Along with pages upon pages of looks to try, read articles such as “Top Ten Must-Have Buys”, “Style Spy”,  “Accessory Addict”,and an exclusive interview with British singer/song writer Remi Nicole  ( and oh-so much more).

Heya everyone! Im back from my lonnngg hiatus! Sowwie bout that…I’ve been caught up in school & the upcoming birthday! Big 18th!! Yay!!

Anyways…as this fall season rolls on in, I’m sure everyone is enjoying to slight breeze & the leaves falling. I know I am for sure. I dont know if it’s because i was born in the fall…buhht its prolly my favorite time of the year…tied with Christmas!

I cant wait for the trees to be all nakie so I can stomp on the really crunchy leaves……(you know you wanna join me!).  I also love fall because you can layer up with various clothes & as the day goes on…you can peel those layers off.

Onto other subjects….Musica!!

My iPod has been on a constant repeat of a beautiful British songstress named Remi Nicole. Her debut sophomore album is called “Cupid Shoot Me” and it is  heartfelt and varied with 1950’s themed songs.

She is very good friends with Amy Winehouse & somewhat reminds me of her, without the drugs & booze.  On repeat is my favorite “Going It Alone“.  Remi Nicole has also said in an recent interview that this is also her favorite track off of the album! Awesome…aint it??? Overall, I love her voice….its magical and can pull you in. <3

Even more hugeness! They just keep on popping out from nowhere. This first one is only 128 kbps but its such a track! Literally raw power in a kind of  heavy electr0/trance no nonsense banger! Its coming out on their Urban Power EP on Jack Knife Records with remixes from Calvertron, The Bulgarian and Sawgood. Its gonna be big!

Hostage is a talented man. Last year he was producing drum n bass, then onto electro/fidget house and now he’s pumping out the tribal beats and dubstep. This a lovely dub track, he can do anything bloody well!

DIRTY BASEMENT FT. MC FREEFLOW – GET MESSY (HOSTAGE REMIX)

Now what will be Toxic Avengers first single from his full length LP. The single will feature remixes from Drop The Lime, Cyberpunkers, South Central and Franki Chan. Its a huge high tempo electro track with a really great feel to it due its quality production, catchy melody and great sounds.

Its actually quite funny how similar all of A1 Bassline’s remixes are sounding. Bit of the singing from the original, then a drop into the similar wobble rhythms and sounds. We love A1 Bassline, but I think the time as come to move on to a slightly different sound or style for his remixes. His new originals that we’ve heard on his mixes are a fucking superb, more of that please.

REMI NICOLE – STANDING TEARS APART (A1 BASSLINE JUMP UP SUMMER REMIX)

I’m not entirely sure how I missed Remi Nicole’s first album.  Probably because I don’t religiously keep myself up to date with pop and corporate indie (for want of a better expression).

The first time I saw her was on the telly a month or so back playing ‘Standing Tears Apart‘.  Just her and a semi-acoustic.  I really did think she was superb.  Sweet-as-a-nut voice, beautiful to look at, she played a really nice song with a bit of a Libertine’s vibe.  Maybe that last bit’s just me, but I stand by it.  The Libertine’s were a great band.  At her best Remi Nicole has something similar.  Clearly less laddish, less masculine, but a similar vibe nevertheless.

She is sweet whilst not being kookie.  Her lyrics are to the point, without being stupid.  I like artists who write simple songs that tell it like it is.  She might not be revealing universal truths that have previously evaded mankind, but then again how many musicians really do?  I’m a firm believer that most of us appreciate the established themes, and most of us can do with reminding ourselves that (for example the old song “Fed Up”) people generally don’t change and if they are idiots who take the piss then you should dump them.  There are plenty of people out there who fail to remember things like that when it comes to making their own life decisions.

In fact that is one of the most fantastic things about pop and rock now I come to think about it.  With writing there is nothing but the words.  Any subtlety, any mystery has to come through the words (not my style, sorry).  With Rock n Roll the je ne sais quoi can come from the music as a whole or any part of it.  Which leaves the writer able to cut to the chase and give it to you straight when it comes to the lyrics.  That doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate clever word play, or the odd lyric which confuses you.  But I want to hear a truth and think about it, I do not want to sit there thinking “what the fuck is this song about?”  Unless I am listening to the unbelievably good Future of the Left of course, but I’ll leave them for another day.

Anyway, I suspect her label still hope they have the next Lily Allen on their hands, though the relative lack of success for her last effort doesn’t bode well. She might yet become a damn fine pop artist like Allen has.  But at the moment I see someone who can write a song (the odd gem, a few pretty fine efforts – hopefully ‘Standing Tears Apart’ is a sign of her improving as a songwriter), possesses a very listenable voice, and has possibly the greatest gift in pop – an ability to get up on stage by herself, with an guitar and a mic, and play one of her own songs and sound fucking great.

