Geçtiğimiz hafta traş olurken bir kaza geçirdim. Baş parmağımın ucundan aldım biraz. Önce friendfeed’e yazıp sonra hastaneye geçtim. Tam olarak hikaye içeri girişte başladı..

Acile gelmeme rağmen elimi önceden sardığım için aciliyet ile karşılanmadım. Sıraya girdim. Ardından bir hemşirenin daveti ile acile geçtim.

Sargım açıldı etraf hafiften kan olmaya başladı. Hemşire bir sargı bezi alıp bunu elinde tut ben doktoru çağırıyorum dedi. Yaklaşık 5 dakika bekledikten sonra doktor iki asistanı ile geldi.

Sargıyı açıp:

- Nasıl yaptın? dedi

-Jiletle yaptım.. diye cevap verdim.

-Damara gelmiş. (Asistanlar tam burada “Aaaaa nasıl olmuş?” diye tepki verdi) Ardından doktor ilk hemşireye seslendi. “Rıdvan’ı çağır diksin..”

Haydaaa! İçimden kim bu Rıdvan demeye başladım. Rıdvan Dilmen aklıma geldi. Rıdvan ne olur? Dikiş olur

Rıdvan 10 dakika sonra geldi. Kot pantolon ve önlüksüz olması kafamda diploması var mı sorusunu doğurdu. Kesilme hikayesini ona da anlattım.

Sonra sedyeye uzandım. Kan görmekten hafif gözleri kararınca doktor konuşmamı istedi. Araya hemşire girdi. İlk girişte iyi niyetli olsada..

- Dur dur. Sana fıkra anlatayım. Temel’in birgün parmağı kopmuş..

Haydaaaaaa! Kafam düştü. Doktor dikişten vazgeçip pamuğa alkol sürüp koklatmaya başladı.

Sonrası malum.. Dikiş bitti, sardılar eve yolladılar..

What makes the Festival of Ridvan, celebrated April 21 to May 2, the holiest of days for Baha’is? It commemorates the anniversary of Baha’u’llah’s declaration in 1863 that He was the Promised One of all earlier religions.

Up to this point, Baha’u’llah, who was born into a noble Persian family in 1817, had dedicated His life to improving the world and helping others. He became one of the foremost followers of the Bab, for which He was imprisoned, tortured and banished from His native land.

After spending 10 years in exile in Baghdad, Baha’u’llah was ordered to Constantinople (present-day Istanbul) for another period of exile. Before leaving Baghdad, He spent 12 days in a garden on the banks of the Tigris River. The garden later was named Ridvan, meaning “Paradise” or “good pleasure” in Arabic.

As His followers gathered around Him, Baha’u’llah announced that He was the Promised One of all earlier religions — “Him Whom God shall make manifest.” His declaration marks the beginning of the Baha’i Faith.

Baha’is suspend work on the holiest days of Ridvan – the first (April 21), ninth (April 29) and twelfth (May 2). These mark the day of Baha’u'llah’s arrival in the garden, the arrival of His family and the group’s departure for Constantinople.

Throughout Ridvan, Baha’is gather for devotions and attend social gatherings. It is also during this time that elections take place for Baha’i governing bodies.

Lembit Opik MP hosted the annual All Party Group for the Baha’i’s reception on the terrace of the House of Commons this evening, timed to coincide with the Baha’i festival of Ridvan. If the celebrations were somewhat subdued for many people present, it was because seven leading Baha’i figures who were arrested in Iran last year are still in prison. The faith, which is monotheistic and teaches that all religions come from God, was founded in the 19th Century in Iran, though its most famous contemporary religious centre is in Haifa, Israel. It has suffered systematic persecution in Iran since shortly after the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

Bill Rammell, Minister of State at the Foreign Office, gave a speech of welcome and there were written greetings from a curious trinity: the Archbishop of Canterbury, David Cameron and Nick Clegg. In his capacity as Chairman of the All Party Group, Lembit quipped that he was too wicked to become a Baha’i himself. Wicked? Surely not, Lembit. Just naughty.

The Bahá’í community of Pasadena will get together on Saturday, May 2nd to celebrate the annual Festival of Ridván. The event is open to the general public at the Western Justice Center, 55 S. Grand Ave.

The word “Ridván” means “Paradise.” For twelve days from April 21 to May 2, 1863, Bahá’u’lláh, the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá’í Faith, resided in a garden of Baghdad that he dubbed “the Garden of Ridván”. There Bahá’u’lláh publicly proclaimed his mission as God’s messenger for this age. At the time of his proclamation, Bahá’u’lláh was an exile in Baghdad, banished from his native Persia because of his teachings.

