What does this have to do with Reagan? “President Ronald Reagan believed … that someone who agreed with him 8 out of 10 times was his friend, not his opponent,” the resolution states. With that in mind, if a candidate strayed from the list on three or more issues, the RNC resolution, if approved, would block him/her from receiving financial support and/or official endorsements.

Hokum Juice, Ticky-tacky, and Political Bunkum now run rapid throughout our political system. It’s a systemic hooey that is fast growing old among the voters, but as politician habits run these days, it just normal. The politicians do all the talking and do not want to listen to their constituencies. They barter their influence to the highest bidder.

We are talked down too, told we are gate crashers, instigators, evil town haller’s, told we do not understand the real problem, and informed that the politicians know better than we do in running our private lives. We are patronized and belittled to our faces from our own politicians. Far too many are generally scrutinized by our own Homeland Security Agency as possible terrorists.

There is a war on you know. When the head politician pays no heed to his own people, why should we be surprised when we hear he does not listen to our Generals in the field?

Our national economy is suffering so much and the harm to our middle class may be irreparable as there has not yet been any light at the end of a very dark and long tunnel of despair, yet this same middle class and its wonderful entrepreneurs are treated by the government as compost. Remedy is a waste of time for politicians who would rather tax and spend our future away. The one group of Americans that provide the most jobs in our nation are only so much baloney to be gobbled up by tax and penalty tax spending politicians who refuse to listen to the voters.

Like Roman Senators of old, they are corrupt —opting for power and prestige over taking care of the folks. Like old political whores, they vie for position and personal entitlement. They would sell their own honor if need be and many have. Ask Charlie Rangel, Collin Peterson, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Obama, Maxine Waters, Randy “Duke” Cunningham, Tom DeLay, and a whole host of others who have no sense of personal honor let alone public responsibility. Ask any of the new so called Czars that now work behind the scenes to corrupt your hard fought for freedoms and God given rights. Rangel can serve as a prime example of this deep corruption, swindling for himself millions while no one prosecutes him.

What are voters to think of all this?

Well, we voted these crooks into office and we can vote them out. However, the damage is done and more is coming down the pike. By the time elections are again the focus; the slick tongues will be licking their twaddle and driveling all over the place once again, spewing their vote enhancing claptrap. And there will be voters that will believe them and put them right back into office.

These politicians do not harbor a sense of accountability to the public trust. Power is the game and money drives the game. Never forget that.

It is so hard to find good decent people to run for office today, as the opposition spends more money digging into their past and trying to destroyed them publically, rather than argue over public issues and concerns. Often, these decent people want nothing to do with it and they don’t want to put their families through the public wringer.
Sara Palin is a prime example of this accusing public drumhead trial as opposition went right to her daughter’s jugular, not to hers. They still attack her family on a daily basis.

It is the world turned upside down. All of the decent values that started this country up and created its first government are all disparaged and demeaned in public with a drumming regularity that defies normal understanding. But, that is the real peril, isn’t it?

When the abnormal becomes normal, the trouble comes. When the deviant are hailed as decent, when the atypical is more popular than the typical, when the irregular is viewed as more acceptable in place of the regular, trouble comes in spades.

That is the Peril of America.

Former President Bill Clinton is heading to California to fully endorse San Francisco’s Mayor Gavin

Former President Bill Clinton is heading to California to fully endorse San Francisco’s Mayor Gavin Newsom for the Governorship of California. If you think Barack Obama is clueless on how to run a government, you better watch your peas and cues and point your radar screen to the meteoric rise of Gavin Newsom in Liberal Socialist circles.

Though his tenor as Mayor is stunted with unhappy Democrats who point to his ever self-aggrandizement as opposed to getting down to the business of running a city government, the man is going to make a bid to be California’s next head honcho. To top a short list of San Fransico’s main problems under Newsom, Homelessness remains a most serious issue; the city’s official tally shows that more than 6,500 people lack permanent shelter, a slight rise over the last four years. Portions of Market Street, the city’s grand boulevard, reek of urine and other such things. Muni, the city’s public transit system, is a constant source of complaint. At Bayview-Hunter’s Point, the historically poor, black neighborhood, appears as isolated and desperate as ever. Affordable housing is, for many in San Fransico, an oxymoron.

Yet, Mayor Gavin Newsom is the new white Obama, being groomed to replace current California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the next election. Then he may be spruced up for the future prime show, a run at the U.S. Presidency. And, according to Dan Schnur, director of USC’s Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics, the Clinton endorsement is a huge lift to Newsom’s ambitions, “Normally this is the type of endorsement you want to save closer to the primary, but Newsom has needed to do something dramatic to let people know he intends to seriously contest this nomination,” Schnur said. “There’s no better way to send that signal than this.”

Is he a way over the top Liberal Socialist, like President Obama? You can rest assured that he is even more over the top than most think or even know. This guy dreams socialism and government control of everything. After only 36 days as mayor, Newsom gained worldwide attention when he granted marriage licenses to same-sex couples. This bold move set the tone for Newsom’s first term. Under his energetic leadership, the economy did grow some and a few jobs were gained. But, he was far more interested in the city becoming a center for biotech and clean technology. He initiated a plan to bring universal health care to all of the city’s uninsured residents. And Newsom aggressively pursued local solutions to global climate change. It seems that Newsom is a big fan of Al Gore and Global Warming and Newsom sees the political leverage to be used and gained following this lead.

However, despite his big dreams, there is a sense that Newsom, while promoting exotic notions like Gay marriages, and harnessing wave power beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, he has neglected day-to-day management of the city: the sort of pothole-filling, street-sweeping duties that draw little publicity but are vital to a city’s smooth function and sustainability. It seems, like his hero, Obama, Newsom gets an idea, but he neglects the details that really need his attention. However, like some well known celebrities, Newsom over-stepped his bounds sexually, and in 2007 had to owned up to an affair with the wife of his reelection campaign chief; the woman was also working for Newsom at the time.

Newsom’s campaign manager vacated his position left with the knowledge that his wife had freely been acting the love toy for his boss, the Mayor of San Francisco. The cities first couple, the Newsom’s later divorced —still the Liberals Socialists quickly forgave him, just like they forgave ol Bill Clinton and his cigar antics. Together on the same stage, it will seem like old times for the likes of an impeached former head of state to give his political endorsement, despite the sexual betrayal. Can we just hear ol Bill up on stage, with his arm around Newsom, “We’re just two peas in a pod, you and me. Don’t you worry any, boy, we’ll get you elected.” Liberal Socialists just can’t understand the old ethical rule of business: “You don’t screw the help.”

Even though Bill Clinton is giving his political endorsement today, he is going to expect something in the future for it. Newsom is now in the tank for Obama, but rest assured ol Bill will want some Political cred coming Hillary’s way in the future. Clearly, Bill is hoping here to side swipe the Obama political machine down the road.

