en they went to see it at the National this week. “That’s me,” said one managing director when the actor crowed at the end: “I still have my health, wealth and wife.” They grinned when the former Lehman’s banker admitted that the employees had nicked all the Milky Ways and crisps from the canteen on their way out. “You see, you need us,” explained the hedge fund manager afterwards. “We’re   not like coal miners, fishermen or politicians. We are indispensable. Without the City, Britain is nothing. It’s in everyone’s interests for us to succeed even if you don’t like us very much.”

Hare may think he’s articulating left-wing rage against the greedy capitalists who got us all into this mess, but for the bankers it’s back to business as usual. They pretend to be mildly contrite about the noise they are causing as they build their new underground swimming pools across London. But they’re not. They genuinely believe they are carrying out a public service by boosting the country’s coffers and rebuilding the City.Mbt m walk 

“We aren’t a drain on society, we send our children to private schools, have private GPs and health insurance and rarely use public transport,” one investment banker said. As they take out their wallets, bulging with this year’s bonus, the past two years seem like a blip.

Arrogant, complacent, yes; but they could also be wrong. We haven’t yet seen the final act of the drama, which could be nastier than anything Hare envisaged. The City of London may have survived the credit crunch, but there could yet be a final twist to the plot.Mbt Chapa

The first threat comes from Europe. While the Goldman Sachs executives have been booking the NetJet to Ibiza this summer, the French have set their sights on controlling the EU’s economic agenda. Britain can have Baroness Ashton of Upholland as foreign affairs chief, but in return the French want Michel Barnier, their former Foreign Minister, overseeing the financial services portfolio. A Frenchman will not want to encourage a renaissance of the City of London. Mr Barnier, a staunch defender of French protectionism, is more likely to propose sweeping regulations to restrain those Anglo-Saxon capitalists.

Then there are the Tories. The City should be worried, very worried by a rather dishevelled man called Phillip Blond, who until recently worked at the University of Cumbria. Mr Blond, who can’t do up his top button and brush his hair on the same day, has become the Tory philosopher king. Tomorrow David Cameron will “drop in to offer words of support” as the “Red Tory” launches his new think-tank ResPublica.

Mr Blond, a Liverpudlian theo- logian, despises the City, arguing that “the great error of the last fifty years is that the Conservatives think they must believe in the free market, but the free market … destroys almost all things, traditions, family life, societies, cultures”. Communities, not capitalism, will save the world, according to Mr Blond.Mbt trainers

Mr Cameron loves the belief that “Blondie” has in a smaller State and a bigger society and he’s not averse to a bit of banker bashing either. Having left Oxford during the last recession, he and many of his contemporaries couldn’t find jobs in the City, so the Conservative Party leader does not feel instinctively protective towards the masters of the universe.

George Osborne, the Shadow Chancellor, has more hedge fund mates but doesn’t feel sympathetic to the City either. In his speech to the party conference he came remarkably close to proposing a windfall tax on banking profits. If they didn’t clean up their act on bonuses, he warned, they would only have themselves to blame.  Mbt sale

The Tory high command laugh when financiers complain about the Shadow Chancellor. They don’t need the City’s endorsement or money for their election campaign and they won’t be blackmailed. Go to Geneva if you don’t like it is their answer. “Labour may have needed a prawn cocktail offensive; we need a poverty offensive,” said one strategist.

Their private polling shows that the public loathe bankers more than politicians, so the Conservatives are desperate to disassociate themselves from the City. Voters are furious that the gap between the yachts and have-nots has grown rather than diminished in the past few months. While City high-flyers are once again buying £10,000 stocking fillers, eBay crashed last weekend under the weight of people trying to sell goods to get extra cash for Christmas.

The more distance the Tories can put between themselves and the City the better. Even Boris Johnson, always a reliable guide to the prevailing political wind, has dumped his “monstrous” pinstriped friends. Instead, the Tories are courting the CBI and business, emphasising tax cuts for companies and promising to be “unashamedly pro-enterprise”. The message is clear: real businesses matter; the City doesn’t.

