Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) media format basically stores data with the finest visual and audio qualities. Astonishingly, in 1927…forty years later, a much older Kelly voluntarily returns to the insane asylum and began to chronicle his travels. A typed copy of Kelly’s confession letter survives in the National Archives, and Norris is the first detective to read it. In the letter, Kelly describes having “problems dealing with society“, and being “overtaken with feelings of envy, jealousy, and malice“. Kelly states, “the thing has been hard because of all kinds of ’skank’” (a term he uses to refers to women of low moral character) and “I’ve been on the warpath since I left Broadmoor Asylum.” Also in his letter, he admits to traveling to London after his escape, and more interestingly he tells of traveling to the United States and arriving in New York conveniently before the Carrie Brown murder. He was by profession, a trained upholsterer, and would have known quiet a bit about knives and how to use them effectively for the purpose of murder. Kelly also mentioned traveling to many cities in the US before returning to England and admitted that he came to the US many times over a period of 40 years.

The left composite, was drawn based on 118 year old eye-witness accounts of Jack the Ripper in London. They examined different witness statements and used modern day forensics to come up with a portrait of the killer, even indicating what type of hat he wore.

The drawing on the right, is the result of Mancusi shaving 40 years off of James Kelly’s photo at age 67. As you can see, once they added the type of hat mentioned by eye witnesses, the drawings are a very close match.

In the end, there is no doubt in Norris’ mind that he has found Jack the Ripper. We may never know. John Kelly died of natural causes in 1929 inside Broadmoor Asylum and took his secrets to his grave. In my opinion, Jack the Ripper in America was very well done and is a must-see for all forensic buffs and amateur Ripperologists. I’m interested in seeing further research, analysis and discussion of Norris’ theory. Regarding any factual errors in this post, I apologize in advance, and encourage everyone to let me know what needs to be corrected.

Time After Time

On a lighter note, anybody remember the movie “Time After Time” starring Malcolm McDowell, John Warner and Mary Steenburgen? McDowell played H.G. Wells, who uses his time machine to chase his friend, Warner (aka Jack the Ripper) through the streets of modern day (1979) San Francisco. After watching Norris’ documentary, maybe Hollywood’s silly (but entertaining) version of the Ripper story had a sliver of truth to it after all.

Luffy dan Coby tiba di Shelltown yang merupakan salah satu markas cabang Angkatan Laut. Ketika mampir untuk makan di sebuah café, mereka berdua membicarakan tentang  Zoro dan Kapten Morgan yang membuat orang-orang yang ada di tempat itu terkejut hingga jatuh atau berpose aneh lainnya ketika nama mereka berdua disebutkan. Yang membuat Coby heran, kenapa orang-orang juga terkejut saat mendengar nama Kapten Morgan.

Kedua orang ini akhirnya pergi ke markas Angkatan Laut dimana mereka melihat Zoro yang sedang terikat di sebuah balok kayu. Zoro mencoba meminta mereka melepaskannya, Luffy mau, tapi Coby menghalanginya. Sebelum mereka mengambil keputusan, seorang anak kecil (yang kemudian diketahui bernama Rika) menaiki dinding dengan tangga lalu menghampiri Zoro. Dia menawarkan nasi kepal pada Zoro. Zoro menolaknya lalu menyuruhnya pergi, tapi sebelum sempat pergi, Helmeppo, anak Kapten Morgan datang. Helmeppo menyahut nasi kepal buatan Rika dan memakannya, tetapi kemudian memuntahkannya karena ternyata rasanya manis (seharusnya asin kan..). Helmeppo kemudian menginjak-injaknya di tanah didepan mata Rika kemudian memerintah anak buah ayahnya untuk melemparkan Rika keluar dinding, untungnya, dia ditangkap oleh Luffy.

Helmeppo kemudian memastikan perjanjiannya dengan Zoro bahwa kalau Zoro bisa bertahan di balok kayu itu selama sebulan tanpa makana, maka dia akan membebaskan Zoro. Setelah Helmeppo dan penjaganya pergi, Luffy mendekati Zoro dan mengajaknya bergabung menjadi kru Bajak Laut Luffy. Zoro menolaknya, tapi sebelum Luffy pergi, dia minta tolong untuk mengambilkan nasi kepal yang tadi diinjak oleh Helmeppo untuk dimakannya. Setelah memakannya, Zoro menitipkan pesan pada Luffy untuk Rika bahwa nasi kepalnya enak. Luffy dan Coby kemudian kembali ke kota untuk menyampaikan pesan Zoro itu.

