Huhuhu…sedih ooo…my digital camera lost and i dont know whether I lost it at the college or somewhere else…well maybe there is a “hikmah sebalik kejadian” looking at the bright side, considering DSLR camera…not an expert in this area but really really interested to learn more…now looking at this model Canon EOS 450D / Digital Rebel XSi

How do i stumble on this model, well the answer is here, hehehe with some googling…let see some of the pictures from the web on the rebel (I love the name “Rebel” huahuahua)

I have gone through the review and  dont understand all the jargon used in that review (ha ha ha…) really appreciate if someone can translate to me the review into something that DSLR illiterate can easily understand…I want to freeze the moments and frame it not only in my mind(frame that easily lost hahahahhaa) but also to share it with my children and my children’s children and …the lists continue.

Its been almost 3 weeks already since i lost my camera and its frustrating seeing the moment just pass by…huhuhuhu…

Iffah and Qistina are playing together, laughing and  having a lot fun and of course ummi and papa also smiling melihat perangai satu-satu orang…iffah and qistina…

now the delimma is between time & quality…if i want to capture the moment as soon as possible, meaning just get any Digital camera that within my immediate budget…but if i want to capture a quality and I myself will passionately capture every moments then i have to sacrifice the moments passing until i can get my hand on the Rebel…

Third option would be buy any camera now and just bear it until the time come for the Rebel…yup! maybe i’ll go with that one…the moments are too precious to sacrifice…well start googling now for other digital camera…for now let the Rebel be my dream every nite…good nite

Lou Dobbs was the only reason I would bother watching CNN.  Now that channel, along with TLC, MTV, Lifetime and the O Network can kiss my black ass.  Lou Dobbs is on my top-celebrities-I-want-to-meet because he is a rebel.  Now, do not confuse the  “rebel” from the “bad ass”.  Greg Behrent does a great joke about this.  Lou is no Backstreet Boy.  Rebels are rebels because they pay a price for their beliefs.  Yet in spite of the consequences, they keep going.

It’s no small thing that Lou lost his job on CNN, severing the ties that have held strong for him since he was a beginning journalist with the network.  He has been harrassed and his family endangered because of his steadfast reporting.  When there are important things that a person could lose, but he carries forward anyway, knowing the possible consequences, then rebel is his name.  He used his show as a platform for his own kind of advocacy journalism, and he reported on what he believed to be important. 

Case in point – Lou’s ardent defense of the Second Amendment. 

This video actually has two of my favorite people in it.  Larry Pratt from the Guns Owners of America organization, and Lou Dobbs. 

I look forward to seeing what Mr. Dobbs has in store for his admirers in the future.

A lot of people are going to get cameras this holiday season, or have them from the last few seasons.  They have a basic SLR and the kit lens.  There’s a lot you can do with these simple combinations, but they’re limiting as well.  I’ve been involved in a few discussion forums for these mid-level beginners and wanted to echo a post here about an individual who was looking to upgrade, primarily interested in wedding photography, but wanted advice on path forward.

