Louisana native Lil Boosie, real name Torrence Hatch feels he should be subjected to rehab instead of a prison term.

Lil Boosie has a had a fair amount of trouble with the law in the past few months. Since he was arrested and convicted for his third offense for possession of marijuana he then violated his house arrest and was ordered to serve a two year prison term.

Boosie Bad Azz feels he is being so harshly judged because of his rap alter ego and on who he really is, Torrence Hatch.

“If I made a mistake with marijuana, why am I not eligible for rehab?” Boosie questioned. “I’ve been on marijuana since a teenager. I need some rehab. Jail is not rehab.”

“They’re treating me on who they think I am. They judging me on Boosie Bad Azz, not Torrence Hatch,” Boosie stated to Louisiana’s WAFB Channel 9 before starting his sentence. “I had to do these two shows these last two days to feed my family.”

Lil Boosie is currently in custody at Winn Correctional Center in Louisiana, serving his term. Once he is released he will also have to complete five years of probation.

I had a meeting with the folks at the rehab centre I’m supposed to be going to. I have to attend three A.A. meetings a week to get in for January 6th. I’ve been to five meetings so far. At the first one I almost walked out because it seemed like a god cult. If you read the 12 steps, most of them have to do with god, a higher power or what have you. It seemed like a religious program. I’ve ignored the god stuff and I’ve found this program actually is helping me, even after only five meetings. The people who attend seem overly nice, handing out their phone numbers & saying, “Call anytime, even in the middle of the night.” It’s weird, I like it I think, odd.

In other news, my license has been suspended. It took two months for the paperwork to come from the ministry of transportation after my physician ‘told on me’. The paper says something along the lines of… I’m unsafe to drive due to alcohol abuse, my mental state or retardation. One of the three. Or all three. Retard. I’m weighing calling my work & saying I can’t work until after rehab. How will I even get to work if I work all through December? I will have to go back on unemployment insurance & be housebound again. How will I get to these A.A. meetings? Will someone there pick me up? This is such a hassle. The time has passed when I should have had my license suspended. Two months passed. Why now? Annoyance.

Do you believe that a simple action can lead to a domino effect of consequences? The same thing happens when one ventures into real estate investing. One simple project can actually cause a sundry of positive effects to a community. Let’s take a rehabbing project for example.

For a rehabber, a project is simply an opportunity to make profit. He buys a cheap property, makes some improvement, and then sells it to a new owner. He gets his check and moves on to his next project. Little does he know that his job actually brings many changes to the neighborhood where the project is located?

When you rehab a property, you save it from totally ending up a piece of wood idly waiting for kingdom come. Instead of allowing a house to go into waste, you give it new life. In a way, you are helping conserve Mother Nature. You “recycle” a home, preventing the need for more trees to be cut and new material to be produced.
As a rehabber, you also increase the value of homes near your project. Basic real estate investing rules state that the more livable properties there are in an area, the higher the collective value of the properties. The values of properties in an area also increase when there are less dilapidated houses.

Believe it or not, you help in crime prevention when you rehab properties. When you repair a dilapidated property, you save it from further damage inflicted by vandals. You are preventing the property from becoming a den of vice and crime. Vacant and dilapidated properties are often occupied by culprits and use them as a base for illicit activities like drug trade. The absence of a crime den leads to a decrease in the crime rate.

Because of the lower crime rate, more traders will be encouraged to open shop that in area. More shops mean more trade and business for residents. This also translates to more jobs available. As a result, jobless people contemplating on committing poverty crimes like theft and robbery will have legit options. Hopefully, they apply for employment. You can also directly help increase employment opportunities for locals by hiring them as workers in your rehabbing project. This will help strengthen the local economy and improve the lives of people in that area.

Although you don’t have to take credit for the “accidental benefits,” you can take comfort in knowing that you are helping people when you venture into real estate investing. Visit REIwired.com today for more information on this kind of investing.

Marijuana and other drug users are sentenced to treatment they don’t need on a regular basis.

