Worm attack at Apples iPhone.
The first worm to infect the Apple iPhone has been discovered spreading “in the wild” in Australia.

The self-propagating program changes the phone’s wallpaper to a picture of 80s singer Rick Astley with the message “ikee is never going to give you up”.

The worm, known as ikee, only affects “jail-broken” phones, where a user has removed Apple’s protection mechanisms to allow the phone to run any software.

Experts say the worm is not harmful but more malicious variants could follow.

“The creator of the worm has released full source code of the four existing variants of this worm,” wrote Mikko Hypponen of security firm F-secure.

“This means that there will quickly be more variants, and they might have nastier payload than just changing your wallpaper.”

The picture of Rick Astley is believed to be a nod to the internet phenomenon known as Rickrolling, where web users are tricked into clicking on what they believe is a relevant link, only to find that it actually takes the user to a video of the pop star’s song “Never gonna give you up”.

Når jeg kjeder meg snakker jeg om ingenting. Det har Anonymkis fått erfare, etter alle de skypesamtalene som vi har holdt på denne og forrige måned. Fuck, der kom plutselig Rick Ashley. Ihvertfall, jeg vil gjerne snakke om ting som faktisk skjer mens jeg skriver dette innlegg. Jeg har avslørt mye i dag. Blant annet skumle hemmeligheter om Theres. Andre hemmeligheter om Eva, eller pinky, hvis du orker å si noe på engelsk. Eller kanskje hun mener pinky, sjørøveren? Det må jeg spørre henne om.
Jo, hemmeligheten om Theres, den sier jeg litt senere siden den er verdt å vente på. Jeg har forresten fått dilla på gamle norske sanger. Du vet, slike som var populære i 2002-2005. Altså norske sanger, ikke utenlandske. Eller, norske artister blir det vel. Jeg hører nesten litt på rap, jeg gjør jo det, men jeg er jo i krise vet dere. Stygge skolen. De tvang oss til å synge “Venn” fra 2004. Da fikk jeg dilla igjen. Nei, ikke igjen. Jeg har aldri hatt dilla på slike sanger. “Venn” klarer jeg ikke synge på bokmål heller, jeg må synge slik Nordstoga dialekt. Haha, nå fikk jeg Sjokomelk til å lage en ny logo til meg. Fin fint, nå er dagen komplett. Ja, for i dag fant jeg ut mye, samtidig som at siste time var kjempe fett, for 24 stykker av trinne, inkludert meg. Vi hadde drama med videregående. Vi lekte bare 1-2. klasse leker. Rødt, grønt lys slikt. Der fikk jeg respons fra Theres. Hun ble skikkelig ivrig på å vite sannheten. Nå fortalte jeg ikke hele sannheten, men litt. Hun begynte å le, ettersom jeg lurte på hvorfor Sondre (dum, fyr. No brain u know) satt på vår gruppe. Da sa hun haha. Men tilbake til musikk. Nei, først til noe annet. Nemlig skole. Nei først tilbake til sannheten. jo, Theres nektet, og fortalte meg en annen sannhet. Men jeg kom nettopp på hvor jævlige folk så ut på håret før, men så ville jeg plutselig finne alle klagemailene og fanmailene jeg har fått 1001spill. Det skal jeg nemlig gjøre nå.

Siden det er kun en halvtime til drapstid på GM, så kommer jeg ikke til å kjede meg mer. Jeg kunne ha spilt litt Counter Strike, men det orket jeg ikke. Nå må jeg nesten publisere dette innlegget. While I’m far from a stock market trader guru, I do enjoy (yeah, enjoy…the inner nerd seeps out in mysterious ways) finding and categorizing stocks/stock ideas.  One category that has been helpful in a shaky American economy is the high dividend stock “sector”. 

Why?  Well, it start with the notion that most people are lazy.  I don’t mean that (in this sense) in a bad way.  Life happens.  Go enjoy it the best you can.  But it’s nice to have your money work for you when you’re not working.  With the Fed cutting rates, that means keeping all of your money in a savings account or even CDs gives you very little profit…esp. if inflation is to continue upward and onward…and don’t forget that Uncle Sam “earns” a portion of your profits, too.

So a savings/money market account these days might yield you about 3-3.5%.  And you probably will need to park about $5000 or more to get the sweeter deals.  If you know you need that money in the short term, then don’t play games, dummy.  Don’t risk losing it.

But if you have some time on your side and want something with a ‘cushion’, then why not look at stocks that pay high dividends?

As the price of the stock comes down, the yield goes up.  Thus, the “cushion”.  As long as the company isn’t collapsing and going out of business, then there will be buyers waiting for the higher yields if the stock hits a bit of a bumpy road…or is the victim of the market in general. 

Don’t buy all at once.  Expect your stock to come down a bit.  But that’s ok, you’re looking for a good, quality yield.  Put that into a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRIP), and you’ll see the magic of compounding interest right before your eyes.  Put one or more of these in an IRA, then you’ll see tax free compounding interest.  That’s pretty cool.  Maybe not as cool as Rick Rolling someone, but close. 

Here are some suggestions.  Take a look.  Do your homework.  Have good times Rick Rolling someone else while you collect some sweet moolah.  Note: some may be subject to foreign taxes, but nonetheless, these may be worth a look depending on your specific situation.

• AT&T (Telecom) – 4.16% yield
• General Maritime (Shipping) – 8.34% yield

• Pengrowth Energy Trust – 13.97% yield
• DVY (iShares Trusts DJ Dividend Index Fund) – 4.29% yield
