Here she is, Hit Girl, in all her Kick-Ass badassedness……The poster doesn’t look too threatening, but the red band trailer is kick ass and pretty effin’ awesome. Played by Chloe Moretz, Hit Girl is just another superhero in the land of Mark Millar’s creation of a graphic novel. This should be better than Wanted and I am quite excited for this.

Watching the teaser for the little assassin that put Gogo Yubari to shame, Hit Girl, gets her own teaser trailer. She is one of the “heroes” spotlighted in the big screen adaptation of the comic book, “Kick-Ass”. The movie comes out April 8, 2010. Put this on your must see list.

Judd Apatows neuer Film “Funny People” (deutsche Übersetzung “Wie das Leben so spielt”) hat einen neuen Trailer.

Als der erfolgreiche Starkomiker George Simmons (Adam Sandler) erfährt, dass er in weniger als einem Jahr an einer unheilbaren Blutkrankheit sterben wird, wird ihm klar, dass er so ziemlich alles außer Freunde und einen echten Sinn im Leben hat. Bei einem Auftritt in einem Club trifft er auf den jungen und noch unerfahrenen Stand-Up-Kollegen Ira (Seth Rogen) und gewinnt ihn kurzerhand als seinen gut bezahlten Opening-Act, Assistenten, Schützling und irgendwie auch als besten Freund.

Die Frage bei diesem Film stellt sich, ob die Kombination mit dem Drama nicht zu überspitzt wirkt, in seinen bisherigen Filmen war es immer eine sehr ausgewogene Mischung, wo es nicht lästig wirkte. Wie der Film letzendlich wird, zeigt sich am 17.09.2009, wenn er in den Kinos anläuft.

I’m loving those red band trailers.  Especially when we get footage like the kind we see in the trailer for Jennifer’s Body.

Doesn’t look all that revolutionary or anything, but I’m excited to see Diablo Cody’s big screen follow up to Juno.  And I think they may have finally found a role that suits Megan Fox to a tee.

Now we all know horror is not usually something you walk away with knowing how to spilt an atom, but seriously. If you are a man or a woman who believes Megan Fox’s little Angelina Jolie impression then this might look like a great movie. But, if you have taste you will just be angry that this piece of crap even exists. And someone should take Diablo’s Oscar from her, pronto.

Jennifer’s Body tells the story of a seemingly-perfect cheerleader whose life is thrown into disarray when she gets possessed by a demon, begins eating boys in her small town, then faces off against her best friend and the Satan-worshipping band that made her evil. Jennifer’s Body stars Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried and written by Oscar winning Diablo Cody.

While we love director Greg Mottola for bringing us Superbad and a handful of episodes of Arrested Development and Undeclared (plus, the supposedly great 1996’s The Daytrippers which we haven’t seen and can’t comment on), and while we are very much looking forward to the upcoming Adventureland (hitting Australia in June), there is one big problem with this new red band trailer:The red band trailer is basically a promo to alert everyone that the film has swearing, sex and drugs in it. We’re happy about this of course but by making this the prime marketing scheme for a film, the people behind the publicity for this film are basically creating an audience of morons who will turn up to this film just to hear the word “fuck”; you know, the sort of dumb frat boy jock who likes to quote incessantly from Family Guy and Napoleon Dynamite instead of saying anything witty of his own accord. We anticipate plenty of awkward conversations at parties in June where “Don’t get all drunk and fall asleep … ’cause I’ll jack off on you face!” will be recited ad hominem.

The story, to be written by the Broken Lizard troupe, revolves around a restaurant owner and former heavyweight champ who pits his wait staff against each other in a “Glengarry Glen Ross”-like competitions.

Cleon Salmon, is a restaurant owner and former heavyweight boxing champion who has to pay off a $20,000 debt pronto, or he will lose his upscale restaurant, the Slammin’ Salmon. Cleon tells his hard-pressed staff that unless they make a 20 grand profit in one night, he will administer major butt-kickings all around. The waiters find themselves embroiled in a no-holds-barred contest for the highest sales – but whether Cleon will make good on his promises of a big bonus to the winner remains to be seen.