Marijuana and other drug users are sentenced to treatment they don’t need on a regular basis. The private addiction treatment industry thrives on the thousands of “addicts” coerced into treatment by courts. Drug courts frequently give defendants the option to take rehab or prison time. Nearly 300,000 people each year choose rehab over prison when charged with marijuana possession in Canada and the US. Marijuana is not considered an addictive drug (Addiction Myth) so why send people to rehab?

The DEA, PDFA and other anti-drug groups use these statistics to show that marijuana is addictive. From the DEA website:

In 2003, 20 per cent (185,239) of the 919,833 adults admitted to treatment for illegal drug abuse cited marijuana as their primary drug of abuse.

Very few of those sentenced to rehab need or want treatment. In fact the US Department of Health and Human Services admits that 37% of nearly 300,000 people who entered drug treatment for cannabis in 2007 had not reported using the drug in the 30 days previous to their admission (detailed pie chart). The corporations that run addiction treatment facilities like all corporations only care about making money. Many addiction centres have unqualified staff who are members of the program themselves.

Source: 2002 SAMHSA Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS).

This graph shows marijuana admissions compared to other drugs. It is clear which ones are addictive (Opiates, Cocaine I’m looking at you). Check out this graph showing the sources of rehab program admission in the US: Pie Chart

For centuries addiction was treated as a demonic possession. It was assumed that addiction was the cause of possession by evil spirits. Treatments included exorcism and trepanation (drilled holes in addicts head to release the demons). It is clear to us now why the evil spirits model was abandoned but the disease model is not much better.

Rehab centres promote the disease model of addiction. This method ignorantly assumes that drug addiction can be treated as an illness. And the illness led people, through no fault of their own, to problematic substance abuse. Through this model blame on the addict is minimized and the importance of medical treatment is emphasized. You don’t here anyone telling an AIDS patient to “Snap out of it” or “Go cold turkey”. Addiction is not caused by bacteria, virus, or genes as real diseases are. Major drawbacks of the disease model include increased risk of relapse and dependence on medical treatments. It is easy to see why the rehab industry likes this model.

One rehab company, Narconon, is actually run by the church of Scientology. It is basically a recruiting program for the church. Patients spend from $10,000 to $30,000 and spend 3 to 4 months at Narconon facilities (Sources link1, link2). Another company Straight inc. used a very aggressive approach to drug rehabilitation. They would continually humilate patients and used brainwashing techniques. Over 40 suicides have been committed in Straight facilities. Hundreds of cases of physical, mental and sexual abuse eventually led to Straight Inc going out of business. From Wikipedia:

The Fairfax, Virginia location was cited and shut down for 76 violations of client’s rights, including, but not limited to educational neglect, sleep, food and water deprivation, unlawful physical restraints, inadequate medical care, lack of trained or qualified staff, and allegations of non-reported sexual and physical abuse that resulted in paid lawsuits to several former clients. Many former patients of Straight have formed ’survivor groups’ assembling themselves in small numbers seeking a means to understand the trauma suffered and supporting one another in grasping the reality of what happened in their lives.

Several clones of Straight Inc popped up after it was sued out of existence. One such facility Alberta Adolescent Recovery Center (AARC) in Calgary, Alberta is still in operation. AARC uses a controversial “tough love” approach which involves humiliation, constant confessions and confrontational therapy. Graduates and near graduates of the AARC program, called “peer councillors”, handle many of the sessions. Internet, TV, reading and calendars are banned. Patients are continually broken down until they admit that they have a disease. All this for $50,000 per year.

One young woman was admitted to AARC and labelled a “stage 4 addict” when she wasn’t addicted to any drugs. She was abused daily and raped once. Rachel escaped after 5 months and later came forward to the media and police. Several former AARC patients have reported physical and sexual abuse. (Article, “Powerless” Documentary)

Drug problems for most of human history have been treated as bad habits similar to chewing your fingernails. That is really what an addiction is. Early in the twentieth century beginning in the United States the medical industry stepped in and declared addiction a medical condition. This gave power and money to medical communities. Other human troubles have been dragged into the medical realm as well. Overmedicalization seems to have taken Western society hostage. There are real drug addicts out there who need help; chose your help carefully. Sending people to rehab just to create statistics does not help anyone.