The Festival of Ridván is celebrated by Bahá’ís throughout the world with great joy and fellowship. Bahá’u’lláh wrote of the garden, “This is the Paradise, the rustling of whose leaves proclaims: ‘O ye that inhabit the heavens and the earth! There hath appeared what hath never previously appeared. He Who, from everlasting, had concealed His face from the sight of creation is now come’.”

The Bahá’í Faith teaches the oneness of God, the oneness of religion, and the oneness of mankind. Bahá’ís believe that in every age, God sends a divine educator, a manifestation of God, whose purpose is to restate and renew the eternal truths of religion and to address the specific needs of the age in which he appears. Thus, the occurrence of the Festival of Ridván at the height of the spring season bears a special significance for Bahá’ís.

In his writings, Bahá’u’lláh promulgates the equality of men and women, the essential harmony of science and religion, the independent investigation of truth, economic justice based upon spiritual principles, the urgent need for the elimination of all forms of prejudice, universal compulsory education, and international auxiliary language, and a world government for the maintenance of a lasting peace.

Bahá’u’lláh’s exile to Baghdad was the first of several banishments that occurred until his death in 1892. Dismayed by their inability to curb Bahá’u’lláh’s continuing influence and growing Faith, Persian religious and government leaders convinced the officials of the Ottoman Empire to banish Bahá’u’lláh to Adrianople, Constantinople, and finally, to the horrendous prison city of Akka in the Holy Land. Bahá’u’lláh suffered forty years of torture, imprisonment and exile.

The World Center of the Bahá’í Faith is on Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel.

Mit diesen und weiteren Worten beschreibt Bahá’u'lláh die Bedeutung der Ridván-Zeit, die vom 21. April bis zum 2. Mai dauert.

Das Ridván-Fest wurde von Bahá’u'lláh selbst als Fest der Freude gestiftet und von Ihm in Seinem Heiligsten Buch, dem Kitáb-i-Aqdas, zusammen mit der Erklärung des Báb, als die “Größten Feste” bezeichnet. Der erste, neunte und zwölfte Ridván-Tag (21. und 29. April sowie 2. Mai) sind arbeitsfreie Tage.

An diesen Tagen gedenken die Bahá’i der Ereignisse im April 1863 in Baghdad, kurz bevor Bahá’u'lláh, Seine Familie und einige Begleiter den königlichen Befehl nach Istanbul zu reisen, verwirklichen sollten. Um den großen Andrang der Besucher, die vor Seiner Abreise bei Ihm um Audienz baten, bewältigen zu können, setzte Bahá’u'lláh auf eine kleine Insel im Euphrat über, auf dem ein Rosengarten angelegt war. Dieser Garten wurde Ridván-Garten genannt, was übersetzt Paradies heißt.

Am selben Tag, dem 22. April 1863, erklärte Bahá’u'lláh offen den dort versammelten Begleitern, dass Er der Verheißene aller Menschen sei, Der, auf den die heiligen Schriften aller Religionen hinweisen, Jener, Der vom Báb als “Der, den Gott offenbaren wird” angekündet wurde, “der Vater”, der nach Jesus Christus, “dem Sohn”, kommen soll, mit dessen kommen die Zeit der Reife, des Friedens und der Einheit der Menschheit gekommen sei. Die Zeit der Erneuerung der Menschheit, der Aufhebung aller veralteter Glaubensvorstellungen und Dogmen, verkommener Moralvorstellungen und Machtansprüche ist angebrochen.

“Sprich: Das Größte Fest ist fürwahr der König aller Feste. Ruft euch, o Volk, die Gabenfülle in Erinnerung, die Gott euch verliehen hat. Ihr waret in Schlaf versunken, und siehe, Er erwckte euch mit den lebensspendenden Lüften Seiner Offenbarung und gab euch Kenntnisse von Seinem klaren, nicht in die Irre führenden Pfad. ” Bahá’u'lláh

Am neunten Tag der Ridván-Zeit folgte Seine Famile Bahá’u'lláh auf die Insel und am 12. Tag erfolgte die Abreise nach Istanbul.

Die Baha’i in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern feiern am 1.Mai gemeinsam in Guest bei Greifswald die Ridvan-Zeit. Jeder ist herzlich eingeladen.
