Concert

This photo is from our first summer in Madison.  Robbie took me on a lovely date to an Andrew Bird concert.  Looks like we were a little early to the show!  Robbie stretched out his arms to take this photo and I love this one.

• Tamiflu seems to have finally started its work…The aching has lessened and the headache is minor…Yayyyy. I have recieved a swab test in the post to be carried out and mailed to some lab in London, they want to see if swine flu is present….Whats the point…I have been on Tamiflu all week and feel much better…I dont get it !!!
• Hmmm…Staying in on a Friday evening wasnt too bad after all…chilled with Tea and TV….gave my liver a rest from the usual pounding with Sambucca and Voddie…missed my friends though.
• Watched the Bodyguard….Whitney when she was good…cant believe they are remaking this classic film with Miley Cyrus…shes a bloody child…and the film is a classic and should not be tampered with.

It Had To Happen

The Children in need concert at the Albert Hall proved to be the venue for the long awaited but inevitable reunion,Robbie needed to rescue his floundering career, Escapology was one of the best albums of the decade, Rudebox was appalling and his new album is only 1 rung above it….there are no memorable tracks such as Come Undone, Angels, Me and My Monkey, Feel…etc…Where did Robbie go??…Maybe a stint back with the boys will re-inspire the magic

When Jourdan was young she used to love me taking her to the park to feed the ducks…the powers that be (Who want to return to family values) have decided to stamp on this simple pleasure…pathetic !!!

Quackers: Mother fined £75 for feeding ducks (but toddler son gets off because he’s too young to prosecute)

A council warden fined a mother £75 for feeding the ducks – but allowed her one-year-old son to continue because he was ‘too young to prosecute’. Vanessa Kelly, 26, had taken her son Harry on his weekly afternoon treat to visit their local park when she was approached by a council worker. The pair had been throwing bread to ducks in Smethwick Hall Park, in the West Midlands, but stopped as soon as they were warned that they were outside the ‘designated feeding areas for birds’.

But the over-zealous female warden pulled out a hand-held computer and issued Miss Kelly with an on-the-spot fine for ‘littering’. The full-time mother was then told her son could continue to throw bread as he was too young to be fined. She said: ‘I had Harry on my hip and a bag of bread in my hand and we were both throwing crumbs to the ducks as the warden approached. ‘I didn’t think anything of it and certainly didn’t think we were doing anything wrong, which is why I was surprised when she stopped me. ‘She explained that it was banned because it could attract vermin. She said there had been complaints about children slipping over on their way to school on duck mess. I said it was fair enough and fastened the bag. ‘I couldn’t believe my eyes when she then pulled out a little computer and started to issue a ticket. ‘Harry was still throwing the bread though and the warden told me he could carry on as he was too young to prosecute. I couldn’t believe it.’ The fine, issued at 4pm on Tuesday, came at the worst possible time for Miss Kelly, after her job as an office administrator came to an end last week.

She added: ‘I take my son to feed to the ducks every week and he loves it. To be fined £75 is an absolute disgrace. Parking fines are less. ‘I will be fighting this fine all the way.’ Miss Kelly, from Oldbury, said that a sign in the park warned of the dangers of ‘overfeeding’ the birds, but there was no indication that people could be fined. She has lodged a complaint with Sandwell Council and intends to appeal. The council defended the fine, claiming that feeding the birds attracts rats. A council spokesperson added: ‘As the woman was being issued with the fine the kid was still throwing bread. In temper she turned around and said: ‘I suppose you’re going to issue him with a fine as well.’ ‘The warden told her that he could not do that in any case because he was too young to prosecute.’ Councillor Mahboob Hussain added: ‘This park has a major problem with Canada Geese and people living nearby feel intimidated by the large numbers. Road-users also feel the birds are a danger to motorists and passengers. ‘We have had so many complaints that we decided to create designated feeding areas for birds. ‘Too much food can cause bird populations to grow out of control as well as leaving litter and attracting rats, which poses an environmental health risk. ‘The penalty notice would be reduced to £50 if paid within ten days.’ In 2007 grandmother Barbara Jubb was fined £80 by Crawley Council after her 20-month-old granddaughter Emily dropped two crisps on the pavement. On Monday Oxford University student Demetrios Samouris was handed the same penalty by a street sweeper for dropping a single match in the road.

Anger as judge caught drunk behind the wheel with half-empty bottle of vodka escapes jail

A judge who was twice caught drunk behind the wheel of his car has escaped a jail sentence – to the fury of road safety campaigners. Bruce Macmillan was yesterday banned from driving for two years and fined despite being three times over the legal limit on both occasions, just three weeks apart. The 63-year-old could have been handed a sentence of six months behind bars. Last night campaigners condemned the sentence.

