Its that time of the year again. Last game of the season, rivals, home stadium. Today is going to get crazy! If you can’t make it out to the game then make sure to watch it at 1:30 on ABC. This is mountain time by the way. I got to go because the tailgating has started. It’s going to be a long day… GO DEVILS!

Vilken härlig fredag detta har varit! Först lite jobb – sånt som man måste göra de flesta vardagar… Efter jobbet drog jag in till city, skulle möta upp min älskling för en god middag på en av våra favoritrestauranger – Texas Longhorn. Det är en rad restauranger som har riktigt bra grillat kött med smarriga tillbehör. Denna gång blev det den lilla restaurangen på S:t Paulsgatan nära slussen.

Efter middag blev det en prommis längs Hornsgatan, tyvärr så hade många av de intressanta butikerna redan stängt för kvällen så jag tror det får bli ett litet återbesök ngn annan dag.

Sedan var det då dax för kvällens absoluta höjdpunkt, “Kvarteret Skatan – I nöd och lust” på Rival vid Mariatorget på söder i Stockholm! En humorshow med personer bestående av Johan Glans, Josephine Bornebusch, David Batra, Rachel Mohlin samt Vanna Rosenberg. Det var en riktigt bra show, välarbetad och genomtänkt in i minsta detalj! Den varvades med skönsång, dans och mycket bra humor1 Rekommenderar verkligen ett besök!

I used my new roaster for the first time today on a small prime rib roast. The roast cooked in less than 90 minutes and came out just right with no effort. The roaster is simple to use & clean-up was a breeze. I was really excited to read the enclosed pamphlet, and learn of so many other applications for this roaster! My entire intention was to use it for large meats on occasions when I need my oven for side dishes. I will be steaming veggies, baking potatoes & other goodies, and I can’t wait to use it as a warm-dish buffet on Christmas (after we pull the prime ribe out) when I have a house full of people!

I had no issue with unsafe or injurious steam release, as per the previous review. However, I did not “steam” my roast. I would recommend that when using steam for cooking, in ANY venue, you use general caution with hand & face placement, and of course always use a pot holder or oven mit – it seems to work fine for me, as I’ve never aquired a steam injury, thankfully.

I enjoy having this roaster so much in fact, that my mother will be receiving one for Christmas!

Why the hell one should change their best positioning statement ? Every one loved the ” thanda ” campaign, there were rave reviews about Aamir and Coke. People looked forward to the next Aamir avatar ………

Coke never had good time with respect to its advertising in India. Never in their second life in India, they have delivered good campaigns. Pepsi always scored with their campaigns like” Ye dil maange more” Yehi hai right choice baby”, ” Nothing official about it”.

Then came the Thanda matlab “Coca- Cola” campaign which blew the hell out of Pepsi. Well how can anyone own some thing like ” Thanda”. Similar to XEROX, Coke was trying to own a whole category as such.

Then Coke changed the campaign , Why? I don’t have the answer may be the creatives in McCann may have it. The current campaign speaks nothing. I use a straw to drink Coke, so how can I drink coke sar Utha ke? Most of the time when I tried drinking directly from the bottle, I had encountered some unpleasant taste of “rust” from the cap of the bottle. What about the South Indians and othe non Hindi speaking consumers? Will they be impressed by the base line?

Miss England has been forced to relinquish her crown after an alleged duel with a rival beauty queen over a TV Gladiator. Rachel Christie, niece of Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie, stepped down after being accused of punching Miss Manchester, Sara Beverley Jones, 24, in the face during a night out at a nightclub.

Trouble allegedly flared after Miss Jones showed Miss Christie a message on her phone claiming that it was sent to her by Miss Christie’s boyfriend, David McIntosh, who appears as Tornado in the Sky One television show Gladiators.

Miss Jones, who was dressed as a cavewoman, was taken to hospital, where she was treated for “superficial facial injuries”.

Miss Christie, 21, was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail pending a hearing in January.

The model and athlete, who hopes to win a gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in the heptathlon, has also quit the race to become Miss World to concentrate on clearing her name.

Last night a statement on the Miss England website read: “Due to the media attention following the allegations against her, Rachel Christie has now decided to withdraw from the Miss World competition and relinquish her Miss England crown. Rachel will concentrate on clearing her name and focus on training for the 2012 Olympics until this case is resolved.”

Miss Christie, who was dressed as an angel at the time of the alleged fracas, had been due to leave for the Miss World contest in South Africa next Tuesday. Police were called to the Mansion club in Manchester shortly before 1am on Monday.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “It is believed that, earlier that night, a 24-year-old woman got into an altercation with another woman in the club and was hit in the face several times.

“The victim was taken to Hope Hospital, where she received treatment for superficial facial injuries. She has now been discharged.”

It is believed that Mr McIntosh, a 15st former Royal Marine, is a former boyfriend of Miss Manchester.

