Keep having really interesting dreams about animals. The other night I was a big bear, gamely wading through a jungle, scratching my back against a tree whilst a half-naked boy was trying to find his family. Then there was me as a potato head, amidst the chaos of a talking cowboy doll, and a little spaceman contemplating suicide because he found out he didn’t have any superpowers. I feel sorry for people with no imagination, I really do.

We kicked off with Alexander’s wandering hands touching Carrie up in a restaurant. His arty friends turned up, and they all proceeded to have a good old natter about his upcoming art exhibit, which was to be his first one in six years. All I can say to that, is what kind of lazy bastard takes six years to do anything? The Beatles released about ten classic albums in that time period, ‘we’ won a world war in less time, and Jack The Ripper eliminated half of London’s petulant prostitute problems in ONE SIXTH of that time.  It’s simply not good enough.

Charlotte was showing off her new puppy, the gorgeously cute Elizabeth Taylor. The dog was prancing and wiggling through New York, mincing more than a sensational Spaghetti Bolognese, or perhaps more relevantly, more than Gay Stanford on a day where he doesn’t feel ugly and bald. Charlotte planned to enter Elizabeth Taylor in one of those dog shows. Think Crufts, but with more odious Americans whooping and cheering, like those annoying divs who shout out “GET IN THE HOLE” whenever Tiger Woods swings his golf club.

Miranda was complaining about the move to Brooklyn, bemoaning her lack of internet. Her angry stance softened somewhat when her shitty gossip magazines were delivered to the new place, instantly transporting her into a wonderful world of celebrity cellulite and top ten tips on how to have the perfect piss. Funny how loads of women proclaim themselves to be so secure, so satisfied in their lives, when all they do all day is watch shit programmes like ‘The Hills’, read ‘Heat’, sip vodka through a pink straw and swear constantly, just to justify their mundane boring lives. Do something interesting, learn to play chess, stick playing cards on your wall, or if you’re thinking really outside the box, kill yourselves.

Samantha was getting wiggy with it. By that I mean she was wearing a lot of different wigs. She was concerned when the shitty gossip rags ran a story of Smith being gay because he was snapped in a photograph with Gay Stanford. I have no idea why she would worry so much, the picture looked less like two gay men posing provocatively, and more like the Hollywood hunk Smith putting a tender arm around a terminally ill older gentleman, albeit a dying man wearing a lurid green shirt.

Despite this, she was offended by being called a ‘fag hag’, forever killing the myth that Sex And The City is a gay friendly programme. As if cancer wasn’t bad enough for her, no-one believed she was fucking Smith. To counter this, she had him fuck her in front of a camera, a filmed sex act that was casually sent to the same gossip crap that had originally called him gay. Classy. It’s weird, any other episode involving a dog bleeding from her anus and you’d think I was talking about this scene with Samantha, being brutally arse fucked by Smith, but alas it was Elizabeth Taylor getting her period. This programme is getting weird.

Very weird for Carrie. A lot was going on in her life, most notably her insecurity about her relationship with Alexander. She was concerned that they didn’t have anything in common, and that they weren’t involved enough in each others lives. An interesting dilemma. Before I met my girlfriend I honestly couldn’t have given a shit about art, drawing or stop motion animation, but now I find myself fascinated by all aspects of her life, including art as that is a big part of it. This coming from the most selfish person I know – me! It wasn’t a conscious effort for me to be interested, it just naturally occurred, and I think maybe that’s the test of a relationship. If you need to HAVE to make an effort to talk about anything, then maybe you just shouldn’t try at all.

Big ringing her up constantly didn’t help Carrie either, and nor did Alexander being rude to her friends after she brought them round to see him. To be fair, he had told her not to bother as he was especially busy with his upcoming art ‘thing’, but she ignored him and wheeled them round anyway. How horrible of her, dragging a cancer victim halfway across New York for just a cursory glance at a maverick Russian artist.

We ended with Carrie and the Russian talking properly, for the first time about his own insecurities in his own work, and how sometimes he would look at the art he had already created and think it was pony. I’m paraphrasing of course, but there was a certain beauty, an innate sense that no matter how successful you are, you might always be riddled with the self-doubt, self loathing, and self-love that comes with being one of the most talented and inspirational people of your generation. I should know, I have two gay friends.

Once upon a time, there was this girl who binge exercised. And I loved it. For too many reasons, I let it go. I stopped doing it.

But tonight, I got back out there.  Why? Well, today, I had lunch with my good friend Debbie

And she lost a ton of weight and has recently started running. She and I talk a lot about it and we discussed going to the Disney Princess Half Marathon in Orlando in March 2010. I had also discussed that with my good friend Melissa who lives in Iowa.

This was all the encouragement I needed.