Rika merasa senang ketika mendengar bahwa Zoro menyukai nasi kepalnya, kemudian bercerita bahwa sebenarnya Zoro ditangkap karena membunuh anjing serigala peliharaan Helmeppo yang mengganggu penduduk. Rika juga bercerita bahwa sebenarnya Kapten Morganlah orang yang jahat. Pada saat itu, Helmeppo tiba-tiba saja muncul dan mengatakan bahwa dia akan membuat Zoro dihukum mati 3 hari lagi. Dan ketika Luffy menanyakan pada Helmeppo tentang janjinya pada Zoro, Helmeppo mengakui bahwa dia hanya berbohong. Luffy yang jengkel dengan kelakuan Helmeppo itu kemudian memukul wajah Helmeppo keras-keras.

Warga mulai panic ketika mendengar Helmeppo mengancam akan mengatakan pada ayahnya tentang apa yang terjadi. Luffy tidak menanggapi ancaman itu dan segera kembali ke markas Angkatan Laut. Di dalam markas, Helmeppo mengadu pada ayahnya. Sementara itu di luar, Luffy membuat perjanjian dengan Zoro bahwa kalau pedangnya diambilkan, Zoro harus mau jadi kru Bajak Lautnya. Luffy kemudian beranjak masuk ke dalam markas untuk mencari pedang Zoro, sementara Zoro menganggap Luffy adalah Bajak Laut yang bodoh.

Di puncak markas, para anak buah Kapten Morgan sedang mendirikan patung Kapten Morgan yang baru saja selesai dibuat. Dia menampar anaknya lalu memarahinya karena hanya bisa merengek. Lalu dia menunjukkan sisi buruknya dengan membunuh anak buahnya yang tidak mau menuruti perintahnya untuk mencari dan membunuh Rika. Ketika mencari pedang Zoro dan tidak menemukannya, Luffy kemudian mencari orang untuk ditanyai. Ketika melihat di atas markas ada orang, dia kemudian menggunakan Gomu Gomu Roket untuk ke atas. Karena kebablasan, dia kemudian mengkaitkan tangannya ke patung baru Kapten Morgan. Hasilnya, patung itu patah separuh bagian. Morgan kemudian memerintahkan anak buahnya untuk membunuh Luffy, yang tidak menganggap mereka, malah menarik Helmeppo masuk ke dalam untuk memberitahunya dimana letak pedang Zoro. Di lapangan, Coby berusaha melepaskan tali pengikat Zoro, tapi sebelum berhasil dia tertembak.

Di dalam markas, Luffy menggunakan Helmeppo sebagai tameng ketika menghadapi anak buah Morgan. Sementara di luar, ternyata Coby hanya tertembak lengannya saja. Zoro kemudian menyuruhnya lari, Coby mengetahui bahwa keinginan Morgan sebenarnya adalah untuk membunuhnya. Luffy kemudian menemukan pedang Zoro kemudian melihat bahwa teman-temannya akan dibunuh. Ketika pasukan penembak sudah siap, Zoro teringat ketika dia masih kecil dan berteman dengan seorang anak perempuan bernama Kuina yang tak bisa dikalahkannya dalam pertarungan pedang padahal Zoro adalah yang terkuat di kelasnya, bahkan pernah mengalahkan orang dewasa.

Suatu malam, dia menantang Kuina untuk berduel menggunakan pedang sungguhan, yang berakhir dengan kekelahan Zoro yang ke 2001. Kuina akhirnya mengungkapkan bahwa dia seperti halnya wanita lain, semakin bertambahnya usia, dia akan semakin lemah dan tidak akan bisa menjadi pendekar pedang terhebat. Zoro meyakinkan Kuina bahwa hal itu tidak akan terjadi dan membuat perjanjian dengan Kuina bahwa salah satu dari mereka bedua nantinya akan menjadi pendekar pedang terhebat di dunia. Sayangnya, Kuina meninggal keesokan harinya  karena jatuh dari tangga, hal ini membuat Zoro meyakinkan diri bahwa dialah yang harus menjadi pendekar pedang terhebat di dunia juga untuk mewakili Kuina mewujudkan mimpi mereka. Zoro kemudian meminta kepada ayah Kuina yang juga adalah guru pedang Zoro untuk menyerahkan pedang Kuina yang bernama Wadou Ichimonji sebagai bagian dari Kuina yang akan dibawanya menjadi pendekar pedang terhebat di dunia.

Cerita kembali ke Shelltown ketika Morgan memerintahkan anak buahnya untuk segera menembak, tapi Luffy melompat dari jendela ke depan Zoro dan Coby, menerima tembakan dan melontarkannya kembali pada pasukan penembak. Luffy kemudian mengajak lagi Zoro untuk bergabung dengan kelompok Bajak Lautnya, dalam keadaan kacau, zoro menerima ajakan Luffy.

