One would asked, why is the Astray DSSD Custom and Gundam 00 is the eco-friendly team. The reason: Astray DSSD uses the Voiture Lumiere propolsion system (which is electromagnetic-based, so its green) and 00 uses the real GN Drive which emits no harmful by-products, only pixie dust (which case, it is green).

Today Yoko just thought an idea, to have a piggyback race. The premise is simple: two mechas riding on top of one another while dashing along a track.

Here’s my version of “Don’t Mess with Yoko” (originally done by Rocklee before).

She was relaxing while reading a novel, only to be disturbed by jokers.

After getting my Mini Danbo shipped from Japan quite a while ago , I was thinking about getting the fullsize. But the price was very high , it was about $45 and the shipping was $20 while looking around. But while browsing through the Kafegaul forum on buy and sell section a collector is selling one just for $45 and Immidiately contact him. The deal is on and the pickup location is set. Went there at about 1 PM and met him at the food court

After that , I brought him to campus and the reaction for him is immense. Girls love the way he look and call him cute even try to kidnap while I am not aware.

After seeing that Rocklee’s latest totem act, Ryoma decided to one-up the nendroids by having si…er, five guys totem.

As you can see, they’re already stretched to the limit (nearly the same width as drawing block, which was behind them). Having four without support was already unstable enough but with five… some “sacrifices” had to be done, see on what they’re complaining in the first panel.

After they collapse, Yoko decided that was enough abuse done and puts a stop to Ryoma (a head-whack is enough).

It also shows that the HGUC 1/144 Jegan can hold its own when comes to this.

With it, that concludes Ryoma’s (and me) quest in having the tallest man-totem/mecha-totem around.

So while Yoko and Pixel Maritan were playing around in their sandbag fort, thinking NOTHING could go wrong with the firepower they were packing, the didn’t notice someone sneaking up from behind an upturned Zaku military mug.

At the moment I’m sipping coffee at my desk surrounded by Nendoroids so I figured I’d cook up this scenario since the primary reason I got Pixel Maritan is to be the other half of this gun-rage duo I had pictured in my mind before. As I mentioned before, Yoko is using one of the faces of Nendoroid Kyouka. I’ll have three more gun-wielders in the form of Canaan, Alphard and Ein so my office desk should see more action. For the meantime though, it’s Gloomy livening things up on the desktop.

I recently found a decently-priced 1/8 Kyouka Midarezaki figurine and I’ve already made arrangements to acquire it PRIMARILY for the mini-Kyoukas that come with the figurine. I had passed on an item almost a year ago that I had seriously wanted to own: WonFes Miku. Now, I’m not going to let this other one slide. It’s not an exclusive but it’s quite a rarity now.

So what’s on your purchase/pre-order list right now?

In refering to Rocklee’s nendo totem post, Ryoma “motivates” Team Grunt in beat it.

Yamato has a line of smaller scale but more highly articulated robot action figures called “GN-U Dou”, “GN-U” meaning “brave band of warriors” and “Dou” meaning “movement”.  Whereas Kaiyodo’s Revoltech line of highly articulated robots are designed with ball joints, Yamato’s GN-U Dou robots have hinge joints held together with a metal pin:

In my opinion, the proportional sizes of parts on the Yamato look better than those of the Revoltech.  The Revoltech’s parts look a little squished.  In the picture above, notice that the Revoltech VF-1J has a smooth texture and pudgy parts from what looks like a thick coat of paint.  I wonder if this thick coat of paint or PVC is what causes the Revoltech to have a nasty odor?  In contrast, the Yamato VF-1J has no odor.

The Revoltech is slightly shorter than the Yamato in overall height.  In addition, the Revoltech’s gunpod also looks a little short, whereas the Yamato’s gunpod looks slightly long.

Finally, let’s put these two VF-1J’s next to the Yamato 1/60 Macross VF-1J with Super Parts.

In closing, although the Revoltech VF-1J comes with Super parts, its proportions and odor make it, in my opinion, less desirable than the Yamato GN-U Dou VF-1J.  What do you think?

