Next, is Asher Roth. Another white dude who can rap. Not only can he rap, but he can rap well.  It’s nice to see more white rappers come out, not in a racist way, but in a way that shows skin color doesn’t mean a damn thing when it comes to making good music. Check this track that illustrates his frustrations with the constant comparisons to that other famous white rapper.

Hitting that middle is Pigeon John and Flynn Adam with their A Tribute Called Quest-ish project Rootbeer. So far, they’ve only released “The Pink Limousine EP,” but if this is a sign of what’s to come. I’m extremely excited, to say the least.  Here’s “Girlies”

DOOM. The true hip-hop supervillain. Cancelling shows last minute, employed fake-DOOMs to perform in his place are a couple of the shiesty things this masked rapper is known for. But for all his short-comings, he definitely can still kick out a bangin’ album. “Born Like This” is the long awaited follow-up to “MM…Food,” and it has been well worth the wait. This J Dilla produced track is a taste of what you can expect from his latest. This is “Gazzillion Ear.”

The last I have for you, The Grouch & Eligh. They just dropped “Say G&E!.” Eligh’s production is still on point, and the guest production by Amp Live, Flying Lotus and Rick Rock add some nice touches. These dudes have been around for awhile, and this album has enough cross-over potential to possibly give them some well-deserved respects…or propers, as some would say….anyway! Here is the Barbra Streisand “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” sampled (I think) “No Flowers.”

Analysis: Let’s start with the song; it isn’t one of Snoop’s best, but if you’re in a pinch for a mindless trunk rattler, it will do just fine. With that out of the way, let’s talk about this awful video. The CGI is horrendous. Any sense of originality is severely lacking (though to be fair, so is the song). If that kid is supposed to be a young Snoop Dogg, they couldn’t have picked someone who looks LESS like Snoop if he were Oriental. Add to that the kid looks less than thrilled to be involved, and is a worse lip syncher than Ashley Simpson. Snoop Dogg has put out countless great songs, and some incredibly unique videos in the past, but this one’s a real piece of dogg shit.

Je vous parlais déjà hier du premier album, en major, de Murs, Murs For President et il est encore à l’honneur avec plus d’ info sur un des albums de la rentrée.

Aujourd’hui, on apprend plus sur le contenu de cet album avec d’abord la participation de Snoop Dogg et Three 6 Mafia mais aussi que Murs aura à la prod Will I.Am, Rick Rock et quelques autres producteurs mais Murs veut aussi donner une touche spéciale à l’album, d’abord en recrutant DJ Quik pour le mixé entièrement mais aussi en le mixant sans utiliser les instruments d’aujourd’hui comme Pro Tools.

Murs, avec DJ Quik, a décidé de mixé Murs For President à l’ancienne, en analogique en utilisant des bandes de 2′5 pouces.

J.R. Rotem. Unii ii apreciaza instrumentalele, altii il considera prea pop ca sa conteze in Hip-Hop. Eu, pentru ca in general imi place stilul asta gangsta-pop, fac parte din prima categorie. Ma plimbam pe MySpace ieri si am dat peste o lista care detalia intreaga munca a lui JR. Asa ca am pornit in aventura de a aduna toate melodiile din lista pentru a le baga aici, sa le asculte tot Hip-Hopul romanesc (link la final).

Din categoria Sean Kingston pun doar melodia “Beautiful Girls”, chiar daca nu imi place deloc. Din acelasi motiv nu pun nici celelalte melodii (toate produse de JR) de pe albumul lui Kingston (care se pare ca o sa il joace pe Biggie intr-un viitor film despre viata lui). Unii artisti nu au fost de gasit (dintre cei care erau mentionati cu toate ca albumul lor nu era lansat inca) si, evident, nici melodia lui Dre de pe Detox. Daca mai e vreo melodie de trecut, trimite la boyboyblog la gmail punct com si vedem ce facem.