Luffy lalu membuka ikatan Zoro dibawah tekanan anak buah Morgan yang sudah menghunus pedangnya. Tetapi ikatan Zoro sudah lepas, lalu menahan serangan semua anak buah Morgan dengan kemampuannya menggunakan tiga pedang (Santouryu). Zoro kemudian mengatakan sumpah setianya pada Luffy sekaligus mengancam apabila Luffy membuat mimpinya tak bisa dicapai, Luffy harus bunuh diri. Luffy menerima keputusan Zoro itu kemudian menghajar anak buah Morgan dengan Gomu Gomu Whip (cambuk karet). Morgan kemudian turun sendiri untuk menangani Luffy, tetapi pertarungan ini terlihat berat sebelah karena hanya Morganlah yang beberapa kali menerima serangan Luffy, sementara dengan kelincahannya, luffy sama sekali tidak terkena serangan Morgan.

Helmeppo kemudian menghentikan pertarungan dengan menjadikan Coby sebagai sandera sambil mengacungkan pistol ke kepala Coby. Coby yang diujung maut jstru malah meminta Luffy menghabisi Morgan saja dan tidak usah mempedulikannya. Luffy yang senang melihat perkembangan keberanian Coby lalu memukul Helmeppo, padahal Morgan sudah mengayunkan kapaknya ke Luffy. Tepat ketika Helmeppo terpukul oleh Luffy, saat itu pula Zoro menahan serangan Morgan ke Luffy dan kemudian mengalahkan Morgan. Ketika Morgan kalah, semua anak buah Morgan bersorak senang, ternyata selama ini mereka menurut dengan paksaan.

Luffy, Zoro dan Coby kemudian diperlihatkan berkumpul di rumah Rika. Ketika mereka bertiga membicarakan masa depan, seorang letnan Angkatan Laut bernama Ripper mendatangi mereka bertiga, kemudian mengatakan bahwa sebagai Bajak Laut, mereka tidak boleh berada di Shelltown, hanya saja karena sudah menyelamatkan kota, ripper bejanji tidak akan melaporkan mereka pada Markas Besar. Karena keadaan ini tidak menguntungkan bagi Coby, Luffy kemudian mengungkit-ungkit bahwa Coby pernah menjadi anak buah Bajak Laut. Hal ini membuat Coby marah, padahal dia ingin menjadi Angkatan Laut. Kalau Luffy menceritakan masa lalunya, maka dia tidak akan bisa menjadi Angkatan Laut. Karena itulah sebelum Luffy bercerita lebih banyak, Coby memukul Luffy keras-keras. Mereka kemudian berkelahi sampai dipisahkan oleh Letnan Ripper yang langsung menyuruh Luffy segera pergi. Coby kemudian menyadari bahwa tindakan Luffy tadi dilakukan agar Coby tidak dianggap sebagai teman Luffy yang sudah memperkenalkan diri sebagai Bajak Laut. Coby kemudian mengajukan permohonan pada Letnan Ripper agar diterima menjadi Angkatan Laut. Dan dia diterima.

Ketika Luffy dan Zoro pergi meninggalkan kota, Coby menyusulnya kemudian memberikan penghormatan versi Angkatan Laut pada mereka berdua sambil mengucapkan terima kasih. Tanpa disadari Coby, Letnan Ripper membawa semua anggota Angkatan Laut dan ikut memberi hormat pada Luffy dan Zoro sebagai tanda terima kasih mereka. Luffy kemudian mengatakan bahwa dia dan Zoro akan bertemu dengannya lagi suatu saat.

Letnan Ripper adalah salah satu anak buah Morgan di Shelltown. Setelah kekalahan Morgan, dialah yang menggantikan posisi Morgan sebagai pemimpin Markas Cabang. Dia yang memlepaskan Luffy dan Zoro tanpa dilaporkan ke Markas Besar Angkatan laut karena dianggap sudah berjasa bagi Shelltown, meskipun pada akhirnya dia membuat hukuman untuk seluruh anggota Angkatan laut di Shelltown tidak mendapat jatah makan karena melepaskan Bajak Laut. Orang ini jugalah yang menerima Coby sebagai Angkatan Laut dan memaksa Helmeppo untuk menjadi Angkatan laut juga. Untuk seorang Angkatan Laut, dia hampir sama seperti Aokiji dan Smoker, yang terjebak antara “Keadilan Absolut” dengan “Keadilan Moral”.

Another day, another creepy murder related in some way to Barack Obama. There is something about this guy that leads to unusual murders wherever his name arises.

The most recent unusual death involves the fatal shooting of a key witness in the passport file fraud investigation.  If you recall, during the campaign it was discovered that Obama, Hillary and McCain’s passport files had been breached.

It was Obama’s that was reported first with the implication that Hillary had something to do with it.  Then, sort of as an afterthought, it was reported that both Hillary’s and McCain’s files were also violated.

There has been some speculation that Hillary’s and McCain’s files were violated as a cover-up for the real focus of the breach, which was Obama’s passport file. Some people wonder what was removed from his file and if it was part of an effort to make sure no one found out about Obama’s shady past.  Like, when did he actually first get a US passport? What is on that passport?  Like maybe his real name? His place of birth?  His parentage? (If you think I exaggerate the importance of the birth certificate and other biological information, it has just been reported that Obama’s lawyer, Robert Bauer, was paid $688,000 this year to make sure no one sees any of it).