Never one to shy away from controversial policies, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom has announced he wants to fine the states grocery and convenience stores that sell sodas and other sugary drinks. Restaurants that sell such drinks would be exempt from the tax. How he plans to fine some and not others is beyond normal reason. I guess he must think restaurants serve up better sodas than the grocery and convenience stores. And Newsom is just bidding his time before he can go against the farm lobbies and their subsidies for sugar and corn. No soda for you! Just like the tobacco companies in the Nineties, the lawyers will be taking all things high corn fructose to court and Newsom will be laying big time fines to fill his government coffers to pay for his socialist schemes.

And schemes are just what they are. Nothing really planned out, just an agenda with no means behind it, other than a pretty face and a lot of ambition. If you love him in San Francisco, just wait until he comes to your neighborhood.

Remember the 1960’s, the decade of free love with juicy girls ready to wrap their arms around anyone

Remember the 1960’s, the decade of free love with juicy girls ready to wrap their arms around anyone? It came with a huge drawback though, a counter-culture that flipped the bird towards the old fuddy-duddy establishment. It did not matter is that old establishment stood on moral ground. Anyone not within the counter-culture was deemed ‘square’ or out of touch with what was ‘happin’in’. Many had been seduced away from their good principles to a new ‘common liberalism’ that cried out to us to save the whales, feed the hungry, house the poor, and protest against American Imperialism. We were told Johnson’s Great Society was going to take care of everyone. Much later, many realized they had been duped, lied too, ignored. Many realized that free love and peace to the world were just empty platitudes once you left college as they do the hiring and platitudes did not pay the bills or put food on the table. Like any generation the young folks got married and soon had kids to feed and a mortgage to pay.
Well, most of that counter-culture grew up, re-joining the modern establishment and capitalist society. Some joined to make money, others joined admitting the best way to change the establishment was to work on the inside, but they were soon themselves seduced by increasing employment options, modern technologies, and all those wonderful material things they went without during their college days, like PC’s, cell phones, iPods, Tahoes, and gorgeous pickups.
However, a few counter-culturists remained dedicated to undermining the normal social order. In the beginning, their numbers were so small they seemed inconsequential, now they permeate our universities as professors and our high schools as teachers to our children.

For the last 50 to 60 years, they have slowly crept into our American Educational System, and societal norm, quietly using all the wonderous tools provided by humble taxpayers for the teaching their children to advance their hideous agenda: Human Rights, Universalism, Cultural Relativism, Homosexuality, lesbianism, Atheism, Women’s Rights, Black Power, Global Warming, Anti-Americanism, Marxist Elitism and pure Socialism. They were rather an irate bunch, a tireless minority who constantly nitpicked and whined, keen on bushwhacking the idea of traditional principles in the minds of freedom loving Americans. Now, to their great joy, they are in Congress and control the White House. However, these NEA Teachers do not teach —they indoctrinate, they manipulate, and they object to anything approaching an opposing view. In addition, they are anti-American to the core.
America let its guard down. While the extreme left Democrats were able to take joy in the election of Jimmy Carter, the Democratic Party itself was not so pro-left. It still maintained a centrist core. But, that core was weakening under the Carter Administration. President Reagan worked hard against the Liberal Left, and he also warned us. But, Americans let their guard down again and elected the great Don Juan as President, The Democrat Centrist Champion, Bill Clinton. From that point, the counter-culture Liberal Universalists never looked back. Billy Beer was joked about from shore to shore under Carter, but no one was laughing when Clinton’s far left liberal Homosexual Policy for the Armed Forces took center stage. And Mrs. Clinton’s efforts at national Health Care fell on its far left Universalist face. With the Clinton’s, nothing was sacred, not even their marriage —life was just a big party and free for all and the Universalists howled with glee even with the slight loss of a few political points. Far Left Clinton had come close, dangerously close to succeeding. Despite the setback, the Universalist far left Liberals then got busy planning for day of their eventual takeover as they perceived it. They slowly began to work more deeply into the Democratic party, controlling many facets of its agencies. They started to return to their grassroots and enlisted the poor, the under-educated, and lower middle class to their cause. But, they really went after the main stream union organizations supporting the Democratic Party.
The Bush years were just a glitch to the extreme Liberal Universalists. Oh, they hated George Bush and they hated him even more for two terms as President, but ol’ George was soon spending money as fast as the printing press could hammer out the dollar bills. The money spigot was turned wide open, and he never really took a serious look at the economy until things started to go wrong. Like the Leninist Bolsheviks of the past waiting for the October revolution to end so they could come in the back door to firmly take power, the Far Left Liberal Universalists perked up and saw their opening during the last nine months of Bush’s Presidency. America was tired and angry, wondering what in the hell was happening…..
Once the economy went south and the Capitalists screamed bloody murder, begging for government help —the Liberal Universalists went into an overdrive orgasm. The economy had failed! Capitalism had failed! The big Banks had failed! GM had failed! Chrysler had failed! America had failed! With a Presidential Election around the corner, it was everything an extreme Liberal Universalist or Socialist could dream or hope for…..and it was in the wings ready to pounce onto the American political scene. So they got themselves a candidate and promised a better world for everyone!
That is, as long as you pay their tax increases and follow their Czars to nirvana.

To: President Obama and the Democratic National Committee:

Mr. President; Ladies and Gentlemen:

With regard to recent events both domestic and foreign, I must assure you in the strongest terms that you are unequivocally playing with danger. Since taking office, you have confused our allies, insulted our friends, bewildered the American public, ducked serious issues, and out-right lied to America on just about everything. Such insolence and posturing was your preferred determination, not mine and clearly not America’s. As a conservative, I had nothing to do with that and as a conservative, I will not play scapegoat to your impulsive resolve.

I cannot envision employment as a community organizer reveling so much epiphany and credentials for the office of President of the United States. Such acclaimed acumen or circumspection is curious, but uninspiring when not tempered by more knowledge and gainful wisdom. You have proved this so. Your eyes have always made known to you the landscape, however you choose not to understand or you choose to ignore, or you choose to deflect. How dare any of you expect any American to put up with your lack of judgment and your lack of interest?

Idealistic people like you, who have never really worked for a living, often feel entitled. You itch to save everything, not realizing that everything does not want saving. You itch to divvy up the rewards from someone else’s sweat, other than your own. You repudiate the old story of the Little Red Hen you learned as a child. Devoid of the wisdom that the world owes you nothing, promises you nothing, and will grant you nothing; you desire and strive for what you are not equipped and for what you do not deserve. Suffice to know the world works differently than you deem —or as some say: the more things change, the more they remain the same.

We all tread through our life discovering with stages, that time and space are never our friends. There is never sufficient time and never adequate space to see everything or do everything, or save everything from itself. Obviously, you have through your own experience not recognized that the world will continue much the same regardless of your ideology and tampering. The poor and hungry are sad to see, we feed who we can and we give shelter if possible, but they will always be with us. There will always be those who want and crave power over others, and lie or cheat or kill to gain that power.

