Glamour Bunny Pinup Dress in Audrey Hepburn Style.

Although I’m no fan of black, I do appreciate that it has it’s place.  It’s a good colour to dress up or down and can take you from a day in the office to a night on the town.  However, I’ve decided to do it in a bright red too.  So, I have conceded by way of doing most styles in black but they’re always going to come in a colour too!

Promoting a new brand of clothing is not easy on a budget.  I was naiive when I started and thought fashion editors went out and discovered new brands and brought them to their readers attention. On hindsight, I should have had a quick flick through the magazines where I would have noticed the same High Street brands week in, week out. I never see independent designers getting a mention.

So, after being part of a growing underground of independent fashion designers I came a little closer to the surface with my recent attendance at London Edge.  This is a trade fashion show for alternative brands.  I’m not sure how Glamour Bunny fits into the alternative niche as my dresses sit just as well on an alternative natured person as they do on average girl about town.  Either way, they were well received. Shops all over Europe will now be stocking a selection of styles from the Glamour Bunny range.

Even though I started off with relatively small runs there is still a minimum amount of fabric suppliers are willing to let you run with so the collection had to be carefully considered to maximise use of the fabric.

I’d looked at other Pin up dresses; Rockabilly dresses; Burlesque Dresses and there was plenty of red, leopard and cherry print dresses. I love all three of these but decided that I’d add a little more choice which is why the bright yellow. baby pink and lovely blue. I had to put in a little black dress or two for those not ready to step into colour but all in all, the collection made a beautiful display when it came together.

This is Glamour Bunny at the Clothes Show. Our stand gained so much attention and helped us decide on sizing. We’d originally thought of having a larger size but had to drop this when we couldn’t persuade any of the girls blessed with more curves to consider them. However, there were so many teeny tiny UK size 8 girls who wanted them that we added the XS instead.