It is really hard not to look at pornography. It’s really difficult when you wake up at 4.30am

It is really hard not to look at pornography. It’s really difficult when you wake up at 4.30am with a troubled mind not to use porn like you might take an Ambian.

Being sober for 13 years, sadly Ambian is out of the question. I have no option other than to sit with uncomfortable feelings until they go away-or climb Runyon with the dogs.

When I first moved to Paris in my late teens I stayed in a small room on the Rue de l’Universite. I had no idea why I was there other than I had escaped my country, my family, my other life. I was in shock. A refugee. At first the mere prospect of walking the streets terrified me. I found a bottle of sleeping pills, I would masturbate then take a pill, waking up many hours later only to repeat this sad ritual until all the pills had gone. Like heroin, a rush then a deep sleep. I have a very selective memory (forgetting people especially) but I remember these days as if I had just lived them. I remember the stains on the sheets, the empty bottle and the relief I felt when I left the room and walked back into the city.

I have only recently learned how to live in my own body. To exist in my own skin, within the parameters of the life laid down before me. I have only recently learned to trust the next step forward. You may think that I am confident, dressing up in tiaras and laughing with my friends but my bravado masks, and has always masked, a profound sense of discomfort.

When they sent me to prison, after the initial shock of being sentenced, I loved most every moment of it. The routine, the food, my cellmate, my cell, the language, the echo, the vast and towering Victorian halls. There is something very operatic about a British prison.

I was never scared in prison-my basic needs were always met. I was never attacked or picked on-after all my crime was a JOKE! Being sent to prison for not paying a credit card bill. I felt like an anthropologist in prison-visiting a foreign land. I felt the same in the Pasadena Recovery Center. I was visiting the land of reality TV, the land of mass media, the land of shattered dreams and unrealistic expectations. It was the second great act of my operatic adventure.

(If only my life were an opera.)

I loved being in Rehab exactly like I loved being in prison. Drew thought that I would leave Sex Rehab within the week-he was sure of it. He had no idea just how much I desired incarceration. How much I love having my options removed. How much I relish my own death. I immediately loved my fellow inmates in Rehab far more than I could love them in the world. The depth of love I felt for them could never be replicated beyond the walls of the rehab. My coconspirators. My brothers and my sisters. Equally the loathing I felt for the producer and production team was rarely masked. It perfectly replicated my prison/hospital experience. My fellow prisoners/patients and the guards/nurses who looked over us.

You see, I was born to be fearless. I was born to take risks. To be an artist and a gardener and a butler and a saint.

So, when I wake up in the morning and I don’t masturbate to porn-I choose life. I choose not to throw a warm blanket over my feelings and start the day raw.

Jennie and I walked Runyon yesterday. It was beautiful up there. It is always beautiful up there looking down from Mulholland over the great, gasping city of LA.

I had the oddest memory. New Years Eve twenty years ago in a huge New York club-taking ecstasy, being really fucked up and thirsty and not being able to find water. I am with Camille and Gulshan. The water in the bathroom had been switched off forcing people to buy bottles. There are no bottles left. Nobody would give us a sip of their water. There were acrobats above us and I thought to myself-this is what hell is. This is what hell is.

Oh yeah-fuck you Tyra for not having me on your show-but actually I don’t care, she’s too tabloid – even for an attention hound like me.

Just read an article about Narconon, a two-phase, Drug Rehab Program, with a distinct series of step

Just read an article about Narconon, a two-phase, Drug Rehab Program, with a distinct series of steps to help drug recovery. Drug addiction not only destroys the lives of the person using the drugs, but also has a huge impact on the family and friends of that person. Many people do not know where to turn to get help for those they love when it comes to drug addiction. Drug addicts generally withdraw from the people who know and love them. This alone is one of the biggest problems that the drug abuser suffers and further increases the users need for drugs creating a catch 22.