Watch a clip from Israel’s Funniest TV show – Red Band

The story of Red Band, in short, goes like this: Red Band (played by Muppets…) was a successful band in Israel during the 60s. After a few years of local fame, the lead singer, Red (the Muppet with purple hair), decided to go to America and become a huge star over there. It didn’t work out as he planned but he did stay in America for 30-40 years doing whatever and now he is back in Israel trying, with his old mates, to put together a comeback tour. The band has a manger and a PR “whore”, a mouse called philip who’s in charge of the drugs, a shrink and many friends in the local music scene. Red speaks only English, everyone else on the show speaks Hebrew. Each episode is dedicated to an Israeli musician who comes in and tries to help the band with their come back. Usually it ends badly, since Red is a horrible person, rude and direct, arrogant, chauvinistic and mean…The musicians who came to the show agree in advance to check their pride and ego at the door, and so each episode makes fun of a different Israeli singer. In between jokes and offensive behavior, the band sings with the guest star, usually a cover to a famous sixty song. The clip I chose is from an episode with Mosh Ben Ari, a famous singer who has a dedicated followers tribe here in Israel. Check it out….

Red Band started as an Israeli street performers group who used Muppet and sang beautiful cover versions to American and English songs on Rothschild St, Tel Aviv. People who would stroll down the boulevard would stop, sing with them, throw some money at their collecting hat, tell their kids something educating about Bob Dylan or the Beatles and carry on… I saw them a few times and thought they were really cool, luckily, I wasn’t the only one… and this year with the help of talented writers like Sharon Kantor, Red Band made it to cable TV.  The first season was great, and you can download it on the internet and laugh your ass off… Remember, only Red, the main character speaks English…but he is the funny one, so if you are stoned enough you’ll be able to enjoy the show even if you don’t understand a word of Hebrew. Plus, the music is awesome!!!!

Trivia Tip: Red Band was the opening act in the Deep Purple concert in Israel this year.

After a hiatus of nearly a decade following the release of American Pie, the red band trailer has made a triumphant return in recent years. With R-rated previews for Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Pineapple Express, Burn After Reading, Tropic Thunder, Knocked Up, etc. becoming hits both in theaters and online, moviegoers are finally getting a more accurate idea of the levels of cursing, nudity, violence, and drug use that the most highly anticipated upcoming movies promise to deliver. Where the red band designation was initally intended to be a deterant and a warning to parents, it has recently become an effective marketing tool – exuding a sense of exclusivity and the forbidden. The red band trailer seems to lend itself particularly well to the comedy, where raunchy, offensive adlibs have become the norm. A couple of memorably objectionable lines from a good red band trailer are usually enough to sell fans on a flick’s potential.

Role Models, the new comedy from director David Wain (“Stella,” “The State,” Wet Hot American Summer) and co-writer/star Paul Rudd (Clueless, Anchorman, The 40 Year Old Virgin), is one of the latest films to jump in on the red band trailer trend. After wrecking the truck they use to promote Minotaur Energy Drink on a school campus, Elizabeth Banks tells Rudd, the cynical pitch man, and Seann William Scott, the womanizing mascot, that they have been sentenced to perform 150 hours of community service at a Big Brothers Big Sisters-type program. Rudd is paired with Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad), a renaissance fair loving dork, and Scott is stuck with Bobb’e J. Thompson (“Human Giant,” Fred Claus), a little, foul-mouthed troublemaker. In the trailer, both Rudd and Scott make ample use of the film’s R-rating, but I’m pretty sure it’s Bobb’e J. Thompson who will have the most quotable lines in the movie.

Highlights of the Role Models red band trailer include: 1)  Rudd and Scott telling a smart ass middle school student that Scott got the Minotaur costume out of the boy’s mother’s closet after he f-ed her. 2)  Jane Lynch telling Rudd and Scott that she used to eat cocaine for breakfast and lunch. 3) Thompson shouting that he doesn’t want to take his pants off right after Scott introduces himself. And, 4) Mintz-Plasse asking Thompson if he means that the medieval themed game he plays is “gay” in the Old English sense of the word. My favorite part of the trailer is when they show a shot of Thompson’s drawing depicting a meeting between Beyoncé, himself, and some sugar. Role Models opened November 7, 2008.