Therefore, no —I am not inclined to play a role in the sick future as you trick yourself into believing. I do not and many other Americans like me, do not want to be saved from ourselves, by you. It would only be a complicated part-time ‘iffy’ experience serving no American well, and take far too much of America’s valuable time to correct. Your expectations and your arrangements are suspect, capricious, unreliable, and dangerous to our country’s future. Moreover, you shed allies like water off a duck’s back, and allow our enemies to gain advantage against us. I already possess my share of life’s complexities and I do not want to have to deal with your additional stupidities.

Accept the best advice I can impart to anyone: “There is no such thing as a free lunch.”
The Little Red Hen is right and you know she’s right.

Last week I wrote that S.C. Congressman Joe Wilson’s outburst during President Obama’s speech before a joint session of Congress was “unseemly.”

Rep. Wilson could have gotten his point across by waiting for the spin cameras and mics after the speech or, if he felt he had to say something during, just holler “No!”

I stll feel that way, but I’m really amused at what Democrats are now doing regarding Joe’s “indiscretion.” The Congressman apologized to the President who accepted. But Wilson’s Democrat colleagues in the House also want to sanction/admonish/reprimand or otherwise give him a symbolic noogie for his lack of decorum.

Its a combination of his management style mixed with his socialist dreams. Its a bad mixture within

Its a combination of his management style mixed with his socialist dreams. Its a bad mixture within a republic or democracy. President Obama does not want to know the details, he does not want to be bothered with the fine print. He has underlings to handle all of that for him. That is a real and present danger to all Americans of every stripe, color, creed, or opposite political affiliation.

President of a Republic, and this man just cannot appoint enough ‘Czars’ to satisfy his cravings for power.

That is the rub with his 1,000 page Cap and Trade Legislation and his now controversial over a 1,000 page health care reform bill. He speaks to Congress not once, but twice, demanding action, but once again, not familiar at all at what is really written within the bill. Its those controversial details Obama just cannot be bothered with. All he does is beg for the bill to be passed as if all those dangerous details will be dealt with at a more favorable time —or just magically disappear over time.

Anyone against him or speaking against his bill, is some out-of-the-closet ’special interest’ that was geared up by enemies who oppose his plans, out to destroy the credibility of his perceived greatness. As if he possessed anything close to it.

Yet, that is one huge problem we all face with this bogus pretender to the mantel of President of the United States. Obama really does believe in his own rectitude. He may be the elected President of the United States. But he is no President, not by a damn site. He believes so deeply in his own rectitude that he is unable to consider any compromise, any adaptation. His anal approach to compromise shows that he considers any and all Americans who appose or even question his policies as ‘paid off interests’.

There was another man who also firmly believed in his rectitude. His name was Adolf Hitler.

The President of the United States comes to Congress tonight to push his Health Care Reform Bill. In speaking to the AFL-CIO Union Picnic on Labor Day, Obama again referred to those ’special interests’ that keep blocking his efforts and campaign promises.

Union attendees lavishly cheered him like some rock star. Why shouldn’t they? Obama is the anointed one who has given them the keys to the Motor City and everything else they wanted. Obama has even named a new ‘Industrial Czar’ who is a past union organizer who owes the cost of his Harvard Education to the Teamster Unions.

But tonight, Obama has to please more than just some union lackeys and SEI lick spittle. He has to convince the American Public.

That is a tall order now, with many Americans speaking out defiantly against the Health Bill at numerous town hall meeting all over America during the last month.

Will he offer a new plan? Hardly so as he has been vacationing and traveling to meet with Union Officials and crowds. What makes anyone with a lick of sense think that this man has been sweating it out in the oval office writing a brand new health bill plan.

If anything new comes forward tonight, it will be from someone ‘unknown’ to the public. Just every other ‘Obama bill’ that has come down to the Congress, the author is ‘unknown’. Just like his personal records, ‘unknown’. Just like his vetting process for appointing his so called ‘Czars’, ‘unknown’.

Like I have said before, the substance and facts of his speech will tell the tale. Campaign platitudes mixed within fancy oratory will fall on empty ears. Blaming the ’special interests’ (outspoken American Citizens) will just make the public more concerned than ever and unleash even more anger toward this administration and its government.

The next few days up through the Presidents coming speech next Wednesday will explain much to the American People. Depending on who you are and what you expect from him, Obama’s silky platitudes will fall on many deaf ears. It seems as if Obama has utterly forgotten the famous phrase that his Illinois predecessor once said., “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.

Can he please those in the ranks of the Democratic Party, both the ‘Blue Dogs, Far Left, and the New Extremist Progressives’? Better yet, can he please the older Democrats who are deeply and increasing disturbed with whats happening inside Washington, and Obama’s White House?

Better yet, Obama’s speech and its aftermath will tell everyone in America who is the boss in Washington. Will the Democrats ram home the Health Reform Act for that good old Duke of Chappaquiddick, Ted Kennedy? Or will the Extreme Left-Wing Democrats be able to rally their minions for Obama’s cause? Or will the speech end up meaningless in the main, with Reid and Pelosi the main power brokers with Obama taking more vacation time.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have gunned the Health Care express forward with all speed, claiming they can indeed get the bill passed without any Republican support (damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!). Their calls for passage, to do it for Teddy, and the Public Option stays put, are ringing hollow on ears all across the land, unless you are a true progressive extremist, which is just one part of the Democratic Party.

What Obama’s speech will expose to Americans is just who is in control of the Democratic Party and who is really in control of the government. Is the coming speech-event a no-win situation for the President? It is beginning to look so. This is not a sitting President who is coming before Congress to outlay a new plan and vision. This is a President who is in serious damage-control, coming before Congress to beg.

The circumstances during the speech and after will prove whether this man will remain a full meaningful President, or just a lame duck Presidential figurehead for Harry Reid and Pelosi and the rest of the Progressive Extremist Democrats who cater to the extreme socialist left. As for the speech itself, form and style will not matter at all. Only the substance will be significant.

The average American Joe is no dummy. He knows when things are not working and in Washington today, things do not look bright at all. Obama can smile and point his finger all he wants. American is not in the buying mood. It’s time for the President to put up or shut up. Even then, that may not be enough to save his presidency and legacy.

Obama needs to learn that real life is so much more than expressing promises and hope. He continues to explain the decadent delight and pleasures of eating a Hot Fudge Ice Cream Sundae with whipped cream on top, to someone who has never seen or tasted ice cream.

Obama has failed to understand that substance is what really matters.

Why won’t these Extremist Progressive Democrats listen to their own constituency, their voters, thei

Why won’t these Extremist Progressive Democrats listen to their own constituency, their voters, their own good people? Why call or accuse folks who stand up to ask questions or present their views at town hall meetings as a hired mob, a disruptor, or worse yet, a storm trooper? What? A Nazi Storm Trooper?

Nonetheless, its all about them and what they want. Liberal Democrats are seriously ignoring all America and threatening to pass the Health Care Reform Bill, including its controversial Public Option. Senator Harry Reid-D, may implement a seldom used slick-willy parliamentary process called “reconciliation”—meaning that they don’t need a majority.
These Extremist Liberals are determined that their will, not yours be done.