Anyway, the story is reported in the Washington Times:

A key witness in a federal probe into passport information stolen from the State Department was fatally shot in front of a District church, the Metropolitan Police Department said yesterday.

Lt. Quarles Harris Jr., 24, who had been cooperating with federal investigators, was found late Thursday night slumped dead inside a car, in front of the Judah House Praise Baptist Church in Northeast, said Cmdr. Michael Anzallo, head of the department’s Criminal Investigations Division.

Cmdr. Anzallo said a police officer was patrolling the neighborhood when gunshots were heard, then Lt. Harris was found dead inside the vehicle, which investigators would describe only as a blue car.
Emergency medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

City police said they do not know whether his death was a direct result of his cooperation with federal investigators.

“We don’t have any information right now that connects his murder to that case,” Cmdr. Anzallo said.

Say what? We don’t know if it was connected?  Hmmm, somehow, nothing ever gets connected where Barry is involved and somehow the murders always go unsolved.

The article continues:

The Washington Times reported April 5 that contractors for the State Department had improperly accessed passport information for presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain, which resulted in a series of firings that reached into the agency’s top ranks.

One agency employee, who was not identified in documents filed in U.S. District Court, was implicated in a credit-card fraud scheme after Lt. Harris told federal authorities he obtained “passport information from a co-conspirator who works for the U.S. Department of State.”

Now, somehow, I fail to be convinced that someone violated the law to get into Obama’s passport file to commit credit card fraud.  This is not a logical thought.

I’m not sure where the Washington Times got the information for that last paragraph, but are they saying that this Lt. Harris’s name was openly mentioned in a court complaint and they had him wandering around without any type of security protection?

How many dead bodies does it take to figure out something strange is happening here?

Let’s see, we have three at Trinity United Church of Christ (murders never solved):

…the murder of Donald Young, a 47-year-old choir master at former Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ—the same congregation that Obama has attended for the past 20 years. Two other young black men that attended the same church—Larry Bland and Nate Spencer—were also murdered execution style with bullets to the backs of their heads—all within 40 days of each other, beginning in November 2007. All three were openly homosexual.

In Arkansas, we have the pre-convention murder of the Dem Party Chairman, who rumor has it, was not going to switch his vote from Hillary to Obama.  Someone was attached to this murder, but he is also dead. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason for the murder; the guy was mentally unstable, but then so are most murderers.

The real question is, who is the President of the United States and will we survive his presidency?  All that I know is that I am really relieved that I have never met this walking death sentence, seen this walking death sentence, nor talked to this walking death sentence.  Otherwise, I would be very worried.

This is a small little shop but it’s on a pretty busy thoroughfare. Owner Joe Fabrocini is originally from New Jersey so he knows what he’s doing when it comes to hot dogs.They’re known most for their “Ripper” dog, so named because it splits open from being deep-fried for 8 minutes. Joe claims that they are the only ones on the west coast doing them, not sure how accurate that is but I’ll take his word for it. They use an all-beef natural casing dog of course and that’s always a good sign. Update: Joe contacted me and told me that they use a beef/pork dog made especially for deep-frying with their “Ripper” dogs, my mistake.

I asked the lady what I should get and she said that one of her favorites was the Bald Eagle which is a Ripper with their signature relish which contains a little sweet and a little spicy (it’s composed of Düsseldorf mustard, sweet relish, shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, diced onions, garlic, Mexican oregano, chili powder, cider vinager, & celery seeds) . I loved it, the deep-fried dog had a nice bite to it, and the bun was fresh and soft. The Bald Eagle relish was tangy and spicy but neither aspect overpowering the other. I added ketchup, which I know can be a sin, and a little chopped onions which upped it even a little more for me.

They have many many more varieties of dogs to choose from (Coney Island – loaded with chili, cheddar cheese, diced onions & mustard or Mexicali Dog – grilled dog topped with chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, guacamole, sour cream & grilled onions to name a couple) and I’d probably need a good week or two to sample them all. They also offer them served wrapped up in a tortilla, those looked extremely delicious.

There is not much seating and it gets packed quickly. They do put a few tables out front on the sidewalk during lunch but I would opt to get yours to go. The staff is super friendly and it’s fun to watch them make your dogs if you can squeeze in there. These pups are definitely worth a try and I recommend making it a stop on your list when in LA.

It’s two years since my last trip to London and this time my agenda was to primarily just hang out and meet up with old and new friends. I had timed this trip to coincide with friend Chris (who lives an hour or so away from me in southern California and) who would also be in London for part of her trip in the UK.

Fortunately, just four days after booking my flight I suddenly had a new purpose for my trip…the announcement that my favorite actor John Simm would be on stage in a new play in the West End! That’s great! I was so very fortunate to see him two years before in Elling and after his beautiful performance I vowed never to miss any opportunity to see him on stage…and the next time would also be more than once!

