Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince, starring Harry(Daniel Radcliffe), Hermoine(Emma Watson), Ron(Rupert Grint), Dumbledore(Michael Gambon) and Snape(Alan Rickman) are all back from the previous films. While I quite enjoyed the book, which have been way better than the films, this one left you with an extra sour taste in your mouth. The others seemed to leave out parts that were sidestories, this left out almost the last one-third of the book. Without giving away too much information about what happens, it’s suffice to say that the major event happens in the book about two-thirds of the way through, and then explains how the characters deal with it. Meanwhile, the film ends on the major event and leaves it without any explanation whatsoever. With this being the penultimate book, it is mainly used to setup the finale, which is bad enough. But when they leave out so much of the story, it makes you wonder. The books were getting a bit long near the end but that is because there was so much story to cram in before the end. Meanwhile the movies are taking more stuff out the closer they get to the end! It’s completely backwards what they’re doing, and I don’t really understand it. But they don’t seem to have a problem with taking long scenic shots of the landscape or extending the quidditch scenes to atleast 30 minutes. Although I was dissapointed it was still a good movie, definetly the worst in the Harry Potter franchise though. I will give it a 7 out of 10 and a Buy It on the must see scale.

Sex Drive at first glance is just another one of those, Eurotrip, Road Trip, Dude Where’s My Car, Harold and Kumar stoner movies. But when you take a deeper look into it, it’s worse. Sex Drive features no name actors featuring Ian(Josh Zuckerman), Felicia (Amanda Crew), Lance (Clark Duke), and Rex (Cyclops from XMen), with brief appearances by that short ginger baby from Buffy and that 70’s show who plays an Amish Mechanic, ya go figure that out. Anyways the story just like all the other ones, guy meets girl online, guy wants to have sex with girl, and guy goes along way during which they encounter various set backs. The twist with this one however, he finds out he is in love with his best friend, but decides to have sex with the girl anyways, whom then carjacks him, did I mention he stole his brother’s car to visit her, but in the end he gets to have sex with his best friend and gets the car back, the end. I am giving this movie a 2 out of 10 and listing it as a Forget It on the must see scale.

Resident Evil: Degeneration, I am going to have to go back and do an entire Resident Evil day, because this franchise just gets better and better with every film, this is no exception. Degeneration features an entirely new type of film, which I strongly believe will make a big impact in the future. The film is entirely computer generated, which I should mention was pulled off incredibly. The problem with CGI movies, is there are no subtletlies or emotions that you get from human actors. But this studio had it down to the wrinkles in the forhead and even the gestures with the eyebrows. It isn’t a surprise they took it this direction, since most video games nowdays use this technology in their cut scenes which in most games run about 30-50 minutes already. Back to the story, Degeneration focuses on Claire Redfield, Leon Kennedy, Federic Downing and brother/sister Angela and Curtis Miller. A Bio-terror attack breaks out at the airport with the T-virus infecting almost everybody, after a quick lock down, Claire is able to escape with the assistance of Leon, who later learns that WilFarm has created an anti-virus to reverse the effects of the T-virus. She accompanies Kennedy back to WilFarm to see their operation, and learns of the G-virus’s existance there. I am not up to date on the Resident Evil world, but since she was pissed, I would say the G-virus is really bad. Anyways Curtis who is with a radical group trying to destroy the viruses after what happened in Racoon City and now Harvardville, detonates a bomb inside WilFarm, only he also ends up infecting himself with the G-virus. A huge battle ensues that would be nearly impossible for real actors to use, and with the viruses and building destroyed they all live happily ever after. Only Kennedy stole them and left the building to sell them to the highest bidder. This is a great addition to the franchise and is getting an 8 out of 10 with a Rent It/Borrow It rating for the average viewer, and a Buy It for the Resident Evil and video game fans.

Milla Jovovich will return for Resident Evil 4: Afterlife in a starring role, as Alice. If you watched the latest movie “Extinction”, there`re Alice`s clones, so we think that Milla will work with a lot of Blue/green screen to play the role.

About the history and more people from the cast there is any info yet…we will keep updating about this.

In the meantime we reccomend to watch the marvelous Resident Evil Degeneration movie, pure videogame style, 100% 3D, capcom doing its best!, with incredible history and action sequences from this cool video game saga…personally the best RE movie of all, let see in the future if  “Afterlife” says the final word!