Just like any high school drama queen, it’s all about them.

It really is, you know, all about them. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid long ago forgot about the real reason they were elected by the people. They are more into gaining power as a full time politician, rather than being what they were elected to be, a Representative and Senator of the people, by the people, for the people, so help you God!

Oh yes, there is that little ol’ God Card. If Obama pulls it out (which he did), it’s just fine and dandy with the Liberals. He can get a 100 ministers on the phone and declare that Jesus wants them to vote for this bill! Heaven help any Republicans who try that…..

And while the Liberal Extremists attack the Major Insurance Companies, vilifying and slandering them in front of the cameras, calling them villainous. Obama plays a game of dink and dunk with them in the White House. Outside the White House, Obama blames Insurance Companies. Inside, it’s a whole other story, eagerly agreeing to back room deals that mean only swindle, meant to fleece and dupe the American Public, all in the name of a health reform bill. But don’t worry, once it passes, the elderly will still be able to take aspirin. They may not get what they really need, but they will be able to get that!

It’s all about them, isn’t it? Obama ignores the general American public, just like he ignores the Marines who stand guard at the White House. No matter how many times he passes them, he never salutes back. Maybe it would be ok if those Marines were part of his own private community-makeover army. Maybe then, he could or would acknowledge their service to the country.

But no, it’s all about them. The extremist liberal leaders are now afraid of the general public, which is now obvious. Maybe a little fear in their gut will be good for them. Still they are determined that it’s going be their way no matter what, even if they shove the plan down our throats. Those town hall folks be damned! Those Republicans be damned! Those Libertarians be damned! Those Independents be damned! Anyone not with us, be damned!

Unfortunately, the Liberal argument of constantly blaming the Republicans for all their woes is fast growing very dry and awfully crusty, as the American general public is not buying it this time.

The general American public is not in the market to have anything shoved down its throat right now. And that feeling may remain in place for some time. The economy is just too weak and to many Americans are concerned about the future. America is taking stock of itself and the Liberal extremists are in big danger of being left out of any future political formula.

It is not about you, its about us and you best understand that!

Let’s hope so and pray hard, real hard.

Stand up for your rights, Citizen!
Stand proudly, and refuse to be shouted down!
Americans should be heard!
America will be heard!

“Will the real President Obama come on down!”

Remember that famous game show line? Well, anyone with a real lick of sense can holler this line at the present President of the United States with deep concern and bewilderment. For the game show, it was fun. In today’s political reality, it is a serious clarion call.

Is this guy for real, or is he something else? The honeymoon is definitely over, the election a past event. Yet, strange things, shadowy things are happening within the bowels of this government that are creepy and abnormal to the general thinking of the American Public. Are we faced with a cool calculating and conniving individual? Would he really use underhanded and devious methods to get what he wants, regardless of the Constitution? Or are we just beginning to understand that this man just loves BEING President, but does not know HOW to be a President?

When things go right, he acts smugly, and surrounds himself with a politically controlled environment. However, when things do not go his way or the Democrats need his support, it always the ‘special interests’ that are the problem. The special interests become the fly in his soup, the source for all things that vex his efforts for national makeover (cultural makeover?). It is those darnable irritating ‘special interests’ that are the bane of all his efforts.

That is why many Americans of all color and stripe, are seriously beginning to wonder WHO is really in control here. Obama refuses to understand that the everyday American Joe is being labeled the ‘special interest’ that foils everything.

Which is it? Is Obama clueless, or is it him that is doing the labeling here?

1. First off the country watched as the President, all in the name of ‘Stimulus’, took over the Banking Industry. Well, we all knew it was in deep trouble within its ranks due to over spending, graft and corruption, and we learned that the corruption was wide spread. Something needed to happen and the American Public was content to just observe the proceedings under the sharp eye of the reporting press. What we did not expect or understand was the President’s raising the national debt level to such heights. Billions replaced Millions and soon TRILLIONS became recognized and anesthetized terminology.

2. Then our eye brows went up as the President moved to take over General Motors and Chrysler, two long standing American Auto Makers, nationalizing their ownership with the U.S. Government as the major stock holder. What surprised everyone was how friendly President Obama and his administration was to the Unions during this process. The Unions suddenly found themselves a new, but an arrogant major player within the Auto Industry, ‘being handed almost controlling interest’ in the companies in question. Concern was expressed by many within their own households. Everyone understood that government really does not have any place owning private business.

3. Again, we watched and quietly observed the President’s “chosen Men” as they were confirmed with little challenge from our elected officials, only to find out many were behind in paying their Federal Income taxes. Then the American Public learned that some of these men were to be called, “Czars”, and that many had some serious skeletons in their closet, like public arrests for subversive activities. And the Presidents strange appointments just keep coming. America now has more Czars than the Russians ever did. But here again, the arrogance of the White House started to backfire. Americans don’t like the word, Czar, as a label for their public or governmental appointees.

4. Then came the Cap & Trade Bill, a huge multi-page document (over a 1,000 pages) conveyed to the House Floor and voted on with hardly anyone having the time to read the over 1,000 page bill. If that was not enough, Henry Waxman-D, attached a surprise amendment to the bill at 3:00 in the early morning hour’s just hours before a floor vote. Needless to say, the nation watched and listened with the Representatives argued all day long, but finally acceded to the President and passed the bill. Public organized ‘Tax Tea Parties’ now sprang up within the general population, became an everyday word with many Americans who now saw the emergence of a new elected political party that was intent on raising their taxes in a wide variety of venues. This failure to read the bill, and the very arrogance of the Democrats to ram home this bill, woke up the American Public and drew its angst. But wait, more was coming down the Congressional pipe.

5. The Health Care Reform Bill surfaced and almost immediately, the American Public was now stirred to action. What was actually within this Legislation was largely unknown at first (with parts still unknown) but many disturbing facts soon surfaced that aroused deep anger and frustration in many voters. Where politics usually ran along defined party lines, the frustration and aggravation soon crossed all political borders, with Independents and Libertarians rushing forward to stand next to those who called themselves Republican or Democrat. At August Public town hall meetings with their elected representatives, the Americans were stunned over being ignored and having their concerns belittled. Normal folks were seen by their elected officials as overly boisterous, mob-like, and accused over and over again as being part of some kind of ‘special interest’ group that aimed at disrupting the meetings. More anger set in. More distrust of government set in. More open disgust with elected officials set in. As one fellow at a town hall meeting exclaimed in front of the cameras while pointing his finger at his Representative, “Do you work for us, or do we work for you?” Hearing these comments, the President has labeled the American Public that speaks out as “the special interest group” that opposes him the most.