The program at Narconon covers all aspects of the patients lives, which is essential to a help fully recover from this addiction. Helping their patients through the tough withdrawal period, along with organizing and retraining the person in how to live a drug free life is Narconons main purpose. This comprehensive program has had a huge amount of rehab success. Phase one consists of Drug Free Withdrawal, Communication, Detoxification, and Learning Improvement. Phase two includes Communication and Perception, Personal Values and Integrity, Changing Conditions in Life and After Care Planning.

Successful results at the end of the program can include:

Greater mental acuity

Stronger relationships with "healthy" individuals who are not a liability to the person

Increased sense of well-being

The ability to live independently

Help achieving high personal integrity and honesty

The elimination of the bio-physical drug craving.

How do I feel about being excluded from Oprah’s Sex Rehab special? You may well ask dear blog reade

How do I feel about being excluded from Oprah’s Sex Rehab special? You may well ask dear blog readers. I feel PISSED OFF! The producer are blatantly, rampantly homophobic. The producer’s excuse? They didn’t want to confuse the issue of sex addiction with a gay story. FUCK YOU OPRAH! Confuse the story? That’s a strange excuse because shame based societies like the African American community and Gay Communities have the highest incidence of sex addiction/sexual compulsion. There are plenty similarities between her and me. Pity she wasn’t prepared to have a sex addict on her show who actually works a solid 12-step programme. There you go I broke my SAA anonymity.

Whilst we are at it-what the hell is Drew doing on these shows pretending he knows jack about sex addiction? The woman who did all the work on the show was sex therapist Jill Vermiere! Drew speaks in the broadest terms about addiction but really-he knows nothing about sex addiction.

Drew’s specialty is substance abuse, but his real speciality is damage control-turning up at hotel rooms and coaxing heroin addicts into rehab. Coaxing crack addicts off of roofs etc. Most days in sex rehab I worked with Jill. If I could even bear looking at Drew he was mostly baffled by what was going on-by the depth of emotion, by our commitment to do the work. It was because of Jill that we did the work. She too has been silenced in all of this high octane press shenanigan-the two real recovering sex addicts have had their voices stolen firstly by Drew then by Oprah.

Mostly, though, I am seething about the media’s approach to anything gay. Our stories are never integrated hence we are never integrated. It would not surprise me if it were a big old gay boy who made decision not to have me on the show-after all us gays do the most damage to each other.

Did Oprah and her people forget that the gays have been her very loyal fans? But let’s face it we were Obama’s biggest fans and look how far that has got us. Frankly, Oprah, what HAVE you done for the gay community recently? Did you forget about us or are we just not powerful enough? The gay community supported the election of President Obama. The black community did not return the favor by supporting us in the Prop 8 battle. Why?

Don’t worry, I am not on Tyra either. Same reason. Poor excuse eh?

Drug addicts, alcoholics, smokers and psychological addictions. Sure, we know of them. We hear about

Drug addicts, alcoholics, smokers and psychological addictions. Sure, we know of them. We hear about them all the time in the news, movies, tabloids, etc. Most can name at least one addict they know, or that a friend knows, or just a celebrity. But what is it really like to be an addict? How would it feel to have a close relative, friend, or lover destroying him or herself with harmful habits and not being able to do anything about it? That’s what A&E’s show “Intervention” does; it provides a glimpse of an addict’s life and the effects on others—something we may not have experienced ourselves. Then the show sends the addict, who thinks that he or she is just doing interviews, off to treatment with, well, an unexpected intervention. “Joey,” an episode from the show’s seventh season that aired on August 10, 2009, follows the same course as all of the others…until it doesn’t. This twist makes the episode worth watching, especially if you are a regular viewer…or if you want to see a cameraman get knocked down.