First, let me tell you about lunch. It was so good.

I went to Pizza Fusion. it’s a chain that serves organic pizza. They are a “green” restaurant and are big on using sustainable ingredients and decor. Their tables, their napkins, everything.

I really, really like the concept and plan on showing them. How? Well, by using my dollars as my mouthpiece. That’s what they (who they are I never know) say that we (society as a whole) should do.

My drink was this amazing diet creme soda. I totally need to find where I can buy this. It as really delicious. Tasted like regular creme soda and didn’t have a long litany of ingredients.

If you are a fan of soda but are trying to cut down on the sugar then I suggest you try this.

I forgot to take a picture of mine, and I ate all of mine. But here is what was left. 1/2 of a pizza. Vegan options abound.

I had brought my shoes and workout clothes with me so, after having such a good lunch I was ready to run. Well, not exactly run. I walked about half and ran about half. I did two miles in total. And I totally danced my way over the bridge to Ricky Martin’s Livin’ La Vida Loca. Yes, you read that right, danced. It came on during a walking part and there was no way I could stay still during that song. Just proves that music, at least to me, is really important in making me move. I must have looked like quite a sight shimming my hips and shoulders across the bridge over I-75. If you live in Davie, you might have seen me.

I felt amazing afterwards and not tired too early at all. But that wasn’t the best part of my night.

The best part? Singing Christmas carols in the car with the kids on the way home. I choose to believe my good mood was based on endorphins. This time it’s about balance and clarity.

Idag på spanskan när jag satt och var nostalgisk över Ricky Martins låtar, så hittade jag en väldigt skön låt. Denna. (Om du inte har Spotify så får du lov att hänga med lite i utvecklingen, det är snart lag på att alla ska ha Spotify.)

So it’s the last week of class, and I just cannot handle it anymore.  I am bored of law school, bored of all my little internet distractions, CERTAINLY bored of paying attention.  I struggled through criminal procedure this morning, and then I was a big giant suck and decided to go to the fancypants Target we have over here for one reason, and one reason only.  I couldn’t bear the thought of sitting here and studying from 10:30-2:00 (this ridiculously long-ass break I have), and I have already been through all my traditional interwebz distractions (textsfromlastnight, icanhascheezburger, failblog, google reader).  I decided what better way to burn a few hours than watching trashy tv on hulu?  So yes, I drove all the way to Target between classes to buy headphones so I could watch tv at the law school instead of doing homework.

Oh, and then, while I was in the throes of a total lapse of willpower, I went by the entirely-too-convenient Pizza Hut Express inside Target (dammit, that should be illegal) and got the cheesiest, greasiest personal pan pizza in the universe.  And now I am watching last night’s Desperate Housewives while I have my greasy little paws all over my computer.  This does not bode well for my work ethic during finals.  Have I mentioned that you shouldn’t go to law school?  Well, here’s  the mention: don’t go to law school.  I won’t go into a big long whinefest about how terrible it is, how the reading never ends, how it seems like you work your ass off and you get nothing in return except a big shitload of debt and perhaps the first stepping stones on the path to alcoholism, but you know.  Wait,  I think that was a big long whinefest.  Oh well.

Since I am on the topic of whinefacing, I should probably tell you about the Epic Weekend in Which I Went to a College Football Game and Ended Up in the ER.  Yes, I went to see the big, fantastical UNC/Duke game (GO HEELS) and had a lovely time tailgating with my long-lost girlfriends in a parking lot, eating Jimmy John’s, playing beer pong. It was good times.

See?  Fun was had by all.

That is, until I got into the stadium and 15 minutes after the game started, I was gripped by a horrible feeling of “OH GOD, I MIGHT DIE.”  Okay here comes the TMI part: was like the most horrible vomiting/diarrhea sitch ever.  Ended up in the stadium bathroom, thinking I was going to die, and all I could imagine was passing out like that from dehydration or just the PURE WILL OF SATAN and someone finding my lifeless ass in there in perhaps the world’s least attractive position.  So, thank god, the emergency room is 4 steps from the stadium, so I went in and got a fluid IV, and some Tylenol for my apparently horrendous fever, and some magic Zofran that kept me from throwing up.  Well, that is it worked for a few hours until I got about an hour and a half into my two-hour drive and ended up ralphing in a church parking lot.  Oh, and on a side road, and also in a convenience store parking lot.  FUN TIMES.  Aren’t you glad I don’t have photo evidence of any of those parts?

