Als Gameloft erwähnte, das missionsbasierte Rennspiel Driver aus dem Jahre 1999 für iPhone und iPod Touch zu remaken, ging die Frage um sich, ob es denn auch tatsächlich an das Playstation und PC Original von damals herankommen könnte. Jegliche Zweifel an die Qualität vom kommenden Driver Remake haben keinerlei Daseinsberechtigung, wenn man sich die folgende Screenshots und Informationen ansieht.

Wie man sehen kann, wurde die Grafik Engine sogar verbessert und wirkt nicht mehr so verpixelt, wie die Playstation Version. Die neue iPhone & iPod Touch Version verwendet schärfere Texturen und brillantere Farben. Fans der ursprünglichen Spieles beschwerten sich über den hohen Schwierigkeitsgrad. Das hat sich Gameloft zu Herzen genommen und bietet neben der originalen Schwierigkeitsstufe auch ein leichtere für Gelegenheitsspieler an. Damit dürfte die berüchtigte Garagenmission auch für Normalsterbliche zu schaffen sein. Gameloft verspricht sogar die gleiche Physik Engine des Originals zu verwenden. Das einzige, was nicht aus der Originalfassung übernommen wurde, soll aufgrund der Komplexität der Filmeditor sein.

De acordo com a coluna Zapping da Folha Online, a atriz Regina Duarte, intérprete de outras Helenas das novelas de Manoel Carlos, defendeu a interpretação de Tais Araújo em “Viver a Vida”, que vem sendo alvo de críticas por alguns órgãos da mídia:

Com três Helenas no currículo, em “História de Amor”, “Por Amor” e “Páginas da Vida”, Regina Duarte disse estar adorando a interpretação de Tais Araújo. “Acho a novela ótima e estou amando a Tais. Ela é uma grande atriz, passa sinceridade e entrega”, disse ela, durante a entrega do prêmio Profissionais do Ano, terça à noite. Sobre as críticas negativas que Tais Araújo têm recebido, a veterana explica: “Minhas Helenas eram mulheres mais simples. Não uma modelo gloriosa, que começou por cima. O público está acostumado a torcer para a heroína chegar lá”. Regina disse ainda que quando vê Helena chorando tem vontade de colocar Tais em seu colo.

Qual não foi a minha alegria quando li pela primeira vez que um dos meus filmes favoritos da época de ogrinho seria refilmado! Isso mesmo, você leu “alegria” e “refilmado” na mesma frase. Não sei porque, mas tenho levado muita fé nesse remake do mega clássico de 1981 “Clash Of Titans” (“Fúria de Titãs” aqui na República das Bananas).

Talvez seja pelas proporções colossais que o filme pode tomar por conta de um orçamento generoso. Quem sabe pela escalação dos fodásticos Liam Neeson e Ralph Fiennes como Zeus e Hades, respectivamente, e de Sam Worthington – que me convenceu de que dá pro gasto depois de sua atuação em “Terminator – Salvation” – como o protagonista Perseu.

Aliás, aproveitando o ensejo sobre o elenco, é muito bom ver mais uma vez Liam Neeson num papel de destaque. O cara é um montro, tem uma imponência única, e nada mais justo que ele ser o responsável por dar vida ao deus supremo da mitologia grega. Se você ainda precisa ser convencido do quanto esse ator é um badass motherfucker (Há!), assista ao último filme de ação estrelado por ele, “Taken” (“Busca Implacável” pros lados de cá). Simplesmente um deleite pros fãs do gênero.

Mas o que realmente me fez colocar ainda mais fé em “Clash Of Titans” foi o trailer recentemente lançado. Acredito que podemos aguardar algo épico, grandioso mesmo. Ótimos efeitos, trilha sonora magnífica e a promessa de sequências de ação de tirar o fôlego (clichê detected, há!) são os destaques do vídeo liberado pela Warner Bros.

Esse é o momento do post em que eu deveria resumir o enredo do filme né? Não, me recuso! Estamos falando de  um clássico dos anos 80 e se você ainda não assistiu, corra até a sua locadora e alugue. É requisito básico para qualquer amante do cinema com mais de 20 anos de idade. Mordi!