6. If the Health Care Reform Bill is not divisive enough for everyone, now there is a more disturbing Senate Bill coming down the Congressional path. The Cybersecurity Act of 2009 emerged late Thursday, August 27th, 2009, authored by Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.V., who introduced the bill. This is just another ‘Ram it Home Bill’ for the Elitist Progressives. Mr. Rockefeller said the legislation was critical to protecting everything from water and electricity to banking, traffic lights, and electronic health records. Passing this Cybersecurity Act would allow President Obama emergency control of the Internet and may give him a “kill switch” to shut down online traffic by seizing private online networks. Not government networks, but the private internet sector. Google, Yahoo, and all other search engines would disappear in a wink of an eye, along with all other private internet hosting companies, all business websites, and your personal website. Obama or any following President could utilize the’ legal authority’ to match such power with the Clinton Administration’s Bill that was passed in the 1990’s to allow any President to declare National Martial Law. And the two authorities could be used in conjunction with the Articles of Government Regulation the FCC’s new Czar of Diversity has promised to use too shut down all Radio Stations that do not adhere to his ideology for proper radio programming.
What was that again? “Critical to protecting everything from water and electricity to banking, traffic lights and electronic health records”.

Shadow? Shadow? Anyone seen Obama’s scheming shadow? The U.S. Government needs to control the Traffic Lights too? Then enters that famous expression again, ‘electronic health records’. Are you understanding this as I am? We shut all private internet down, just to protect the electronic health records, which should not be electronic anyway. Who is he kidding here? Are you amused yet?

You can now put that in your pipe and smoke it.

The arrogance and shadowy nature of this standing President is repelling and appalling all at the same time. This President is not listening and does not want to listen. Notice that the man never speaks of or about the Constitution. However, if you speak out or speak up at any town hall meeting or attend a Tax Tea Party, you are a dreaded “special interest”, plaguing the President and his national community makeover.

Isn’t it just a little more than strange that most of us have never met a underground revolutionary anarchist or communist? Yet, this President has met and worked with two such individuals and appointed such avowed people into high public office. Now we can seriously wonder who will be his next appointment?

Is the American Public a special interest? I say this Obama: “You’re Damn Right, Mr. President, and it’s the most important ‘Special Interest’ you’ll ever have. Best start paying attention to it.”

Who have we elected? Who is in charge here? A man who wants ultimate power, a closet despot, a egotistical haughty Tyrannis Rex in waiting? Or have we elected a clueless individual who apparently loves the camera and public perks that go along with being the President, but who really does not understand HOW to be a President?

With President Obama calmly taking vacation and not bothering to address any of the questions many b

With President Obama calmly taking vacation and not bothering to address any of the questions many brave non-drinking Kool-Aid Broadcasters and Reporters are begging him to answer, what is a concerned American to do? And how is a concerned American to take all of this non- response from his President?

With individuals of dubious background being acclaimed as competent and qualified for appointment as agency secretaries and advisers (both now called Czars) the President has remained just a little more than quiet. How is an American to take this? This is not a Democrat or Republican question, though these doubtful characters have been rushed through the confirmation stages with lightening speed with vetting committees granting their approving mark with little or no knowledge of their shady backgrounds.

Men and women who have been and have proudly called themselves communists, revolutionaries, and anarchists. Men and women with documented criminal backgrounds of flight and arrest. Why appoint these ambiguous persons who have used their skills to create anti-American cadres in many forms. All plotting against America and subscribing to the teachings of Lenin, Marx, and Mao.

These agency heads or ‘Czars’ as Obama calls them are clearly extreme fringe elitists and each has a personal agenda other than the protection of the American Constitution or the continued welfare of the American way of life. Most of these new Obama appointed Czars have openly hearkened for a one world government, a one world monetary system, a one world police enforcement to force governments and their nations to abide their view of future Global Warming Legislation of the United Nations. Some of them advocate the use of chemicals in our water supply, to sterilize the population to keep its numbers ‘manageable’. And others want all future married couples limited to only two offspring and then undergo ‘mandatory sterilization’. All health care will be provided and ‘managed’ by the government and all wealth re-distributed (exactly to whom they won’t say). Who is this Green Jobs ‘Czar’ who cried for Blacks to rise in Revolution against his country, and who also admires the Black Panthers? Why would a Liberal U.S. Representative openly advocate that her one goal is to take over and place the government over all commerce and run or operate all business?

Why do Obama’s appointees all have this background? And, why can they not pay their federal Income Taxes on time like everyone else?

Why are average and concerned Americans, who are deeply concerned about the direction their present government is pushing them towards, vilified in most of the press as mobs, un-American, Nazis, storm-troopers, disruptors, and idiots.

Does the President of the United States really believe that a soccer-mom who stands up before the microphone with tears in her eyes, just asking for her country to come back is some sort of paid Nazi disruptor? Are all of the little old Grandmas and grandpas who show up angry and scared over the actions of Congress, secretly paid rabble rousers? Regrettably, many Liberal (Progressive) Democrats think so. At least that is what they say in front of the cameras.

The worst problem is the one that is growing faster than we all think. It is the general anger and resentment towards government now seething under the surface within the American Public. It is not Republican in nature or Libertarian either. It’s just plain anger at the grass roots of American society. The water is getting hot and it could come to boil. The resentment is there. The anger is there. Folks don’t know what to think or what to do about it all, yet. If it should get a direction, look out.

What’s an American to think of all this? This clearly sounds like some far off ludicrous stuff one would expect from some tobacco chewing fringe loon hiding in the deep backwoods of Michigan preaching some far fetched ideological supremacist doctrine. But it is not.

It is unfortunately very real, with documentation, and more is being learned every day. Worse, the President remains aloof from the American people and allows this horrible uncertain jumble to deepen and escalate. But, would an explanation from him change anything, now? The trust from his smiling face is already gone.

Escalate, you ask? Escalate into what?

That is the question.

Until that question is answered, speak up and speak out. Do not let anyone shut you up or shout you down. Stand for your rights and stand for America’s future. Do not let anyone push you out of a public town hall meeting and demand to be heard!

All have the right to speak and be heard. As Winston Churchill once said: “Keep buggering on!”

It is now clear to many Republicans, Independents, and some Democrats, that Obama’s Liberal Theory D

