I’m seriously considering this.

Right now I’m think fuck this. Fuck it all. Fuck university, my degree. Everything

I was thinking over the weekend, that I reckon I would be pretty happy being an RM Officer. It would be a sweet and cushy life. Also, I could have the GF there all the time. Would I want to stay with her forever?

Right now this dream feels so nice. I keep coming back to the RM idea. Be an RM officer, have some adventure, Stay with GF…. Be happy?

Am I feeling this just because things are challenging at the moment, and it seems like an easy solution? (Sure it wouldn’t be easy to do, but would be pretty certain!)

What about my eyesight, could I train with glasses?

Would my life become my job and my woman? What about your other dreams.. do you still want them?

This is going to take some thought. I can’t make a rash decision. If I do it, it has to be something I want beyond all else. Right now i’m not sure if that is the case, or if the urge to RUN is just overpowering my rational though!!

Reînnoirea Parlamentului României şi alianţele parlamentare care se pot forma ulterior ar putea avea un impact redus asupra RM din mai multe considerente. In primul rind, mutaţiile politice din mediul politic românesc nu sunt în prezent capabile să genereze în mod direct transformări în politicul moldovenesc (influenţa României este deocamdată nesemnificativă în comparaţia cu cea a Rusiei, iar o mare parte din guvernanţii români acordă o importanţă aleatorie situaţiei din RM).

In al treilea rind, actuala conducere politică de la Chişinău se opune apropierii malurilor Prutului nu doar din motive geo/politice dictate de Rusia, dar şi pentru a nu prejudicia politicii de stat de promovare a „moldovenismului” (inter-relaţionarea dintre Bucureşti şi Chişinău la orice nivel va avea loc atunci când elitele politice din RM vor fi orientate preponderent spre Occident, dar şi îşi vor asuma angajamente comune faţă de instituţiile europene şi euroatlantice etc.).

In al doilea rind, viaţa politică din România este distanţată de cea moldovenească, atât datorită statutului său de membru al UE şi NATO, cât şi din cauza interesului insuficient al populaţiei RM pentru procesele politice din ţara vecină (mediul public moldovenesc este conectat la realităţile CSI-iste, şi în primul rând cele de origine rusă, datorită mass-mediei pro-ruse sau/şi a celei de limbă rusă).

În orice caz, alegerile pentru Parlamentul României vor lăsa amprente asupra electoratului din RM (posesor de cetăţenie), deoarece vor stabili legături de responsabilitate dintre alegătorii români din RM şi deputaţii parlamentari români. Pe această cale, interesele, temerile şi cerinţele cetăţenilor români din RM vor putea fi audiate, dezbătute şi/sau transformate în iniţiative legislative în cadrul unui din forurile europene. Adiţional, RM/posesorii de cetăţenie română vor primi posibilitatea de a accesa realităţile europene via legislativul României.

When using Linux and more specifically the command line, you often use rm. rm means remove. And it does remove. There’s no recycle bin nor Trash folder to move things to. But we can make it happen. I found this script in the Ubuntu forums:

You basically save this file to your home folder under the name trashit, then edit your .bashrc file and add a line to the end of it saying:

alias rm='~./trashit'

From now on, every file you delete with rm will be instead moved to a directory called .Trash in your home directory. Don’t forget to create it first! But since this will pretty much be full if you remove things often, you should have an auto cleaning method.
Edit your crontab and add the following line:

* * * * 1 /bin/rm ~/.Trash/*

This makes your “Trash” directory to be cleaned every first day of the week. And that’s it Remember to set the ‘trashit’ file executable with chmod a+x trashit otherwise it won’t work!

Ett nytt roligt uppdrag är arbetet med Åhléns Klubb Barn! Kaplan heter relationsmarknadsföringsbyrån som sköter allt för Åhléns Klubb. Tillsammans med Kaplan designar jag material för klubben som kommer ut i vår. Det innebär massor av skisser, bildidéer, fotodagar i studio, möten med fotograf, stylist, inköp, osv. Barnsligt roligt och mycket utvecklande!

Ich nehme eine aktuelle Veröffentlichung eines meiner Archivbilder in der F.A.Z., einer überregionalen Tageszeitung, zum Anlaß für einige Überlegungen zum Markt für Bilder. Denn das Bild oben, das gibt es so sicher auch royalty free oder gar bei Microstock. Denn das ist ein klassisches “Butter-und-Brot”-Motiv.