“Clash Of Titans” é dirigido por Louis Leterrier (“O Incrível Hulk”) e estréia dia 2 de abril de 2010. Alguém aí está tão ansioso quanto eu?

Scotland’s very own Proper Games, developer of the brilliant Xbox Live Arcade title Flock! has today revealed that it is working on a revamped version of Capcom’s scrolling beat-em-up Final Fight for 2010.

The game will be available as a digital download via Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Store under the name Final Fight: Double Impact, which includes a glorious HD version of the original arcade smash, along with a second game, Capcom’s fantasy side-scroller Magic Sword.

So far no price has been revealed, but if you haven’t had a chance to play Final Fight before, I strongly recommend that you do when this tasty twin-pack lands next year.

What do we know now?: Pretty much the same plot. Tim Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, and Joe Anderson star. Breck Eisner is directing.

Ele está de volta

Quem foi adolescente entre o final da década de 80 e início da de 90, sem dúvida se apavorou com o figurão Freddy Krueger. Pois ele está de volta.

Depois de dirigir os dois filmes de Transformers, Michael Bay resolveu dar uma de produtor e é o responsável pelo remake de A Hora Do Pesadelo, a ser lançado em 2010. Freddy está de volta para aterrorizar novos adolescentes! veja trailer abaixo.

Pelo visto o roteiro segue a mesma linha, mas a face tostada do monstrengo está “renovada”. No trailer oficial (acima) não dá pra ver muita coisa, mas empresa NECA, que produzirá os bonecos licenciados da franquia, divulgou uma foto do personagem. Já dá pra ter uma boa idéia de como será. Confira:

The trailer for the new Nightmare on Elm Street trailer didn’t really show Freddy’s face – turned out the effects were still being worked on but they had said they’d done a lot of research regarding burn injuries.

Now Figures.com had this photo of Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy and we can now see that he does look a little different to the original. Definitely a more burn victim look.

I think it will work in the film. What do you think of Freddy’s face?

One of my favourite point and click adventures of all time has to be the completely brilliant The Day of the Tentacle from Lucas Arts. I cannot count the number of times I have played through this fantastic game.

As most people know, Day of the Tentacle was a sequal to the very first SCUMM adventure worked on by none other than the famous Ron Gilbert, first and foremost known for the Monkey Island games. Tim Schafer was also involved in both projects, and I am talking of course about none other than Maniac Mansion.

Some illuminated heads over at the AGS community has made it their task to remake Maniac Mansion in the style of the fabilous Day of the Tentacle. Maniac Mansion has been remade before, but not in the hilarious graphical style of its sequal.

From what has been released of the material, it looks like a crispy, yet classic looking version of the beloved masterpiece. The developers are wished the best of luck.

This ought to be good new for any nostalgic fan of the old school adventures. The developers are German, but they promise to create an English version once the production is finished. I, for one, can’t wait to play Maniac Mansion DOTT-style.

He recibido últimamente la visita de Bubo. Dado que originalmente, Bubo es un regalo de los dioses, me siento muy honrado por su visita. Además es muy majete.Y siempre trae buenas nuevas.

En ésta ocasión, nuestro búho divino ha traido un pedazo de trailer. Se trata de el remake de Furia de Titanes, una de las grandes películas de monstruos de mi niñez. La vimos en Ceuta, un día de diario, de improviso. Mi padre nos puso en marcha y nos llevó a verla al cine Cervantes. Fue una tarde increíble.

Si el lector no la ha visto, la recomendamos aquí enérgicamente. Harry Hamlin, peinado por su peor enemigo, las pasa canutas con el croma, y como consecuencia, planea por el metraje dando palos de ciego. Pero, como encarna a Perseo, no le queda otra que arreglárselas como sea, ayudado por el hecho de que el público ha ido a ver las criaturas, y no a él. Y los monstruos son la cañita, y la acumulación de efectos especiales hacen un conjunto muy vistoso y altamente entretenido.