Joey, 25, a dedicated tattoo artist, spends all of his earnings on bags of heroin. His parents divorced when he was three and both remarried. Joey didn’t feel that his father loved him, and when he and his mother moved from the city to the suburbs, he felt that he didn’t fit in with the other kids. Okay, yeah. Every addict usually starts with some emotional trigger. So Joey became addicted to several drugs at 13; his mother sent him to various outpatient rehab centers, which never helped Joey. At 18 he swiped his mother’s credit cards and ended up in jail for a year, where he learned and perfected the art of creating tattoos. Isn’t prison great? Afterwards, Joey went into treatment and his mother gave him $5,000 to begin his career as a tattoo artist. She even gave him a house—all of course on the premise that he remains clean. Bad move, Mom. Joey attended support groups and learned the 12-steps while finding a girlfriend, Sarah…and then got her pregnant. Joey, predictably, spiraled down back into the arms of heroin.

Viewers get to watch Joey shoot up and witness his self-destructive lifestyle. The camera shifts back and forth between Joey’s life and interviews with his family and Sarah. One of the great things that “Intervention” does is that throughout the show, viewers see a black screen with white lettering, which provides information about heroin’s adverse effects, facts about Joey, and anything more to help the viewer understand what others don’t say to the camera. In a way, the show does help people learn drugs’ effects on human bodies, and how an addict’s life is never ideal. Still, viewers have to hear the show’s over-the-top, dramatic music playing for every little emotional scene. Producers Robert Sharenow, Colleen Conway, Dan Partland and Sam Mettle manipulate mundane actions for dramatic effect; after all, they have to make money. It’s all for television.

Each “Intervention” has one of the main intervention specialists (don’t ask me if that’s a real career) lead the intervention, where all of the relatives gather around the addict, who enters thinking it’s his or her last interview. Aha, it’s all been a scam! You’re going to be forced into treatment! Joey gets Ken Seeley, a rather pompous man who is more a camera model than any specialist. Only in this episode, Seeley actually has to do something—in fact a lot of things—that he’s never had to do before. He gets nervous when the episode turns off its regular course and doesn’t achieve a quick resolution. Well, Ken Seeley’s human. That’s something.

The hour-long show normally runs Mondays at 9 p.m. on A&E, but to watch this particular episode, you can go to A&E’s Web site: www.aetv.com. If you want to see “Intervention” change from its usual pattern, this is the show to see. And if you want to know if Joey ever cleans up, the show checks in usually for two three-month periods. It’s a decent, real-life look at how, after intense treatment, some addicts recover and some return to their damaging behaviors.

The secret underground work of intervention… ssshhhhh! Don’t tell the neighbors we are having an intervention.

Maybe you have seen A&E channels show “Intervention? Maybe you watch the show “The Cleaner” ? Even though more attention than ever is being brought to the world of intervention, it is still a subject surrounding that damn social stigma of addiction – and nobody wants to admit they need to know how this works!

We have invited Travis Gardner, a licensed interventionist to share his expertise in our upcoming Resource Directory and as a preview, I am sharing it with you here.

Intervention Description and 10 Qualifying Questions

Pathway Interventions- The Drug and Alcohol Intervention Specialists

Addiction affects millions of American families, businesses and communities everyday. This epidemic is not diminishing nor is it relinquishing its hold on our everyday life. So what do we do? How do we treat addiction and free the American people from this horrific disease? <ins datetime="2009-11-19T18:53" cite="mailto:%20"></ins>

Many of us are aware of drug and alcohol treatment programs. Residential or inpatient, outpatient, addiction counseling, medication and community outreach programs are part of a wide variety of treatment modalities available for treating addiction. Although some of the treatment modalities are more effective and successful than others when implemented for addiction help. Not everyone is willing to accept help for their addiction to drugs or alcohol. There are those who are in denial of their addiction, or opposed to seeking treatment, or have the attitude of not caring about their future. What can we do for them? What is available for the millions of families, friends and loved ones who have someone in this particular population?

There are two options for dealing with the defiant addicts in the population; 1) do an intervention or 2) do what we have already been doing and hope something changes before something tragic happens. Only one of these two options has the highest opportunity to a happy and successful ending. That option is to do an intervention on the addicted individual. <ins datetime="2009-11-19T18:57" cite="mailto:%20"></ins>

Many of us may not fully comprehend an intervention or how they work and if they even work at all. Surprisingly, interventions have an 85% or higher success rate. So, what is an intervention?