Warum aber verwendet eine Zeitung das Bild eines “klassischen” Fotojournalisten, der sein Bildmaterial über Mecom und APIS rights managed anbietet und dafür auch das entsprechende Honorar erhält? Warum greift eine große Zeitung wie die F.A.Z. nicht auf die Angebote im Billigsegment zurück?

Ich glaube, die Gründe ganz gut zu kennen.

Professionell gemachte Medien bevorzugen die Kooperation mit professionellen Fotografen oder Bildagenturen!

Warum?

Ganz einfach: weil der Profi verläßlich ist. Weil er “sein” Thema hat bzw. “seine” Themen. Weil er, und sei er tausendmal – so wie ich – Universalist in ausreichendem Umfang Material zu “seinem” bearbeiteten Spektrum vorhält.

Nicht nur ab und an das eine Superbild und ansonsten “Schweigen im Walde” …

Ich habe “meine” Regionen. Und in der Region auch “meine” Abnehmer. Ich mache Bayern (und natürlich die Südwestpfalz). Und deswegen sind auch die Medien in Bayern zu einem großen Teil die Verwender meiner Fotos. So, wie es das folgende Belegexemplar zeigt.

Und ich arbeite mit meinen Bayernbildern auch gezielt für die lokale Presse in Nürnberg. Denn auch in den hiesigen Blättern gibt es natürlich eine Rubrik “Die Region und Bayern”. Aber ich arbeite für die lokale Presse auch mit meinen überregionalen Themen (“Aus aller Welt” ). Hier gilt dann: “Think global, act local!”. Die Belege aus der Nürnberger Presse im folgenden Tableau zeigen diese beiden Richtungen. Mein Standbein Natur kommt auch hier, wie man so schön sagt, “voll zum Tragen”. Auch, weil ich – denn ich bin nicht nur Fotograf – auch fundierte Hintergrund-Informationen und Features liefere. Eingebettet in die IPTC-Caption meiner Bilder. Denn das, wenn auch von vielen Fotografen ungeliebt, ist ein weiterer Hauptaspekt der professionellen Arbeit: sein Material passend, punktgenau, informativ und unterhaltsam zu beschriften und zu verschlagworten. So wie ich auch früher auf die Rückseite meiner Prints nicht nur meinen Copyright-Stempel draufgeknallt habe, sondern auch ein Etikett mit umfassendem Text. That’s it!

Publikationsbeispiele aus der lokalen Presse

Und so muß ich sagen und so fasse ich es zusammen:

Es ist für uns Profis ärgerlich, hochgradig ärgerlich, daß der Markt mit billigstem Amateurmaterial geradezu überschwemmt wird. Es ist umso ärgerlicher, daß auch Professionals ihre Bilder bei Microstock anbieten. Aber das wird nicht das Ende des qualifizierten Bildjournalisten sein. Denn sein Kriterium ist und bleibt die Qualität. Nicht die der Megapixelhype. Sondern die der eigenen und unverwechselbaren Bildsprache. Die Fähigkeit, sich in jedes nur erdenkliche Thema dieser Welt hineinzuarbeiten und selbst unter widrigsten Konditionen bestes Bildmaterial zu produzieren. Es ist eine Selbstverständlichkeit, daß wir uns als Profis dazu auch professionellen Equipments bedienen und als Profis uns auch in jede neue Technik in schnellster Zeit hineinarbeiten. Und wir nutzen professionelle Vertriebsplattformen, über die unser Material eine Höchstzahl potentieller Verwender erreicht.

Und “bestes Bildmaterial”, im journalistischen Sinne, das sind eben nicht die “geleckten” und mit Photoshop “gepushten” Bilder. Das ist Authentizität. Das Echte. Das Wahre. Das wahre Leben halt. Die Menschen in ihrer Umwelt. Ihre Ängste, Sorgen, Nöte. Aber auch ihre Freuden. Der ganz normale Alltag eben.

