella della Pandette, Rotelli arriverebbe all’11,17 per cento di Rcs.
Come si arriva al 15? Ci sono due scuole di pensiero. La prima è quella della Consob. L’istituto fa sapere che le comunicazioni all’Autorità avvengono solo quando le quote azionarie superano percentuali prestabilite: la prima soglia è il 2 per cento, la seconda il 5, poi il 10 per cento, segue il 15 per cento, e così via con i multipli di 5. In pratica Rotelli potrebbe comprare azioni Rcs con la Pandette e passare dal 7,54 attuale al 9,99 senza dover comunicare nulla all’istituto di sorveglianza. E dal 3,6 al 4,99 della quota Banco Popolare. La seconda ipotesi, la suggerisce proprio il Banco Popolare. Fonti dell’istituto di credito dicono al Riformista che le quote in loro possesso sono state ereditate dalla Banca Popolare di Lodi, che a sua volta aveva ricevuto le azioni Rcs – circa il 15 per cento – da Stefano Ricucci, o meglio, dalla finanziaria lussemburghese Magiste dell’immobiliarista romano che tentò la scalata al Corriere. E sulle azioni Rcs del Banco Popolare avrebbe diritto di voto proprio Rotelli. Ed ecco che ritorna il 15 per cento di cui ha detto Geronzi.
Resta un punto da chiarire. Dagli estratti Consob abbiamo visto che Popolare più Pandette fa circa l’11 per cento di Rcs. Rotelli però ha nella manica un asso: cioè un’opzione per acquistare da Banco Popolare ancora un 3,52 per cento circa di Rcs, quota al momento intestata per conto terzi a Ubs fiduciaria e su cui Rotelli ha diritto di voto. Quindi: Pandette (7,52 per cento), più Banco Popolare (3,62), più Ubs (3,52) darebbe come risultato il 14,66 per cento: quota che per eccesso corrisponde al 15 per cento. E se i calcoli venissero confermati, Mediobanca – che oggi ha il 14,2 del gruppo editoriale – non sarebbe più il primo azionista Rcs.
Comunque indipendentemente dalla quota del 7, 11 o 15 per cento, molti osservatori si stanno chiedendo quale sia l’obiettivo di Rotelli. Il re delle cliniche del Nord non ha mai posseduto giornali, ma è un appassionato di editoria. Dal Gruppo Rotelli fanno sapere che il desiderio del patron della Pandette è sempre stato quello di diventare un rinomato e importante editore. In una fase di eventuale riassetto del sistema Rcs, Rotelli potrebbe trovare spazio.
Intanto arrivano news sulla quota Rcs di Fiat (il gruppo torinese ha circa il 10,5 per cento). Ci sono state le dichiarazioni di Luca di Montezemolo («Per noi la presenza in Rcs è una scelta strategica e lo confermiamo») che nei giorni scorsi ha escluso la voce di una cessione della quota Fiat. A Torino si dice che Gianluigi Gabetti presidente d’onore Exor – finanziaria della famiglia Agnelli – avrebbe consigliato a John Elkann di esercitare maggior potere con la quota nell’editoriale del Corriere, altrimenti sarebbe meglio uscirne. Da Exor, azionista di riferimento di Fiat, smentiscono l’indiscrezione. Mentre in casa Fiat dopo un primo «no comment», lasciano intendere che sulla quota in Rcs c’è una linea di Montezemolo, che crede nell’idea del presidio culturale di Fiat in Rcs. E secondo alcuni non gli dispiacerebbe rafforzare le sponde naturali per il suo think tank Italia Futura. Un’altra ipotesi sarebbe quella di un rafforzamento della sua influenza sulla Stampa.

In momentul asta, imaginea mea despre cum e reparata reteaua este o maimuta catarata pe un stalp, bagand si scotand aleatoriu niste cabluri dintr-un switch. Apoi, intreaga viata a internetului meu imi trece prin fata ochilor: primele conexiuni dial-up la Romtelecom, chaturile pe mIRC, prima data cand am folosit Yahoo! Messenger, prima data cand am achitat o factura la internet… Si deodata, imaginile se distorsioneaza, iar singurul lucru pe care il mai vede internetul meu este o lumina mare…

Nog elf Zeeuwse clubs zijn in de race voor een plaats in de Europa League… Oké, het is een ultiem, vrijwel irreëel einddoel, maar zo lang je nog in de districtsbeker zit, maak je theoretisch kans op een plaatsje in deze opvolger van de Uefa Cup. Halve finale districtsbeker halen, KNVB-beker winnen en Europa in! Elf Zeeuwse clubs maken er nog kans op. Dat is niet echt veel in vergelijking met voorgaande jaren.

Maar gezien het aantal Zeeuwse clubs dat de tweede ronde had gehaald, valt het mee. 21 clubs overleefden de poulefase en dat was het laagste aantal sinds alleen de poulewinnaars verder mogen bekeren. In de tweede ronde viel minder dan de helft van de clubs af. Vrij makkelijk, want 20 clubs speelden tegen elkaar en alleen Tholense Boys trof een niet-Zeeuwse tegenstander: Noordhoek. En versloeg die vijfdeklasser.

Volgende maand volgt de derde ronde. Dan maken we weer een inventarisatie van de Europese mogelijkheden van de Zeeuwse clubs.