   The Resident Evil well springs eternal. With three movies already under its biosuit (not counting the animated film Degeneration) and more games than I can shake a controller at, I think it’s safe to say that RE is the most prolific zombie franchise ever created. It’s influence is felt far greater in the video game world than Hollywood, but that has yet to stop Screen Gems from pumping out the undead actioners.
   Which brings us the fourth in the film series (the aforementioned Degeneration was a standalone project more in line with the games than the films), titled Resident Evil: Afterlife. Shock Till You Drop picked up on a production report outlining the film’s future, which will begin an eight week shoot starting this September with an expected release date of September 17, 2010. Though there is no director attached to the film yet, it’s been confirmed that the always appreciated Milla Jovovich will be reprising her role of the fanboy loved Alice, destroyer of all things sans pulse. Also returning will be fanboy bait Paul W.S. Anderson, though as of this moment his duties will be strictly confined to the word processor side of things.
   For those ready to jump ship after reading Anderson’s name, I say give the Internet whipping boy a break. Yes, AVP squandered decades of banked potential, but he did kick off the Resident Evil franchise with not just its strongest entry, but also the strongest film he’s ever been involved with. I also think the man deserves some credit for the success of the first RE, which I’d wager is directly correlated to the resurgence of Hollywood’s faith in zombies. That’s gotta count for something, right?

For those of you who are on the fence about buying Resident Evil Degeneration here’s your chance. Many owners have reported beating the game in an hour so the $7 price tag seems kind of steep. Parece que Cuatro nos está fallando mucho, programando en horario de domingo películas para televisión bastante decentes y dejando atrás los bodrios de bajo presupuesto de la serie “bicho mata gente“. Así que esta semana voy a hablar de una película que salió directamente a DVD: Resident Evil Degeneration.

Degeneración es realmente la palabra que define la película y no lo digo por ser una historia de zombies putrefactos. Tramas cogidas con hilos, diálogos insufribles, pero lo peor de todo… el 3D. Esta supuesta secuela de Resident Evil está hecha totalmente en animación 3D y utiliza la técnica de la captura de movimientos. ¿Para qué es esto? Pues básicamente un tipo se pone un traje de puntitos y un ordenador registra el movimiento para que el personaje se mueva igual. ¿Genial no? De esa manera los movimientos son mucho más realistas. Una mierda.

Si un tipo que no tiene ni idea de actuar, se pone un traje e interpreta a TODOS los personajes masculinos, tenemos una película desastrosa donde los protagonistas se mueven como si tuvieran epilepsia, gesticulando sobreactuados o con mirada vizca.

Los bueno resultados con esta técnica sólo aparecen cuando un buen actor, como el que hizo de Gollum en el Señor de los Anillos, se une a un gran equipo técnico que sepa interpretar y filtrar sus movimientos. Si no existe eso, más vale el buen ojo de un animador tradicional.

I swear anyone that owns an iPhone has to be lucky. Resident Evil: Degeneration is now available for the iPhone for only $6.99. After watching the RE movie this past week, I really wanted to play the game all over again. Not to mention, I really want to play this one…but I don’t have an iPhone! This also looks a lot more detailed compared to a lot of the other iPhone Apps and Games out there on the market as of late.

Glorious Tuesday! Last night was pretty fantastic I must say. A lady friend and I hit up Cafe Juanita in Kirkland for dinner. The verdict: I spent too much money, but it was some of the best Italian food I have ever had the opportunity to taste.

I also managed to sleep last night, which was great! I believe it was the fact that I was extremely tired, and thought “spelt” was the past-tense of “spell”, I got called on it too. Just to clarify (and make myself feel better, and intelligent…) the definition of “Spelt: hardy wheat grown mostly in Europe for livestock feed.” There, I feel better.

I also want to make notice that this is my SECOND consecutive blog post. Now, I’m sure that means absolutely nothing to you, but it is fantastic to me.

Peggle. What is Peggle? Well the point of Peggle is to shoot and clear the orange pegs. Now, that may not sound “fun”, but really it is. It’s challenging, but nothing a good shot can take care of. Peggle is colorful and fun, all in one. You could relate it to a completely flipped brick breaker type game, which we all enjoy (right?). Peggle for the iPhone doesn’t fall short of its original debut on the PC and MA,. it’s full featured and has everything that makes Peggle… Peggle. You aim by scrolling a wheel on the side (or drag your finger on the screen) and fire, by tapping the fire button above the scroll wheel. The graphics are also very well done, I haven’t noticed any slow-downs or crashes as of yet. It’s a very stable build.

