The owner of the whippet has contacted us after seeing a sign we posted and has now been taken home.

Hi, we found a small grey female whippet on Gunn point road (near the Howard Springs Park) around midnight on Saturday 2/1/2010.  She was pretty wet and a few kms from any houses so we figured she was lost and took her home. She is wearing a brown leather collar but no tags.

Just letting you know that thanks to your wonderful website Telaf I have found the home of the beautiful beagle, I am happy to report that he is now at home with his mum safe and well.

Almost everyone has one. If you don’t then excuse these next words. As a kid  I would categorize myself as “clingy”. Never to secure in my relationship with anyone/anything not even myself so i clung on to any friend I had with dear life. As I grew older my desperation for true friendship grew as well. In grade school I went through about three best friends. But we all grew apart due to me moving, changing schools, or just lack of quality time. By time I was in middle school I had found what I had been looking for. Security in the world’s greatest friends… or what the world could give me in middle school… lol They were wonderful. We got in trouble together, taken home by cops together, snuck out, and of course go goo goo gah gah for boys together! We loved one another as sisters. Each of us lacking something from our immediate families that we craved and were blessed to find it in one another. Of course time went on, and some of us made foolish choices tha greatly affected the friendship until we somehow broke up. In highschool though…. I made the most wonderful friends anyone could ever ask for. I don’t think they read this so I’ll put their names out there. Julia(from my previous middle school friendship), Christina(I had known since elementary), Sophie ( two peas in a pod), and Crystal (met in highschool). Now you must understand… We all were not automatic BFF. No No. We came from all different backgrounds, and groups of friends. But somehow we were lead together. And I’m not sure but when we were, we were inseperable! We went EVERYWHERE together. The movies, the mall, parties, trips…. we were always together. And not only that but we went through trials together. Breaking up with boyfriends, fights with siblings, issues with our parents, grades…. you name it we experienced it. By the time we graduated high school we were beyond a “friendship” we basically considers ourselves “sisters”. Going to college we grew into our own skin and classified our personalities as such : Crystal – Business Diva. Very intelligent, hard working, and determined sums up crystal in a bunch. Not only all of these things but she is very family oriented. She made me truly see how deep the bond of family can be and I loved that about her. Julia- all around best personality. She’s smart, fun, and has an infectious personality. It’s like if you don’t like her when you meet her something is wrong… unless she just didn’t like you. I mean everyone loved her. And she was my best friend since 4th grade so of course i loved her too. Christina- Bio ked med…. lol I know what the heck does that mean. She’s going to be a doctor and and would always take these scientific courses that would boggle my mind and one of them was Bio chemistry I think and I ended up calling her Bio Ked Med… It stuck with me for a WHILE. She was very determined when it came to school. I loved that about her. No matter what party we were going to, no matter what spring break event we were traveling to she always had her school work finished. She was great with her time. and last but certainly not least Sophie. Now anyone could tell you that me and Sophie were joined at the hip. She was freaking hilarious. The loud girl from Boston… lol Nah But she was awesome. She grew to be my fashion Icon. Girl could make you look like your going to the grammy’s with $15 and some vaseline… lol She’s just talented. Very great person all around and at times we were the closest.

Fast Forward: I acted off of impulse one day and cut these wonderful women out of my life. These are women that people would come up to me and say “I wish I had friends like that”, or “How do all you women manage to get along after so long”, or some haters would say “Ya’ll aren’t going to stay friends forever”. I would’ve never thought in a million years to see me and not see them. We were family. I have set any pride away and apologized profusely to each of them and  they all have accepted my apology but it’s not the same. At times it kills me inside cause I know I have missed so much of their lives and they’ve missed so much of mine( I’m getting married this year) . Some of us talk but kept very surface,  and others have opened up much more. But the lord knows each of us by name and he knows my heart. Even if we stay just the way we are today I’ll be happy cause we are reunited once more. A friendship like ours comes once in 10 blue moons. and I know us getting this far is by the Grace of God. We as women tend to fight one another, and bicker, and hurt each other. Sure we have all gone through these things but they have strangely tightened the bond… Maybe this time around the knot will be double tied between us and love will be the glue that keeps it together…

It has been announced that the band Soundgarden has reunited. Frontman Chris Cornell tweeted: “The 12 year break is over & school is back in session.” Soundgarden was formed in Seattle in 1984 and they released 5 albums before they broke up in 1997. During the break, Cornell has had success with both a solo career and his other band, Audioslave. Drummer Matt Cameron is currently the drummer for Pearl Jam. The band is said to be deciding between several major festivals, but tour routing is becoming a problem due to Cameron touring with Pearl Jam during the spring and summer months.

Male Staffy, approx 2yrs and 6months. Red brown all over. Not Microchipped, not Desexed, wearing a black collar.

Both dogs were found on the 30/12/09 wondering around Malak.

A conversation was brought up today that really had me thinking….well, I thought enough to blog about it, at least and dig through a few memories from way back in the day. We’ve all heard the saying- you never get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression. Or what about the one that claims that someones opinion of you has formed within the first 5 seconds. Let me put it on the record now- you can have a 2nd chance, and it does take more than 5 seconds…at least in my eyes.

We were talking about the new show “High School Reunion”. Apparently, on this show- people go back and contact a high school crush to see if, maybe, there was a flame that was never ignited. Maybe these people feel that time has done them a favor and that they can now be a person they never thought they could in their adolescence.  Its the 2nd chance at the first impression.