Perseo, como su nombre indica, ¡siempre se las arregla!

El encargado de las criaturas era Ray Harryhausen, el maestro de la stop-motion, y Furia de Titanes es una película para el lucimiento de las criaturas. Mi personaje preferido es Bubo, y conste que no lo digo porque nos haya hecho una visita, sino porque lo creo así de verdad.

Es que es muy majete.

Bueno, pues aquí va el trailer del remake. Suba el volumen y amplíe la pantalla. Un trailer espectacular.

Clash of the Titans. Furia de Titanes. Rock n’ roll

Joshua Jackson, star of “Fringe” and “Dawson’s Creek”, has landed the role of “Paul Foster” in the big screen remake of Gerry Anderson’s seventies cult TV series “UFO”.  “Paul Foster” was originally played by Michael Billington.

The film will be directed by Iron Man effects whiz Matthew Gratzner from a script by first time scribes Ryan Gaudet and Joseph Kanarek.

Jackson lacks Billington’s cool, but we can think of worse choices.

According to Variety, the eighties Joe Dante werewolf flick The Howling is the latest horror film to get the remake treatment.   The remake will be titled “The Howling: Reborn” and will produced by Joel Kastelberg and Etchie Stroh, and former New Line studio exec will Joe Nimziki will helm the project from his own script.  This will mark Nimziki’s debut as a director.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in February for a planned Halloween release.

This all sounds decidedly low rent.

As I said before, I have recently started a new job.  With that has come a new, but bland, office.  So, I got to work.  The first project I have completed is a table for the office.  I found this ugly guy with a paper top for a couple of dollars at the thrift store:

I started by sanding the wood legs and sides a bit and then painting them black.  I then used scrapbook paper on the top.  I taped the paper down, starting with a full sheet in the very middle of the table.  When the sheets were lined up nicely, I used ModPodge to cover the sheets, using a foam brush.  I did several coats of this, drying in between.

One thing I learned from using the ModPodge was that it makes the paper wet, so at first it will bubble up.  This smooths out as it dries.  But, I did make the mistake of lining the paper sheets up perfectly edge to edge.  Lining them up with a bit of overlap would have prevented the sheets from moving as they dried.  I do have a few tiny spots where there are gaps between the paper now.  I learned!

Making a succesful break from Dawnson’s Creek to the mysteries of Fringe it appears that Joshua Jackson is on the sci-fi trail as he joins the adaption of the classic Gerry Anderson 1970s show, UFO (read what Anderson has to say about the adaption – also check out the cool what if concept art)

Directed by visual effects wiz Matthew Gratzner, Variety are saying that Jackson will star as Paul Foster, a test pilot who joins S.H.A.D.O. (Supreme Headquarters Alien Defense Organization), a covert org built under a Hollywood studio that defends Earth against a race of aliens who have been abducting humans and using the body parts. The series was a cult hit in the ’70s.

This film version appears to be following Foster as opposed to the series that focused on the leader of SHADO, Ed Straker (played by Ed Bishop) who had the cover of a Hollywood studio mogul. Looks as if we will be learning about SHADO along with Foster. The question is who will they get to play Straker in the new film.

Graztner, the visual effects supervisor on films ranging from the Martin Scorsese-directed “Shutter Island” to “Iron Man,” was set last summer to make his feature directing debut on a film that its producers said is aiming for a spring start in the U.K.

“Character development is the most critical part of ‘UFO,’ and Joshua’s terrific talent and range is exactly what I need to convey the inner conflict of the character of Paul Foster,” Gratzner said.

How do you feel about Pacey fighting the aliens?

Luego de su primera temporada donde la serie 90210 vio pasar todos los problemas imaginables en torno a los adolescentes, más mucho dinero, la secuela de la popular serie de los años noventa creada por Aaron Spelling estrena su 2da temporada en la señal del cable  Sony en medio de controversias.

Cambia de horario, serán ahora los martes cuando los dramas en West Beverly Hills High School lleguen a la pantalla chica. Para los protagonistas de la serie: Annie, Naomi, Silver, Adriana, Ethan, Dixon y Navid las cosas no serán fáciles. A su regreso a clases después de un largo verano se verán sorprendidos por la llegada de nuevos compañeros.