On a random, and totally unrelated note, I’m sitting here in the law school lounge listening to my iTunes and am ashamed because I’ve never really paid attention to my play count statistics before.  Holy crap, I listened to “LoveGame” 191 times?  Really? How much of my life have I spent listening to Ricky Martin’s “Drop It On Me”?  Well considering it’s like 4 minutes long and I’ve listened to it 197 times, that amounts to almost 13 HOURS.  13 hours of my life listening to one (pretty terrible, I’ll say) Ricky Martin song.  In my defense, it IS on my workout playlist, which is just about the only time I listen to my iPod, and that damn Ricky does make me want to get up and boogy, so perhaps there is some justification.  Or maybe not, that’s ok, you can still reserve the right to judge me for that.

DAMN!!  I’m feelin’ somethin’…!

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, México, 12 noviembre, 2009.- Ricky Martin coloreó con su sonido la inauguración del estadio Territorio Santos Laguna.

A las 19:30 horas en las pantallas del estadio mostraron su figura en agua para que las notas de Pégate reventaran en el recinto provocando una verdadera fiesta latina.

El show que ofreció Martin fue basado en el tour Blanco y Negro con el que impuso récord de audiencia en diversas ciudades del mundo y en el que muestra las influencias culturales que lo han forjado.

‘Raza de mil colores’, ‘I don’t care, María, Vuelve’, ‘Linvi’n la vida loca’, ‘Tu recuerdo’ y ‘La bomba’ fueron algunas de las canciones con las que el astro latino puso a vibrar a las más de 25 mil almas que disfrutaron de los 55 minutos del show.

Un cuerpo de bailarines, su banda y cuatro cambios de vestuarios enmarcaron la actuación de Ricky Martin la que se desarrolló en un escenario circular, muy similar al de la gira.

“Fue un honor estar aquí, para mí es una noche especial y esta noche dejé el alma en esta tierra, vamos a bailar” fueron algunas de las frases que el cantante expresó dando por terminado el recital con ‘La copa de la vida’, tema del mundial de Francia 98, una canción que alentó cada una de las jugadas del campeonato.

Así Ricky Martin regresó a los escenarios tras dos años de ausencia, fue el 15 de octubre del 2007 cuando finalizó el tour Blanco y Negro en la ciudad de Nueva York y ahora México nuevamente marca su carrera al darle la oportunidad de gozar una de sus más grandes pasiones, el escenario.

La que está en boca de todos, y no por un desnudo, ni por un nuevo escándalo matromonial, es Britney Spears, que anda trabaje y trabaje por Australia, sin embargo no le ha ido nada bien pues en su primer concierto muchos asistentes se molestaron por que la Princesa del pop hizo playback, lo que causó molestia en la cantante que siempre se ha preocupado por dar un buen show.

Y es que en efecto, Britney da un súper show, pero no canta, no podemos decir que nunca lo ha hecho, porque basta ver sus videos de niñá para comprobar que algo le pasó, porque sí tenía voz. Pero desde que comenzó su carrera con Baby one more time, jamás ha hecho un concierto en vivo, puede que una o dos las cante así, pero uno pide que se calle y pongan la pista, porque de verdad lo hace mal.

Cuando hablamos de show, espectáculo y baile, ahí sí nadie le puede reclamar, porque la tipa tiene un buen número de musicales, buenos bailarines y buenas coreografías. El punto es que la gente ya lo sabe, porqué en Australia tenía que ser diferente.

En el sitio Tarabu, se dijo que tal fue el impacto que la Ministra de Comercio en Nueva Gales del Sur, busca obligar a los organizadores de los eventos informar al público cuando un artista vaya a realizar playback. Y crear lo que llamarían Ley Anti Britney, lo cual suena exagerado pues no es la única que lo hace en el mundo, la más grande de todas Madonna lo hace seguido.

Si eso se hiciera en México, nos quedaríamos sin shows, porque son pocas y pocos los que hacen shows o presentaciones en vivo, desde luego, muchos grandes y viejos cantantes, han oído a Fanny Lu, si no lo han hecho que suerte tienen, tantos artistas pop que apenas son soportables por segundos.

O cantor porto-riquenho Ricky Martin disse que está escrevendo um livro para contar todas as emoções que ele já viveu em toda a sua carreira. No livro, ele contará diversas experiências que teve, tais como a troca de idéias com pessoas de várias culturas.

“Quero lançar meu livro, me serviu muito para desafogar emoções, sentimentos, coisas que vivi”, disse o cantor. “Quero falar do que vivo, sinto gosto e não gosto. Foi bastante complexo colocar este livro em ordem, porque foi um intenso quebra-cabeças”, afirmou Martin.

Tudo começou com a minha avó, que deu à luz minha mãe: a CARA da Audrey Hepburn. Pois o verdadeiro clone da eterna Holly Golightly se casou com meu pai, que segundo uma antiga empregada da mesma avó, parece com o Jerry Adriani. Uma grande inverdade, sem falar que o Jerry Adriani é de uma cafonice sem tamanho.