But first, no trip to London is complete without meeting up with Denzylle who I’ve known for about ten years now. On Monday, Denzylle and I had the opportunity to join Chris and her friend Tony for their day planned full of splendid activities, which included:

By then it was about time for the four of us to see John Simm in “Speaking in Tongues” at the Duke of York’s Theatre.

I really enjoyed this play during its preview run. The split screen scenes with the synchronized scripts are incredibly interwoven and the timing is unbelievable work. John’s 2nd role is my fav of his two. Story is mainly on relationships, communication and trust, with great suspense scenes, a missing woman and some funny lines to ease things a bit here and there.

One of my passions is that I am a lifelong horse-lover and learned to ride as an adult. In addition to my day job, I spent 10 years of concentrated schooling at a few equestrian centers on hunters-jumpers, attended a handful of clinics given by professionals and inevitably, in order to offset my lesson and clinic expenses, worked part-time for a number of years at my last trainer’s barn. Unfortunately even supplementing my riding lessons wasn’t enough…it’s all very expensive and I had to give up riding for about the last 10 years now.

BUT there’s nothing like a vacation to pull out all the stops and do the things we love to do the most! So, I arranged for a 1-hour private guided hack/lesson at Wimbledon Village Stables. And that’s when I also experienced my first London Tube “Service has been Suspended” announcement while I was at the station ready to leave!!! Arrghhh! Service suspended at Putney Bridge?! Take a bus from there? LOL well by the time I tried to make other arrangements on the fly, I simply took the Tube as far as I could… and it seemed service was resumed because I made it all the way to Wimbledon and had a great ride out in the parklands.

But hang on!! What’s with all the sight-seeing? I thought I was supposed to be meeting up with Old and New friends!!! I was thrilled to be able to join up again with Chris and Tony to meet briefly with writer, producer and director, Sacha Bennett for a quick coffee. Due to work commitment last Oct 2008, I had missed attending the London premiere of Sacha’s first feature film,  Tu£sday. Now, having seen both gorgeous films (also his award-winning short “Devilwood“), I cannot wait for more of his work! Sacha has a number of potential projects lined up…so hopefully the wait won’t be a long one!

Friday I travelled to Houghton Regis to meet up with friend, David. The last time we met was all of 10 minutes at Piccadilly Circus! I blame the London Tube strike back then for my being late!

Well this time we certainly made a day of it! A Thousand Heartfelt Thanks to David’s lovely wife Kerrie for a perfect start in the morning by letting me ride her beautiful horse, Gemma, for a quick hack in the arena and then out in the surrounding lands.

Kerrie then let me borrow [or is that good riddance? ] her husband for the rest of the day. David and I took a drive over to Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk for a brewery tour at the Greene King Visitor Centre.

On the way I noticed a bizarre traffic speed control device…which entails installing a physical barrier steadfastly in the one direction lane of traffic, thereby forcing cars to slow down or ultimately stop in order to move out into the opposite lane of oncoming traffic in order to get around the barrier. The hell?!?

I love going to the racetrack to bet on the ponies but I had never been to a greyhound track!! I was really looking forward to this experience and indeed it was!

My fav bet in horse racing is an “Exacta Box” so I went with the same type of bet, “Reverse Forecast” for the dogs. I only need to pick the two dogs that I think will come in first and second or vice versa. This is actually 2 bets in one so my £1 wager cost £2 per race…steep I know! lol So, I was thrilled when one of my bets paid off!! I can’t remember how much I won exactly…about £15, I think? David won on one of his bets as well.

It’s still hard to pick winners even with only 6 dogs in every race. Horse racing has at least 2 times the number, you’d think dogs would be easier to get lucky!

It’s hard to leave after such a wonderful week meeting wonderful friends, traveling the Tube, Bus, DLR, National Rail, seeing London again and the beautiful surrounding areas of England. But the only thing that saw me through my sadness in leaving was that my vacation holiday was only half over! Hey! Now that’s not too shabby! Early the next morning I was on my way to Heathrow Airport and Berlin, Germany!!

คมชัดลึก : นับตั้งแต่ยุค “แจ็ค เดอะ ริปเปอร์” ฆาตกรต่อเนื่องอันโด่งดังในยุคศตวรรษที่ 19 เงียบหายไป ความสงบสุขก็กลับมาสู่มหานครลอนดอน

ผู้คนในเมืองลีดส์-ยอร์กเชียร์ของอังกฤษก็ต้องเผชิญกับจุดเริ่มต้นแห่งความหวาดกลัวอีกคำรบ เมื่อโสเภณีคนหนึ่งถูกคนร้ายใช้ค้อนหัวกลมทุบศีรษะหลายครั้งจนกะโหลกแตก แถมยังแทงซ้ำด้วยไขควงตามลำตัวมากถึง 14 แผล เหตุเกิดเมื่อวันที่ 30 ตุลาคม 2518