Perhaps this will change if the Tories get into government, Mr Blond returns to academia and the lure of their tax contributions persuades Mr Osborne that the bankers must be kept happy. Perhaps the threat of European regulation will recede. But those traders and hedge fund managers who think it’s carry on banking are mistaken. As George Soros warns: “This is not business as usual. It’s the end of an era.”

Fungsi read more di wordpress adalah untuk memecah posting menjadi dua bagian, umumnya bagian pertama merupakan paragrap awal dari sebuah tulisan, dan sisanya adalah isi lengkap dari tulisan itu. Read More di wordpress sangat mudah dibuat karena merupakan fitur bawaan wordpress. Langkah-langkah membuat read more di wordpress adalah : 1. Setelah login ke account wordpress, Klik menu “tulis” atau “write” 2. Di bawah kotak judul / title sebelah kanan, ada menu VISUAL dan HTML –> klik menu HTML 3. Di bawahnya ada deretan menu b i link. You may have noticed that the level of traffic your blog receives with a WordPress blog tends to be somewhat higher than other blogging platforms. The reason is because WordPress places your posts in its global tagging database, search engines through Ping-o-Matic!, and are indexed on sitemaps. If you would like to spread the word about your latest posts to farther areas on the web, you can send updates to your Twitter and Yahoo! profiles.

First, click on “My Blogs” located under Dashboard.

From there, select on whatever service you prefer under the Publicize column.

You will need to authorize the feature by signing into the corresponding service and approving access.

Now you’ll find a “Publicize” section under the Publish bar while drafting your newest posts. You can alter the message to your liking as well. Lastly, publish as usual, and WordPress will send updates to the authorized services.

Digg is a popular social news site where you can find the most popular stories on the Web. Submitted stories get voted up by people and the more “diggs” a story receives, the higher the amount of recognition it garners.

For bloggers like you and I, this means directing traffic to your blog. Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as submitting all of your posts to Digg and having everyone see it. If one reader likes what you have to show them, then he/she will digg it and hopefully this will lead to a domino effect.

Drooling about the prospect of increased traffic to your blog? You should be. But be warned. Only submit your most popular articles to Digg, otherwise Digg will not reciprocate kindly. To learn more about the ins and outs of how Digg works, check out this article here.

So… how to add a Digg button to your posts? Follow these steps:

1. Register an account on Digg, if you haven’t already.
2. Copy the url of your post.
3. Submit the post on Digg by pasting the post’s url. The page will reload and you’ll end up in a page stating that the post was submitted successfully. Copy the url of that page.
4. Enter this code to your post in the appropriate format:[digg=http://digg.com/url_to/story_on_digg]

Having published a recent article, you may want visitors to pay more attention to it. As you know, if you continue publishing successive articles, the older posts will get pushed back down the page. To prevent that, you can mark a specific post as “sticky” so that it will remain on the top of your homepage for as long as you desire. Any articles you publish from there after, will be not be displayed on the top of the homepage but rather the sticky post(s).

To mark a post as sticky, check the option “Stick this post to the front page” under the Publish settings on the edit page of your posts. Then click on Update.

Note: It’s best that you only mark no more than two posts as being sticky.

Rather than manually publishing a post at a specific time, you can set the date and time at which the post will then be automatically published.

Click on the Edit link located under the Publish bar and to the right of the bolded date and time in the edit page of your post.

Set the date and time which you wish to have the post published.

Click on Schedule when you are done adjusting the date.

Now the post will be published at the specified date and time you set.

Conclusion:

WordPress is the best blogging platform alive. Nothing comes close to it in scale and capabilities. Blogger is nice…but really? If you happened to use WordPress and had to compare it with Blogger, you would be lying if you said that Blogger was far superior. Unless, of course, you work for Google.

Biasanya saat kita membuat postingan baru di blog wordpress.com, semua tulisan yang kita tulis ditampilkan semua di halaman blog kita. Mungkin saat jumlah postingan kita masih sedikit,blog kita masih enak dilihat. Tapi jika postingan kita  sudah mulai banyak dan rata-rata tulisan pada tiap postingan kita lumayan panjang, udah mulai pusing deh ngeliatnya. Nah di wordpress kita bisa memotong postingan yg kita tulis sesuai yg kita inginkan. Ini juga berguna agar si pembaca menjadi penasaran oleh postingan yang kita tampilkan hanya sepotong dan akhirnya mau mengklik postingan kita secara utuh. Kita sering melihat kata-kata read more,selanjutnya,selengkapnya,dll pada suatu posting yang bisa diklik untuk melihat postingan tersebut degan lengkap.

Coba lakukan langkah-langkah berikut:

1. Selesaikan dulu tulisan yg kita buat di Add New Post hingga selesai semua.
2. Setelah kita selesai menulis semuanya, lalu letakan krusor dimana kita akan memotong tulisan tersebut.
3. Lalu klik “Insert More tag” pada toolbar yg tersedia.

1. Nah selesai deh, coba cek postingan baru tersebut di blog kita apakah sudah sesuai yg kita inginkan.

Biasanya tulisan yg muncul pada postingan kita setelah kalimat yg dipotong adalah “Read the rest of this entry >” sebagai kalimat default yg disediakan oleh wordpress yg maksudnya jika diklik, kita akan bisa membaca postingan tersebut dg lengkap. Namun jika kita ingin mengganti kalimat tersebut dengan kata-kata yang kita inginkan misalnya “read more”, kita bisa merubahnya pada kode HTML yg tersedia seperti berikut:

• Masuk menu Dashboard dan Edit Post yg tadi kita buat.

• Masukan kata yg kita inginkan di dalam coding HTML tersebut pada “<!–more–>” menjadi “<!–more (read more)–>”

• Nah setelah Update Post, coba deh liat lagi  blog kita apakah sudah berubah sesuai yg kita inginkan.

It wasn’t quite a good start this morning. Tired. Sian. Emo. ewwww.. I just dont feel like doing anything and my brain is full of crap and rubbish. Keep thinking about what is happening recently. I said I need some time to accept it but after all is it necessary I thought.

It doesn’t serve any purpose pondering on things that you need to get over fast. What has happen had happened. Since I have decided to make this choice, I should look forward and work towards the goal. It’s just a matter of a time. No matter how long it is, as long as I’m happy over this period. As long as I see them live in comfort and smile, I will be happy (:

Day can be better. Life can be fuller. Relationship with them can be closer. This is provided I work for it! I love my family so I will work harder. I have to really change to untie that knot and earn back what I used to have. Action speak louder than words. I shall not say any further but work to prove that I can. Just have to remind myself that when there is no fear, I will feel good!

Untuk membuat read more di Blogspot/Blogger.com memang agak susah, karena harus mengutak-atik kode templatenya terlebih dahulu. Namun sekarang dapat menjadi lebih mudah semenjak Blogspot mengeluarkan fitur read more atau disebut sebagai jump break.

Fungsi read more adalah memotong postingan sesuai dengan keinginan kita, sehingga hanya sebagian kalimat yang muncul di halaman depan. Sehingga lebih banyak postingan yang bisa ditampilkan dihalaman depan blog.

Cara mempergunakannya cukup mudah, mirip dengan sistem read more di WordPress. Di tempat yang ingin Anda potong silakan klik icon “insert jump break” di blog editor yang baru (ada di paling kanan iconnya).

Untuk mengaktifkan blog editor yang baru silakan menuju Dashboard Blogger Anda kemudian pilih Setting – Basic – scroll kebawah maka ada Global Setting. Di Select post editor pilih Update Editor, kemudian Save.

Atau jika menggunakan mode Edit Html silakan ketik

Beda kodenya dengan WordPress, diantara kata more diberi spasi.

Fungsi “Read More” yang terdapat dalam WordPress membolehkan anda meringkaskan entri-entri yang dipaparkan pada laman utama. Apabila pengunjung ingin membaca satu-satu entri dengan lebih lanjut, mereka akan klik pada link “Read More” tersebut.