Und wir sind originell, wir entdecken und recherchieren Themen. Als gute Journalisten. Wir beleuchten sie, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Wir bieten Aspekte, wir liefern Information und Unterhaltung. Wir denken wie eine Redaktion. Und wir denken genau so, wie “unsere” Redaktion denkt. Deswegen sind wir Profis.

Und das ist genau das, was Microstocker und Hobbyknipser nie abliefern werden!

Weil ihnen die einfachsten Basics abgehen. Weil dieses Heer von Nicht-Professionellen zum großen Teil schon allein nicht weiß, was IPTC ist. Die zwar mit ihren 10- und noch mehr Megapixeln prahlen, aber dpi und lpi nicht auseinanderhalten können. Die nicht wissen mit welchem Linienraster eine Zeitungsmaschine druckt oder was die technischen Anforderungen im Zeitschriften- oder Buchdruck sind.

Und wie wichtig gerade eine professionelle Verschlagwortung ist, das mag meine folgende Veröffentlichung in der SUPERillu beweisen.

Professionelle Verschlagwortung zahlt sich aus.

Ein Foto, das nur im Ausschnitt verwendet wurde, aber zielgenau (und “live”) den redaktionellen Beitrag illustriert. Und in dem Zusammenhang auch gleich noch mal der Seitenhieb auf die Megapixel: das Bild entstand mit der Nikon Coolpix P5000, die ich immer und jederzeit in der Tasche habe und mit der eine Vielzahl meiner redaktionellen Fotos entstehen. “En passant”, im Vorübergehen. Denn wenn wir Pflanzen für den Garten einkaufen, dann bieten sich dabei zwar viele szenische Motive, aber ich verspüre nicht die Gelüste, meine Nikon D2H dazu mitzunehmen.

Die Beispiele der unprofessionellen Nicht-Kompetenz erschöpfen sich nicht in der IPTC-Beschriftung. Sie ließen sich beliebig fortsetzen. Dazu muß man nur mal in die einschlägigen Blogs und Foren schauen. Und: Nimmt man mal daran teil, erst mal wirklich ganz sachlich und auch mit Ratscglägen, dann dauert es nicht allzu lange, bis irgendwo sich ein Wüterich erhebt und einen, meist natürlich anonym, in geradezu unflätiger Weise attackiert. Weil das, was man sagt, einfach nicht in sein Denkmuster paßt, in seine Weltanschauung, die gegen alles ist, was über einer bestimmten Altersklasse liegt, gegen jegliche Form von Kritik. Gegen einen anderen Weg. Resistent auch gegen Ratschläge, eben halt beratungsresistent.

Wir Professionellen werden durchaus zu kämpfen haben, weil das Billigmaterial durchaus auch in der traditionellen Presse seinen Einzug gefunden hat. Und wir deshalb bereits von einigen unserer klassischen Abnehmer aus “marktwirtschaftlichen” Gründen zum Teil erbärmliche Konditionen angeboten kriegen. Wir werden mit unseren Abnehmern zusammen um den Bestand des Print-Marktes kämpfen müssen. Keine Frage. Wir werden uns auch auf neue Medien einlassen müssen. Auch keine Frage.

Aber wir werden ncht untergehen.

• man: muestra el manual de un programa o comando si este esta disponible

• mkdir: Crea un nuevo directorio.

Uso: mkdir nombredirectorio

• mount: Monta una unidad.

Uso: mount -t< sistema_de_archivo> <dispositivo> <nombredirectorio>

• mv: Este comando sirve para renombrar un archivo.

Uso: mv <nombrearchivo> <nuevonombrearchivo>

• netstat:Muestra las conexiones y puertos abiertos por los que se establecen las comunicaciones.

• poweroff: Apaga el ordenador.

• ps: Muestra información acerca de los procesos activos.

• rlogin: Conecta un host local con un host remoto.

Uso: rlogin <maquina_remota>

• rm: Remueve o elimina un archivo.

Uso: rm <rutaynombrearchivo>

• rmdir: Elimina el directorio indicado, el cual debe estar vacío.

Uso: rmdir nombredirectorio

• sudo o su: Con este comando accedemos al sistema como root.

• umount: Desmontar unidades montadas anteriormente

Uso: umount <nombredirectorio>

• wc:Cuenta los caráteres, palabras y líneas del archivo de texto.

Uso: wc nom_archivo

• whereis: Devuelve la ubicación del archivo especificado, si existe.