คล้อยหลังจากเหยื่อรายแรกไม่นานนัก โสเภณีอีกคนก็กลายเป็นศพด้วยบาดแผลที่คล้ายคลึงกับศพแรก เพียงแต่เหยื่อรายที่สองนี้ถูกแทงทั่วร่างกายมากถึง 50 แผล ด้วยลักษณะของบาดแผลและอาวุธที่ใช้ “ค้อนหัวกลม” จึงกลายเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของอาวุธที่ตำรวจและผู้คนเรียกขานฆาตกรรายนี้ว่า “ยอร์กเชียร์ ริปเปอร์” ซึ่งเป็นอีกหนึ่งคดีฆาตกรรมต่อเนื่องที่โด่งดังในประวัติศาสตร์ของอังกฤษ !?!

1 ปีต่อมา หญิงสาวคนหนึ่งถูกชายไว้เคราดกครึ้มเล่นงาน ด้วยความตกใจเธอส่งเสียงหวีดร้องด้วยความกลัว ส่งผลให้คนร้ายผละหนีไป แต่ไม่ใช่กับผู้หญิงอีกคนในอีก 1 ปีถัดมาที่ถูกทำร้ายด้วยมีดพับและไขควงจนเสียชีวิต

คดีสยองขวัญที่เกิดขึ้นติดๆ กันในเมืองลีดส์ ทำให้ผู้หญิงหากินในย่านนั้น เกิดความหวาดกลัวสุดขีด หลายคนย้ายที่ทำกินออกไปไกลจากพื้นที่เกิดเหตุ แต่ส่วนใหญ่มักไปไม่ไกลจากถิ่นเดิมนัก เช่น เมืองแบรดฟอร์ด ที่ซึ่งยอร์กเชียร์ ริปเปอร์ ตามไปก่อเหตุได้อย่างไม่ยากเย็นนัก โดย 23 เมษายน 2520 โสเภณีคนหนึ่งถูกฆ่าและชำแหละบนเตียงนอนของเธอเอง อีก 2 เดือนถัดมา เกิดขึ้นกับเด็กสาวเคราะห์ร้ายวัย 16 ปี ลูกจ้างร้านแห่งหนึ่งในเมืองลีดส์ รูปแบบการสังหารไม่แตกต่างกันเลยกับเหยื่อที่ผ่านๆ มาของฆาตกรแห่งยอร์กเชียร์

หลังเกิดเหตุฆาตกรรมต่อเนื่อง ตำรวจทั้งลีดส์ แบรดฟอร์ด ฮัดเดอร์ฟิลด์ หรือแม้แต่ในแมนเชสเตอร์ที่อยู่ห่างออกไปเกือบ 40 ไมล์ ตำรวจมากกว่า 30 นายได้รับมอบหมายให้สืบหาตัวฆาตกรรายนี้ แต่การทุ่มเทอย่างหนักของตำรวจกลับไม่เป็นผล นอกจากทำให้ยอร์กเชียร์ ริปเปอร์ ทิ้งช่วงลงมือก่อเหตุร้ายออกไปเพียงชั่วระยะเวลาหนึ่งเท่านั้น

1 ปีเต็มที่ข่าวยอร์กเชียร์ ริปเปอร์ เงียบหายไป พร้อมๆ กับความล้มเหลวของตำรวจ กระทั่งปี 2522 เหยื่อรายแรกต้องพบกับจุดจบ หลังการกลับมาอีกครั้งของเขา และอีกหลายรายที่มีชะตากรรมอันน่าเวทนาเหมือนกัน ครั้งนี้ตำรวจค้นพบว่าเหยื่อฆาตกรรมไม่ใช่เฉพาะหญิงโสเภณีอีกต่อไป แต่เป็นใครก็ได้ที่อยู่ตามลำพังคนเดียวในตอนกลางคืน เช่น เสมียนสาววัย 19 ปี ที่กำลังศึกษาอยู่ในมหาวิทยาลัยแห่งหนึ่ง หรือข้าราชการหญิงวัยกลางคนก็ตกเป็นเป้าหมายของฆาตกรแห่งยอร์กเชียร์

เดือนตุลาคมและพฤศจิกายน 2523 มีเหยื่อซึ่งเป็นผู้หญิง 2 รายรอดพ้นความตายจากเงื้อมมือของวายร้ายผู้นี้มาได้ แต่ไม่ใช่นักศึกษาสาวอีกคนที่จบชีวิตลงในเวลาต่อมาปรากฏว่าเธอเป็นเหยื่อรายสุดท้ายของยอร์กเชียร์ ริปเปอร์