I fear that in trying to fit a band around her, trying to produce her, the end result is a Lily-Lite, who is bound to fail to be as good at being Lily Allen as Lily Allen.  She is not new, she’s not fresh, she’ll not win over the indie crowd, but neither will she succeed like Lily as a pop artist.

Maybe the new album will be better.  If not then if she’s really lucky she’ll know that when she’s dropped it is an opportunity to go back to basics, with a percussionist and another guitarist at most, and make music for herself.  Raw and passionate.  And I hope she has some cash in the bank when it happens.  I really do ‘cos – and call me an old softy if you like, I don’t care – she does deserve it.

Some people think James Corden is the funniest out of the BBC’s Gavin and Stacey duo but I think Mat Horne is funnier – even when he doesn’t mean to be! (I can’t forget that story about how he tried to flog his dvd to a carriage of London Underground commuters).

Funny, no matter what

Last night, Mat was at the launch of  EA’s new Rock Band XBox360 game at Karaoke Box in Smithfield in a private room with lots of his mates. One of the parts of the night was getting out of the room and doing a song on the main stage against other ‘bands’. The best band would win an Xbox 360.

I laughed because Mat wasn’t that great (even though he thought he was) and because he called his band Black Pudding.

But the winners did have an advantage – Remi Nicole was in it and she is a professional singer and has sung with Amy Winehouse. FIX?

Eventful night last night. It started off at  the premiere of Sister Act. A really feel good and well put together musical, from someone that would normally avoid them I was impressed. Whoopi was in attendance with some strange footwear and came on at the end to do a little wave… and a little dance. How chilled out is that woman? Other people joining to see the first show included Brucy Bruce with a very young, very tanned lady on his arm (probably his wife for all I know I don’t really follow him as celebs go) and Cilla Black with legs to die for.

Onto venue two : Karaoke Boxs’ Rock Band competition put together by EA Games. We heard sets from a bunch of Hollyoaks people who brought down a load of friends including a girl that had had far too much to drink and Remi Nicole who won the competition. However I will say she was a bit off pitch, especially compared to Tom and my excellent vocals, still we’ll let her off on account of a few drinks.

Matt Horne was also there but decided to hide away in his private karaoke room all night with his group of friends who all wore matching deck shoes with rolled up trousers. All except Matt who had trainers on. I can imagine the conversation went something like this… ‘ Look guys I know you want to copy me and everything but I’m gunna be the only on wearing trainers tonight alright? You guys can still roll up your trousers like me thats fine but just make sure you have different shoes.’

Anyway – my point here is that I used to like Matt Horne but the three times I’ve seen him recently he’s been a moody, reclusive fucker so I’m swiftly changing my mind. I also wish he would change his hoody as it surely needs a wash by now.

We’ve just had some good news that both Jodie Harsh and Remi Nicole are after some customised Kings of Neon footwear of their very own.

Kings of Neon has been getting a lot of interest lately, and the more delightfully famous beings we can kit out in their own unique designs the better for us, for them, and for our clients.

Gossip Boy K has been trying to get one of his songs up here for weeks, and I finally found one that is suitable.  This is going to be a summer theme song on my iPod, for sure.  And that song is “Rock n’ Roll” by Remi Nicole.  (That rhymes.  Fun.)  Anyway, Remi is what Amy Winehouse would be if she had a little skin pigment and lack of crack.  Check it!

Last night she was back at her London clinic after a shambolic gig that included punching a fan in the face as she left the stage to sing.

She had begun confident but got forgetful, slurry and angry –

making me wonder if there was something in the drink she was sipping.

As she rambled between songs, spat and called KANYE WEST rude names, the crowd turned on her.

Last night festival boss MICHAEL EAVIS said of Amy’s punch:

“The man deserved it. He grabbed Amy’s breasts as she went past.”

And Amy’s spokesman said:

“One person misbehaving did nothing to spoil a great couple of days.”

But another fan, in the front row, said it was a GIRL who was hit, after trying to give the singer a high-five.

Avon and Somerset Police received no complaints and last night said there would be no investigation.

Meanwhile backstage, where Bizarre were the only journalists, WHITE STRIPES rocker JACK WHITE raved:

“Amy’s a treasure, the JANIS JOPLIN of our generation. The crowd don’t appreciate her.”

Also there were Amy’s pals REMI NICOLE and KELLY OSBOURNE.

But mates feared the stress of Glasto could get Amy back on drugs after two weeks of detox.

Judging from her antics, it seems their fears may be realised.

 After the weather we’ve been having recently, today was literally a breath of fresh air.