Carole Whittingham, from Campaign Against Drink Driving, said: ‘It seems extremely lenient, especially considering he had been caught on two occasions. ‘It could send out a mixed message. It may seem like there’s a rule for one and another rule for others. He is a danger to himself but more importantly a danger to others and the sentence should reflect that.’ Magistrates in Chorley, Lancashire, heard that Macmillan was spotted driving erratically in his black Vauxhall Signum car on the M6 near Charnock Richard on August 27. Adrian Hollamby, prosecuting, said a police officer ‘discovered him weaving around in the inside lane and the car’s brake lights flashing on and off’. The officer pursued the judge and pulled his patrol vehicle alongside Macmillan’s car. The defendant eventually pulled over to the kerb. ‘The officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the car,’ said Mr Hollamby. ‘He also saw a half-full one litre bottle of vodka and an empty can of Red Bull sitting in the passenger seat. He asked the driver how much alcohol he had consumed and the response was, “I have not had a drink today, officer”.’ Macmillan, who had no previous convictions, failed a breath test and was taken to a police station, where he was found to be almost three times the drink-drive limit. He gave a reading of 111 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms. He was charged and bailed. But on September 17, the judge was found slumped at the wheel of his car in Toxteth, Liverpool, the court heard. The keys were still in the ignition.Police, who had been alerted by his wife that he was missing from home, realised the judge had been drinking and found a plastic bag with a half-empty bottle of gin on the passenger seat. Macmillan was taken to the police station and gave a reading of 253mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80mg. The judge, who sat at Liverpool Crown Court, has resigned from his £128,000 a year post. The court was told he was on a rehabilitation course for alcoholics after the pressure of his job overcame him. Stuart Driver QC, defending, said the judge’s career lay in tatters after his first conviction and he had suffered a dramatic ‘fall from grace’. ‘He accepts at that point his career was ruined and he was a broken man,’ Mr Driver added. Macmillan pleaded guilty to being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle. In September, he had pleaded guilty to drink-driving.He was also fined £1,200, with a £175 victim surcharge.

Oj, vad man önskar att den där jämrans tidsmaskinen nånsin blev färdigbyggd så man kunde ta ett skutt ganska exakt 33 år bakåt, till Winterland i San Francisco i november 1976. The Band’s avskedskonsert The Last Waltz där dagens födelsedagspojke (64 år) Neil Percival Young bara var en i raden av fantastiska gästartister. Lägg också märke till förra veckans födelsedagsbarn Joni Mitchell som sjunger i bakgrunden.

Det här är också den mest kostsamma scenen i hela Scorsese’s underbara film. Vi kan väl sammanfatta det med världens dyraste snorkråka…

En annan ganska ovanlig fågel är Gamnacken. Dessa Gamnackar arrangerar PopGiss 2010 som börjar om exakt 100 dagar…

Excited!! Hopefully able to getting tix for the show in 2010 (if there will be one?!). Glad that Robbie found someone he cares about and hope that Ayda supports him for upcoming tour …

Mark Owen, the original heartthrob, has finally tied the knot with his long-term girlfriend and best friend Emma Ferguson. “The bride wore a long, white, beaded, V-neck 1920s gown and embroidered vintage veil. Her bridesmaids were also in white 1920s-style beaded dresses. Fellow band mates Gary, Howard and Jason flew to Scotland on a 17 seater Lear Jet to attend the festivities. Robbie was said to have been arriving by private jet. Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow were also said to be guests of the couple. Mark and Emma already have two children together, three-year-old Elwood Jack and one-year-old Willow Rose.”

Samstag abend, ich gucke mir diese elendig langweiligen Wetten-das-Sendung mit Thomas Gottschalk und der Hunziker an, nur weil ich ihn sehen will: Robbie Williams – the sexiest man alive. Und dann singt der Typ unbeteiligt sein neues Liedchen ab, im etwas zu engen grauen Anzug, mit Stehkragen-Hemd, braunen Schuhen und gelben Socken. Mit seiner braven Frisur sieht er jetzt aus wie einer von der Haspa. Und genau so sexy wie die Herren hinterm Kundenschaltter bewegt er sich auch zur Musik – fast gar nicht. Bestimmt hatte er vor dem Auftritt nen Bandscheibenvorfall oder so. Hoffe ich, denn das wäre die einzige Entschuldigung für die schlappe Performance.

Der Robbie hat mich um den Finger gewickelt, das neue Album des Herrn Williams gefällt mir! Es gefällt mir sogar ausgezeichnet. 12 Tracks befinden sich auf dem Album. Einer davon ist eine zweite Version von Morning Sun. Meinem Favoriten! Es ist eher ruhig und nachdenklich, wie das Album insegsamt eher ruhig und nachdenklich daherkommt. Bis auf Bodies, Last Days of Disco und Difficults for Weirdos, in Teilen auch  Won´t do that überwiegen die ruhigen und leisen Töne. Eher besinnlich also, passend zum November