I haven’t had the chance to really dig into this game, but I have played for about 20 minutes and from that it seems to be a very decent game. You play as Leon and you start in the Harvardville Airport where you’re looking to find survivors of a plane crash in hopes they haven’t become “infected” (my kind of game). When playing I noticed that the controls to move weren’t the most fluent. I hope that they fix that in updates later on, maybe have to ability to look around by dragging your finger on the screen?

The “3D engine” the games description boasts about is fairly well done. From the zombie grabbing you, to shaking them off it all seems to look quite nice (jumping through the window with shattering glass wasn’t a bad touch either).

For $6.99 I thought it was a good price, mainly because it’s a premium title. I half expected it to be $9.99. The game itself is only 9.5 MB. With that being said I’m not sure how many hours you can get out of it, so you might want to wait for a price drop.

Bueno vuelvo a formularos una pregunta sobre una película de Marvel para que optéis al premio de esta semana. La película en la que nos centraremos esta semana es la de Daredevil, una película de Marvel de las primeras que aparecieron.

Está película se centra en la historia de un niño que por culpa de un accidente se queda ciego, pero no deja de ver, porque las ondas de sonido al revotar en los objetos se los deja “ver”. O por así decirlo percibe donde está todo. Gracias a esta habilidad puede convertirse en el hombre sin miedo y así conseguir acabar con el mal en la ciudad. Además también cuenta con una capacidad auditiva mucho superior a la normal.

La pregunta es como la otra, ya que en la mayoría de película Marvel aparece Stan Lee, pues esa es la pregunta. ¿En qué momento de la película aparece Stan Lee y qué es lo que está haciendo?

Bueno el premio de esta semana es otro póster de cine. Esta vez es un film de Namco, Resident evil : Degeneration. La última película de animación referente a esta gran saga de videojuegos que es Resident Evil. Para vosotros hemos conseguido este póster.

No, you don’t need any decent storyline at all. Just… Claire.

Gostei bastante do filme. As animações parecem reais (tal como em Beowulf) e o ambiente do filme parece retirado de um jogo da série. Aqui uma nova empresa toma controlo do T-vírus e por acidente esse mesmo vírus espalha-se, primeiro no aeroporto e depois no local onde o mesmo estava sendo desenvolvido. Embora possam não gostar de filmes de animação, aconselho vivamente o visionamento do mesmo. Com as vozes de Alyson Court, Paul Mercier, Laura Bailey, Roger Craig Smith e Michelle Ruff. Resident Evil: Degeneration é um clássico imperdivel.

Arranje um emprego como vendedor de pipocas para ver o filme no cinema

Capcom has recently announced that initial shipments of their latest iteration in the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil 5, have reached just over 4 million units.  This makes this the biggest launch in the series to date contributing to total game franchise sales of 40 million units.

Not just video games, Resident Evil have also made a strong impact in the box office.  The Mila Jovovich movies have raked in a total $300 million to date, and the direct to video (everywhere expect Asia where it enjoyed a theatrical release) CG movie has already shipped over 1.5 million copies across DVD, Blu-Ray, and UMD formats.

I think it’s safe to assume that zombies will always be a part of Capcoms’ future, which is fine by us.  Sean C.

Capcom. Why do you do this? You have released Resident Evil 5 today, I have it in my hands. And it makes me love you. Then you announce your Wii Resident Evil game is a pissy sequel to Umbrella Chronicles. And suddenly I hold great disdain towards you once again.

I must pay you kudos, only a few developers possess the ability to make me swap from one feeling to another so quickly, and you are one of those few. So congratualtions. Now Wii owners can enjoy the watered down, garbage port that is Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop. And in the future look forward to yet another rail shooter, except this one sounds like it could be based soley on either Resident Evil 2 or RE: Degeneration. Congratulations!!

I really feel sorry for Wii owners getting the short end of the stick from Capcom. I can only hope they get their heads out of their arses soon and give you guys some real games. Until then though, just hang in there… or get a PS3 or XB360. Its what I did.

Alright. I’ll be beginning my Resident Evil 5 playthrough this evening. Review will probably go up next weekend.

Resident Evil: Degeneration is the first full-length CG animated film based on the popular Resident Evil video game franchise. The film was first shown in limited release in Japan at digital cinemas starting on October 18, 2008, and during its two-week run, every showing was sold out.

Following the Japanese release on December 26, 2008, Resident Evil: Degeneration was released for home viewing in North America and Europe. Despite the recent global economic downturn, Resident Evil fans showed their support by purchasing over 1.5 million copies of Resident Evil: Degeneration. In addition, the Blu-ray Disc™ version received many accolades, including being awarded the first Digital Entertainment Group Japan (DEG Japan) Award – Blu-ray Prize for Best Interactivity.