Dan kini, Blogspot juga secara rasminya telah memperkenalkan fungsi yang sama. Kini para pengguna Blogger boleh memasukkan fungsi “Read More” dengan mudah tanpa perlu mengubah kod HTML atau apa-apa lagi proses yang kompleks.

Cara untuk memasukkan Read More ini adalah mudah sahaja. Jika anda menggunakan editor yang baru, terus klik pada ikon “Insert Jump Break”. Jika anda tidak menggunakan editor yang baru, anda boleh memasukkan Read More secara manual di ruang HTML, dengan menaip kod <!—- more -->pada entri.

Anda juga boleh menukarkan perkataan “Read More” tersebut pada skrin Layout, dan klik Edit pada bahagian Blogs Posts.

Fungsi ini merupakan salah satu peningkatan yang diperkenalkan oleh Blospot bersempena hari jadinya yang kesepuluh. Dijangka lebih banyak lagi fungsi-fungsi baru yang akan diperkenalkan, seperti memasukkan page, sama seperti WordPress.

Sudah banyak yg tanya cara buat READ MORE atau Baca Selengkapnya atau Baca Selanjutnya di blogger beta / baru (untuk tutorial buat read more di blogspot / blogger template lama atau classic lihat di sini) dan sudah saya beritahu alamatnya. Tapi tampaknya sebagian agak kesulitan dg tutorial bahasa Inggris. Untuk Anda yg termasuk golongan ini, saya persilahkan mengikuti panduan berikut.

Ada dua cara untuk membuat read more di blogger / blogspot baru (tanda Blogger Baru adalah di admin memakai layout / tata letak dan page element / elemen halaman).

Cara Pertama:

1. Buka template -> Edit HTML -> Kasih tanda tik pada menu “expand widget tempate” (lihat gambar 1)
2. Letakkan kode berikut persis di atasnya kode </head> (lihat gambar 2)

Ketika memposting, klik EDIT HTML (bukan COMPOSE). Maka, secara otomatis akan tampak kode

Masalah yang Sering Dihadapi

1. Saat mengklik “Simpan Perubahan” kita sering mendapat pesan demikian:

XML error message: The element type “style” must be terminated by the matching end-tag “”.

Jangan panik. Itu artinya tanda petik / kutip buka tutup (quote/unquote) yakni tanda ‘ dalam kode tidak cocok dengan font template. Yang perlu dilakukan adalah buang tanda kutip ['] itu dan kasih tanda kutip yang baru di tempat yang sama. Dan coba klik lagi SIMPAN.

2. Anda sudah berhasil memasang seluruh kode di atas, tetapi ‘read more’ gak berhasil; posting tetap panjang? Dan tulisan ‘read more’ nongol di bagian bawah artikel? Tenang. Ikuti solusi berikut: klik “Pengaturan” -> klik “Format” -> buang/delete semua tanda kutip buka/tutup (quote/unquote) di “fullpost” dan ganti dengan tanda kutip yang baru. Jangan lupa klik “Simpan”.
Selesai. Selamat ngeblog di blogger / blogspot dengan READ MORE.

dotEXE – Salah satu hal yang banyak dipertanyakan oleh para pengguna Blogspot sejak dulu (termasuk saya) adalah fitur Read More, atau fitur untuk memisah artikel yang ditampilkan di frontpage dengan single post sendiri, semacam yang populer di WordPress.

Akhirnya setelah menunggu lama, fitur ini hadir secara default pada layanan Blogspot (Blogger.com). Untuk menggunakan fitur ini aturlah terlebih dulu via Setting Tab di panel anda. Kemudian enable fitur Read More,

Untuk yang lebih senang menggunakan editor HTML, cukup tambahan syntax <!– more –> ditempat dimana diinginkan sebuah pemisahan.

Dengan defaultnya fitur ini, maka temen-temen blogger yang masih menggunakan trik read more via template-templatenya, silakan dibiasakan pake yang default.