“Agree with others, 18-55 kit *can* take a sharp photo, but it’ll be a challenge if you’re handheld, in low light, and don’t have a high-contrast subject that’s moving. The variable aperture also makes using Manual difficult, try Shutter Priority (Tv) or Aperture Priority (Av) first to get comfortable with working your exposure. If using a flash head, try fooling with bounce flash and Program mode (P). If you have an older Rebel without a thumb wheel, then you won’t really be able to use Manual for anything beyond posed shots, because you’ll only have one of three exposure parameters (shutter, aperture, sensitivity) assigned to the index wheel. Oh, thoroughly read the manual for your camera as you explore each setup. Some people are able to know just the basics and get great stuff, some people need to really dig and understand the nuance. Find out which you are and how much effort you’re willing to put into your craft before laying out cash. Regarding upgrades, I’d stick with the Rebel and first invest in glass. That 50 1.8 is a good choice, you can even get them used for $75 or lower, although they are a bit long on a 1.6x Rebel, almost 85mm. It’ll take some getting used to, which isn’t a bad thing. The 50 1.4 is an even better choice if you can drop a few hundred. Zooms, I’d say go for the 17-55 2.8 IS.. it doesn’t say L (no weather sealing, etc) but it’s L-quality glass. Every bit as good as the 16-35, 24-70 or 24-105 for under $1000. And if you don’t have one, get yourself a 580ex or 580exII flash head and rechargeable batteries (I like Ansmann 2700mAh AAs, they’re a bit pricey but pay for themselves over time) or an external battery pack. Learn to use bounce and fill-in flash and your photos will improve dramatically. More light means smaller aperture and faster shutter, which means more sharpness. More light also means greater saturation. I’m of the philosophy that photography isn’t cheap. Yes you can get by, and yes in the end, it’s the photographer not the camera. You can get some amazing photos with a $250 point-n-shoot, I know… but the proper kit makes it possible to get 500 amazing photos in a night as opposed to just 10 or 20. That’s once you’re ready to “go live,” you can learn everything you need to learn on the Rebel with one decent (fixed aperture) zoom, a prime or two, and a flash head. Dear Stock Photography Professionals, Amateur Photographers, Illustrators and Graphic Designers

“Success” is relative …

It was just over two years ago I started to research how to sell my photography when I caught “The Bug” to start selling my images online. In September of 2007 I decided to dedicate two years to explore the possibilities of the incredible world of stock photography. I felt that two years would be enough time to give me a chance to sink my teeth into training myself from any and all sources and to get up to speed, starting basically from scratch, on this rapidly expanding and growing industry. At the time I had never even picked up a photography book or taken a photoshop tutorial. It is now two years later, and while I feel I have come very far and achieved many successes, I find that there is always more to learn. I absolutely love this work !

In July of 2007 I relocated to Washington State after accepting a transfer to work at The Boeing Company’s Commercial Airplane Headquarters in Renton, Washington just outside of Seattle, Washington. Analyzing Market Research was my specialty. Driving out to Washington from Colorado during the course of my relocation I captured a few thousands pictures on a Canon SD750 camera. At that time I was interested in seeing if I could market my images by selling prints of them at festivals, art shows and galleries. It was during this period of research that I discovered the world of commercial stock photography.

My first site that I was approved as a contributor at was BigStockPhoto in September of 2007. For that reason alone I will always have a special place in my heart for them. I found that their entry criteria was not as strict as some of the larger sites. The same applies for 123rf so these are both excellent places to get your first exposure to in selling your photography online. That being said you will want to get into Shutterstock and iStockPhoto as soon as possible. This took me many months to achieve as I was starting from nearly complete scratch with the exception of strong information technology background.  FYI: Recently BigStockPhoto was acquired by the subscription based microstock giant Shutterstock .

Stock Photography Sites are often referred to by short abbreviations. It was more than a little confusing to myself when I first started researching microstock on the various forums so I will list a few abbreviations that you may find useful to know your first time encountering them:

• SS = Shutterstock
• IS = iStockPhoto
• DT = Dreamstime
• FT = Fotolia
• BSP = BigStockPhoto
• MP = MostPhotos
• BME = Best Month Ever
• WME = Worst Month Ever
• BDE = Best Day Ever
• MSG = Microstock Group
• EL = Extended License
• RF = Royalty Free
• Glass = Camera Lens for a DSLR Camera ex. Canon 55-250 IS
• IS = Image Stabilization

My first sale came from the second site that I was approved at as a contributor which was Dreamstime. I initially sought out DT during a time when BigStockPhoto was halting uploading over the weekends. This is just one small example of the kind of roadblocks one faces when it comes to trying to build up an approved portfolio at a microstock agency.

At its most basic level, getting started in microstock photography takes just a few basic steps …

• Check-out the various stock photography links on this blog
• Browse the microstock sites and become familiar and get a feel for the photography on them
• Prepare 3-10 of your best images in accordance to the respective standards of the site you wish to join
• Submit your applications to become a contributor (a.k.a photographer) and get approved to contribute
• Shoot Pictures. Post Process Images in Photoshop. Upload Photos to all sites for review. Repeat.
• Collect the revenue from sales made each month across all sites over the years for the life of the image. Large subscription based sites such as Shutterstock will ultimately produce daily sales for you after your portfolio of approved images grows to a modest size of a few hundred images however credit based sale sites such as iStockPhoto will yield higher commissions at a much slower rate. There is constant debate over which is best. Most stock photographers submit all of their work to each of the most profitable microstock sites.
• Receive your payout after reaching a threshold for each respective site. (ex. $50, $75, $100)

I believe a quick recap of where my interest in photography as a child came from will prove insightful to some readers …

Photography had been an interest of mine since I first began taking snapshot photos with “hand me down” cameras from my parents I was about 9 or 10 years old. It was probably around 1979-1981 ish when I first started using 110 film cameras that I usually borrowed from my mother. The first camera that I actually owned was a Polaroid One Step instant camera. I remember having to pay for my own film. Early on I mowed lawns and later on I worked for the family gas station starting at the age of 10 working for $2.00 / hour. At the very least I know I was responsible for paying for the cartridges of film which were very expensive for around ten photos if I remember correctly. This limited my ability to take pictures as I was saving up to pay my way for a $750.00 30-Day bus tour trip across the country with the Boy Scouts to the National Jamboree in Virginia in 1981. Since the film for my instant camera was so expensive my mother allowed me to borrow her Sony Disc Camera. I took both cameras on my 30-day bus tour “Reunion with History” to the Jamboree. The Statue of Liberty was getting a makeover during our tour but it was still amazing and one of my favorite subjects. However, when I went to the top of the “Twin Towers” World Trade Center, that was my favorite scene. The bridges and skyscrapers of New York City fostered my love for architecture and structures which I later studied at length. I plan to dig up a couple of those first photos of mine from that trip, scan them, and post them here as a point-of-reference …

2007 November: Thanksgiving Day 2007 was my 1st Microstock Sale at DT Accepted into Fotolia . BME across all sites. Joined Microstock Group Forum (MSG). 1st SS Application Rejected. Read Photography & Photoshop Books. Study free tutorials from The MIZ and many others.

2007 December: Join Featurepics. Make plans to buy my first DSLR camera by April or May 2008. New BME across all sites. Bus Travel  from Seattle Washington to Denver capturing many photos on this journey. Caught severe flu and ear infections after many winter weather related travel delays.  That took me out of action for most of January and the first part of February …

2008 January: New BME across all sites. Stock sales happen even when your down and out sick …

2008 February: Joined MostPhotos . Joined Zymmetrical.  BME’s at DT, BSP, SXP, Met stock photographer suwanneeredhead (Stacey Lynn Brown) through interactions as two of the first few Americans on MP . New BME across all sites.

2008 March: set-up first home studio. Continue to improve work for next SS and IS applications as these are the two largest revenue producing sites for a microstock photographer.  BMEs at DT, FT, 123RF, MP . New BME across all sites. 5th BME in a row.

Got my first DSLR …

2008 April: Buy first DSLR:  a used Canon Rebel XTI a.k.a 400D continue to shoot and begin working with fractals for part of my SS applications.  Not a BME … streak broken …

2008 May: Accepted into Shutterstock the last week of the month after to many applications to count.

2008 May: BME at DT.

2008 June: BME’s at SS, BSP, 123RF, MP. First Full month of Revenue from SS. New BME across all sites.

Mungkin faktor usia; segala rampage dan rage yang berlaku di contain dan di pagari dengan cermat dalam kepala hotak. Aku bukan pemuda rebellious di awal usia 20-an lagi. Aku secara tak sedar atau sedar telah mengawal rage itu setakat di minda dan tidak diterjemahkan ke dalam perbuatan. Saban malam aku duduk depan kompiter; nekad mau taip satu entri paling durjana dalam blog meraban ni… sudahnya sejam kemudian yang terhasil adalah entri yang sopan belaka. Umpama anak bujang yang first time tengok anak dara berjalan sopan menunduk tika melintas depan orang tua.. begitulah gamaknya sopan aku ni.