An intervention is an orchestrated<ins datetime="2009-11-19T18:58" cite="mailto:%20">,</ins> family attempt to get their loved one into treatment for a harmful addiction. There are typical questions about the process: How does an intervention work? What does an interventionist do that can help? The intervention process is a very delicate and strategic approach that is best executed by a professional interventionist. Addiction interventionists teach families how to confront their loved ones’ addiction with full intention that the intervention ends with the addict entering treatment. The Interventionist does this by educating the family on what causes, perpetuates and treats addiction. They will teach every intervention team member what works and does not work regarding verbally, physically, and emotionally confronting the one they love about their problem. Most Interventionists will have a list of a multitude of treatment centers across the country from which the family can chose, based on geographical suitability and financial resources, as well as feasibility for transporting the candidate to treatment.. Verification of insurance benefits will be tracked and implemented into the process used to choose the best facility for the addict by the interventionist when insurance is available. <ins datetime="2009-11-19T19:05" cite="mailto:%20"></ins>

Interventionists will also teach the family how to stop enabling the addict and being co-dependent. They will work with the family members on maintaining their emotional stability by providing references, tools and introducing new behaviors and beliefs about dealing with addiction. The newly found behaviors, beliefs and agreements that the family introduces into their life will ultimately free them from the grips of addiction, and allow for maximum family support for the addict.

The job of an interventionist is not just getting the loved one into treatment, their job is to fully secure every opportunity for them to accept treatment and to allow the family to receive the freedom from the addictive behavior and destruction. The Interventionist helps the family develop a systematic and structured letter from each team member to the addict which ensures proper communication. Recognition of avenues towards identifying acceptance, proper intervention procedures and lines of communication will be rehearsed and practiced prior to the intervention. If the addicted individual objects to accepting help, the interventionist will have prepared the team with methods for how to overcome those objections which leave the addicted individual no avenues of escaping the opportunity for treatment. <ins datetime="2009-11-19T19:11" cite="mailto:%20"></ins>

The preparation for the intervention may take up to two days. The length of the intervention is determined by many variables, and can take a minimum of an hour, or up to a couple of hours to facilitate.

An intervention is a process! The intervention is not an event! Therefore, when choosing a drug or alcohol Interventionist there should be specific qualifications to look for when choosing the professional you will use, in order to maximize the effectiveness of the process. In the selection process, when researching intervention companies and private entities, you must ask ten questions before you choose the professional who will facilitate your family intervention.

Are they a Board Certified Interventionist or Nationally Certified?

a. They should be board certified or nationally certified as an interventionist. Therapists, Medical Doctors and counselors are not trained in interventions and this lack of specialized training will minimize the chance of success.

Do they have documentation of their credentials?

a. Have the documentations sent to you via fax, mail or email to ensure creditability.

Are they in recovery from drugs or alcohol themselves?

a. The experience gained by first hand knowledge of addiction can not be taught in school. You must hire someone who is in recovery themselves so they may relate to the intervention candidate.

How many interventions have they facilitated?

Look for a minimum of 100 interventions performed with a success rate of 85% or better.

Do they have references from families or clients that they have worked with?

a. Ask them for permission to speak to a family member or client that they have worked with.

Do they offer any type of guarantee for the services they provide?

a. Some Interventionists will work with the family until the individual enters into a program, no matter how long it may take.

Does their intervention process include locating treatment, family support and ensuring the safety of the candidate?

a. You want to make sure that treatment options, family and client support and safety is provided by the Interventionist.

Do they offer the family free life-time support and consultation following the intervention?

Addiction recovery is a life-long process that may require the opportunity for follow-up and consulting to assist in their recovery success and the families’ emotional stability by the Interventionist.

Do they use ultimatums or threats to produce a successful intervention?

a. Threats and ultimatums are not usually successful tools to use with addicts. Find out if they use ultimatums as a tool for gaining acceptance or do they offer the addict a gift and teach the family how to protect themselves from the destructive behavior of the active addict.