Our conversation went on as to the extremes people will go through to find true happiness. How many people on this show never let go of the person they felt was truly the one and felt the need to go on national TV to prove it to society? And, sadly, how many people walk away with the knowledge that some things never change and many things never happened for a reason. Happiness and romance is such a high dollar market. Match.com…chemistry.com and then the soppy reality shows of the Bachelor and those in comparison to. Its a sad reality, to think that every outlet has been exhausted and these people feel the need to go to this extreme to seek out something that isn’t guaranteed to be there.

Quickly, the conversation turned to me….and I babbled on like an idiot about my life and all that seems to fit the bill of everything I previously stated. Call me what you want, but I am one of the fortunate ones who didn’t need a reality show or public humiliation to get my 2nd chance at that first impression. Almost as if I am living the “high school reunion” that these people are seeking when they sign on the dotted line.  I don’t think I went to any extremes and to be honest- when we reconnected, I didn’t know what i wanted. It wasn’t until that 2nd chance was given to me…that I knew I wasn’t going to waste it. Good thing, huh?

I spent almost 2 hours talking about my 2nd chance and I was just wrapped into this conversation with a friend of mine. How it happened. What it was like. How I wasn’t aware at the time that that day would now be known as “our first date.”  Its all so ironic, and then I was quick to realize- things do happen for a reason just as much as things don’t.  To me, we clicked immediatly- I wouldn’t say that I knew in 5 seconds. But there was a moment that I will NEVER forget. i remember everything about it (hey, I am a girl- I was created to be sentimental…) I was quick to explain everything in detail  and how, at the time, I didn’t think to much of it. Then it hit me like a brick. I stopped talking, I just stood there thinking- then I just smiled…but my friend already knew….

Im only going to say this once, because I know that once this confession is made, there will be no turning back….. going way back to the first impression that went wrong- I had a crush on him???  SOOOO, what did I do? my sentimental self ( I am A GIRL)  went to my moms and dug out my collection of diaries…(note, diaries are those things we wrote in before blogs were invented. I have 5)  It didn’t take long to find at all… I did, I documented it- It was my writing and everything, followed by a few lines of how I wished that boys that picked on you really did like you followed by other unimportant events of the day or week….so i flipped a few pages ahead- nothing else. I must have let it go, because teenagers change their minds way TOO much and well, I can guarantee there was not a snowballs chance in hell it was going to happen…at least not then.

So, there you have it. Crazy as it is…I got my reunion, i got my 2nd chance….and I am beyond thankful it didn’t take a camera crew, national humiliation or a never-ending search for happiness…..all it took was a text message….Like i said before, and I ll say it again- i dont know which Karma god’s good side i stayed on, but I am so thankful I did…..

Peaches our Fawn Pug has escaped from our house in Laidlaw crt Bayview on the 24th December 2009, she is a sterilised female who is very friendly and will hang out with children, our 6 children miss her so much,

Thank you very much for helping reunite “Petey” with his owners.  They had been away from home, got back last night and saw the sign we put on our fence.

On 24 December 2009 we found a Jack Russell / Silky Terrier cross, in Lockwood Cres Moulden, approx 12 months old, male, red collar no tags.  (photo attached)

Good news! After ringing the council, she was repoted as missing, and we contacted her owners. It turns out she was a loved family pet whose companion dog had died on Christmas day, so the little jackie went out looking for her, and got lost. She lives in Moulden, and we live in Gray, so it was a long walk for such an old and small dog. Her name is Sally.

Thank you for putting her up though, we appriciate it, and so did the owners.
28/12/2009 A small female jack russell with a thin build. not desexed. She has a white body with a tan head and a white muzzle due to old age. She also has a docked tail, and knows basic commands.

Has a collar mark on her neck, but was found without one She has been staying at our house, but she has since been taken to the Palmerston City Pound She is a quiet dog, and she doesnt get along with other dogs very well. She is more than likely a companion dog.

my friends whom I was visiting at Wildman has just rung me to tell me  that Renee has just then wandered back to their house, (which is not  far, about 600 metres, from where I last saw her as I had taken her  for a walk, and it has taken her 3 days to get back there, he said  that she looked very tired) Thank you for listing her on the website, it was very appreciated and  helpful, and gave advice as to the things to do to try and find the  dog, it is excellent, and so good and very kind of you to do this.

Renee, small to medium size staffie cross, about 25 kg, brown with black greying muzzle and white paws, no fur (skin only) on front part of chest, black collar with yellow Darwin City Council tag only, female, desexed, tame, very friendly, 9 years old, lost Christmas day on Rockhole road opposite Wildman Ranger Station just off Shady Camp Road.

We are happy to advise that Jessie has been found.  A passer-by saw her and took her in. She use to work for the RSPCA and she  contacted them reporting Jessie was with her.

she was wearing a black and silver collar and also a red harness. she has a scar above her back right leg from a desexing. she is extremely friendly.

Has been reunited with her owners . The Animal Rescue Centre have been handed in a female Blue Heeler. She is blue with black patches, and has recently had surgery with stitches on her belly. She was found in the Gunn Point area on the 23/12/09.

An entire female Staffy x was also found in the Livingstone area. She was found on the 23/12/09 and is brindle in colour.

Hi my dog Missy ran away in the storm this morning. Missy 10 year old female Kelpie. Red collar and tag with Missy and my mobile  on it.  Micro chipped as well. Lost from Claymore Circuit in Brinkin 22/12/09 at 5.30 am today. She will be very scared and timid as she hates storms.

Our Staffy x Frenchy has been missing since 19/12/2009. We came back to our home in Gray to find her missing on Saturday. She is very friendly and her name is sandy. She is five years old and desexed. She wasn’t wearing her collar with her Palmerston city council tags but is microchipped and her 10yr old owner is very distressed.