It is now clear to many Republicans, Independents, and some Democrats, that Obama’s Liberal Theory Doctrine deems Big Government is much better equipped to make important personal choices for our country’s citizens. Obama and his triumvirate clan of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), and Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), believe they (the government) are entitled to our earnings, and what might be returned to us will be packaged as a special government entitlement giveaway. Within this Liberal Theory Doctrine, These so called ‘Progressive Democrats’ feel the government knows best how to spend your money, not you, and simply don’t trust you to your own devices. It’s the Animal Farm as written by George Orwell in 1945 and studied by American High School Students since the 1960’s.
One group wants control and thinks it deserves it better than the individual. This group really does believe that it can decide the important issues facing an individual better than the individual. Big Brother Government to the rescue, they will cure all your troubles and woes.
Well, it’s just a story, right? Wrong. It can happen and President Obama and his ilk are preparing to do just that, take away all your troubles and woes by taxing everyone (don’t worry about the claims on taxing just the rich, everyone will be taxed in some way) and placing more taxes on individual product items that you already pay a state sales tax on. Remember, the government under Obama has already taken over the banking system and the auto industry, giving the unions control over most of the companies. Now, their eager hungry eyes on on the sugar industry, and the Democrats are working to tax soda-pop and all other products that contain sugar. Just like alcohol and tobacco products, you may have to pay extra Federal taxes on lots of products. No more cookies for you!
Despite the raging arguments over Taxes, the Deficit, Health Care Reform, Cap and Trade, that little ol’ Union Card signing Bill, Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-Nev.) of the House Ways and Means Committee is already planning an additional surtax that would apply to all individuals with adjusted gross income of more than $200,000 and couples over $250,000! This is in addition to taxing the rich or all income over $250,000. You all saw this coming, didn’t you?
Obama, the Harvard graduate, the ‘theorist President’, the Chicago Community Organizer, allows his appointed agency chiefs, interestingly introduced to the American citizens as ‘Czars’, almost unlimited control over government guidelines with little or no regard of the nation’s constitution.
But let’s get back to that little ol’ book, the Animal Farm, by George Orwell. Obama, like any good tyrant, is not really interested in listening to the people. He rules supremely from on high, allowing his appointed captains full control over the populace handed over to them. And, not one of them is listening to the American Public. Not Obama, not his so-called ‘Czars’, and certainly no one from his political party wants to listen either. That has become so evident over the last year. And like in the story Animal Farm, the Pigs did not listen to the other animals either. They just established the laws and all the other animals were expected to accept them without argument. Well, the Democrats and Obama first ignored the Tea Parties that were sprouting up all over the nation. Then they covered their ears and refused to listen to the American Public during the Cap and Trade Bill, Ramming the bill home, demanding a vote before anyone could read it. This year’s August Recess Town Hall meetings have scared them out of their wits, as they are now left calling those most concerned citizens a wide host of derogatory names to explain their failings. Again, they do not listen, they just call who ever questions their actions, derogatory names. Do Nazis, hired mercenaries, 911 conspiracy believers, Neanderthals, anarchists, and stupid idiots just to name a select few, ring a bell? And it’s not over folks; you can easily bet there is lots more coming around the corner.
Higher taxes, just enough to cripple your earnings. Government run Health Care so Obama can save you money. Cap and Trade, crippling what industry we have left. The Union Card, turning all the mom and pop grocery stores into union shops (its ok, Wal-Mart will sell to us all the food China can supply, and with a huge smile. They already sell us Chinese clothes and they can afford to pay a union). And a government run health option that will allow the government to enter your personal banking accounts to pay for your health care insurance. (just a little ol’ penalty tax is all)
National Community Organizations will be able to hire hundreds of people into new jobs after receiving their Health Care Grants allowed by the proposed Health Care Bill. Workers will flow through our neighborhoods, measuring everyone for height, weight and vices that effect your lifestyle and general health. It is they who will guide us all into a ‘community makeover’ as set forth by the new Health and Human Services Czar. As if you did not know, ‘community makeover’ indeed is mandated in subsections of the proposed Health Care Reform Act. And what will these National Community Organizations look like? Does Acorn or SEIU qualify? As of now, yes and that should make you shudder. Still, Obama will claim he helped to create more jobs!
The man wants it all, and he is determined to get everything you earn and more. Then he will create government jobs in place of lost industries, claiming he saved the nation from its economic troubles, and hand you a culture where you do not have to worry about health care, car emissions, Global warming, or even money. Obama will just have Bernanke print up more dollar bills and tax you up. Obama will watch over you, as he has already asked certain Americans to report and tattle on other Americans to the government. As in the book, Animal Farm, the pigs will be in control again and the Pigs will have their ‘community makeover’ spies watching over you.
If that is not Animal Farm coming to reality, I misread the book.

Liberal Democrats are now posing themselves as ‘Progressives’, rather than Liberal, or Leftist, or Left Wing. ‘Progressive Democrat’ is now the new watch word for the mainstream media. Even Fox News has no problems introducing the old fashion ‘Liberal’ as a ‘Progressive’ now days. Must be something in the water or the Liberal Democrats are insisting on being introduced as ‘Progressive’ if you want an interview with them. It does make one wonder.
Pennsylvania Democrat Chaka Faittah is now the Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. There used to be a ‘Black Caucus’, now we have an additional ‘Progressive Caucus’. Make no mistake; this ex-Liberal convention is just that, very much liberal in its entire scope, devoted to a socialistic agenda. They just want to dump the old expression or descriptive label of ‘Liberal’ because it is under harsh scrutiny now days from a wide variety of concerned Americans. Liberal is looking more and more ‘Socialist’, and Democrats want to misdirect and hide under the new “Progressive Democrat’ idiom. Socialist is a haunting name and at the August-break town hall meetings, many Americans from all backgrounds and political affiliations have stood up in front of the cameras, their Congressmen, their Senators, and the entire world exclaiming: “We don’t want a socialist country!”
Clearly, words Liberal Democrats don’t want to hear, because Liberals do want a socialist country that controls, cajoles, mandates, and guides your American way of life. Every day, powerful Liberals from California and New England are manipulating the mainstream media, subverting the institutions of our country, and tactically usurping our long standing principles and laws to work against our chosen and fought for freedoms.
Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Henry Waxman, Barbara Boxer, or even Chris Dodd, are not and never have been interested in the ‘Spirit of the Law’. It is well documented the money Barney Frank has floated to his banking friends through the friendly offices of Fanny Mae. Remember, it was Mr. Barney’s smiling face on TV saying Fanny Mea was in good shape just before it crashed to earth in a economic reality check. It is documented that Chris Dodd received monetary loan favors from Freddie Mac. They love being in power and using power for their own personal gain. Nancy Pelosi loves the Air Forces’ Leerjets and she uses them as often as she can, while she eats crab cakes and Wine on the flight. After spending millions and trillions, President Obama ordered 4 new Leerjets for government use and Nancy Pelosi upped that order to 8 new jets. Is that progressive to you? Perhaps Pelosi needs those new government Leerjets for a free flight home to take care of that 20 million dollar Grape Farm she owns in the Napa Valley. Pelosi and her cohorts enjoy and seek out the power to manipulate and destroy the ‘Spirit of the Law’ set forth by our founding fathers who risked their livelihoods and their lives to give to all Americans. Does anyone really think any of these liberal office holders would risk their millions against freedom if it truly put them in harm’s way.
Sometimes people just do not understand that you cannot throw out the baby with the bath water. Often, Liberals are people trying to save the world and not understanding that the world does not want saving —from them.
But Liberals should not be allowed to change their stripes with a new upgraded profile ‘they deam’ progressive.
A Liberal is a Liberal and the stripes are always the same. Don’t be fooled by this new ‘Progressive Democrat’ introduction. In fact, do not be swayed with the use of Blue Dog Democrat either. The only difference between a Liberal Democrat and Blue Dog Democrat is that one barks too loud and at everything, while the other whines until given a bone to sooth their feelings.
Progressive has nothing to do with being Liberal.