Uso: whereis nomb_archivo

Sesja Rady Miasta to nie tylko polityka. Czasami, szczególnie jeśli się jest przewodniczącym, można wygospodarować trochę miejsca na wypowiedź, nazwijmy to, “obyczajową”. Planowanie spontaniczny przejaw koleżeńskiej pamięci,  za sprawą pewnego zbiegu okoliczności, wymknął się nieco z ram spodziewanego rozwoju sytuacji.

A to Ci dopiero!

Nie chce mi się wyliczać prawdopodobieństwa zaistnienia takiej sytuacji, gdzie splatają się ze sobą data sesji RM i urodziny trzech wysokich urzędników tegóż samego samorządu, ale raczej nie jest ona wysoka, przez co po zaistnieniu zaskakuje. Czuczak chciał sprawnie wtrącić życzenia dla swojego kolegi i szybko przejść do procedowania uchwały o przekazaniu dotacji dla PWSZ, co jednak nie do końca się udało. Okazało się, że chcąc dobrze, popełnił małą gafę – troska o jednego współpracownika okazała się przejawem jej braku wobec reszty. Śmiech jako element tuszujący zdziwienie i zakłopotanie, skutkował tym, co sami słyszeliście.

Luz i dobra atmosfera są potrzebne także w urzędzie, gdzie przecież zarządza się tzw. zasobami ludzkimi. Ważne tylko, żeby dbać o profesjonalizm, którego tym razem przewodniczącemu Czuczakowi zabrakło.

Kuinka samaistuttavaa, kuinka kaunista, kuinka – miestä. + luin sitaatin yhteydessä jossa pohdittiin niitä hyviä puolia, joita rangaistukseksi tarkoitetusta paskaduunin teettämisestä saattoi aiheutua. en tiedä ketään suomalaisen enemmistön mielestä menestynyttä,  joka ei olisi kiireinen tai ainkain pyrkisi vaikuttamaan siltä, tietääkö joku?

Seriously?  Could the man be any better than he already is?  He’s freaking smart, too.  What a little smarty pants he is!! LOL

I could not be more happy for someone right now.  When I heard the news he was named Executive Producer for “Remember Me,” [insert embarrassing fan girl moment here] I clapped happily as if he was someone I knew personally.  Seriously, I know that sounds sad, but you know what?  Of all people, right now, he deserves it.  So, a special congratulations is put out there in the universe just for him.

Holy crap!  This just in, kids!

Apparently according to Gossip Cop, Robert Pattinson has been confirmed as Executive Producer on his upcoming film, “Remember Me.”  This tidbit of info comes from a source from within the production.

This film which was originally slated to premiere in February 2010 was recently pushed back to March.  Awww, rats!

Thank you for confirming this, Gossip Cop!  We love that you poke so much fun at the tabloids about whatever they will do next!

Stimate domnule Prim-ministru,

La alegerile din 5 aprilie şi 29 iulie 2009, precum şi la protestele împotriva fraudării alegerilor de către comunişti, toată societatea din România a urmărit cu sufletul la gură lupta pentru libertate şi democraţie dusă de fraţii noştri. Viitorul nostru comun obligă la fapte concrete, care să faciliteze libera circulaţie între cetăţenii de pe cele două maluri ale Prutului.

Ţinând cont că, o dată cu intrarea României în Uniunea Europeană, tot mai puţini cetăţeni români au nevoie de paşaport pentru a călători în majoritatea statelor europene, noi, reprezentanţii societăţii civile interesată de problematica românilor de pretutindeni, solicităm elaborarea unui acord bilateral între România şi Republica Moldova prin care cetăţenilor României să li se permita accesul în Republica Moldova pe baza actului de identitate.

Suntem convinşi că acest gest de deschidere al Guvernului de la Chişinău ar genera efecte pozitive în domenii precum schimburile comerciale, cultură şi turism.

Aşteptăm gestul noului guvern de la Chisinau în acest sens şi vă asigurăm de tot sprijinul nostru în aplicarea reformelor necesare pentru ca Republica Moldova să devină un stat prosper şi european.

