T$F linked to unwind from 2009 over last weekend. Took a couple field trips around L.A.  Always too much too do and too little time.

Caught some good flicks, tons of graf everywhere.  Some super sick burners in the ally behind Safety Cycle..  Ewok/Pose/Rime stunners over there— no pics of it here.

Checked out that new Gallery 66 place, pretty cool- saw that Creature Feature work and purchased a jar of Witches Brew.  There’s a dope Rob One mural on the wall outside, so huge I couldn’t get a photo of the whole thing.

Some MTN sale/signing was going down on Sunday- but no time to come back that spot.

Graffiti is cool, saw alot of this weekend.  Burnt out on that tip, time to focus on other ventures.
Got some cold drinks at the bodega next to 33 1/3, they had some super strange “wanted-style” posters taped in the front.  I love reading this crap.

Has Science found the cause of ME?

Breakthrough offers hope to millions of sufferers around the world

SCIENTISTS SAY they may have made a breakthrough in understanding the cause of chronic fatigue syndrome – a debilitating condition affecting 250,000 people in Britain which for decades has defied a rational medical explanation.

Hello blogger and internet searchers. This is my second post and today I think i will cover the second logical topic to cover after explaining common phrases and that is, races! Yes it is time I finally tell you who and what these different players in this RPG are. Now, there are quite a few of them so I will only cover three and some origin races if I have the time. I do tend to like to ramble on a lot so this may be a long post so bare with me. Now then, lets begin with the…

Humans

The humans are the oldest race in the universe. They are the only origin race to not divide into multiple sub-races. They are the most accomplished, arguably the most evolved, and are the most varied race in the known abyss. They have been known to be the most cruel and the most compassionate, the most violent of warriors and the most peaceful of diplomats. They are the only origin race to die quickly, there lifespans being about 50-80 years.

Dwarves

Dwarves were not exatly enslaved by the human empire more like they were born into it because there ancestors and origin race, the stonekind, were enslaved by rimefire. They are a sub-race of the stonekind and inherited their wisdom and ability to create amazing weapons and armor. They are all ruled over by one King and keep, for the most part, in the mountains of the north and the west. They not only stay in these mountains for the tactical advantage they provide (should they be attacked) but also because they spend much of there early and late life underground digging and searching, hoping to find artifacts or books that will tell them more about the stonekind. They have long lifespans and can live as long as a thousand years (this was found out in an experiment done by RimeFire) but the average lifespan is shorter only around 500-750 years.

Elves

The elves were the second race to be enslaved by Rimefire. They are decendents of an ancient race whos name has been lost to the ages. Slender and tall by comparison to humans. They were enslaved mostly not to work but to as a show of force to others of their home plane. They are the most advance civilization technologicly, save for the ramaining rimefire cities, there cities are small but are more about expansion upward. They are most often seen in the forest as it reminds them of the place they long ago called home. There home plane of existance can be seen in the skies at night and many believe this is why they build their cities upward and keep there oldest at the top. The elves average lifetime is about half that of a dwarf, they can live up to 550-600 years but the average lifespan is around 200-350 years.

J’ai fait un somme sur mes lauriers, et alors? Le jeu ne me dit plus rien, et je suis sur le point de raccrocher les gants. Même si je vais surement faire comme ces gens en bonne santé qui expliquent qu’ils préfèreraient être débranchés plutôt que de devenir un légume, et m’allonger sur mes grands discours pour mieux me raccrocher à chaque souffle de vie jusqu’à l’inspiration finale. Par manque de courage ou de lucidité. Ou des deux.

Le temps a le don d’émousser le flow le plus aiguisé, et lorsqu’une rime suffisait à découper un beat, il faut maintenant un couplet. Mais le temps n’est pas l’unique explication. Il ne justifie pas à lui seul le manque d’inspiration, les idées qui ne viennent plus, les thèmes déjà traités, le style poussif. Est ce le quotidien qui change? Il paraît que sur le plus haut trône du monde on est jamais assis que sur son boule. Un trône qui ressemble d’avantage à un siège éjectable qu’à un fauteuil enviable à mieux y regarder, et à mieux écouter la meute affamée dont la respiration se fait toujours plus proche. Parce que le challenger n’a qu’un but: réussir. Tout est mis en oeuvre pour servir son but, la concentration est optimale et l’envie plus forte que tout. Rien à perdre, tout à gagner.

Tandis que sur le toit du monde, il n’y a rien à gagner, et tout à perdre. Le confort étourdit et aliène, l’instinct se dilue dans l’immobilité. J’ai mis toute mon énergie à atteindre mon objectif, je ne jouerai pas tout sur un coup de poker où personne ne se serre les coudes lorsque la chance tourne. Et c’est bien là le problème. Je me contente d’être moyen, de me reposer sur mes acquis et de fournir les efforts minimum comme dirait les mauvais chroniqueurs. Les 5 étoiles des débuts qui soulignaient ma fougue et ma fraîcheur laissent la place aux 3 étoiles systématiques. Et être égal à soi même en fournissant un album convenable est la pire chose qu’il puisse arriver à un artiste. Etre médiocre ou génial. Réussir ou mourir, parce que le juste milieu n’est pas acceptable. Et ils le sentent bien ces vautours, qui s’amusent de moi dans leurs BD, à regretter l’époque où mon nom faisait trembler les ondes. Parce que maintenant, je suis juste un rappeur établi. Une tête d’affiche, un poid lourd. Le meilleur pour les plus indulgents, le spectre vieillissant d’un MC respecté pour les autres.

J’envie ceux qui ont su faire le bon choix. Parce que le courage me manque. Partir pour être regretté, claquer la porte avant la fausse note, terminer sur une victoire et rester à jamais l’homme d’un classique. Ne pas décevoir, ne pas user les concepts jusqu’à la moelle, ne pas laisser l’envie de prouver se cacher dans l’ombre de la complaisance. Ne pas donner le meilleur de moi même sans que cela ait de conséquences sur mon statut est la pire des malédictions. Habituer le public à ma lassitude parce qu’il est trop tard pour le virage radical, impardonnable, creuse ma tombe un peu plus chaque jour. La petite mort est plus facile à accepter.

Saleté de syndrome du premier album, dont je parlais avec ce journaliste dont j’ai oublié le nom mais pas l’admiration qu’il vouait à ce rappeur bestialement nonchalant. La chance de ne pas être attendu, la liberté de peaufiner chaque détail, le désir insatiable de bouffer les autres et de recracher leurs os. Ces autres qui passent du stade de concurrents à celui de has-been, eux aussi usés par ce jeu sans fin. Je n’ose même pas imaginer ce qu’il se dit sur nos échanges… Et lorsque la relève pousse de plus en plus violemment pour à son tour devenir l’homme à abattre, chaque conseil résonne à ses oreilles comme une leçon de morale. S’il savait que je ne cherche rien de plus qu’à retrouver la passion à travers lui, comprendrait-il mon attitude et cesserait-il de croire que je veux le freiner dans son ascension?

Mais en fin de compte, il y a peut être une solution. Ne plus réfléchir, ne plus chercher à séduire. Etre soi même, assumer ses faiblesses et ses doutes, les dévoiler au grand jour pour ne pas qu’ils nous rongent la nuit. Faire un album pour prendre ma retraite. Et s’il marche, je reviendrai. Parce qu’on revient toujours.