Americans are still being asked to report on other Americans if they think something is fishy or if

Americans are still being asked to report on other Americans if they think something is fishy or if their actions are fishy. And it’s President Obama that is asking Americans to tattle tale on their neighbors, creating and enlarging a White House Domestic Enemies List. You can use the telephone, or you can go to a certain website and in one easy click — just turn them in. But remember, they have to be engaged in fishy activity first or at least look fishy to you.
They want to know if you are a fishy person or engaged in fishy activities. It appears the White House under President Obama is listing everyone who speaks up at Town Hall meetings and presses Democrats about the Health Care Reform Bill or the Cap and Trade Bill as being fishy —a possible Domestic Enemy. Obama and his liberal left wing Congressional Democrats are openly asking Americans to inform on other Americans —to spy on their fishy neighbors. ( since this article was originally written, the White House has done away with that particular link, but you can still turn others in)
If you speak out at a Town Hall Meeting or write a letter to an Editor against Health Care Reform, will someone turn you in as a fishy person of interest? Will your name be on that list? Will the White House List of possible fishy people be forwarded to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano as a possible Domestic Enemy? If you speak out at a town hall meeting against this administration, will Janet Napolitano be sending your name to your local police department, tabbing you as a possible enemy and potential danger? Are opinion letters to some Editor now labeled as possible subversive literature from a fishy person of interest?
Unfortunately, according to this standing President and his White House Administration —including the Congressional Democrats, any American who wants to espouse a different political view or opinion is now deemed Fishy and they are asking Americans to expose them, tattle-tale on them, to place them on the National List of Fishy Persons.
Locally, we already know what Representative Collin Peterson thinks of us. Out of his own mouth he has accused 25% of his own people of being zany cuckoos —believing in some 911 government conspiracy. According to Peterson’s left wing friends, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former Vice President Al Gore, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and let’s not leave out the ever present Barney Franks, folks who speak out against legislation at town hall meetings are evil and extreme fanatics or worse yet —fishy people. All have said so on national television a number of times.
Well, I suppose some of us could be labeled fishy and there might be others who could become fishy at any unknown moment. Still where do these Fishy People come from? Do you buy seeds and plant them? Maybe you take to the lake with some special bait —catch them for later release at a town hall meeting?
Where ever they come from, I don’t mind these fishy people. I will proudly stand with them, in defense of our glorious Constitution and the rights it guarantees for all Americans. If that makes me a fishy person of interest to be turned into the Obama Administration as a possible Fishy Person, listed on the new White House Domestic Enemies List —so be it…

Everywhere conservatives are screaming-they are now labeled “right-wing extremists” by J

Everywhere conservatives are screaming-they are now labeled “right-wing extremists” by Janet Napolitano and the Department of Homeland Security. They are proud of the label since they are opposed to the entire Obama administration, but they are scared at the same time-the “right wing extremist” document(s) probably prompted a large portion of the conservative base to attend the recent Tea Parties. Homeland Security is now an evil beast to be opposed-but there is hypocrisy here. Republicans supported the gigantic department from 2001 to early 2009 with complete dedication.

Enter the title of this article: “What Conservatives Hath Wrought”. For years after September 11 several Republicans, most notably Congressman Ron Paul of Texas, have consistently opposed the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and they have called for it to be done away with. There were several arguments they made, but Rep. Paul has often been the lone voice in the House of Representatives standing against this behemoth:

“The last time Congress attempted a similarly ambitious reorganization of the government was with the creation of the Department of Defense in 1947. Back then, congressional hearings on the matter lasted two years before President Truman finally signed legislation. Even after this lengthy deliberation, however, organizational problems with the new department lasted more than 40 years! What do we expect from a huge bureaucracy conceived virtually overnight, by a Congress that didn’t even read the bill that creates it? Surely more deliberation was appropriate before establishing a giant new federal agency with 170,000 employees!”

The article goes on to state some more great dangers about the Department of Homeland Security:

“Warrantless searches, forced vaccinations of whole communities, federal neighborhood snitch programs, federal information databases, and a sinister new “Information Awareness Office” at the Pentagon that uses military intelligence to spy on domestic citizens are just a few of the troubling aspects of the new legislation.”

Now we see the real problem. Big government was created by conservatives to “fight terrorists”, to “end terrorism”, to “secure our borders”, etc., etc.. There is a huge problem. Who controls the great big power we have created? Ignore the other arguments against it-the organization is too large, too bureaucratic, too wasteful-look at the monstrosity and what it is capable of as a tool of tyranny. Creating Homeland Security is similar to creating a “Ring of Power” from Lord of the Rings-perhaps it is not absolute power over everything, but it is a monstrosity that brings with it a temptation to use it. Democrats, libertarians, and freedom-loving Republicans opposed Bush’s creation and use of this enormous department because it would only lead to evil. Democrats cried that they would be politically targeted, and in some respects, they were.

But then the change of power came. Obama and the Democrats now control “The Beast” and they are using extent of its power to politically target Republicans and, of course, libertarians. Republicans cry that Napolitano is evil and wrong, that she should reverse the report and issue apologies to a large percentage of the country. But where were the Republicans crying when it was not them, but Democrats who were targeted? Where are the Democrats now that their own people are targeting the “right wing extremists?” This is further proof that neither side is principled and that both falter when power is thrown at them. As long as “their side” is in control, they feel safe, secure, and are quick to criticize the opposition by saying it is wrong to be against the government. I never expected the Democrats to switch their opinion on issues so fast once Obama was inaugurated as President of the United States. But they did. They are no better than the Republicans that they criticized for eight years.

Power and money are the two most corrupting forces in all of history. Republicans and Democrats cannot be trusted with it. The only way to be sure that no one is targeted as a “right wing extremist” is to eliminate the department of government that has targeted both sides at some point. Destroy the Department of Homeland Security and we will all be a little better off.

Oh what conservatives hath wrought.

The very essence of modern conservatism is a losing spirit. By definition, a conservative is someone

The very essence of modern conservatism is a losing spirit. By definition, a conservative is someone who wants to “preserve” something. If you are a conservative, you are part of a group of people that could be viewed as some kind of historian fan club, reminisicing about the good old days. Socially and culturally I consider myself one of those people–I am a traditional “conservative”. But what we have today in America is a political faction that is set up for major losses in the future and will continue to lose until they have disappeared and all the individuals have adapted new political philosophies.

Conservatism’s problems stem from several things. The first is probably the most obvious–there is no actual definition of what the political philosophy of a conservative is. Sure, everyone has their own idea of what a conservative is, from the “Religious Right” to “fat cat robber barons”. There isn’t a clear cut definition in the population and neither is there one in the world of political thought. People like David Frum and Bill Kristol advocate some sort of neoconservative dreamworld where Obama’s economic policies are coupled with Bush’s foreign policy (I must interject here–it’s probably legitimate to say that Obama is copying Bush’s economic policies), while Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, and Bobby Jindal represent a branch of conservatism that is popular and talks a good talk–but it is philosophically empty and very hypocritical.