10. Why and how did they choose this profession?

This will give you the opportunity to use your intuition and emotional feelers to determine if this individual is compatible with your values morally and spiritually in such a way that they are connected to your family system and can facilitate a family intervention.

Believe it or not, you only need one thing to secure financing from hard money lenders. It is not yo

Believe it or not, you only need one thing to secure financing from hard money lenders. It is not your credit report, not even a proof of income. To tap this unique form of financing, all you need to do is bring a good deal to the table.

See it this way: you, as an investor, will not put your money into something you know will surely result in nothing. In the same way, these lenders only want to fund good deals. But how exactly do we define a good one? As simple as it gets, a good deal is one that will lead to profit.

In the case of rehabbers, a good deal is a house that will sell high. That means that the fixer upper, or whatever cheap property you will buy, has a huge potential. In short, it must be good enough to be a collateral. They will examine the property and your plans for it. If they see that your plans are worth investing in, expect your funding to be released in just a few days.

This system of assessing borrowers is one reason why hard money lenders take just days in processing loan applications. Banks and other traditional lenders, on the other hand, can take a month to process your loan. By that time, another investor could have bought the property you wanted to acquire and rehab. Traditional lenders take time because they carefully screen borrowers. They scrutinize their credit report and score. They also lend money only to those whom they think have the capacity to repay the loan based on their current income and other assets. This is their way of making sure they do not lose money when lending to borrowers. So how do hard money lenders ensure they don’t lose money?

Actually they can’t. That is why they are walking on thin ice whenever they lend money. They release loans even to those who have poor credit scores so they are more susceptible to defaults. To complement the higher risk, one thing they do is use higher interest rates. This is their only chance of making up for what they lose. An 18% interest for loans is common when it comes to hard money.

Now you’ll wonder, “why do investors use this kind of financing even when it uses a higher interest rate?” Simple: because it is easy and fast. You acquire it in just days, so you are able to beat competition off when buying properties. It is easy because you don’t even need to have a high credit score to gain access to this kind of financing. What more reasons why you should use befriend hard money lenders?
Malibu Sunday

The day Sex Rehab airs I read twitter posts avidly. East coast viewers are the first to start letting me know the content of each episode. Today, for instance, I know that Kari Ann’s Miss Teen America tiara arrives in the Rehab. A request I made of her so I could wear it. I have always wanted to wear a Miss America crown. The irony is not lost on me. The gaudy iconography of a teen queen. As soon as I knew Kari Ann I wanted her crown. I have no idea if my requests will be screened but she really had no intention of bringing the crown into rehab until I demanded it.

Consequently Kari Ann taught me how to walk like a Princess, answer teen queen catwalk questions, sang the pageant anthem as I sashayed around the rehab garden wearing her crown. I loved it so much. I loved her crown even though it was a bit beaten up-when they took away her title she had thrown it at the wall.

Don’t you just love that scene in the movie when the teen queen throws her crown at the wall? It’s a great scene.

“Miss teen America is founded on the principle that the future of our world is dependent upon the leadership qualities of today’s youth. We believe that involvement in community service should be both encouraged and rewarded. We further believe that in order to become a strong leader a young woman must be a well-rounded individual. She must challenge herself scholastically, she must be poised, and she must be comfortable with herself in respect to her learned and natural talents. She must possess a strong desire to effect a change in her world, and to set an example for others to do the same. In the spirit of competition, she must be gracious. With this in mind, we provide the forum for young women to challenge themselves to be their best, and we reward them for their efforts.”

Poor Kari Ann, how was she ever going to be all the above snorting meth every day? Engaging in soft pornography and making sex tapes with Rebecca Gayheart? The problem is: she was a nice normal girl before LA bit her in her fat ass.

Gloria Steinham might disagree. Feminists might say that she is merely empowering herself. I doubt it though. Jenny Ketcham is empowering herself. She is an American Writer and will only grow in stature and relevance. Kari Ann will become even more irrelevant than she already is.

As much as she was a pain in the ass I really became fond of Kari Ann. I know that this might be hard to believe but when you get to truly ‘know’ a person-regardless of wether you ever see them again-they tend to linger in your heart.

When Kari Ann wasn’t teaching me how to be a Miss Teen America I was teaching James how to knit-which he took too with some gusto. My grandmother taught me how to knit when I was five years old. The surfer dude was a joy to teach.

Fuck! I hate how the editors have edited Sex Rehab. It’s a pile of shit.

Update. Eric, Jenny, Justin and I went to b’day party in Santa Monica. It was situated in a dance studio. There were gays for me to goad and straights for me to tease. We left before midnight. I slept well. Strangely the little dog preferred to sleep on the sofa. Whilst we were at the party Luna stayed in the bathroom with her bone and damage, when I returned, was minimal. I think it gave the little dog some time away from Luna’s frantic puppy behavior too.

Did not fret about blood clots. In fact, gave them very little thought all day.

More will be revealed.

I want my former body back!

Dumslarv no more!

Onsdag: Morgonyoga + TRX
Torsdag (Thanksgiving): Heated Vinyasa Yoga
Fredag (Black Friday): Styrka + PW på löpband med hög lutning
Lördag: Heated Vinyasa Yoga
Söndag: Vila

(News of the World)

Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil are planning to marry again – in just three months’ time. The troubled singer proposed to her ex-hubby and he said Yes! Yes! Yes!

Blake told a close pal: “We both know we’ve only ever been divorced on paper. This is the right thing to do.”

She was snapped flashing a sparkler on her engagement finger on Friday night. Ex-druggie Blake celebrated with a friend over a beer in Sheffield – where he is being forced to attend a rehab centre.

He told the pal: “It’s the engagement ring I gave Amy the first time. I think it cost £2,000 from Tiffany. We’ve been talking on the phone five or six times a day. On Friday she told me she was going to put the engagement ring on. We’d changed our status to married on Facebook a couple of weeks back but that was more of a laugh. This is the real deal. She told me she wanted to get married again. I feel so happy.”

I can’t help fearing the worst for these two who yo-yo in and out of love. And they’re not exactly getting off to a good start. The wedding planning will have to be done from afar because Blake isn’t allowed back to London until February under the terms of his prison release.

But he has vowed to stay faithful now, admitting he had been with other women (including stripper Lauren McDermott) over the past two months.

“I’m not going to go near anyone else,” he insisted. “I’ve discussed it with Amy. She understood we both had to try and move on. But I think deep down she always knew we’d tie the knot again.”

It’s Saturday night do you know where your 5&1 is at? It’s late, I know, I should be

It’s Saturday night do you know where your 5&1 is at?

It’s late, I know, I should be in bed.

The husband and I continued to work on the kitchen this evening after taking the dogs on a 4 mile hike.

Very interesting finds tonight. Remember the beige paint? Here is what is interesting and yet very concerning. We were able to get a 5&1 on top of the beige paint, under all the other layers and pull it from the wall. For the most part this stuff started to come off in sheets. There are areas that are still adhered to the wall that we scraped down to the white primer from long ago. We have a feeling that by morning we will be able use the same technique. The beige is the very first color that was ever painted on the walls. I recall when I was stripping the old cabinet that paint stripper wouldn’t touch this stuff. So what the hell is it? What is it made of? It is a paint product from 1943-1947. Nothing adheres to this stuff. How do you seal it?

Before:

After:

The bottom of the north wall is hit. It is actually pushed out and shattered. We will have “B” come over on Monday and assess the actual damage and make a decision how far up to tear out if not the whole north wall. The material the wall is made out of has this board like stuff behind the grainy/concert with a skim coat of plaster over it. It is the board like material that is worrisome.

All in all we had gotten a lot done tonight. I am tired and I need to be up early in the morning to get a jump on this so we can prime out the walls on Tuesday. The north wall will have to be fixed right after Thanksgiving. Time is running out and we still have the damn floor to deal with prior to the install of the new kitchen cabinets.

On a happy note the pulls and latches came this week. Woooo Hoooo!

There are more photos here.