At age eleven in 1979, Norman Ollestad was the only survivor of a small plane crash in the San Gabriel Mountains in which his father, his father’s girlfriend, and the pilot all died. Crazy for the Storm is his memoir of that experience, written in alternating chapters about the crash with his life before and after that pivotal event. Norm’s father pushed him hard during the eleven years they were together, and it turned out that the skills Norman learned from his father gave him the resources to survive against long odds against him. I especially liked the affectionate way in which his father called Norman “Ollestad”. The writing in Crazy for the Storm presents the ordeal and the memories of childhood in ways that keep a reader engaged, and never approach the sentimental or maudlin. By the last page, I realized that rather than a memoir of survival, I was reading about the relationship between a father and son, and how a father’s trial of his son by ordeal prepared a young man for the biggest challenge of his life.

Norman Ollestad’s journey of survival and discovery detailed in his memoir, “Crazy for the Storm”, has not found in its readership, at least not documented in these Amazon book reviews, the screaming parallel to the Pirzig masterpiece, “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance”. Is “Crazy”, “Zen”? Not quite. But Ollestad’s fascinating attempt at a deeper philosophy, one beyond the creative memoir, one beyond the survival narrative, one beyond the relationship with his dad and mom simply rips off the pages so painfully it hurts. His is a journey into truth. The fairytale truth seen through the eyes of a charismatic, but egocentric, thrill seeking father or the real truth through the eyes of a shallow but seemingly more rational secondary father figure. The journey into truth can happen in many ways. For Ollestad it was the profound drama of suddenly finding himself alone on a snow and ice covered mountain, miraculously surviving a light airplane crash into a desolate peak. How can an 11 year old boy climb down off a mountain in extreme conditions and survive? Most would not. However, the physical survival of an 11 year old boy is not what the book is about. It’s about his emotional survival and his journey to discover his own truth, whether that be of the fairytale variety or something closer to reality.

Ollestad is writing his memoir 27 years later and reflecting on these foundational moments of his life, his dad, his extreme experiences, and this other significant adult male influence in his life, his mom’s boyfriend Nick. On the one hand Ollestad has the larger than life memory of his father with all the extreme things his father would do, and take him to do, the snow skiing, the surfing, the take life by the horns and to hell with the consequences provided your are taken to a new level though the experience attitude. And whether or not this lifestyle, which he didn’t particularly care for at first, had provided him tangible life value? One the other hand, you have Nick who is an abusive alcoholic with nothing close to the charisma of his dad, but nevertheless seems to care about safety and proper childhood development apart from the self indulgent culture of the adrenaline junkies. It is practically certain that had Ollestad not been an experience alpine skier and a kid who had been thrown into countless life and death situations by his dad, his death on that mountain top was guaranteed. He had matured beyond his age by his survival experience and his dad deserves the credit — if that is a good thing. And this is the premise within which Ollestad’s “…inquiry into values” rages. If he had been raised in an over protective household, one in which he was not permitted to skateboard with older kids, for instance, his threshold for pain might have been lower and his body would have refused to cooperate on the mountain top. On the other hand he would never have learned to lie effortlessly to his mom about the fact that he was indeed skateboarding with older kids, not to mention drinking beer, smoking pot, using foul language, and generally engaging in self destructive behavior.

This is a decent book. Certainly not as important as Zen, but seemingly, perhaps, with greater appeal and accessibility because it explores everyday values. Decisions we face when we raise our kids. Do we allow them more freedom to learn on their own or less freedom and thus more safety. Do we protect them in order to ensure their survival now, or equip them to survive when we can no longer be there to protect them? Ollestad grapples with these questions in reverse by examining whether or not his dad raised him correctly. Finding the answer would heal his heart.

This book is not for everyone and it does have some major problems — it’s hard to believe the thoughts of an 11 year old are as sophisticated as Ollestad remembers. Fact or fiction it is an appealing story that should resonate with parents considering the dilemma and with the children of parents who made the decisions for them.

I find it hard to believe that this book was chosen as one of the best of the year by the editors of Amazon.com. I am not an overly picky reader, being something of an omnivore, but this book was so poorly written that I really had to slog to get through it. There were so many descriptions about snow and chutes that I didn’t understand. There was astonishingly poor parenting described and other than the repeated comment that the writer was scared, there was no discussion about his feelings about his upbringing.It was a waste of money. I will certianly no longer be impressed by a book being chosen by the editors of Amazon as one of the best books of the year.