Miss Christie was the first black woman to be crowned Miss England. When she won the title in July, she pledged to be a role model for black youth. “One of my reasons for doing Miss England in the first place was because I wanted to show people, the younger generation especially, that you can do something positive with your life,” Miss Christie had said, adding that she had turned to modelling to fund her training.

“Whoever you are, you can be who you want and whatever you want.”

Her father, Russell, had been a promising athlete but was arrested for theft and stabbed to death during a drugs-related dispute in 1996. Four years earlier, he had been jailed for attacking a former lover.

Mr McIntosh cites Rambo as his greatest inspiration and says he likes to “chill out with a cup of green tea” in preparation for his television battles.

Miss Christie has been replaced as Miss England by Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge, who came second in the pageant. Miss Hodge, 22, who was awarded a commendation from her unit, the 1st Batallion, Royal Anglian Regiment, for her actions during a posting in 2005 in Basra, has been given leave from her duties as a soldier to appear in the Miss World final.

Ok` this is when I question the sanity of some of the people charged with upholdin’ the law.
I read this story today, tho it climaxed this past August. When trafficking victim Sara Kruzan met G.G., the 31-year-old cretin who would become her pimp, she was 11. Sara’s mom struggled with drug addiction, she barely knew who her father was; she really had no home life.   G.G. saw his opportunity; he would drive Sara and her friends to the roller skating rink or the mall, and it felt like having a real parent around. He also gave Sara presents, and told her she was special- so special, that she should never ‘give sex away for free‘. He convinced her she was a ‘product‘.

G.G. groomed Sara like this for two years before he raped her. By then, his control was complete and he forced her into prostitution. Sara and the other girls who G.G. exploited were out on the streets from 6pm to 6am, every night.    Twelve hours a night, seven days a week, for three years, Sara was raped by strangers so G.G. could profit. After three years, she snapped, and she killed him.

More than 15 years ago, Sara girl killed her former pimp inside a Riverside motel room, shooting him in the neck with a pistol when he turned his back. She took $1,500 from his pocket and the keys to his Jaguar.

Within 14 months, (Sept. 28, 1995) Sara Kruzan was tried and convicted as an adult of first-degree murder, with special circumstances of lying in wait and murder in the course of robbery. Prosecutors said a rival pimp put her up to the crime.

She was 16 years old. And now she will die in prison for savin’ her own life.

The courts sentenced this child to Life Without A Pop (no parole), despite a California Youth Authority report stating the runaway would benefit from rehabilitation. While she deserves to be punished, she doesn’t deserve this.    But if ever there are any mitigating circumstances for a crime, these are them.

Seems once there was a bill introduce by CA Senator Leland Yee (Dem-S.F.), who is also a child psychologist, to have this type of case thrown out for life sentences.   It was crushed immediately…    He re-introduced a new bill in February, Senate Bill 399, that offenders in California who are under 20 at the time of their arrest have their sentences reviews in ten years.

This will be a pretty big step for Cali, a state with an already flawed prison system, such as the Three Strikes law, which created an enormous burst of over population in the state’s prisons. Shyt, you have 3 felonies.    And them folks can make em’ stick, you outta there for up 20-till the bus stops! Everything under that is in the system….

Even more importantly, I hope SOMEBODY gets on this.   Its startin’ to happen tho.    On Sept. 21, Demi Moore used her Twitter account to link to the above video.    Pro-bono lawyers have taken interest,  and a movie producer even asked to make a film about her. life.     I hope that all these important people , and all this attention,  can persuade who ever  is holdin the gold on this one, to change the laws when it comes to young children in positions like this.  

Atleast get this young lady another chance at life.

Under hösten kan Kvarteret Skatans uppsättning I Nöd och lust beskådas på Rival. Det är inte riktigt originalbesättningen då Anna Blomberg för närvarande har annat för sig (missa inte hennes Anna Anka-imitationer  i SVT. Hon är så lik att man nästan börjar rysa.) Hennes roller görs här istället av Josefin Bornebusch.

 Jag har följt Skatan som TVserie från och till genom åren och ibland tyckt att det varit helt fantastiskt roligt och ofta väldigt träffsäkert. Tyvärr är det också rätt ojämnt vilket blir än tydligare när det sätts upp som teaterpjäs. En del scener som framförs under den en och en halv timme långa föreställningen känns mest långsökta och utdragna. De hade även kunnat tona ned alla sångnummer en aning. Samtidigt är vissa delar galet roliga. Som när David Batras karaktär Jim löper amok och helt oväntat börjar slåss med Kicki Danielsson. Eller den svensexa som stackars Magnus tvingas genomlida. Eller den galna lattemamman som lämnat kvar sitt barn på Waynes Coffee. Så om man har ett par hundralappar över finns det definitivt värre saker att lägga dem på./Lisa