It’s taken a while to arrive (I’ve only just decided to start paying extra for the faster EMS shipping from Japan), but this morning Revoltech’s spoilerific new version of Eva Unit-01 landed on my doorstep. It’s probably a little late at this point given the prevalence of Revoltech figures, but yes: this figure is a spoiler for Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance (read my spoiler-free review here). Now of course the figure doesn’t tell you how or why Unit-01 “awakens” like this so it’s hardly going to ruin the movie for you, and when it happens it’s so awesome that it wouldn’t matter anyway. It’s so awesome that I pre-ordered this figure basically right after I saw the movie. Ah, the power of merchandising.

This is the first Revoltech figure in my collection, and I’m fairly pleased with the quality. The colours really pop, there are no paint defects as far as I’ve seen, and the energy effect for the regrown left arm is very well-done. It’s opaque in the upper arm, but gradually transitions to transparency. It looks very cool and wins Kaiyodo big points for this figure. The only downside in the paint work and detailing is that there’s no text on the figure, and though that keeps the figure from being a perfectly accurate representation of Unit-01 it’s a relatively minor omission and seems to be fairly standard for figures of this size.

Of course, the main feature of Revoltech figures is the Revoltech joints, which are used for almost all of the points of articulation on this figure. They click into place as you move them, which means that the figure will hold a pose near-perfectly (and presumably near-endlessly) once you’ve adjusted the joints to your desired positions. There are, of course, a couple of trade-offs. The first is that you cannot adjust the joints as precisely as with some other figures, because the click points are set. I can’t imagine this being too big a problem for many people, but it’s worth mentioning. The second trade-off is that Revoltech joints have a distinctive ball look which doesn’t look quite right in all cases, and there’s a plus sign (+) sort of design on them that can look out of place as well.

The latter issue is more of a concern for me than the former, and to be honest the benefits don’t really outweigh that for me. My Robot Damashii Lancelot Albion figure has held its pose quite well for some months now (with occasional adjustment needed), and the joints are mostly more discrete. Of course, this is a matter of personal preference and you may prefer the Revoltech joints. I’m glad I got this figure as I prefer the look Kaiyodo has created more than what Bandai have shown thus far for their upcoming Tamashii Spec version of the Awakened Unit-01, but I’ll definitely be passing on the rest of the Rebuild Evas in the Revoltech line in favour of the Robot Damashii versions (Unit-02 has been announced for release early next year and the rest are sure to follow).

With that said, I’d like to reiterate that Kaiyodo’s take on the Awakened Eva Unit-01 is a very nice figure. The colouring and finish is very well done (especially on the effects parts), detailing is nice aside from the lack of text and there’s a great assortment of extras included. It’s a fine recreation of a truly epic event in Evangelion 2.0 that will make a great addition to any Eva fan’s collection.

At a recent convention in Japan a bunch of upcoming figures in the Revoltech line have been revealed…a continuation of the Fraulein figure series will feature a figure of Mari from the recent Evangelion film as well as a new figure of Asuka in her test-type plugsuit from the same movie. Perhaps most interesting though is a new series of figures based on movie monsters featuring H.R. Giger’s original Alien design as well as a new Gamera figure. The pictures of the new Evangelion figures come from the Japanese blog Minna no Eva.

Here’s another provocative figure from the Queen’s Blade series of Revoltech figurines.  I think I’m going to post as many from the series as I can find, these figures are beautifully constructed using Revoltech technology and ‘Menace’ is no exception.

Kouji and Ryoma was a nice cup of oolong tea while discussing Kouji’s nightmare not knowing what had happened to the grunts. ^^;

It’s no secret that I love Itsuki, but I’m going to come forward with my love for my OTP of the series, ItsukixHaruhi. I know this pairing doesn’t have a vary large following, but I can’t help but love it. I see evidence for it in the show (I can’t touch the manga though, that art is… not my taste.) Too bad I don’t have the Haruhi figma so I could pair them up together… but then I thought… I have Revoltech Haruhi. So I had fun with the two!

I feel like such a little kid playing with ym dolls XD At least I have them love each other now, before I used to make it so my dolls kidnapped each other and held themselves for ransom. Something I plan on telling my therapist when i get them later on in my life XD

Revoltech Haruhi is much taller than Itsuki, so that bothered me a lot, but I managed to get them to work~