I bought this as a gift for my husband. He couldn’t put it down. He loved it! It is more than just an adventure memoir. The book asks key philosophical questions about parenting–how hard to push and what we teach by example.

I really wanted to like this book, but in the end it was a let down. Norman’s trek down the mountain wasn’t all that interesting–don’t get me wrong, for an 11 year old boy to survive something like this is nothing little, but at the same time, it wasn’t much of an adventure. On top of that, I could never get a grip on exactly what a “chute” or a “funnel” was, and it was very distracting. The other half of the story was a little more interesting, but still not that compelling. And, I’m no prude, I’ve read plenty of books that many would find shocking, but young Norman’s obsession with sex was a little creepy and uncomfortable. I really didn’t need to know that he “got his first hand-job” from a girl when he was 12, or that he slept naked and was embarrassed when his mom saw his “three pubic hairs”. All in all, I couldn’t recommend this one.

The risk analysis is useful and should help the organization catalogue the threats. The risk analysis should also enable the key disaster scenario to be established, which will determine the maximum expected or estimated disruption period within which all critical business functions must recover and resume. So, I obviously told enough lies to warrant them offering me a job. Yes, sir. No, sir. Three bags full. Of course I love the company. It’s just hard to answer so many questions when my tongue is inserted so far up your ass. I’m joking. I don’t bow down to authority. Nor do I sugar-coat everything and suck someone’s dick in order to get something. I simply tell it like it is. With proper decorum, of course.
That’s the one thing I am good at. I tell you what, though. This writing malarkey works wonders. In recent years it’s taught me a few big, clever words. Throw a few of ‘em at a Royal Mail manager in a well-structured sentence and the skies the limit. I reckon, if I had told him I was a coruscating individual who will not stand around and watch the Royal Mail dissipate, Adam Crozier would be clearing out his office first thing this morning.

That said, it wasn’t all jelly and ice cream. I’ve been put on a waiting list again. And do you want to know why? Probably not. But I’ll tell you anyway. It was all because documents that will get you a passport, into other countries or a job working in Parliament, were no good enough for RM. Oh no. They needed the all-important passport photo; on top of my O2 phone bill, self-employed letters and documents from HM Revenue & Customs, my actual passport itself, not to mention both parts of my driving licence, my national insurance number and my birth certificate. I’m sure there was more, but I simply got confused by the plethora of documents I was trying to squeeze into an envelope. Oh yes. They wanted photocopies of everything, too.

In the end, it ended up being a 40-mile round trip to Feltham and back. And all because, nowhere on their website did it say to bring a passport-sized photograph to your interview. Believe me. I checked meticulously. Apparently, they couldn’t process my application without one. However, it wasn’t so much an ultimatum, more of a conundrum. However, I wasn’t too bothered if it meant me missing out. I was still undecided if I even wanted to go back. My mood when I got home will stand testament to that. Simply put, I got undressed, flung on some jeans and blurted out a few expletives. It’s then I sat myself on the sofa and found solace in a Double Decker. Whatever was in it, though, had me picking up what eluded me the first time round and had me heading back out in my car ASAP.

And the irony in all of this is the fact that, when I checked myself in the mirror shortly before I left, I caught glimpse of the photographs in the corner of my eye, innocently sitting on the side. I chose to ignore them though, simply because, like previously stated, nowhere on the list of things needed for the application did it say one was necessary.

On arriving back to the interview I handed over the bullion, only to be told the last few vacancies have in fact, now gone. Ouch! I wouldn’t say the feeling was quite as disappointing as rushing down to your local store though, only to find you’ve just missed out on the last copy of that CD you’ve wanted for so long. It was more irritating than anything. It was a wasted journey. A waste of petrol. They even said that ‘cos I’ve worked for them before I became a prime candidate and they would make me a priority.

Oh well. It’s out of my hands now. All I can do is sit and wait for someone to leave the RMS Titanic. Something tells me it’ll be a long wait, too. Exactly the same thing happened when I was offered a job with them at Richmond. I was on the waiting list for at least six months. There wasn’t a recession on then either. People will be holding on to their jobs like the McCann’s are holding on to the hope that their daughter is still alive.