Over my six months of being on SL, I have accumulated quite the collection of clothing.  I thought it would have been harder to pick something to highlight but I came across something at a fashion show a couple weeks ago and I just had to show it to everyone.

They are called Bondage Pants by REBEL.  I know the word bondage might give a certain idea but that isn’t the case at all.  They are called Bondage Pants because of the straps that attach to them, which happen to be my favorite part of the pants.  It isn’t something you see everyday and it creates a rather cool look.  They come in red (as pictured), yellow/black striped, beige/black striped, pink/black striped, white/black striped and red/black striped.  And good news girls … they have them for you as well.

This week’s theme: Horses! For a majority of people who participate in Sunday Stills this will be easy! I’ve never seen so many blogs about horses and ranch life and the such in one place as those who blog for Sunday Stills on a weekly basis. My youngest daughter is in love with horses: any kind, color, age, size. Luckily for her, she has a grandmother who is as equally enamored with this animal and has about ten or so of her own. My mom mostly has Icelandic horses, but like my youngest daughter, isn’t partial to any breed. As for me, I don’t know really anything about them. I can’t differentiate between breeds and can only tell what color they are and if they are big or little. So, without further ado, here are some horses (I told you I don’t know anything about them!):

My morality stems from how I see the world. For me, I live in a system that feels like a prison. So I must rebel.

My conduct in response to how I see the world is to fight back against the system and do things that others seem odd or out of the ordinary. This is why I embraced the idea of wabi-sabi presented in class because I felt that it was an aesthetic rebellion against the current ideas of beauty.

We go to school. We go to work. We all watch the same shows and share the same beliefs of equality. The human race has gotten stuck in a cage of a fake freedom.

It is time to escape this mentality and see that the world has become a cesspool for crime and villainy. It is time to free our minds from what our family and friends, the media and the government tell us.

Rebel against the establishment and create your own anarchy

Since Fiasco ruined our first invasion, we will make them suffer.. Now we will fight and not leave the battle. Pack your bags boys.

Yes, this is the original Stuff Photographers Like.  I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it.

I got inspired to start this by reading the book Stuff White People Like.  I found this book on a bookshelf at one of my best friend’s place.  He is Filipino.  He’s dating a white girl.  I was in the same boat; a non-white helplessly attracted to the American woman.  I wish I had found the book a little earlier, because it contained information that took me forever to figure out on my own.  Needless to say, I’m happily married to the woman of my dreams.  Whew!

Then I came across Stuff Journalists Like.  And Stuff Christians Like.  And.. yes, they’re everywhere!  So as a photographer myself, why not start one of my own?

Now, before we get started, let me remind you of something.  This blog is not meant to, in any way shape or form, ridicule any other photographer’s work.  If you feel you have been ridiculed, then you are probably among the 99.99% that can relate to Stuff Photographers Like.  So be proud… that you’re part of the crowd!   Or just e-mail me and I’ll take down the photo.

At last, LET THE GAMES BEGIN! (drumroll, please…)

#1: The magical, all-encompassing…… “Bridal Glow”

It’s an age-old technique.  It’s been done before.  Over, and over.  And over.

Remember the days when you would get stuck in front of your computer working long hard Photoshop hours, and you can’t figure out why your photos could never quite “pop” like some of the other high-end photographers out there?  Of course you do.  Every photographer has been there.  So you decide to make the bride “pop” as though she is softly shelled in a layer of transparent jelly.  Nice.

Unfortunately, after one wedding (which is already one too many), you realize your dreaded mishap and wish so much that you could take back those photos you gave your poor bride and redo everything.

Wherever she goes, she glows!

You don’t have to be Captain Kirk or Mr. Spock to see that she’s about to get beamed back to Enterprise.

Although, I’ve always wondered what it was like to wear this apparently popular cloak-o-jello…