Para tormento de los galanes de la escuela Teddy (Trevor Donovan) llegará a poner las hormonas de las chicas a tope. El nuevo jugador de tenis del colegio será el nuevo objetivo de algunas de las estudiantes, mientras que Gia, (Rumer Willis) una nueva estudiante de tendencia homosexual será una pieza clave en el periódico del colegio.

Hasta en las mejores familias
Resulta difícil pensar que son muchos los jóvenes que adquieren la independencia de los padres para vivir una vida sin reglas, 90210 va más allá de la premisa y se aleja, incluso de la historia que en los noventas también se convirtiera en escándalo. La segunda temporada de la nueva versión trajo a la pantalla chica la exposición de casos que podrían encontrarse en cualquier lugar: adicciones, madres adolescentes, libertinaje y abandono, pero la serie sabe llevarlo de la mano con mucho glamour, la máscara favorita de las chicas de Beverly Hills.

Pese a todo, esta nueva versión no ha contado con el éxito de la primera, en la que Kelly, Brenda, Brandon, Steve, Andrea, Donna y muchos más vieron correr su vida en la preparatoria e incluso dar el salto a la universidad, además de que permanecieron en el gusto del público durante una década.

Han sido dos años los que 90210 está por cumplir y, a pesar de la herencia de la producción anterior, sus protagonistas tienen mucho trabajo por delante para demostrar que su talento puede ir más allá de estos personajes e incluso brincar a la pantalla grande.

GQ – Disco Nights

En av mina trognaste bloggbesökare, Dick, kom med ett riktigt Scoop i kommentarerna till ett tidigare inlägg med TS Monk. Låten med GQ känner nog de flesta, som har lite koll på gammal disco, igen. Vad jag inte visste men som Dick upplyste mig om är att delar av GQ tidigare spelade under namnet Rhythm Makers och 1976, dvs två år innan GQ släppte Disco Nights, spelade de in följande spår.

Känns lite som man hört det förut, eller hur! Finns iofs fler liknande fall i musikhistorien men sällan något som är så extremt tydligt. Det närmaste jag kan komma på är när Fresh Band ohämmat lånade från Slaves Just A Touch Of Love till sin Come Back Lover. Fast då var det ju inte så att det var samma killar som gjorde en remake utan ett gäng som lånade ett tema från en uttans bra låt. Hade upp detta exempel i ett inlägg för nåt år sen som finns att läsa på bloggen för den som är intresserad.

Vill i alla fall tacka Dick för all input jag får genom hans kommentarer. Det sporrar en att få lite tips och inspiration, då lixom lyfter man sig ett snäpp och försöker skriva om sådant som är lite intressant och har en historia. Annars skulle det ju vara busenkelt att bara mata ut låtar på bloggen och visst finns det perioder när man inte är 100% på topp utan bara plockar låtar ur backloggen. Men för det mesta försöker jag få till något vettigt av klippen jag hittar så att det inte bara blir en räcka nostalgiska klipp på bloggen utan även lite att läsa oxå för den som är intresserad.

4h 50 minuter har jag jobbat i veckan, allt som allt nästan 80 timmar.

Det första jag sydde i veckan var en stor, fluffig underkjol till den här blommiga kjolen. Tyvärr ingen bild på endast underkjolen, men så här ser det i alla fall ut när man har de två kjolarna tillsammans. Underkjolen består av spetsgardiner och guldglittrig resår som kommer från ett bälte.

Sen så har jag även sytt denna. I grund och botten ett prickigt trikålinne med brottarrygg. Det jag gjort är ett sy en krage av en sjal. Ganska simpelt, ganska sött. Kragen är fastsydd bak, men fram fästs den med en brosch så att man lätt ska kunna få linnet över huvudet. Broschen har ett handmålat vintermotiv.

Får se hur mycket jobb det blir nästa vecka, för julklappspyssel ska även hinnas med.