อย่างไรก็ตาม ระหว่างการสืบสวนหาตัวฆาตกรต่อเนื่องรายนี้ “จอร์จ โอลด์ฟิลด์” สารวัตรหัวหน้างานสืบสวน ได้รับมอบหมายให้ติดตามหาตัวยอร์กเชียร์ ริปเปอร์ ได้รับจดหมาย 2 ฉบับ ลงชื่อ “แจ็ค เดอะ ริปเปอร์” และเทปบันทึกเสียงความยาว 2 นาที ใจความว่า…

“ผมชื่อแจ็ค พวกคุณโชคไม่ดีที่ยังจับผมไม่ได้ จอร์จ ผมขอคารวะคุณ แต่ตอนนี้คุณยังไกลเกินกว่าที่จะจับผม ไม่เหมือนเมื่อ 4 ปีก่อนตอนที่เริ่มรับงานนี้ คนของคุณทำให้คุณผิดหวัง ? จอร์จคุณไม่เก่งจริงใช่ไหม ? ครั้งเดียวที่ตำรวจใกล้แตะตัวผมก็เมื่อ 2 เดือนก่อน ที่ชาเพลทาวน์ทำให้ผมลำบากมากทีเดียว โชคดีที่พวกเขาเป็นตำรวจในเครื่องแบบไม่ใช่สายสืบ อยากบอกคุณว่าในเดือนมีนาคม ผมจะเล่นงานเหยื่ออีก ไม่แน่ใจว่าลงมือเมื่อใด แต่แน่นอนว่าต้องเป็นในปีนี้แน่ อาจจะเป็นเดือนกันยายน ตุลาคม หรือเร็วกว่านั้นหากมีโอกาส มีเหยื่อมากมายคอยอยู่แล้ว พวกเธอไม่เคยติดตามข่าว ใช่ไหม จอร์จ ? ผมจะทำต่อไปในสิ่งที่อยากทำ ยังมองไม่เห็นทางว่าจะถูกจับ แต่หากว่าพวกคุณใกล้จับผมได้ ผมจะชิงฆ่าตัวตายก่อน ดีใจที่ได้คุย ปีเตอร์ ซัตคลิฟฟ์”
ครั้งแรกที่ตำรวจและเอฟบีไอได้ฟังเทป พวกเขาลงความเห็นว่า เจ้าของเสียงไม่ใช่ฆาตกร ก่อนจะให้ความเห็นเกี่ยวกับลักษณะบุคคลของฆาตกรยอร์กเชียร์ ริปเปอร์ ว่าไม่ใช่คนที่จะติดต่อกับตำรวจ เป็นคนโดดเดี่ยวจนเกือบจะเป็นมนุษย์ล่องหน อายุ 20 ปลายๆ หรือ 30 ต้นๆ ออกจากโรงเรียนกลางคัน ไม่ได้เรียนสูง สามารถเข้าไปในที่เกิดคดีฆาตกรรมโดยไม่มีใครสนใจ หรือไม่ดึงดูดความสนใจจากใคร เนื่องจากงานประจำทำให้เขาไปที่นั่น เช่น คนขับแท็กซี่ คนขับรถบรรทุก บุรุษไปรษณีย์ หรืออาจเป็นตำรวจก็ได้

เป็นไปได้ว่าเป็นคนที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับผู้หญิงสักคน แต่มีปัญหาทางจิตรุนแรงมากขึ้นตามลำดับ หลังจากเป็นมาหลายปี การฆ่าเป็นเพียงความพยายามที่จะลงโทษผู้หญิง !?!

ท้ายที่สุดแล้ว “ยอร์กเชียร์ ริปเปอร์” ก็ถูกจับได้ด้วยความบังเอิญ เมื่อเขาจอดรับโสเภณีคนหนึ่งขึ้นรถในเมืองเชฟฟิลด์ เมื่อวันที่ 2 มกราคม 1981 ไม่กี่นาทีต่อมาตำรวจสายตรวจเรียกหยุดรถตรวจสอบหมายเลขทะเบียนแล้วพบว่า เป็นรถที่ถูกโจรกรรมมา จึงจับกุมชายเคราดำคนขับชื่อ “ปีเตอร์ ซัตคลิฟฟ์” วัย 35 ปี เมื่อนำตัวไปตรวจค้นตำรวจก็พบ “ค้อนหัวกลมและไขควง” ที่ซัตคลิฟฟ์นำไปทิ้งและมีดสปริงที่ซ่อนไว้ในแท็งก์น้ำ เมื่อตำรวจกลับมาบอกว่าพบอะไรบ้าง เขาสวนกลับมาทันทีว่า

“ผมคิดว่าพวกคุณกำลังตามหายอร์กเชียร์ ริปเปอร์…ผมนี่แหละคือเขา !?!”