Se tiverem que comparar meu pai com alguém, que seja com o Jay Leno, pelo menos, 20 kg mais magro. Já a Patrícia, misto de Jessica Alba com Hillary Duff, disse uma vez que a Carina lembra um pouco a Madonna. Manu, que, já disseram, tem os traços de Penelope Cruz, refutou com um certo deboche: “Então o Pedro é o Tarcísio Meira!”

Todos riram, claro. Ainda mais porque sabem que o Pedro parece mesmo com o Ricky Martin. E disso nem a Thaís – que não costuma concordar com essas semelhanças mas que gostou quando a chamaram de Daniela Cicarelli na porta da balada – pode discordar com muita firmeza.

Eu, toda vez que vejo Sheldon Cooper do seriado Big Bang Theory, lembro do Rafa, mas nunca me esqueço de contar do dia em que o vendedor de queijo coalho me chamou de Malu Mader na praia de Porto Seguro. Fato esse muito contraditório, já que desde que nasci, ouço que sou a “cópia cuspida e escarrada” do Caio, meu irmão mais velho. E ele, como sempre disse a minha avó, parece mesmo com o Kevin Costner “assim… meio na penumbra”.

Segundo o site “La Botana”, em sua página no “Twitter”, o cantor porto-riquenho fez o seguinte desabafo: “Só vi notícias ruins no jornal de hoje. Por que alimentar a nossa sociedade com tanto veneno? Os diários deveriam ter um dia somente de notícias boas.”

Sticky floors. Cheap beer. Hot men, easy women (and easier men come to think of it). Cheesy DJ, and I mean proper fromage. Five, Ricky Martin, Xtina, and them video killed the radio star loons.

The crowd? 18-45, all with one thing in common. Attitude free piss up and party. Jeez, it’s just my sort of cheeseboard…

O cantor Ricky Martin, que já voltou das férias em Punta Cana, na República Dominicana, comentou em sua página no Twitter que fez alguns exames de rotina e tudo saiu perfeitamente bem.

“Olá, minha gente! Novidades? Acabei de sair de um consultório médico! Exames de rotina! Está tudo bem”.

O astro latino fez o check-up para saber se estava inteiro, porque tem um monte de compromissos importantes daqui pra frente. No dia 11 de novembro, estará na inauguração da unidade esportiva Território Santos Modelo, na cidade de Torreón, Coahuila, no México. Depois, viajará à Alemanha, onde participará do Teletón, através de sua Fundação Ricky Martin, que arrecada fundos para ajudar a criar o primeiro Centro Educativo, Social e para o Desenvolvimento e Bem- estar das crianças no povoado de Loíza, em sua terra natal, Porto Rico, que acontecerá de 19 a 20 de novembro, durante 24 horas ininterruptas.

De volta a Porto Rico, o cantor irá supervisionar os compromissos de sua fundação e disse que planejará onde serão suas férias natalinas.

Como faz todos os anos, celebrará seu aniversário em Porto Rico, para então viajar no final de 2009 ao Brasil, onde pretende receber, junto a seus filhos, familiares e alguns amigos, a chegada de 2010.

Remember 1999? When all the gals were wearing little flowery bobby pins, and Latin pop was beginning to explode — explode! — all over the airwaves?

And do you remember when Ricky Martin showed up on “Saturday Night Live” to perform “Livin’ La Vida Loca”? OH MY GOODNESS, I DO. (The interwebs [or NBC] do not want us to recall, however; I cannot find a clip to insert here.)

This would be one of the things that I found magical, taped on my VCR, and made my friends watch repeatedly.* If you do not recall, it was an AWESOME performance, this dude I had never heard of throwing himself joyfully and energetically into the singing and the dancing. Oh, the dancing! Methinks Ricky has joints that no one else has, the way he shook his junk.

I looooooved “La Vida Loca.” To the point of, I shudder now to admit, even buying the record. It is also possible that, when RM performed at the stadium a few blocks from my job, I dragged a colleague down to its loading docks to see if we could spy Ricky himself (we couldn’t). Also, at some point during those heady months of Ricky Fever, my co-workers took the Ricky Martin cover of Time and superimposed my head over his in a truly frightening use of Photoshop. This all suggests to me that my obsession must have been both intense and vocal. OH HOW EMBARRASSING.

Sigh. I just can’t help it. I am a sucker for the song, the dance, the enthusiasm. I was THRILLED when my radio served up “Livin’ La Vida Loca” today. And it is VERY POSSIBLE that I will go home and dowload that song from iTunes tonight.

*MK: Were you visiting me the Saturday of this SNL performance, or did I just make you watch the tape another time? For some reason I am thinking the performance was the weekend of one of  your visits.