The only branch of conservatism that is truly and ideologically “conservative” is somewhere in the world of Mark Sanford, Pat Buchanan, and Ron Paul. I know it might sound as though I am forcing the political ideologies of these three men onto conservatives (and it might sound like I have a fascination with them or their beliefs) but in all honesty it was my searching for what a “conservative” really is that led me to the very libertarian side of conservatism.

After the Bush administration showed time and time again that it was totally inept when it came to domestic affairs, I began to question its ability to properly execute foreign affairs as well. Why should such an inept group of people, bent on implementing socialism and government growth domestically, have any clue about how to go to Iraq, destroy their government, set up a new one (including utilities and sewers, etc.), and bring “freedom” and “capitalism” to a formerly oppressed nation?

It didn’t make much sense, but I towed the party line until 2006 when I began to hear the words of Ron Paul, who actually criticized American foreign policy–but he was a Republican that I agreed with on every other issue! Perhaps he was correct. Throughout 2007 and 2008 I a lot from the Founding Fathers and many early Americans and I discovered, almost always consistently, that the ones who America owes its “small government” ideals to were always against foreign intervention in other countries.

This leads me back to what a conservative really is. It is someone who not only talks the talk of a small government, but believes in every aspect of the government being small. I draw the line at calling anyone a conservative who says we do not need to raise taxes or expand medical benefits but at the same time will give the government a blank check to go to war around the world and drive our nation deeper into debt. Wars must be legitimate and they must be funded with extra tax money. The conservative foreign policy is position is following the liberal-socialist position of Democrats like Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Harry Truman, JFK and Lyndon Johnson. The only difference is that since they are ideologically opposed to taxes, they simply ignore the “paying for it” part and say that, to quote Dick Cheney, “deficits don’t matter”.

There are a lot of inconsistencies besides the foreign policy one. Most conservatives will always falter and allow giant corporate bailouts, semi-socialized medicine, and many other massive government programs as long as “they don’t go too far”. Note that this is only when the opposition (those “evil liberal Democrats”) are in control. When Republicans rule the roost, there is no opposition to the largest expansion of the government since FDR’s New Deal and LBJ’s Great Society (Thanks George W. Bush for being so “compassionate” in your conservatism). I could go on and on about this, but I think most readers will quickly get the point.

We return to Mark Sanford, Ron Paul, and Pat Buchanan. They have their disagreements (not that we see them arguing often, but on a point-by-point basis), but these three generally have developed “conservative” viewpoints that are radically opposed to the Bolshevism of the Left and the Trotskyite-Straussian version of Communism that is so prevalent on the Right. To be a conservative in the political sense means to oppose government at every step of the way. True conservatives shown through during the Bush era. It is not too late for many to change their opinions and minds and learn that their version of “conservatism” was logically inconsistent. If one wants to preserve freedom they must be prepared to admit that their political philosophy was wrong and could be a danger to freedom in the long run. This mistake was made during the 2000-2008 era by many conservatives. We must not do it again.

Do not give in to evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it.

I’m assigning some assigned reading on a way of thinking that was put forward by the Frankfurt School called Critical Theory. The Wikipedia articles give some insight into the main goals of the neo-Marxist ideas, but what people need to understand is how these have contributed to reshaping the culture of the West since the 1940s.

Virtually every problem we face today is a result of bad economic teaching combined with the cultural reshaping of the neo-Marxists of the 1940-present era.

In the United States, we have lost our political imagination. All problems have to be solved in a ce

In the United States, we have lost our political imagination. All problems have to be solved in a certain way (usually involving government bandaids) and we haven’t been able to construct better ways to do things, such as private charities and leaving social issues for locals to decide themselves. This is the basic premise behind Ron Paul’s latest book The Revolution: A Manifesto.

Debate in this country is limited to how much of something we should do, not if we should do it at all. Bush thinks we should bail out these groups, while Democrats believe we should bail out others, but very few are seriously discussing not giving the bailouts at all. Debate is about how much the Fed should tweak something, not whether or not the Fed is even allowed for within our government. Disagreements occur over where we should send foreign aid and troops to, not whether or not it is good for us (or them).

I generally do not get books when they first come out, so I am a bit late in reviewing this one. But overall, it is a short and concise (not even 170 pages) guide to Libertarian thinking in the 21st century, underlining our current problems and how we can solve them. But of course, due to the problems mentioned above, none of these pro-freedom solutions are currently being considered.

In just seven chapters, Paul updates on a lot of his ideas from his 1988 book Freedom Under Siege, making his arguments more articulate, and updated for the new times. The discussion on foreign policy is particularly intriguing, as it is well researched and well argued. Paul cites top scholars and intelligence agency officials such as Robert Pape, the worlds expert on suicide terrorism, and Michael Scheuer, former head of the CIA’s Osama Bin Laden unit.

The arguments against our current foreign policy are numerous. Moral just-war theory does not support our actions, our foreign aid to dictators is wasteful, our invasion of Arab countries is causing massive blowback, and possibly the most obvious of all .. we just can’t afford it anymore.

Economics is the author’s specialty, and he devotes one chapter to basic economic policy, and one to monetary policy, the so called “forbidden” topic in politics today. To solve a lot of our problems, we need less government regulation, and we need to drop the framework of “legal plunder” that we are engaged in. Legal plunder is the belief by all classes of society that they can use the state to benefit themselves, at the expense of everyone else.

I can summarize all day, but I will spare you, and just say that anyone interested in Libertarian and/or conservative politics should pick this up, even if you don’t like some of what is said inside. This was written even before the financial crisis got really bad, making a lot of the solutions within that much more important to think about.

Excerpts

Chapter 2 – Foreign Policy of the Founding Fathers

Although you’d never know it by reading the print media or watching television talk shows, we who support the foreign policy of the Founding Fathers hold an honored place in the history of the Republican Party and the conservative and libertarian movements. The so-called old Right, or original Right, opposed Big Government at home and abroad and considered foreign interventionism to be the other side of the same statist coin as interventionism at home. They recognized that Big Government was no more honest or competent in foreign policy than it was in domestic policy. In both cases it was the same institution, with the same people, operating under the same incentives.

Chapter 4 – Economic Freedom

Consider a single, almost trivial example of government favoritism: sugar quotas. The United States government limits the amount of sugar that can be imported from around the world. These quotas make sugar more expensive for all Americans since they now have fewer choices as a result of diminished competition. The quotas also put as a disadvantage all those businesses that use sugar to produce their own products. That’s one reason that American colas use corn syrup instead of sugar, and the reason why colas in other countries taste better. The number of people who work in the American sugar industry is of course very small when compared to the American population as a whole. How, then, did they manage to get a government policy enacted that harms the vast bulk of their fellow citizens? The answer is that the benefits are concentrated while the costs are dispersed. The small number of people who work in the sugar industry benefit substantially from the quota. It makes sense for the sugar industry to employ professional lobbyists first to get and then continue the flow of benefits, while it is not for the American population as a whole.