ปีเตอร์ ซัตคลิฟฟ์ เป็นคนขับรถบรรทุกบริษัทแห่งหนึ่ง ออกจากโรงเรียนตั้งแต่อายุ 15 ปี แต่งงานเมื่ออายุ 21 ปี ในขณะที่ภรรยามีอายุเพียง 16 ปี ช่วง 7 ปีที่อยู่ด้วยกันก่อนแต่งงานแยกทางกันหลายครั้ง จากการทะเลาะเบาะแว้งอย่างรุนแรง และเขาเริ่มฆ่าเหยื่อรายแรกในช่วง 1 ปีของชีวิตแต่งงาน สาเหตุเกิดจากความเกลียดโสเภณีที่เกิดขึ้นครั้งแรกเมื่อปี 2512 ขณะเขาอายุได้ 22 ปี โสเภณีข้างถนนที่เขารับขึ้นรถไม่ยอมทอนเงินให้ หลังจากส่งธนบัตรใบละ 10 ปอนด์ให้ นั่นทำให้เขาโกรธมาก

ในชั้นศาล ปีเตอร์ ซัตคลิฟฟ์ ให้การรับสารภาพในข้อหาฆ่าคนตายโดยไม่เจตนา สุดท้ายศาลพิพากษาว่าเขาทำผิดในคดีฆาตกรรม 13 กระทง และพยายามฆ่าอีก 7 กระทง ลงโทษจำคุกตลอดชีวิต

จิตวิเคราะห์ : แผลเป็นในอดีตฝังใจ

ดร.วัลลภ ปิยะมโนธรรม นักจิตวิทยาชื่อดัง วิเคราะห์พฤติกรรมของฆาตกรโรคจิตรายนี้ว่า เป็นผู้ที่มีความแค้นฝังใจ เพราะในอดีตเคยถูกกระทำมาก่อน ซึ่งมีอยู่หลายระดับที่แตกต่างกัน บางรายเคยถูกผู้ชายข่มขืนก็จะเกลียดผู้ชายทุกคน แต่ไม่ถึงกับเคียดแค้นทำร้ายเขา แต่จะเก็บสะสมความเกลียดไว้ บางครั้งอาจจะระเบิดออกมาก็ได้ และจะกระทำในสิ่งที่ตัวเองเคยเกลียดชัง

“คดีภาคใต้ฆาตกรไม่ใช่คนเลวร้าย เพียงแต่เขาเคยถูกทำร้ายมาก่อนตั้งแต่ 40-50 ปีก่อน เขาเคยถูกทำร้ายคุกคาม แล้วพวกเขาก็ทำกลับคืน ยกตัวอย่างคดีรัดคอฆ่าหั่นศพ ตอนเด็กๆ ฆาตกรเคยเห็นพ่อถูกฆ่าด้วยวิธีเดียวกันนี้ เลยฝังใจมาตั้งแต่เด็ก แล้วเขาก็กระทำแบบเดียวกัน อีกตัวอย่าง คดีข่มขืนฆาตกรถูกน้าสาวข่มขืนมาก่อน สุดท้ายก็มาข่มขืนหลานสาวตัวเอง เป็นสภาวะจิตหลอนจากการถูกกระทำ แล้วมันมาฝังอยู่ในเส้นประสาทจิตใต้สำนึก เช่นเดียวกันคดีฆ่าโสเภณีต่อเนื่อง ฆาตกรอาจเคยถูกโสเภณีหลอกปล้น หลอกขโมยทรัพย์สินทำให้อับอาย เลยมีความแค้นฝังใจต้องฆ่าโสเภณี” ดร.วัลลภ วิเคราะห์

อย่างไรก็ตาม ดร.วัลลภ มองด้วยสายตาจิตวิเคราะห์ถึงฆาตกรส่วนใหญ่ จากการที่เข้าไปสัมผัสพูดคุยในเรือนจำยิ่งพบว่า ฆาตกรส่วนใหญ่เคยมีประวัติถูกทำร้าย ถูกกระทำไม่ดีมาก่อน และมีความฝังใจในสิ่งที่เคยถูกกระทำ แต่สุดท้ายพวกเขาก็มักจะกระทำในสิ่งที่เคยถูกกระทำมาแล้วต่อผู้อื่น จึงอยากจะบอกว่าฆาตกรไม่ใช่คนเลวโดยกำเนิด แต่ถูกสิ่งแวดล้อมรอบตัวทำให้เขาเป็น และในสังคมไทยก็กำลังมีคนแบบนั้นเยอะพอสมควร

Hannibal starts killing due to a traumatic experience during his teen years. During a war where he lived, he and his sister, Mischa, were captured by fleeing criminals. When the criminals had nothing left to eat, they decided that it was a good idea to eat Mischa, because she was smaller and weaker than Hannibal. They did so, leaving Hannibal traumatized. Later in life, he went on a hunt for the men who ate his sister, finding them, killing them, and filleting their cheeks. After this was over, he just couldn’t stop killing. What started as revenge had become an addiction for him, and he couldn’t stop eating human flesh.

Hannibal is known for his extremely violent physical and emotional torture methods, and he is very big into piquerism and cannibalism, like Albert Fish.