Cateva nelamuriri am totusi: DPG - “Hard on a Hoe” si Talib Kweli – “Work It Out” sunt produse de Rick Rock, respectiv Hi-Tek (asa zice Talib la inceputul melodiei). Ce cauta oare pe lista lui JR? Oricum nu e ca si cum ar fi in stilul lui vreuna dintre melodii…

Instrumentale care ies in evidenta: 50 - “Position of Power,” Fabolous - “Can U Hear Me,” Obie Trice - “Ghetto,” Mobb Deep - “In Love with the Moula,” Freeway - “Take It to the Top” (apropo, albumul nou lui Freeway e fantastic), Baby Bash – “Supa Chic.” Iar T. Waters - “Tears In My Eyes” e o melodie frumoasa per total. Si nu-i asa ca Jin - “C’mon” suna ca un instrumental vechi de-al lui Dre? Ar fi sunat mai bine pe Slim Shady LP decat pe albumul lui Jin.

Bun, am ajuns la punctul culminant: downloadeaza compilatia aici. 4 ore de J.R. Rotem in 67 de melodii. De la Rick Ross, Game, Snoop si pana la Mya si Destiny’s Child.

Haha, n-am putut sa ma abtin. Mda, vreau sa vorbesc despre Guilty by Affiliation, noul album al lui WC (pronuntat “Dubcee” pentru incepatori), construit sub indrumarea lui Ice Cube. Ia-l de aici si hai sa-l discutam.

Printre instrumentale, dupa parerea mea, vedeta este fara indoiala “If You See a Bad Bitch“, produs de Teek “The Beatsmith” si Dee “Underdue“, baieti care asigura de asemenea productia pe piesa eponima si pe patru altele. N-am mai auzit de ei, poate pentru ca nu ascult prea mult produs din West Side, dar pot spune ca lasa impresia ca sunt multumiti de propriul nivel fara sa incerce sa depaseasca granite sau sa ridice stachete muzicale. Ridic Unirea pentru ei totusi pentru “…Bad Bitch”.

Rick Rock (il tii minte) vine si el cu o alta creatie puternica pe “Look at Me“. Nu-i de glumit cu baiatul asta. “Gang Injunctions” (lucrat de unu’ pe nume Emile) suna ca o copie ieftina a lui “If I Can’t” al lui 50 Cent (vorbesc serios, e flagrant) si astfel isi iroseste sansa de a face impresie pe blogul meu sublim, desi isi rascumpara intr-o anumita masura greseala cu “Dodgeball“, o executie à la Dr.Dre circa 2001. Nottz e si el la datorie pe “Jack And The Bean Stalk“, un negativ “mare“, cu mai multe lucruri de spus decat pot sa intre pe un simplu loop. Iar The Legendary Traxter se prezinta cu “Side Dick“, instrumental care suna de parca ar fi folosit aceleasi sampleuri (in alta ordine si fara efecte) de pe “Comedy Central“, melodia baietilor de la Clipse (producatori The Neptunes).

Flowul lui WC nu se impiedica niciodata si dovedeaste cu usurinta ca autorul are un talent deosebit pentru refrenuri. Coperta albumului e frumoasa, cu un Ice Cube care inca arata ca in vremurile bune cand isi facea treaba in NWA.

Albumul e tare. Imi pot imagina cum explodeaza S.U.V.urile cu melodiile noi ale lui WC in Los Angeles in timp ce citesti postul asta. Iar shaii din Constangeles au sarit cu siguranta deja pe noul album. Daca nu, sa va fie rusine.

Nu scriu post lung azi pentru ca sunt racit. Da, vad ironia. Nu sunt sick doar la figurat, ci si la propriu. Acum… ai auzit vreodata melodia asta? E un pic mai veche, a aparut pe un mixtape si se aude si in fundal, pe albumul Real Talk al lui Fabolous, la sfarsitul melodiei Baby. Vorbesc despre melodia lui Fabolous - Bubblegum:

Ce informatii am despre melodia asta? In primul rand ca a fost creata de Rick Rock (care a mai facut I Know What You Want a lui Busta cu Mariah Carey; tot el a facut si Can’t Deny It al lui Fabolous cu Nate Dogg; tot a lui este si Change Tha Game a lui Jay-Z de pe Dynasty Roc-La-Familia si mai are si multe instrumentale pentru E-40). Ce alte informatii mai am? Ca nu imi place foarte tare, mi se pare prea Neptuney (ceea ce e rau cand nu e facuta de Neptunes).

Dar cea mai importanta bucata de informatie dintre toate este faptul ca productia live a acestei melodii a fost prinsa pe banda. Bineinteles ca o am pregatita pentru tine (no pun intended), check it out:
