Sono molti ormai i “giovani” sviluppatori che hanno un proprio repository PPA su Launchpad per dare voce ai loro progetti. Visto che rientro in questa categoria, è cosa buona e giusta che anche io ne abbia uno.

Ora sto cercando di capire come funziona tutto l’ambaradan, appena avrò caricato i miei progetti più rilevanti, creerò una pagina dedicata, poco ma sicuro!

Talking with a few translators, it became clear that many of them didn’t know that BuddyPress translations now have their own repository. For the moment, it’s a checkout-translate-commit process, as the rest of WordPress.org, but stay tuned for a GlotPress-based translation platform. Be sure to read this great post on everything i18n (and get on the mailing-list already…)

The Blueprints Database has a massive repository of blueprints of just about anything that gets blueprinted. While the coolest section is probably the science fiction one (check out the Rebel X-Wing from Star Wars above) they also have aircraft, tanks, phones, etc. They also have lots of ships. It’s a pretty frustrating find two days after I finished drafting a 1 900-component icebreaker for a university course. Wanna know what’s even more frustrating? The one on the site is better.

Hi guys, just a quick, but hopefully very useful message… I’ve found a repository which holds Bootsplash patches for every 2.6 kernel currently in existence! No longer will you have to trawl the Internet for hours trying to find a suitable patch!

Installing

If you prefer installing software from repository, Oracle 10g can be installed by adding the following line into /etc/apt/sources.list file:
deb http://oss.oracle.com/debian unstable main non-free
and adding the following GPG key

Then, install oracle-xe by typing

Debian adalah salah satu distro yang saya pakai walaupun tidak sehari-hari, namun cuma sebagai server saja. Kebetulan repository server Debian ini dulu mengacu pada http://debian.unnes.ac.id (saat ini down) sehingga saya harus memutarnya ke mirror lain. Dasar admin malas dan tak mau susah-susah ber-console ria mengedit /etc/apt/sources.list saya putuskan untuk menggunakan apt-spy

Tentang apt-spy
apt-spy sendiri adalah sebuah aplikasi 3rd party untuk apt-get yang bertujuan melakukan benchmark terhadap mirror-mirror repository Debian yang ada sesuai parameter yang diberikan, memilih yang paling cepat dan menuliskannya sebagai konfigurasi apt-get pada /etc/apt/sources.list.

Penggunaan apt-spy
1. Login sebagai root dan jalankan terminal, kemudian update koleksi mirror milik apt-spy terlebih dulu dengan perintah

apt-spy update

dengan perintah tersebut, apt-spy akan mengunduh berkas mirror Debian kemudian memilahnya.

2. menambahkan koleksi repo dari suatu area
untuk menambahkan repository tercepat dari suatu area, misalnya asia gunakan perintah

apt-spy -d stable -a asia

3. menambahkan koleksi repo dari suatu negara
untuk lebih spesifik, kita bisa mendapatkan repo tercepat dari suatu negara misalnya Indonesia dengan perintah

apt-spy -d stable -s id

dengan id adalah kode negara Indonesia.

Setelah menjalankan apt-spy silakan cek isi dari /etc/apt/sources.list anda, dengan vim /etc/apt/sources.list.

Hai linuxer, bagi anda yang pernah membaca artikel repository ubuntu 9.10 mirror lokal ke Kambing, maka ada sedikit kekurangannya, yaitu anda tidak bisa mendapatkan software update dan security update. OK, kali ini akan kita tambahkan bagian updatenya. Silakan anda ubah script repository anda (/etc/apt/sources.list) menggunakan Terminal menjadi seperti ini:

Ubah isinya menjadi seperti ini:

Simpan perubahan pada sources.list anda, kemudian tutup. Selanjutnya adalah mengupdate repository anda. Berikut perintahnya:

Tunggulah proses update sampai selesai.

2. Update Repository Via GUI (Graphical User Interface)

Ada satu cara lagi yang lebih mudah dibanding dengan cara 1 di atas, yaitu dengan tampilan muka grafik. Hmm, istilahnya lewat jendela dialog (biar sederhana). Ok, langsung saja yah. Pilih menu Sistem > Administrasi > Sumber Perangkat Lunak.

Pada jendela Sumber Perangkat Lunak, halaman Perangkat Lunak Ubuntu, klik dan pilih menu Lainnya pada pilihan Mengunduh dari. Lihat gambar ini:

Pilihlah mirror terdekat dengan anda, pada contoh kali ini silakan anda memilih mirror di Indonesia > kambing.ui.ac.id (ingat, anda bebas untuk memilih server mana yang akan anda tuju). Ada baiknya anda menekan tombol Pilih server terbaik untuk menemukan server tercepat bagi anda. Kemudian tekan tombol pilih server untuk menyimpan pilihan anda.

Jangan lupa untuk mencentang semua pilihan di halaman Perangkat Lunak Ubuntu untuk dapat di unduh dari internet dan Pemutakhiran untuk Ubuntu Pembaruan. Jika tidak maka anda tidak akan mendapatkan update-an terbaru. Dan klik tombol tutup, jika ada dialog untuk Muat Ulang, maka tinggal anda pilih Muat Ulang.

UPDATE SOFTWARE DAN SISTEM

Setelah selesai silakan anda memilih menu  Sistem > Administrasi > Manajer Pemutakhiran.

Setelah tampil jendela Manajer Pemutakhiran, silakan anda klik tombol Periksa. Masukkan password anda jika anda diminta otentikasi. Tunggulah sampai selesai update list repository, pilih update-an apa saja yang anda butuhkan (dianjurkan di cek semua), kemudian silakan anda klik tombol Install Update untuk memulai update software dan sistem di Ubuntu 9.10 anda. Jika diminta restart, silakan anda restart sistem anda.

OK. Selesai.

3G Unrestrictor è un’applicazione (che trovate crakkata nella nostra repo) che serve togliere le restrizioni su alcune applicazioni e permettere quindi di usare 3G, EDGE o GPRS al posto del Wi-Fi!

Attualmente nella nostra repository (steerepo.altervista.org) sono presenti 10 temi e 2 applicazioni.

One of the best ways to get updated software for Ubuntu Linux, as well as other Debian-based distros, is from GetDeb.net. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used their packages to get an update that isn’t available from official Ubuntu repositories or PPA’s.

They’ve recently launched an updated site for users of Ubuntu 9.04 and newer,  and one of the great new benefits is that they now have a repository you can add to your sources.list. You can either manually add their repo and key, or you can do it even more easily by downloading their getdeb package which will automatically add their repo and repo’s PGP signing key.

If you’re needing software for older versions of Ubuntu, or want to use the familiar website interface you already know and love, you can use their legacy website that remembers all of the users who signed up with them.

Unfortunately, if you have a free account with their old site you’ll need to create a new account to use their new site. I used their contact form to email the devs about not being able to log in, and Vadim Peretokin informed me that he doesn’t believe the user database was migrated to the new site. It may be a pain to have to create a new account, but it is free, and it only takes a few minutes to create the account and validate it from the email they’ll send you.

Either way, you’ll definitely want to check out the new GetDeb website and repository. It will make your life easier as you try to use newer versions of software than is in the official repositories and you won’t have to compile any code to use them, either.

Alhmdlillah…,setelah berhasil download ubuntu 9.10 karmic,langsung saya coba di laptop aspire 4530 saya. Tapi saya pake ubuntu 9.10 yang 64 bit dan Alhamdulillah sampe sekarang masih berjalan dengan lancar. Setelah berhasil saya instal saya langsung mau download2 paket2nya ubuntu 9.10 ini.

Langsung saya menuju ke terminal,lalu ketik :

1. sudo gedit /etc/apt/source.list

2. lalu yang di source.list saya ganti semua dengan : (oy hampir kelupaan, sebelum saya delete smua yg di source.list tulisan2nya saya copy paste dlu di gedit text editor dan saya save jadi saya punya backup nya)
